vice president how does that Focus the
how does that Focus the messages you
want to put out there so being the first
Jewish person ever to be a White House
principal I take that responsibility
very seriously I feel very accountable
uh being in this role and so just from
the get-go um even prior to that
horrible day of October 7th I was
speaking out about hate uh speaking out
against anti-Semitism but all types of
hate because I realize that's part of
that obligation and responsibility but
it also meant hey we're going to have a
muuza at the vice president's residence
we're going to celebrate Passover we're
going to do manur lighting so just be o
you know living openly and proudly as a
joyful Jewish person and that's what
I've really tried to do uh in this role
are you shocked by the rise of
anti-Semitism not only around the world
but in the United States you know
unfortunately not this this H this was
this was boiling up if you go back to
Charlottesville you go back to the
horrific shooting at Tree of Life
synagogue in Pittsburgh um you track
this this hate I called it an epidemic
of hate that was really starting to
percolate and again starting from early
2021 I really started to focus on
fighting hate and anti-Semitism I wrote
about I spoke about it and in fact I was
a participant in the first ever National
strategy to combat anti-Semitism which
the Biden White House introduced a year
ago in May of 2023 so this is something
we with the help of the president of
course the vice president um we had to
meet the moment and certainly since
October 7th I mean we can see it's a
crisis a crisis of anti-Semitism so I've
been working on this issue almost
non-stop in front of the camera I just
spoke uh here in New York I was speaking
with the president in the Rose Garden uh
this week so I'm going to continue to
speak out publicly and and privately as
well you know reaching out and being
there um and just checking in but again
always living openly proudly without Joy
because we this hate affects all of us
it doesn't matter if you're Jewish or
not this hate is bad for our country
it's bad for our democracy it's a poison
and it must be stopped so we all must be
against it all forms

going to celebrate your 10th anniversary
in August how how did you meet what made
you fall for her so it was a blind date
um seriously client meeting client came
in and after the meeting was kind of a
tense meeting too and it was a woman and
she said are you single I said why are
you asking me that are you single I said
well um maybe do you know com do you
know KLA Harris the Attorney General um
yeah do I think you guys would be great
together I'm like okay so that that
night I was at a Laker game with some
buddies and we she the client sent me
her number like don't screw this up and
I did a text hey at the Laker game and
she said go Lakers even though she's
Warrior fan the next
morning the next morning I made what I
thought was a critical error I decided
early I had an early meeting I'm in the
car I was like don't don't dial that
number don't do it what time is this
7:30 a.m. 7:30 in the morning yeah so I
dial the number of course she doesn't
answer and then I'm like hey it's
Doug and um and it's four or five
minutes of that I'm like oh my goodness
I'm never going to do you four 5 minute
message at 7 in the morning lit hey it's
Doug and I'm thinking okay I blew it I'm
never going to see her well we did go on
that first date love at first sight I we
were literally talking about our future
at the by the end of that first date and
that next morning I'm sending her an
email here are my availabilities for the
next 6 months and 10 years later 11
years later here we
