📖 Invitation to Find Rest in Jesus

The speaker begins by reading Matthew 11:28-30, which is an invitation from Jesus to come to him and find rest from burdens and weariness. He emphasizes that this is a direct invitation for everyone, not just some. The speaker highlights that Jesus promises to give rest to those who come to him, unlike human events where guests are expected to bring gifts.

05:01

🕯️ True Rest Comes from Jesus, Not Religion

The speaker discusses the difference between Jesus and the temple sacrifices. While the sacrifices in the temple are great, Jesus is greater than the sacrifices. The true rest and comfort that people seek cannot be found in just going to church or through sacrifices, but by coming directly to Jesus. He emphasizes that Jesus wants to give rest to those who are weary, without any prerequisites or conditions.

10:04

⚖️ Jesus Values People More Than Religion

The speaker talks about the incident where Jesus healed a man with a shriveled hand on the Sabbath, despite objections from religious leaders. Jesus prioritized helping the man over following religious rules, emphasizing that a person's well-being is more valuable than rigid religious traditions. The speaker urges Christians not to become so focused on religion that they miss the needs of people.

15:04

🌱 Finding Peace Through Surrender, Not Works

The speaker suggests that some people try to find peace and comfort through their own works and efforts, rather than surrendering and trusting God. He emphasizes that Jesus wants people to come to him, even in their brokenness, and he will give them rest and peace. The focus should be on having a relationship with Jesus, not just following religious practices or rules.

20:05

🚶‍♀️ Walking with Jesus: A Transformational Relationship

The speaker contrasts a transactional relationship, where people remain only as long as they receive something in return, with a transformational relationship with Jesus. Walking with Jesus is a partnership that allows for growth and selfless giving. It's about spending time with him and learning from his example, at a pace that is comfortable for each person.

25:05

🌳 The Unforced Rhythms of Grace

The speaker emphasizes that Jesus invites people to walk with him and learn the "unforced rhythms of grace." This means letting go of control and trusting Jesus to carry their burdens, rather than trying to bear them alone. Jesus' yoke is light, and he promises to show people how to maintain rest and peace in their lives.

30:08

🔄 The Transformative Power of Relationship with Jesus

The speaker contrasts being "unequally yoked" with religion, where people are burdened and stagnant, with being yoked with Jesus, which brings freedom and movement. He emphasizes that following Jesus and keeping his commandments should not be burdensome when done out of love and relationship, not obligation. A true relationship with Jesus transforms and renews people's perspectives and desires.

35:10

🔥 Rekindling the Passion for Serving Jesus

The speaker challenges the audience to examine their motivations for serving in ministry and reading the Bible. He urges them to rekindle their passion for serving Jesus out of love and desire, not obligation or burden. He encourages them to approach their faith with the same enthusiasm and preparation they would for other important events in their lives.

40:11

🌅 The Privilege of Intimacy with God

The speaker emphasizes that having a relationship with Jesus and serving him should be seen as a privilege, not a burden. He encourages the audience to prioritize their time with God and not treat it as an obligation or something to be rushed through. The speaker reminds them that true intimacy with God comes from a desire to honor and please him, not just going through religious motions.

45:13

💝 The Father's Sacrifice and Invitation

The speaker reflects on the sacrifice made by God the Father in giving his Son, Jesus, for the salvation of the world. He emphasizes that God chose to extend his grace and invitation for a relationship out of love, not obligation. The speaker then issues an invitation for those who are weary and burdened to come to Jesus and accept his free gift of salvation.

50:13

🙏 Altar Call for Salvation and Renewal

The speaker concludes by giving an altar call, inviting those who want to accept salvation through Jesus or renew their relationship with him to come forward. Keywords

💡Rest

Rest in the context of the script refers to a spiritual and emotional state of peace and relief from burdens, specifically offered by Jesus to those who are weary and burdened. The script emphasizes Jesus' invitation to 'come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest,' highlighting the promise of spiritual rejuvenation and ease of burden through a relationship with Jesus. This concept is central to the message, illustrating the transformative power of accepting Jesus' invitation to find solace and strength in Him.

💡Yoke

A yoke is traditionally a wooden beam used between a pair of oxen to enable them to pull together on a load. In the script, Jesus' use of 'yoke' symbolizes the relationship and teachings He offers to His followers. When Jesus says 'my yoke is easy and my burden is light,' it signifies the contrast between the burdens of worldly concerns and religious legalism versus the freedom and rest found in following Him. This metaphor illustrates how partnership with Jesus lightens life's burdens through grace and love, rather than adding weight through strict religious obligations.

💡RSVP

RSVP, an abbreviation for the French phrase 'répondez s'il vous plaît' meaning 'please respond,' is used metaphorically to describe the act of responding to Jesus' invitation for a relationship and spiritual rest. The speaker draws a parallel between the customary practice of responding to invitations for events and the personal decision to accept or ignore the spiritual invitation from Jesus. This concept underscores the importance of an active response to God’s call, emphasizing individual choice in the matter of spiritual commitment.

💡Sabbath

The Sabbath is traditionally a day of rest and worship observed by Jews on the seventh day of the week and by some Christians on Sunday. In the script, it is used to illustrate Jesus' teaching that He is 'Lord of the Sabbath,' emphasizing that true Sabbath rest is found in Him, not merely in observing a day or adhering to religious rules. The discussion on Sabbath in the script challenges traditional religious practices, highlighting Jesus’ message that the Sabbath was made for man's benefit, offering rest and connection with God rather than being a burden of legalistic obligation.

💡Religion vs. Relationship

This concept contrasts the external practice of religious rituals and adherence to laws with a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus. The script critiques a 'religion' that focuses on rules and appearances, advocating instead for a 'relationship' that is based on love, grace, and a personal connection with Jesus. This theme is central to the message, illustrating that spiritual fulfillment and rest are found not in religious practices but in a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus.

💡Grace

Grace is the unmerited favor of God, a key concept in Christian theology that is emphasized throughout the script. It is described as the foundation of the relationship between Jesus and His followers, highlighting that the rest, peace, and salvation offered by Jesus are gifts that cannot be earned through human effort or religious works. The script underscores grace as a transformative force that enables believers to experience the 'unforced rhythms of grace,' living in freedom rather than under the weight of legalism.

💡Transformational Relationship

This term describes a relationship with Jesus that leads to personal growth, change, and spiritual renewal. Unlike a transactional relationship based on exchanging goods or services, a transformational relationship with Jesus is characterized by mutual giving and receiving, growth, and the sharing of burdens. The script emphasizes this type of relationship as the means by which believers can experience real rest, peace, and fulfillment, highlighting the ongoing process of becoming more like Jesus through intimacy with Him.

