play00:19

hello easy hello and welcome hi I'm

play00:22

Sacha welcome to my YouTube channel and

play00:25

uh you know one of the most common

play00:27

comments I get on my Instagram or

play00:29

YouTube is can you please share your

play00:31

skincare routine and my younger self

play00:33

forget not even my 13year old self my

play00:35

20year old self would have been like

play00:37

what someone wants to know my skincare

play00:39

routine because I have had a whole

play00:41

journey of skin and problems and

play00:46

learning how to fix it so I thought

play00:49

instead of just sharing a skincare

play00:50

routine I will tell you a couple of tips

play00:53

that has really really help me transform

play00:55

my skin from what it was to what it is

play00:58

now and I'm really feeling grateful

play01:01

because I know how horrible it can feel

play01:04

when your skin is looking bad and you

play01:07

feel like terrible about yourself and

play01:10

when your skin looks good it suddenly

play01:12

feels like such a relief because that

play01:15

that was something I used to be so

play01:17

conscious about and so now I feel very

play01:19

grateful that I have clearer skin than I

play01:22

did earlier so first thing I'll try to

play01:25

put in a couple of pictures to give you

play01:27

context so growing up I had very oily

play01:29

skin uh I still do and quite sensitive

play01:32

and I used to also sweat a lot I was

play01:34

involved in a lot of sports and I was

play01:36

very active in school Etc so I would

play01:38

sweat a lot and that resulted in me

play01:40

getting these uh bumps on my forehead

play01:43

the doctor said were heat rashes and it

play01:45

covered the entire expanse of my

play01:47

forehead and I have a pretty big

play01:48

forehead so it was just like all bumpy

play01:50

bumpy and you know like people when they

play01:52

would meet me or my friends sometimes

play01:54

they would be like hey what's that on

play01:55

your head and I just be like he trashes

play01:58

and i' tried so many things um I tried

play02:02

that Himalaya neem face wash for oily

play02:05

skin and washed my face until it was

play02:07

like super dry which now I realized was

play02:10

a bad thing but at the time I thought

play02:12

that you know this is going to help save

play02:13

my skin I've put lotions chamomile

play02:16

lotion uh powders so many things but

play02:20

nothing really helped except for

play02:22

applying cold aloe vera gel on my face

play02:25

like taking a fresh aloe vera keeping it

play02:27

in the fridge and then slicing it open

play02:29

and then keeping it on my forehead would

play02:31

really cool down those heat rashes uh

play02:34

but the only problem was I was not very

play02:36

consistent in doing that I was I think

play02:39

around 12 13 14 so I was not the most

play02:42

consistent with it and at the same time

play02:45

I would complain my skin is so bad so I

play02:48

had this heat rashes thing for a very

play02:51

long time until I think I was 16 and on

play02:54

TV i' had seen an ad for proactive and

play02:57

it had all these celebrities Justin

play02:59

Bieber all of them you know saying oh

play03:00

proactive so great it really helped my

play03:02

skin and all of that and it was quite

play03:05

expensive it was I think like 2,500 at

play03:07

that time for three products and so my

play03:10

brother was working at that time and he

play03:13

asked me what do you want for your

play03:14

birthday and I was like please please

play03:16

give me proactive I'll have clear skin

play03:19

then my life will be good I'll be happy

play03:21

about things so he got it for me and

play03:25

honestly it worked like a charm okay it

play03:28

really really helped my skin like it

play03:30

almost cleared entirely cleared the

play03:32

forehead bumps and I was like wo I have

play03:34

clear skin but what I did not realize is

play03:37

that proactive has very pretty strong

play03:40

chemicals okay and they tell you to put

play03:42

sunscreen and um I being the careless

play03:46

teenager that I was I did not put

play03:48

sunscreen and so when I would go out in

play03:50

the sun my face would burn and I thought

play03:52

it was O just very hot but then I

play03:54

realized now that I was using such harsh

play03:57

chemicals on my face and without skin

play03:59

protection was really damaging it and I

play04:00

can definitely see those leftover scars

play04:03

on my face I don't think you can see it

play04:04

on the camera here but if I go to the

play04:06

mirror I can see those pits and those

play04:09

scars which I didn't have before using

play04:11

proactive but then like yeah I got a

play04:14

pretty lot of them even especially here

play04:16

I have these spots on my face that came

play04:20

