Transcripts
tell us more about the deped's plans
joining us now live is education under
secretary San Antonio good morning you
said thank you for speaking to us now
you said when you say distance learning
what specific platforms will be used and
how exactly will it be done
good morning Miss Riya good morning to
all viewers when we talk about distance
learning we actually consider
several platforms
first for Learners without access to the
internet we will use the printed
self-learning modules
and for those with access to the
internet we will use the online distance
learning modality
and it's also possible in certain places
where gadgets like tablets could have
the learning resources so the Learners
may also use instead of printed Learning
Materials so they can use um
offline digital
um learn self learning materials for
their learning activities
you said how do we ensure though
um that all students in the country have
access whether as you said it is through
um something digital or pen and paper
of course we're assuming that um
the Learners would most of them would
really um be preparing the printed
self-learning modules and right now
um we're in the process of preparing the
the modules which can come in different
formats as mentioned those um for online
will be accessed by our Learners through
the depth at Commons and we also even
have our Learning Resource portal as
well and
um for the printed ones the teachers
starting June 1 are already expected to
be um rendering Services whether
personally in school or virtually as
well and all they they have to do is
actually prepared
learning action activity sheets that
should come with uh self-learning
modules that we are developing right now
the Regional Offices and the division
offices are actually held
produce the self-learning modules
for this uh self-learning modules you
said that you say would be printed out
um how are the students or the parents
go about actually physically getting
them
there would be several options in areas
where
um Blended learning is allowed because
um the iatf guidelines would allow
teachers and Learners to be in school in
certain parts observing social
distancing they can personally
um get the learning resources themselves
in areas where
um it's not going to be allowed because
the area is still under a high risk
category
um the options would be like um we will
work with our ever reliable local uh
barangay officials or local government
officials that may actually have the
like the Manpower the volunteers who can
help us distribute them we will also in
certain areas where teachers are
Wheeling they may also do
um like deliver
um the learning resources to the
Learners in their classes if they are
willing and if the I mean if they're
healthy and they are willing to do that
so I'm very imagining that in most
places it's really going to be Blended
there would still be face to face but we
will have to make sure that not everyone
in the class will be in school every day
so most likely uh there would still be a
contact with a teacher so the delivery
would be not as difficult and
challenging in those areas and we
anticipate that this would be the case
in most areas and those areas that will
be considered really highly highly risky
we just have the spatial Arrangements
that we're considering right now
last question
are you sick with this setup in your
assessment how ready is the deped for
this new style of teaching
I think we're just uh on time I mean
within the timelines we have set because
uh what we really wish to be able to do
is before June 1 we'll be ready with the
first four weeks of self-learning
modules in various formats so that um
yeah the teachers would have references
in preparing the
um contextualized learning activity
sheets that they they will provide for
their Learners so we're we're on
schedule
um we're hopefully uh going to be ready
with the things we have told ourselves
we should be ready uh before the end of
May
all right thank you for your time this
morning Depp and under secretary jusdado