💡Burden

In the script, 'burden' refers to the emotional, spiritual, and physical weights that individuals carry, such as stress, sin, guilt, and the demands of religious legalism. Jesus' invitation to 'come to me, all who are weary and burdened,' presents Him as the one who can relieve these burdens. The concept is crucial to understanding the message of finding relief and rest in Jesus, as opposed to the exhaustion that comes from trying to carry these burdens alone or through religious efforts.

💡Legalism

Legalism is the excessive adherence to law or formula in religious practice. The script challenges legalism by illustrating how it can lead to judgment, exclusion, and a focus on rituals over relationship. Jesus' teachings and actions, as recounted, confront the legalistic practices of the religious leaders of His time, advocating for mercy, grace, and love over strict observance of laws. This concept is used to argue that true rest and peace come from grace through faith, not from fulfilling religious obligations.

💡Invitation

The 'invitation' in the script refers to Jesus' call to individuals to enter into a relationship with Him, characterized by grace, rest, and freedom from burdens. It emphasizes the voluntary nature of responding to Jesus, likened to responding to an invitation to a special event. This concept highlights the personal decision to accept Jesus' offer of salvation and rest, underscoring the theme of individual choice and the transformative power of accepting Jesus' invitation to a life of faith.

Highlights

Jesus in his very word said come to me the other title that I would give you, is, RSVP, RSVP now whenever you and I receive an, invitation for a wedding or a special, event they would ask ask you to, RSVP now RSVP is a French term that, translates to, respond if you, please.

Our relationship with Jesus is, not a forced, relationship he leaves it open-ended if, you want to be in relationship with him, then you have that opportunity to do, that the very words of Jesus is this, come to me all of you, not just some of you but come to me all, of you all of us have experienced being, weary or having a heavy burden he is, saying come to me all of you who are, heavy, burdened if you are weary Jesus says, come to me.

He simply says come to me all, of you and I would give you a gift and that, gift is rest how many of us here today, we need rest like we need a restful mind, we need a restful, heart I mean some of us we're having, nightmares we can't even sleep at night, you're sleeping but you're not sleeping, have you ever tried to sleep but your, mind keeps on running it just never, shuts down.

Jesus doesn't say come to, sacrifice church folks he doesn't say, come to sacrifice he says come to me all, who are weary and burdensome and I would, be your, Sabbath I would give you, rest it's not lined up on a day it's, lined up on who he is I am your, Sabbath.

Jesus is saying the highest point of, your favor is not what you do but is who, you, serve Sabbath means this it means rest, and it was intended for man and not for, man for the Sabbath in other words God, did not create Sabbath so that it can, control you God created Sabbath so that, it can work for you and although the, Sabbath is to be kept holy whenever it's, misused it will not give you rest.

Jesus is still talking here then he said, to the man stretch out your hand so not, only does he respond to the religious, leaders who are trying to Corner him for, blasphemy he then asks the man with the, shriv hand to pull it out so the Bible, says he stretched it out and it was, completely, restored they became, eyewitness of the miracle.

We got to be careful that we, don't become so churchy that we miss, people we got to be careful that we, don't become so churchy that we use the, Bible so that we can slap them versus, using the Bible so that we can Inspire, them we we got to be careful that we, don't become holier than D because we, are connected to Jesus that we should, downgrade everybody else who is not at, the same level that we are at.

The Bible, was never to hit people across the face, the Bible was supposed to be a, foundation that they can stand on and we, ought to be a reflection of that Grace, the same Grace that was extended to us, when we were hard-headed that same Grace, that was given to us when we weren't, listening to Jesus that same Grace that, when we were rebellious and it was, extended to us God is saying use that, words as a rock for others to stand on, not to beat the come down to their, grave.

Jesus does not want to, have Jesus doesn't want to have a, transactional, relationship a transactional, relationship is is like a business, transaction it is a deal built on, staying in the relationship as long as, you have something to, offer so Jesus as long as as you give me, what I need then I'm going to remain in, relationship with, you there is no relationship that will, last intimately no relationship no, dating relationship no friendship, relationship there is no relationship, that would last if it's only based on, transactional because transactional, relationship means that I'm only in it, because you got something to offer me.

Walking with Jesus is, transformational and the reason that it, is transformational is because walking, is a pace that you and I can handle it, is time spent now if you ever ever, walked with a loved one holding their, hands and walking there is an intimacy, in that there is time to talk there is, time to to spend with each other and, there is a pace that both in both of us, can handle.

A yoke is a wooden, bar that oxs will wear and share the, burden by pulling the weight, together so oxin will pull the weight, you can you can see from this picture, you can see that they're both strong you, you can see that they're both capable of, sharing the weight but this image that, you're looking at right now is not what, Jesus is referring to Jesus is not, saying come to me right and I and we, will share the, weight Jesus promises that his yoke is, light which means while you walk with, him he will take on your, burdens.

Jesus not only will take your, burdens but he will show you how to, maintain, your, rest this is not about only holding, jesus' hand whenever we need something, from, him this is about us holding his hand, every single day this is about us, depending on his, wisdom that when we are in a position, where God has given us the strength that, we need and we necessarily don't need to, hold his hand anymore this is the moment, where you should squeeze jesus' hand a, little bit, tighter.

You should have a desire to please him you, should have a desire to worship him you, should have a desire to honor him and, Christians we've got to hear I am, blowing the hor I am sounding the alarm, you have got to be careful that you are, not playing with fire when God is, teaching us to be holy for he is Holy, but we keep on playing with that line, telling oursel that God is going to be, there.

Serving Jesus following Jesus is, is not a, chore this it's not a, chore it's not supposed to be a, burden it's not a burden you know why, because I want to be in relationship, with, Jesus so when I read his word and it, teaches, me about him this word is supposed to, disciple me so that I can apply it into, my, life.

Jesus never forced a relationship with, us listen to this he made the choice to, die and he made a choice to extend his, grace because he want wanted, to and this morning as I was praying for, this, word I was actually talking to my wife, and I said man baby it just hit, me we highlight so much about, Jesus but we forget that the father had, to make sacrifice as, well for God so loved the world that he, gave his only and begotten, son that whosoever believe in him him, shall not perish but have everlasting, life the father didn't have to give his, son to us he wanted to give his son to, us so much, so that when the, son was asking his father to take the, cup of suffering away from him his, father denied his requests by remaining, silent because he, chose, us.