up after using it and because I did not

play04:22

use sunscreen I don't think it's a bad

play04:24

product like it I'm I'm really grateful

play04:26

for how it cleared my face but I did not

play04:28

use sunscreen that was my mistake and so

play04:32

uh throughout College my skincare

play04:34

routine was just basically wash my

play04:37

face sometimes put moisturizer but also

play04:40

I thought oh I have oily skin how can I

play04:42

put moisturizer to make it more oily and

play04:44

that I I didn't have so much access to

play04:45

YouTube and all okay so I didn't know

play04:47

all these things so I would just wash my

play04:50

face and like hope for the best and so I

play04:52

didn't have I didn't have pimples like

play04:55

cystic acne but I didn't have the

play04:57

clearest skin I didn't have the freshest

play05:00

looking or I didn't have that glow

play05:01

nothing like I had

play05:03

very average skin I was like Chell I

play05:06

mean at that point honestly i' had given

play05:08

up about my skin cuz I thought okay this

play05:10

is my life this is what my skin is going

play05:11

to look like for the rest of my life

play05:13

might as well just deal with it um and

play05:15

so I turned my attention to my hair I

play05:16

started coloring my hair and then this

play05:18

went on until I went moved to Chennai

play05:21

for my uh postgrad and I don't know what

play05:24

happened okay suddenly I think it was

play05:27

mang is also humid but Chennai was like

play05:29

Next Level humid it was very hot uh my

play05:32

room was my hostel room was just under

play05:35

the roof and we had one single fan for

play05:36

two people so I was sweating a lot and I

play05:39

don't think I was taking care of my skin

play05:41

properly and I started getting these

play05:42

really big pimples on the side of my

play05:45

face I think I still have the scars of

play05:47

some of them on my face and I got very

play05:49

conscious about it because also it was a

play05:51

new College I was meeting people the

play05:52

first time I was like oh I got to have

play05:54

all these pimples so I actually went to

play05:55

meet a dermatologist and he had one look

play05:57

on my face and he's like do you eat a

play06:00

lot of

play06:01

chocolates and I was like yeah and then

play06:04

he said yeah you know you need to cut

play06:05

down on chocolates and he prescribed a

play06:07

face wash for I'll put the exact picture

play06:09

here and it was 12200 rupees which again

play06:14

I was using like 200 rupees face wash

play06:16

and to use this it was very expensive uh

play06:19

but then I thought okay you know if this

play06:21

is what will help save my skin then I'm

play06:23

going to use it so it was a very light

play06:25

Foaming Face Wash um that used to clear

play06:28

my skin I reduced eating chocolates a

play06:30

lot and I just would very regularly

play06:33

again wash my face morning and night uh

play06:36

important point to note here is that

play06:38

during college before this uh I would

play06:41

not always wash my face in the night

play06:42

there were a lot of times that I would

play06:44

be so tired or so sleepy after college

play06:46

that I'll be like forget about it and

play06:47

just sleep um and that also contributed

play06:50

a lot of skin issues and now today I

play06:53

cannot imagine going to sleep without

play06:55

washing my face no matter how tired how

play06:57

sleepy whatever even if I I don't do

play06:59

anything else I will at least wash my

play07:01

face before going to sleep um so yeah so

play07:04

I I was just washing my face cut down

play07:06

sugar and at least those pimples

play07:07

disappeared but my face did not improve

play07:10

as such everyone told me when you go

play07:12

through puberty it's uh you know you

play07:14

have bad skin and then when you grow up

play07:17

or you get out of puberty you finish

play07:18

your teens you have great skin and here

play07:21

I am at 2021 my skin is not that great

play07:24

and I'm like what is everyone talking

play07:25

about like where where is the glow up

play07:27

and I started working and and uh still

play07:30

my skin was like okay it was it's it was

play07:33

quite dull and I used to get rashes and

play07:36

pimples quite often and then um also

play07:39

because I used to have a shift system so

play07:42

our work schedule used to sleep change

play07:44

every two weeks so sometimes night shift

play07:46

sometimes early morning sometimes late

play07:47

evening so I was not getting enough

play07:48

sleep I was eating a lot of junk food um

play07:52

my skin really really was not doing well

play07:55

at that time and um the biggest biggest

play08:00

biggest change at least the first time

play08:01

in my life that I actually saw clear

play08:04