play02:05

translates to

play02:07

respond if you

play02:09

play02:11

selective because your name is on it and

play02:15

some invitations would actually put how

play02:17

many are

play02:19

invited on the receiving end it is our

play02:21

responsibility to respond so if you

play02:24

accept you would put the number of

play02:26

people attending and mail back let me

play02:29

park for a moment if you say you're

play02:31

play02:45

is another note don't take more

play02:52

people to a

play02:54

party and and and invite your whole crew

play02:58

with you if it was only two people that

play03:00

were invited like it's just just stick

play03:03

with just stick with the

play03:06

number so if you if you accept it what

play03:10

we'll do is we'll we'll mail back the

play03:13

invitation nowadays we can actually

play03:16

electronically

play03:17

respond if you don't respond the

play03:20

assumption is you're not

play03:24

coming I want you to know here today

play03:26

that God has sent us an invitation

play03:31

and it is up to us to either respond to

play03:33

this invitation or to not

play03:37

respond our relationship with Jesus is

play03:40

not a forced

play03:42

relationship he leaves it open-ended if

play03:45

you want to be in relationship with him

play03:49

then you have that opportunity to do

play03:52

that the very words of Jesus is this

play03:56

come to me all of you

play04:00

not just some of you but come to me all

play04:04

of you all of us have experienced being

play04:07

weary or having a heavy burden he is

play04:10

saying come to me all of you who are

play04:13

heavy

play04:14

burdened if you are weary Jesus says

play04:17

come to me so he sends invites to every

play04:20

tired heart he he sends invites to every

play04:23

tired

play04:24

Soul he gives us an invitation so that

play04:28

we can partner with him now you and I

play04:31

know that life can be very hard much

play04:34

distress disappointment Sorrows has

play04:36

anybody experience disappointments or

play04:40

Sorrows

play04:41

sadness for some of us we've had

play04:44

sleepless

play04:45

nights Many Many Tears overflow of

play04:51

tears and what I love about God is that

play04:54

he doesn't give us stipulations or rules

play04:57

before coming to him

play05:00

he is saying that if this is what you're

play05:03

feeling or this is what you're going

play05:05

through then

play05:06

come Come Just As You Are come with your

play05:10

Broken Heart come with your confused

play05:14

mind he he doesn't give you an

play05:17

assignment to work on or ask you to

play05:19

change or fix a few things in your life

play05:22

before Drawing Near to him all he does

play05:25

it says

play05:27

come draw near to me and Jes Jesus says

play05:29

I'll draw near to you come with your

play05:33

broken self that's all he says all of

play05:36

you and I will watch this I will give

play05:39

you rest here is the gift if you come to

play05:43

me here is the promise if you come to me

play05:46

if you come to me I would give you rest

play05:49

if your tired Soul comes to me I'll give

play05:52

you rest if you're weary I'll give you

play05:55

rest that is a promise now the

play05:58

difference between between us and God is

play06:01

this when you and I throw a party and we

play06:03

send out an

play06:06

invitation when they come to our

play06:08

birthday party we are expecting them to

play06:10

buy us a gift how many you know what I'm

play06:12

talking

play06:13

about if I invite you to my party don't

play06:16

come to my party empty-handed I expect

play06:19

you to buy me a gift if not you're

play06:25

cheap if I invite you to come to my

play06:28

wedding it is

play06:30

it is it'll be nice for you to bring a

play06:32

gift but God works the opposite

play06:34

way when God sends an

play06:38

invitation he gives you a

play06:41

gift when he tells you to come to me so

play06:44

in this Essence he says all who are

play06:46

weary come to me and if you come to me

play06:50

I'm going to give you a gift and that

play06:52

gift is rest how many of us here today

play06:55

we need rest like we need a restful mind

play06:58

we need a restful

play07:00

heart I mean some of us we're having

play07:02

nightmares we can't even sleep at night

play07:04

you're sleeping but you're not sleeping

play07:06

have you ever tried to sleep but your

play07:07

mind keeps on running it just never

play07:10

shuts down he simply says come to me all

play07:13

of you and I would give you a gift Not

play07:16

only would I give you a gift of rest but

play07:18

whatever it is that you need the Bible

play07:21

teaches us that he sent us an invitation

play07:23

for

play07:24

salvation he sent us an invitation so

play07:27

that we can be one with him

play07:30

come with me I if you continue to read

play07:32

the scripture in chapter 12 I want you

play07:35

to know that there has become um there

play07:38

is a discussion about

play07:41

Sabbath the disciples were hungry so

play07:43

they started to pick up some grains from

play07:45

the fields and they ate them now I want

play07:48

you to track with me

play07:49

here because when it comes to Salvation

play07:53

when it comes to rest God just wants you

play07:56

to come to him there's nothing that you

play07:58

could do to work or earn what God has to

play08:02

offer so the the religious group

play08:04

approached Jesus and said they were

play08:07

breaking a law for working on the

play08:09

Sabbath they were upset because they

play08:12

were picking up grains and they were

play08:14

eating Jesus corrects them by saying the

play08:17

priest breaks the Sabbath all the time

play08:21

because they have to do God's work on

play08:23

the

play08:23

Sabbath now Jesus was proven a point how

play08:27

selective and biased a practice of the

play08:31

Sabbath was then Jesus says in Matthew

play08:34

12 6-8 follow me here I tell you that

play08:39

something greater than the temple is

play08:43

here if you had known what these words

play08:46

mean I desire listen to this Mercy not

play08:51

sacrifice you would not have condemned

play08:54

the innocent for the son of man is the

play08:58

Lord of the

play09:00

Sabbath the son of man is the lord of

play09:03

the Sabbath Now understand temple temple

play09:06

was a place of sacrifice few months ago

play09:09

we went on a whole Tabernacle series and

play09:12

in that series I taught you that it was

play09:14

a place of sacrifice that the first

play09:16

entrance was the

play09:18

Altar and only the priest and the holy

play09:22

uh and and the and the high priest was

play09:25

able to go into the temple it was a

play09:27

place of sacrifice Jesus is saying in

play09:30

this

play09:31

scripture I tell you something greater

play09:34

than the temple is here there are so

play09:37

many people that are looking at

play09:39

sacrifice and think that the sacrifice

play09:41

is the highest point of God's favor and

play09:44

yet Jesus is saying the highest point of

play09:46

your favor is not what you do but is who

play09:49

you

play09:50

serve Sabbath means this it means rest

play09:55

and it was intended for man and not for

play09:57

man for the Sabbath in other words God

play10:00

did not create Sabbath so that it can

play10:03

control you God created Sabbath so that

play10:07

it can work for you and although the

play10:10

Sabbath is to be kept holy whenever it's

play10:14

misused it will not give you rest let me

play10:17

break this thing down a little bit

play10:18

deeper Jesus is saying religion and its

play10:22

tradition will not give you

play10:25

rest that our routine will not give us

play10:29

rest following rules being good doing

play10:32

good would not give you rest what will

play10:35

give you rest is all Who Come to

play10:40

Me Jesus then goes to

play10:44

church he then goes to church and the

play10:47

religious group presents a man with a

play10:49

shrivel hand in hopes that Jesus will

play10:52

work and help this man by breaking the

play10:55

law so they can arrest Jesus they wanted

play10:58

to pit him with with blasphemy now when

play11:00

on the Sabbath you were not supposed to

play11:02

work they created all of these rules in

play11:05

supporting the Sabbath healing someone

play11:09

was one of the requirements that was

play11:11

against the law so they tried to ask

play11:14

Jesus this question is it unlawful to

play11:18

heal on the Sabbath listen to what Jesus

play11:22

has to

play11:23

say Matthew 12 11-13 he said to them if

play11:27

any of you has a sheep and it falls into

play11:30

a pit on the Sabbath will you not take

play11:33

hold of it and lift it

play11:35

out here's the line that you have to

play11:38

underline how much more valuable is a

play11:41

person than a

play11:43

sheep how much more valuable is a person

play11:46

than

play11:47

religion how much more valuable is a

play11:50

person than the law how much more

play11:52

valuable is a

play11:54

person than religion therefore it is

play11:58

lawful to to do good on the Sabbath

play12:00

Jesus is still talking here then he said

play12:03

to the man stretch out your hand so not

play12:06

only does he respond to the religious

play12:09

leaders who are trying to Corner him for

play12:11

blasphemy he then asks the man with the

play12:15

shriv hand to pull it out so the Bible

play12:18

says he stretched it out and it was

play12:21

completely

play12:24

restored they became

play12:26

eyewitness of the miracle

play12:29

we have got to be careful that we don't

play12:31

become so churchy that we miss

play12:36

people we got to be careful that we

play12:39

don't become so churchy that we use the

play12:41

Bible so that we can slap them versus

play12:44

using the Bible so that we can Inspire

play12:46

them we we got to be careful that we

play12:48

don't become holier than D because we

play12:51

are connected to Jesus that we should

play12:53

downgrade everybody else who is not at

play12:56

the same level that we are at the Bible

play12:59

was never to hit people across the face

play13:02

the Bible was supposed to be a

play13:03

foundation that they can stand on and we

play13:06

ought to be a reflection of that Grace

play13:09

the same Grace that was extended to us

play13:11

when we were hard-headed that same Grace

play13:14

that was given to us when we weren't

play13:16

listening to Jesus that same Grace that

play13:19

when we were rebellious and it was

play13:21

extended to us God is saying use that

play13:24

words as a rock for others to stand on

play13:27

not to beat the come down to their

play13:33

grave we all have needs we all have

play13:36

needs but sometimes I feel Christians

play13:39

have forgotten what God has done for

play13:42

them we all have needs but sometimes I

play13:45

forget of of that we forget what what

play13:48

God has delivered us from we got to

play13:51

remind

play13:52

ourselves that we were broken and check

play13:55

this out and we're still

play13:57

broken we all have needs like like the

play14:01

Sheep who wandered off from the rest and

play14:03

fell into the hole we all have

play14:06

needs G Jesus is consistent no matter

play14:10

why you fell into the hole he extends

play14:12

his hand to pick us

play14:14

up he encourages us with his hope he

play14:19

takes us in and Embraces us not one day

play14:22

a

play14:23

week every day of the week I'm here to

play14:27

tell you that Jesus is the Sabbath seven

play14:30

days a week and I am so grateful that

play14:34

Jesus does not take a day off but yet he

play14:37

gives us himself all the time come to me

play14:43

all who are

play14:45

weary that the hurts and pains of his

play14:48

creation does not supersede the the

play14:52

practice of Sabbath according to how

play14:55

Jesus defines it how Jesus declares it I

play15:02

I believe that some of us are trying to

play15:04

find our Peace by doing the

play15:06

work we're trying to find our Peace by

play15:09

doing the work we're trying to find that

play15:10

Comfort by doing the work rather than

play15:13

surrendering and trusting

play15:15

God that when life has Us by the

play15:18

throat when we are suffering with

play15:20

emotional

play15:22

distress that our mental health is

play15:24

unstable Jesus wants to make it clear

play15:27

that something great

play15:30

that something greater is here than the

play15:33

temple something greater is here than

play15:37

the sacrifices you make in other words

play15:41

the sacrifices we make in the temple are

play15:43

great but Jesus is greater than the

play15:46

sacrifice I'm going to take you deeper

play15:49

coming to church is great but there's

play15:51

something greater you don't go to church

play15:54

you go to Jesus knowing that Jesus

play15:56

presence is in the

play15:57

church

play15:59

God does not say all who are weary come

play16:02

to church he says all who are weary come

play16:05

to me you've got it all twisted you are

play16:09

approaching it with the religious matter

play16:11

which means let me go to church cuz I

play16:13

need to be fixed and Jesus is saying you

play16:15

can go to church and walk out the same

play16:17

way but if you come to me I can fix

play16:21

you I can fix you in your home I can fix

play16:24

you in the street I can fix you no

play16:26

matter where you find yourself you don't

play16:28

need to be in a church building to be

play16:30

fixed all you need to know is come to me

play16:32

all who are all I know is that in the

play16:35

Midnight Hour these Church doors are

play16:37

closed what are you going to do then you

play16:38

can call on the name of the Lord and he

play16:40

would be with

play16:43

[Applause]