glowing skin was when I decided okay I'm

play08:07

going to eat clean I'm going to get fit

play08:10

like I put on a lot of weight and I was

play08:12

like you know I have to make a lifestyle

play08:13

change because this is not helpful for

play08:15

me and not healthy mentally and

play08:17

physically and so I started working out

play08:19

regularly within a week the

play08:22

transformation in my skin oh my goodness

play08:26

I was glowing and everyone around me

play08:28

also noticed like what have you done to

play08:29

your face oh your skin is glowing so

play08:31

much blah blah blah and I was like I was

play08:34

just excess like are you telling me that

play08:36

all I had to do all these years was just

play08:39

exercise and my skin was doing so much

play08:42

better also I was eating very healthy

play08:44

almost entirely cut out sugar I was

play08:47

eating high protein low CBS um I was

play08:50

very very strict with my food so all of

play08:52

those factors really help my skin like

play08:56

pop you know my skin was looking amazing

play08:58

and then then as things go you

play09:00

eventually can't sustain such an such a

play09:04

strict schedule in your life so I kind

play09:06

of fell off the wagon and then went back

play09:08

to I used to exercise but not so

play09:11

regularly and food also I used to eat

play09:13

anything junk I used to eat out a lot

play09:15

and stuff um and then the pandemic

play09:17

happened and then I moved home and this

play09:20

was the second time that my face really

play09:23

my skin really improved a lot because I

play09:26

was at home eating homecooked food food

play09:29

no junk food at all and the food we eat

play09:31

at home also my mom makes a lot of

play09:33

vegetables we eat a lot of fish I

play09:35

believe all of these things really help

play09:36

you with your skin and um it was also

play09:40

the time that I spent a lot of time

play09:42

watching YouTube videos on skincare Etc

play09:45

and that's when I was introduced to like

play09:46

vitamin C and all of these other

play09:49

products that uh you know people were

play09:51

saying that really help their skin so I

play09:54

had time and I had the money because I

play09:57

was earnings to experiment and actually

play09:59

take the time to have a regular skincare

play10:01

routine so the first product that I

play10:04

started using was vitamin C and I

play10:06

actually I still have it I and I'm still

play10:09

using it um this is started using the

play10:11

wow Skin Sense vitamin C face serum I

play10:14

started with a lower percentage but

play10:16

right now I use a 20% um vitamin C and

play10:20

this is really good this has vitamin C

play10:22

Wich Hazel hyaluronic acid and this

play10:25

really really helps with the glow on my

play10:27

face and I know a lot of people people

play10:29

say it's best to use vitamin C in the

play10:31

morning but for me personally it really

play10:33

really helps when I use it at night

play10:35

because when I wake up I have a great

play10:36

glow um the other ingredient or product

play10:39

that really helped my skin is hyaluronic

play10:41

acid because it made it nice and plumpy

play10:43

and I didn't have the D tired dehydrated

play10:47

dull look anymore uh for hyaluronic acid

play10:50

for sometimes I would use the serum I

play10:52

really like hyaluronic acid in

play10:54

moisturizers I've used the L'Oreal one

play10:56

and right now I'm using the minimalist

play10:58

vitamin B five 10% moisturizer um I

play11:02

really like this one particularly it's

play11:05

it's like a light gel it's perfect if

play11:07

you have oily skin sweaty skin and this

play11:11

is something you guys had recommended in

play11:12

the comments so thank you very much for

play11:14

this um yeah so I started using products

play11:18

and I kind of went overboard also a

play11:20

little bit because I was started having

play11:23

like a 10-step routine where I would use

play11:25

so many serums Essences oils I think

play11:27

everyone goes through this when they

play11:29

just start their skincare routine about

play11:31

how you know you kind of get so

play11:33

overwhelmed with all this information

play11:34

you buy end up buying everything BHA ah

play11:36

everything now I've just reduced my

play11:38

skincare routine to just four steps

play11:40

which is face wash serum moisturizer

play11:45

sunscreen and at night I follow the same

play11:47

thing at night I just don't put

play11:49

sunscreen uh this also helps me on days

play11:51

when I feel lazy and you know I know I

play11:54

don't have like to spend 15 20 minutes

play11:56

doing skin care I can just do it quickly

play11:58

and go to to sleep but I have to admit

play12:00

there is also some something really nice

play12:02