play16:45

you the sacrifices we make in the temple

play16:48

are great but there's something greater

play16:51

and that greater is

play16:53

Jesus Jesus doesn't say come to

play16:57

sacrifice church folks he doesn't say

play17:01

come to sacrifice he says come to me all

play17:04

who are weary and burdensome and I would

play17:07

be your

play17:09

Sabbath I would give you

play17:12

rest it's not lined up on a day it's

play17:15

lined up on who he is I am your

play17:19

Sabbath it takes courage and humility to

play17:22

release control and trust

play17:24

God a lot of

play17:27

humility

play17:29

it also takes understanding on how

play17:30

coming to Jesus will give you real

play17:34

rest how does coming to Jesus give you

play17:37

real rest I want to read same scripture

play17:42

Matthew 11:28-30

play17:43

but but I want to read it from The

play17:45

Message Bible and this is how it

play17:47

paraphrases it are you

play17:50

tired worn

play17:53

out burned out on

play17:56

religion come to me

play17:59

get away with me and you'll recover your

play18:02

life I'll show you how to take a real

play18:05

rest walk with me and work with me watch

play18:12

How I do it learn The unforced rhythms

play18:16

of Grace I won't lay anything heavy or

play18:19

ill fit fitting on you keep company with

play18:22

me and you'll learn to live freely and

play18:27

lightly the the key word that we cannot

play18:30

miss is with

play18:32

me God says walk with me work with me

play18:39

learn from me keep company with me that

play18:45

this is a

play18:46

relationship that this is not religion

play18:49

this is

play18:50

relationship Jesus is speaking to a

play18:52

Jewish people who has worked very hard

play18:55

in holding up the

play18:57

law policing people's behavior and in

play19:00

many instance playing God by judging and

play19:04

condemning that when you play such a

play19:06

role you have to hold up an

play19:10

image that is

play19:12

hard you have to hold up an image that

play19:15

isn't even organic it isn't even real

play19:20

and throughout scripture Jesus will call

play19:22

these religious people Hypocrites you

play19:23

know why because when they pray they

play19:26

only did it to be heard

play19:29

when they gave they only did it to be

play19:32

seen the issue isn't prayer the issue

play19:36

isn't giving the issue is the motive and

play19:39

the

play19:41

agenda matter of fact Jesus teaches us

play19:45

to give teaches us to pray but you have

play19:48

got to define the why you pray in your

play19:51

life you got to Define why you give in

play19:55

your life the Bible says that if you're

play19:57

not going to give what laugh then don't

play19:58

give at

play19:59

Allelujah keep that money to yourself

play20:02

keep your gift to yourself if all you're

play20:04

going to do is show up in Ministry and

play20:06

complain don't show up

play20:11

then don't don't show up if you have a

play20:14

complaining heart and you're always

play20:16

bickering and you're always mad and

play20:18

you're nasty ain't nobody want that

play20:20

spirit in the

play20:22

atmosphere ain't nobody want that nasty

play20:24

you have got to First work on coming to

play20:27

Jesus so that you can fix that bad

play20:28

attitude so that when you give yourself

play20:31

unto the Lord then what you offer up is

play20:33

praise and worship not your

play20:36

nasty the issue isn't these

play20:40

principles my my heart as a Christian

play20:42

breaks for those who are tired and

play20:46

you're tired because you've been

play20:47

practicing religion way too long we've

play20:50

been trying to tell people that this is

play20:51

not a religion this is a relationship

play20:54

with Jesus it is completely different

play20:57

are you feeling burn

play20:59

out are you burned out because you have

play21:02

tried all of these things that you've

play21:03

heard in the preaching and yet you are

play21:05

not seeing and feeling the fruits of it

play21:07

something's

play21:09

wrong when we treat Christianity as such

play21:12

we are missing the very essence on what

play21:15

God created us in the first place very

play21:19

simple but here's the message Jesus

play21:21

invites us to be in relationship with

play21:23

him it is an invitation to be

play21:27

one it is an

play21:29

invitation to be with him and in him if

play21:34

you're weary tired walk with me he says

play21:36

and I'll give you a gift I'll give you

play21:39

rest you know what Jesus doesn't want to

play21:42

have Jesus doesn't want to have a

play21:45

transactional

play21:46

relationship a transactional

play21:49

relationship is is like a business

play21:53

transaction it is a deal built on

play21:56

staying in the relationship as long as

play21:57

you have something to

play21:59

offer so Jesus as long as as you give me

play22:03

what I need then I'm going to remain in

play22:05

relationship with

play22:07

you there is no relationship that will

play22:10

last intimately no relationship no

play22:14

dating relationship no friendship

play22:16

relationship there is no relationship

play22:19

that would last if it's only based on

play22:21

transactional because transactional

play22:23

relationship means that I'm only in it

play22:26

because you got something to offer me

play22:29

now there is another type of

play22:31

relationship that we've really got to

play22:32

start focusing on which is the

play22:34

transformational

play22:36

relationship Jesus is not about the

play22:38

transaction he is about the

play22:39

transformational relationship the trans

play22:42

transformational relationship it gives

play22:45

us room to grow it gives us room to

play22:49

evolve it is a relationship of giving

play22:52

towards each

play22:54

other it is a relationship about

play22:57

selfless

play22:58

giving not selfish because when I am

play23:01

when I'm selfish then I am only giving

play23:03

because I'm expecting a return but when

play23:06

I am selfless I am giving because I want

play23:08

to make you PR proud I am giving because

play23:11

I love you walking with Jesus is

play23:17

transformational and the reason that it

play23:19

is transformational is because walking

play23:21

is a pace that you and I can handle it

play23:25

is time spent now if you ever ever

play23:28

walked with a loved one holding their

play23:30

hands and walking there is an intimacy

play23:34

in that there is time to talk there is

play23:38

time to to spend with each other and

play23:40

there is a pace that both in both of us

play23:42

can handle it is true that there's some

play23:46

of you who can outrun me and there are

play23:49

others that I can outrun the Bible does

play23:52

not say run with me he says walk with me

play23:56

and the reason that God said walk with

play23:58

me and not run with me is because he

play24:01

recognizes we cannot keep up in his pace

play24:04

so he throws up his pace so that we can

play24:07

be in a pace that is comfortable in

play24:09

growing in relationship my relationship

play24:12

with my wife has to be

play24:15

intentional because our lives are so

play24:18

busy that if she tries to keep up with

play24:21

me or I try to keep up with her then we

play24:23

would always miss each other so we are

play24:26

intentional about sitting down and

play24:28

spending time with each other checking

play24:33

in with one

play24:34

another God wants you to walk hand in

play24:38

hand with him every single day we work

play24:42

and we work hard we work for our

play24:45

wages we work for our career paths we

play24:49

will work in our

play24:51

relationships but Jesus says walk with

play24:54

me because my yoke is

play24:56

light it it is a different type of

play24:59

expectations you and I know even in a

play25:00

dating relationship there is

play25:02

expectations that we have to meet and at

play25:04

times it gets

play25:06

tiresome but Jesus says no if you date

play25:09

me it's a different type of

play25:11

relationship because the truth is is

play25:13

that Jesus don't need nothing from us

play25:16

and Jesus Is God all by himself he don't

play25:19

need us to feed his ego because he knows

play25:21

who he is we're the ones that need God

play25:25

so it isn't to our benefit that we walk

play25:28

with him are you with me today now let

play25:30

me take you deeper a yoke is a wooden

play25:33

bar that oxs will wear and share the

play25:36

burden by pulling the weight

play25:38

together so oxin will pull the weight

play25:41

you can you can see from this picture

play25:43

you can see that they're both strong you

play25:46

you can see that they're both capable of

play25:49

sharing the weight but this image that

play25:51

you're looking at right now is not what

play25:55

Jesus is referring to Jesus is not

play25:58

saying come to me right and I and we

play26:01

will share the

play26:03

weight Jesus promises that his yoke is

play26:07

light which means while you walk with

play26:09

him he will take on your

play26:12

burdens Jesus recognizes I am bigger and

play26:15

I am stronger than

play26:16

you all I need you to do is walk with me

play26:21

I don't need you to stop I need you to

play26:23

keep on going I'm going to carry your

play26:25

load so you're going to have to trust me

play26:27

if you trust yourself then what's going

play26:30

to happen is it's going to weigh you

play26:32

down if you put your trust in money then

play26:35

it's not going to give you what you need

play26:37

if you put your trust in a relationship

play26:39

it's not going to get you what you need

play26:40

God is trying to say these these things

play26:43

that we put our weight into or or we

play26:46

carry it's too heavy for us to bear it's

play26:50

going to crush you but put that on me

play26:53

trust me with your finances trust me

play26:56

with your relationship

play26:58

trust me with your heart trust me with

play27:02

your mind Jesus promises that his yoke

play27:06

is light because he's bigger he's

play27:08

stronger he just don't want you to stop

play27:11

he not only will take on your burdens

play27:13

but he will show you how to maintain

play27:15

your

play27:16

rest this is not about only holding

play27:20

jesus' hand whenever we need something

play27:22

from

play27:24

him this is about us holding his hand

play27:28

every single day this is about us

play27:31

depending on his

play27:34

wisdom that when we are in a position

play27:37

where God has given us the strength that

play27:39

we need and we necessarily don't need to

play27:42

hold his hand anymore this is the moment

play27:44

where you should squeeze jesus' hand a

play27:46

little bit

play27:48

tighter have you ever had have you ever

play27:51

had someone coming to you and tell you

play27:52

don't do that but you felt like you were

play27:55

ready so you did it anyways

play27:58

don't do that it it makes me laugh when

play28:01

when when when our kids sometimes they

play28:03

can't wait to leave the house I'm like

play28:04

really you can't wait to pay the bills I

play28:06

I can't wait to see you pay rent I I

play28:08

can't wait to see you pay the phone bill

play28:10

I can't wait

play28:12

to right that that's I can't

play28:16

wait but but when you when you think

play28:18

about it there are certain people who

play28:21

leave God

play28:23

premature you're holding his hand

play28:25

because you need him but when you find

play28:27

the strength and you feel like you're

play28:28

completely healed you walk away from

play28:30

Jesus thinking to yourself I can do this

play28:33

all by

play28:35

myself and the farther we are away from

play28:39

God then it is the enemy's plan so that

play28:42

it could create a distance from his

play28:46

presence Jesus not only will take your

play28:48

burdens but he will show you how to

play28:50

maintain I want to learn not only how to

play28:53

have peace but I want to learn how to

play28:55

keep

play28:56

peace I I I don't want to learn just

play28:59

peace in moments and times I want to

play29:01

learn how can this be a part of the

play29:03

fabric of my

play29:05

DNA I want to learn what it feels like

play29:08

to be comforted in the middle of my

play29:10

sadness I don't want to just be sad God

play29:13

give me comfort in my Sadness the Bible

play29:16

say blessed is the one who Mourns for

play29:18

they will be comforted that God would

play29:21

comfort you in your mourning that if

play29:23

you're grieving God says I would comfort

play29:26

you

play29:28

that Jesus himself says that every tear

play29:30

that falls from your eyes that I watch

play29:32

this now that I would put it in the jar

play29:34

and guess what and it will be returned

play29:36

as a reward

play29:38

Hallelujah see part of this journey with

play29:41

us Walking With Jesus is him discipling

play29:44

us where to put our

play29:46

Focus what to do with our burdens how to

play29:52

heal Jesus is teaching us because he

play29:55

doesn't want us to be a seasonal

play29:59

experience God doesn't want us to

play30:01

exclude him from our life he wants you

play30:03

to include

play30:04

him your burdens God says put it on me

play30:08

Jesus is saying that life is lighter

play30:11

with me than without

play30:14

me troubles and difficult times are much

play30:17

lighter when you let me carry the burden

play30:21

I can't explain it to you but I can

play30:23

explain it through

play30:24

scripture how many times I have felt the

play30:27

peace of God in the middle of my

play30:30

tribulation the tribulation is still

play30:33

there emotionally I'm still racked but

play30:36

there is a

play30:38

peace that gets me up in the

play30:41

morning it is a peace and a strength

play30:45

that allows me to take that

play30:48

step it's something that is super

play30:51

natural that only comes when you are in

play30:56

Christ

play30:57

Jesus says Watch How I do it learn the

play31:01

Rhythm and the unforced rhythm of Grace

play31:06

Grace is what God created after the fall

play31:09

of Man Grace is what gives us what we do

play31:12

not

play31:14

deserve

play31:16

Grace I like what doug clay said the

play31:19

general superintendent of AG he says the

play31:21

yoke is more partnership and relief than

play31:24

it is about

play31:25

control it is more partnership do you

play31:28

want to partner with Jesus

play31:30

today do you want to be yolked with

play31:32

Jesus

play31:33

today what will your life look like if

play31:36

you truly surrender yourself to him what

play31:39

will your life look like if you would

play31:40

Surrender Your Will to

play31:43

him we are partnering with Jesus not

play31:46

excluding but

play31:48

including now Jesus in context when he

play31:51

was saying this here's what he was

play31:53

saying he was saying I I want you to

play31:55

take off the burden of legalism towards

play31:57

the religious

play31:59

group I want to I want you to take off

play32:02

that burden of

play32:04

legalism that if you're tired of

play32:06

religion take that off because it's

play32:08

weighing you

play32:09

down this is what this is what watch

play32:11

this now this is what being unequally

play32:13

unequally yolked look like when

play32:16

religious comes before

play32:19

Jesus this is what unequally Yol looks

play32:23

like you got Jesus that is ready to walk

play32:26

with you but because you are more

play32:28

focused on religion than you are Jesus

play32:30

there's no movement in your

play32:35

life because there is no focus on Jesus

play32:39

and your faith then what happens is

play32:41

we've got people that are stagnant they

play32:44

are dry and they are dead and Jesus is

play32:47

saying draw near to me just just give me

play32:50

some of that Faith just faith enough

play32:53

that that is that is as big as a mustard

play32:55

seed that's all I need

play32:57

I don't even need your strength all I

play33:00

need is your faith in me all I need you

play33:03

to do is trust me that I am more than

play33:05

capable of helping you in the season

play33:08

that you win I know you're in a dark

play33:10

time in your life I know there is a

play33:13

cloud over you and I understand Jesus

play33:16

says that there are people that walk

play33:18

through these doors and you have a smile

play33:20

on your face but no one sees you when

play33:22

your head hits the pillow and how dark

play33:25

it is no one is there being a witness

play33:29