about at the end of the day taking that

play12:04

time for yourself you have all your

play12:06

products listening to music or a podcast

play12:09

one by one you put it let it dry apply

play12:11

it like it's it's a very I really like

play12:14

that routine when I was following the

play12:17

super super complicated routine but um I

play12:21

realized that my skin really didn't need

play12:23

it um and it's completely doing okay

play12:27

with just the four step and uh another

play12:29

thing that's also helped my skin is

play12:31

undergoing certain treatments like Hydra

play12:33

facials I do them at a clinic in mango

play12:35

called a te by alenza and they have been

play12:38

very good for my skin the glow it gives

play12:40

me is unmatched I did before my wedding

play12:42

also and my skin was glowing so yes all

play12:45

of these procedures I I don't think

play12:46

anybody talks about it or mentions it

play12:49

but these also have like an added boost

play12:51

to your skin care but again these are

play12:53

quite expensive so um I would do it all

play12:57

once in 3 months or something uh they

play12:59

range from 3,000 to 5,000 for one

play13:01

session but um I don't think it's needed

play13:04

for regular maintenance I would say only

play13:06

if you have a big event coming up and

play13:08

you really want your like I have I have

play13:10

very prone to blackheads cuz I have

play13:12

pretty large pores so when I feel like I

play13:15

have a lot of blackheads and the usual

play13:18

face cleanup that they do at salons used

play13:19

to ruin my skin because they would dig

play13:22

so much it used to be red then I would

play13:24

get p and like it made things even worse

play13:27

and I would get scars so

play13:29

this one uh where they use like a

play13:31

magnetic thing to just do like this and

play13:34

they very gently extract all the

play13:36

blackheads so I really really like that

play13:39

um but yeah overall I think main factors

play13:43

have been a growing up definitely

play13:46

because you don't have all of your

play13:48

hormones going crazy over producing oil

play13:52

um so if you are if you are a teenager

play13:55

watching this know that your skin will

play13:57

get better mainly because if most of

play13:59

your acne is hormonal acne you have you

play14:03

get a lot of pus filled acne you get a

play14:05

lot of like you have extremely oily skin

play14:08

like I did that will reduce when you

play14:10

grow up because then your hormone settle

play14:11

down but uh one main thing is just to

play14:14

wash your face regularly that's the

play14:16

basic thing you can do and put sunscreen

play14:19

because it really really helps

play14:20

protecting your skin um and also when

play14:22

you're using a face wash don't use

play14:24

overly harsh ones I really like the

play14:27

simple skincare one um that's been

play14:29

really nice seta is also a really good

play14:31

option I know saave is come in but it's

play14:34

a little expensive so I think seta for

play14:38

me is like the perfect cleanser if you

play14:40

have very sensitive acne prone skin

play14:42

because it doesn't strip your skin it

play14:45

doesn't make it extra harsh it doesn't

play14:48

damage it like you know like I can't

play14:51

believe when I was a teenager I used to

play14:53

use exfoliants on my acne skin thing if

play14:56

I scrub enough that it'll go like

play15:00

what did I do to my face

play15:03

no yeah so there are so many mistakes

play15:06

that I've made but um overall skin care

play15:10

has been a journey that skin will get

play15:13

better um the main thing is exercise

play15:16

drink water have a simple skin care

play15:20

routine remember to wash your face every

play15:22

night before you go to bed don't touch

play15:24

your face like now I have completely

play15:25

stopped trying to push out any

play15:27

blackheads that I see like I've stopped

play15:29

it cuz I've seen the marks that it

play15:31

leaves behind and it's not it takes so

play15:34

long to go those dark marks so now I've

play15:37

stopped that and uh your skin will get

play15:39

better dude it will and you will find

play15:41

the products that work for you I took a

play15:44

long time to find the products that work

play15:45

for me and hopefully that Journey will

play15:47

be shorter for you and that you have

play15:49

good skin and that even if you do get

play15:51

pimples it's okay it happens to everyone

play15:53

uh don't worry about it no one's looking

play15:55

at it but if you had any products that

play15:57

you know you can mention your skin type

play15:59

and the products you use and if that

play16:00

really helped I'm sure like the comments

play16:02

are a beautiful place to discover new

play16:05

products so thank you for the community