with the nightmares and having sleepless

play33:31

nights and Jesus says I am there all the

play33:34

time and I see

play33:37

everything this is what unequally yolked

play33:40

is when you are so much focused on the

play33:42

church then you are Jesus when you think

play33:45

that Ministry would heal you and not

play33:48

Jesus when you serve and you serve and

play33:51

you serve preaching would not heal me

play33:53

Jesus would heal me preaching is my gift

play33:57

preaching is my calling I am a pastor

play34:00

but I am beyond a pastor don't limit me

play34:03

to a title and a position I am a son of

play34:06

a god of the most high that's who I am I

play34:10

am royalty I am

play34:13

prood don't limit me to a

play34:16

position I am more than a

play34:20

position I am a

play34:23

child I am a child of God unequally

play34:28

yolked looks just like that when

play34:31

following Jesus and the Commandments

play34:33

become burdensome have you ever felt

play34:35

that like ah it's so

play34:38

hard and it becomes a burden and we have

play34:41

misplaced our relationship from intimacy

play34:45

to a

play34:47

burden God didn't create the ten

play34:49

commandments so that it could be more of

play34:50

a burden for you you know what it says

play34:53

in 1 John 53 loving God me means keeping

play34:58

his

play34:59

Commandments and his Commandments are

play35:02

not burdensome which means if the

play35:05

Commandments are burdensome to you then

play35:07

something is wrong let me tell you

play35:09

what's wrong what's wrong is that you

play35:11

have and you're carrying the spirit of

play35:13

religion on

play35:14

you if the Commandments are

play35:18

burdensome when you and I when we live

play35:20

to please from a place of love and not a

play35:23

place of obligation the relationship is

play35:25

much easier and less

play35:27

burdensome so as a Christian it brings

play35:30

me joy in keeping to his Commandments

play35:34

why because I want to keep his

play35:37

Commandments it brings me joy in keeping

play35:40

his

play35:42

Commandments I don't have to keep his

play35:44

Commandments I want to keep his

play35:47

Commandments you don't have to you can

play35:50

break all of them and the Bible says if

play35:52

you broken one you have broken all of

play35:54

them you can break them

play35:57

you can miss the mark every single day

play35:59

if you want you can choose not to

play36:02

believe God is not going to force you to

play36:04

believe him God is not going to force

play36:07

you to trust him God is not going to

play36:10

force you to love him because that is

play36:12

not a real relationship try to be in a

play36:15

relationship where you are forced to

play36:17

love somebody that you don't

play36:21

love so much

play36:23

so because I want to keep to these

play36:25

Commandments

play36:28

when I mess up I feel

play36:30

bad because I desire to love him through

play36:33

my

play36:34

obedience when I know what God has

play36:36

placed in his word for me when I

play36:39

recognize what God loves and God hates

play36:41

when I disappoint myself through not

play36:45

following through with the laws of Jesus

play36:48

it breaks my heart I wonder does it

play36:51

break your heart when you

play36:53

sin or do you just Live Another Day

play36:56

thinking to yourself what Grace is there

play36:58

that is a religious spirit that needs to

play37:00

be taken off of you you should feel the

play37:05

weight of the

play37:07

sin the Bible teaches us that when we

play37:10

repent that we will turn from meaning we

play37:13

have no desire in returning to the junk

play37:16

that God has delivered us from you

play37:19

should have a desire to please him you

play37:22

should have a desire to worship him you

play37:24

should have a desire to honor him and

play37:26

Christians we've got to hear I am

play37:28

blowing the hor I am sounding the alarm

play37:31

you have got to be careful that you are

play37:34

not playing with fire when God is

play37:37

teaching us to be holy for he is Holy

play37:40

but we keep on playing with that line

play37:43

telling oursel that God is going to be

play37:49

there serving Jesus following Jesus is

play37:53

is not a

play37:55

chore this it's not a

play37:58

chore it's not supposed to be a

play38:02

burden it's not a burden you know why

play38:06

because I want to be in relationship

play38:08

with

play38:09

Jesus so when I read his word and it

play38:12

teaches

play38:13

me about him this word is supposed to

play38:16

disciple me so that I can apply it into

play38:18

my

play38:19

life so when I read statistics that only

play38:23

11% of

play38:25

Christians read their Bible a day it

play38:27

concerns me new

play38:29

life some of y'all pray more than you

play38:31

read the word and I'm here to tell you

play38:34

that you've got to balance out your

play38:36

spirituality with him you can't just

play38:39

pray pray pray because let's just be

play38:41

honest most times when we pray we're

play38:43

asking something from

play38:44

him but how are we going to be

play38:47

shaped how are we going to be discipled

play38:51

how are we going to be corrected how are

play38:53

we going to be encouraged how are we

play38:56

going to know Our God if we only read

play38:59

the

play38:59

Bible whenever we decide to read the

play39:02

Bible I wonder how long we will live if

play39:06

we treat oxygen the same way that we

play39:08

treat reading his

play39:10

word it's not a

play39:13

burden because I want to be in

play39:15

relationship with

play39:16

him it's not a burden to come to church

play39:20

oh I got to go to church again stay

play39:24

home you could stay home

play39:29

home you hear it's not a burden to come

play39:32

to church you know what it's about it's

play39:35

about me wanting to go to church I got

play39:37

up this morning and I was excited

play39:40

because I was going to wear my shirt

play39:41

from India I got excited because I

play39:44

matched my clothes and I didn't wait

play39:45

till this morning you know what I did

play39:47

I'm so giddy that last night I started

play39:49

ironing my clothes and I am preparing to

play39:52

enter the house of

play39:54

God I I'm looking looking forward to

play39:57

y'all remember the days when you used to

play39:59

go to the club you used to iron your

play40:00

clothes you used to look at yourself in

play40:03

the mirror you used to check yourself

play40:05

out you probably changed a couple of

play40:07

times before you walked out the door why

play40:09

because you wanted to look your best I

play40:11

just wonder Saints how many of us put

play40:13

that much attention into going in the

play40:15

house of

play40:19

God there you are with your with your

play40:21

CBS gear and your socks gear and your

play40:24

Bears gear I'm a sports fan so I tell

play40:26

you how many times do we cheer cheer

play40:29

cheer raah Rah raah for a team that we

play40:31

choose but yet when we come to church

play40:34

there we go we are with our Sofer Spirit

play40:37

there we go with our hands crossed there

play40:40

we go entering into a place as if it's a

play40:43

burden and not a privilege entering into

play40:46

a place where the presence of God is

play40:48

we're constantly on the clock we got to

play40:51

go to the next place we got to go to the

play40:53

appointment when is Pastor D going to

play40:55

finish preaching cuz I got something

play40:57

else to do when God is trying to tell

play40:59

you slow

play41:01

down slow

play41:06

down isn't it funny we are seeking a

play41:10

miracle from God but we put him on a

play41:16

clock we put them on a clock you know

play41:19

why half of people would not come to

play41:20

Thanksgiving service cuz you're going to

play41:22

be too busy putting a turkey in an

play41:25

oven

play41:28

people won't even come to Christmas Eve

play41:29

service why because they're too busy

play41:31

getting the house ready to have a

play41:35

party got to set our priorities

play41:39

straight this it's not a

play41:42

burden is that a burden to serve in

play41:47

Ministry people always come to me

play41:49

especially how do you do it it's not a

play41:51

burden I love what I

play41:52

[Music]

play41:54

do is it hard

play41:58

yes listen God gave me a

play42:02

gift and I have no desire to sit on

play42:05

[Music]

play42:07

it go God is giving me

play42:10

something so that I can use it for

play42:13

him how how many of

play42:15

us are sitting on a

play42:20

gift don't don't don't be cute about it

play42:23

oh I do this for the glory of God you

play42:24

don't do it for the glory of God you do

play42:25

it for your

play42:26

Glory my business I do it for the glory

play42:29

of God but yet you ain't spending time

play42:30

with God you ain't faithful with your

play42:31

Tidings you you you just you're just

play42:33

doing and doing and doing but yet you

play42:35

have no time I'm doing it for the glory

play42:37

you're not doing it for the glory of God

play42:39

it's like putting lipstick on a

play42:43

pig am I am I am I preaching hard

play42:53

[Applause]

play42:55

today

play42:57

life life is

play43:00

hard every time a teacher comes to me

play43:02

and says I want to get out I will always

play43:05

ask him did Jesus tell you to get

play43:08

out no this just just listen to me did

play43:11

Jesus tell you to leave your job like if

play43:13

you're a teacher don't you think that we

play43:15

need more

play43:17

faithful Bible

play43:22

believing people in the school

play43:25

system

play43:26

am no if if if God told you to shift

play43:30

then you

play43:33

shift but you don't do it because it's

play43:36

hard God didn't

play43:39

create us to be

play43:41

weak and to allow challenges to defeat

play43:45

us we don't give

play43:47

up on our Prof in our on on on

play43:51

our prodigal sons or daughters because

play43:54

it's hard

play43:57

we love

play43:59

them it's not a

play44:03

burden to serve

play44:06

Jesus it's a

play44:08

blessing it's an

play44:11

honor it's not a

play44:16

burden when we feel like our

play44:19

relationship with Jesus is a

play44:21

burden we have now turned our want

play44:24

to into have

play44:27

to we have turned

play44:30

intimacy into

play44:36

obligation I'll close it here I got a

play44:38

lot more to say but I'll close it right

play44:39

here

play44:41

Jesus never forced a relationship with

play44:44

us listen to this he made the choice to

play44:49

die and he made a choice to extend his

play44:54

grace because he want wanted

play44:57

to and this morning as I was praying for

play45:00

this

play45:01

word I was actually talking to my wife

play45:03

and I said man baby it just hit

play45:06

me we highlight so much about

play45:09

Jesus but we forget that the father had

play45:12

to make sacrifice as

play45:15

well for God so loved the world that he

play45:20

gave his only and begotten

play45:23

son that whosoever believe in him him

play45:26

shall not perish but have everlasting

play45:29

life the father didn't have to give his

play45:34

son to us he wanted to give his son to

play45:45

us so much

play45:48

so that when the

play45:50

son was asking his father to take the

play45:54

cup of suffering away from him his

play45:58

father denied his requests by remaining

play46:02

silent because he

play46:06

chose

play46:11

us this thing is deeper than a

play46:16

religion this thing is about a

play46:19

relationship a

play46:22

transformational relationship would you

play46:24

stand to your feet

play46:27

[Music]

play46:40

here's my

play46:43

call matter of fact put up the scripture

play46:45

for me re Revelations

play46:51

22:17 the Holy Spirit and the bride the

play46:56

church believer say

play46:59

come and let the one who hears say

play47:03

come and let the one who is thirsty come

play47:07

and let the one who wishes take and

play47:09

drink the water of

play47:11

life without

play47:14

cost salvation is

play47:17

free growing in your

play47:21

faith is different from the actual

play47:24

Saving Grace

play47:27

the Bible teaches us that it is by his

play47:30

grace that we are saved which means

play47:32

there is no works that you and I have to

play47:35

do now if you want to develop your faith

play47:38

the Bible says you ought to work out

play47:40

your

play47:41

salvation which means that there are

play47:43

principles that God teaches us which is

play47:45

one is here walk with him let him

play47:48

disciple him let him disciple you but if

play47:52

you're here today and you're saying I

play47:54

want that free gift of

play47:57

Salvation I want Jesus to save me not

play48:00

religion maybe you're in this place and

play48:02

religion has gotten you

play48:05

tired maybe you have put the focus in

play48:07

all the wrong places you have been a

play48:09

faithful member you've been a faithful

play48:11

tither you have been faithful in the

play48:13

things that you have done here at New

play48:15

Life Covenant but you still find

play48:16

yourself tired and God is trying to tell

play48:19

you you have got to come to

play48:23

me I will satisfy your

play48:27

thirst I would feed you bread that would

play48:31

satisfy your

play48:32

hunger would you bow your heads and

play48:34

close your eyes if you're in this place

play48:36

and you say Pastor D would you pray for

play48:38

me I want salvation I want to be in

play48:40

relationship with Jesus I want to be one

play48:43

with him if that is you would you lift

play48:44

up your hands where you're at we want to

play48:46

pray for you anybody else I see hands

play48:48

that are lifted I want to be maybe

play48:50

you're a prodal maybe you're one that

play48:52

has run from Jesus and Jesus is saying

play48:54

here today come come to me all who are

play48:58

weary if you're here today and you're

play49:00

saying pastor D I have been blinded by

play49:02

religion I have saw things the wrong way

play49:04

but today I am ready to commit myself

play49:07

and run to Jesus Jesus says come to me

play49:10

all who are weary all who are tired if

play49:13

you are weary if you are tired if you

play49:15

feel sadness if you are disappointed I

play49:18

want to tell you here today Jesus says

play49:20

my yoke is light cast all your cares

play49:24

upon the Lord no one and nothing can

play49:27

give you what Jesus can give you you

play49:29

have tried everything else but today I

play49:31

tell you try Jesus if that is you lift

play49:34

up your hands right where you're at and

play49:36

this call is for those of you that are

play49:37

watching online as well when I count to

play49:40

three what I want you to do with every

play49:42

courage and with humility get out of

play49:44

your seats and make your way up here at

play49:46

the altar let me tell you what insanity

play49:48

is insanity is wanting to change but yet

play49:51

doing the same thing over and over

play49:53

expecting different results if you want

play49:55

to see new results I'm here to tell you

play49:57

you are a new creation in Christ Jesus

play49:59

he'll give you new results he'll give

play50:01

you new breath he'll give you new

play50:03

strength he'll give you new hope he'll

play50:05

give you new peace if that is you today

play50:07

when I count to three just come out of

play50:09

your seats one two three let the Holy

play50:13

Spirit pull you from your seat meet me

play50:16

at this altar this is not about religion

play50:18

this is about Jesus this is not about

play50:21

your deals this is about your heart

play50:24

desires
