🛴 King Song S18 Review After 1000 Kilometers
The script begins with the reviewer introducing the King Song S18 electric unicycle after using it for 1000 kilometers. They purchased it at a special price from myevil.com and have been using it extensively. The reviewer finds the S18 fun and easy to use but admits to having had enough of it. They discuss two main issues: a serious one where the wheel became unresponsive after a big jump, leaving them stranded, and a less serious one regarding an annoying sound when braking, especially downhill. The reviewer also comments on the wheel's durability, mentioning a few cosmetic issues but overall satisfaction with its performance as a commuter wheel for shorter distances. They praise the S18's suspension setup, which they find easy to adjust and the best on the market, but express a preference for a more bouncy setting for comfort.
🤔 Diminishing Excitement and Performance Issues
In the second paragraph, the reviewer discusses the diminishing excitement of using the S18, especially for tasks like jumping stairs which have become routine. They share a story about their friend's S18 breaking down, likely due to excessive use on stairs. The reviewer also mentions their recent purchase of the MSB high torque wheel, which has met all their performance needs, contrasting it with the S18's limitations in speed and hill climbing. They describe the S18 as fun and friendly but lacking in power, especially when equipped with power pads which made it prone to beeping errors and reduced performance. The reviewer also compares the S18 with the Tesla wheel in terms of battery life, noting the S18's superior endurance.
🔄 Considering a Change: Performance and Comfort Comparison
The final paragraph sees the reviewer contemplating the future use of the S18. With the acquisition of the MSB, they find less purpose for the S18, as it can't match the performance and range of the new wheel. They reflect on the S18's role in learning new tricks and its smooth ride but acknowledge that for longer commutes and more intense use, the Monster Pro or the MSB is more suitable. The reviewer concludes by expressing their intention to sell the S18 and possibly replace it with a Monster Pro, believing it to be more comfortable for everyday use despite the S18's nimbleness. Transcripts
hi and welcome to
wrong way and today
i'm going to review the king song s18
after 1000 kilometers of views so let me
tell you more about it
[Music]
so
so for those of you that don't know i
actually
bought this wheel at myevil.com for a
special price nevertheless
but it's i paid my own monies for it
it's paid off
and yeah i've been using it for around
thousand kilometers now
the recent review
at i think 600 kilometers was a bit of a
time ago
and this is because i wasn't just using
this wheel
quite so much anymore and i got to tell
you guys that all in all the feeling i
have with this wheel
is that it's extremely fun extremely
nice to use
but somehow i just sort of had enough of
it
okay but let's get back to the wheel
first and its performance over
the distance of one thousand kilometers
and
i had basically two issues with it
one of them was more serious when i
tried to jump
a big jump and i overpowered it
overpowered it i over lent it
and then it wouldn't turn on me for a
day
it was essentially dead i couldn't ride
on it
i basically had to carry it back home
while riding another s18 which is pretty
funny
other than that there were no more
technical issues
other than a pretty annoying sound when
you break especially when you go
downhill which is this
can't hear it that much here maybe when
i'll be going down the hill here you
will be able to hear it
and from the technical you know side of
things
nothing else was an issue okay let's go
down here
and listen to the motorcycle
it's like radley and clunky
oh yeah like that when it comes to the
durability of this wheel there is some
things that
left to be still desired the shell here
in the front opened up a bit that's
where
there is quite a bit of tape there
hannel has been performing flawlessly
it's pretty good for going to stores
very practical
and locks in place one of the best
handles but you have to get used to
this little thing um yeah the carrying
handle not the best solution but
i got used to it it's fine here on the
side also one pad
fell off when i fell this panel once
fell off but it could
click it back into place and probably
the biggest issue here is that on the
bottom
i already showed it in the review
earlier these
panels are just made of some very soft
metal
and they can bend so it could be nice if
there's some bumpers here
but yeah other than that it's been
performing pretty good not the most
robust shell but
still pretty good as a cruiser wheel as
a commuter wheel for shorter distances i
have been very very happy with it it's
very comfortable it's easy to go down
the curb
upper curb i've also been playing with
the suspension setup
on this wheel and you know with the
tweak of the rebalance this sort of
stuff
i'm mostly in the setting pretty close
to the most bouncy one because that's
the most comfortable however if i do
many jumps
then i tend to and have it a bit stiffer
and in this front i think king song is
also
leading the pack in terms of suspension
you sees because it's just so easy to
adjust it and definitely this is the
best
suspension implementation on the market
still
the v11 is for me just a bit too dull
and it has like this clonk
if you fall off when it fully extends
the piston
and the exn i mean the ex it's pretty
cool but it's definitely not as comfy
as the um s18
and the v11 but anyways for like smaller
maneuverability like here
going back and forth tricks it's pretty
awesome to do it on the s18 balance it's
amazing
however the performance it's been
lacking
and i you know this wheel was meant to
for jumps for stairs
but at this point here we have a set of
stairs
i'm just like another set of stairs and
i can
you know recite a small story for you
because the excitement is gone
the excitement is just gone because it's
very easy to do the stairs and how much
can you do stairs
[Music]
oh
[Music]
after a while just gets a bit dull
so my friend has been also using at the
s18
28 degree very similarly to me miyachu
and his as18 actually broke down
probably because of the amount of stairs
i would still use it for off-road and
all of the other stuff
if it just had a bit more performance
and
you know recently i bought the msb high
torque and
it basically answered all of my
performance needs
i never go faster than i know 45
kilometers an hour on the s18 and
in terms of hill climbing sometimes you
have even issues
like rapidly climbing onto a 30 degree
slope i hear the beeps like these
all the time
it's like you can't even accelerate like
you're used to
on other wheels it's still fun it's very
friendly can i jump this
maybe i can yeah nice
saw that was a three step
yeah cool but i just can't put power
pads onto it like
i know there's power pads available for
this wheel the question is though
do i want it because it overpowers so
easily
and when i overpowered it and it died
for me for a while
this was when i had power pads on
see it's just beeping all the time i
tried to do more crazy stuff but
it just won't
it just says i don't want to so mostly
when i'm riding in this wheel i'm riding
it either on like soft
off-road like slow off-road paths close
to the vistala
which you might see now in one of the
videos i'll link it
here here if you haven't seen it
or i just go on the sidewalk and going
also with kate on rides
she has just the tesla now sadly since
the sherman is broken
this is a pretty good companion wheel
like in terms of speed
and the overall maneuverability
and actually the s18 has also a
significantly better
battery life than the tesla so
it's just 100 watt hours but the
difference is pretty huge we have
i have more battery left than she has
and she's you know
a lot lighter than me after the same
distance and um yeah if you ride slowly
on this wheel you can definitely get it
over like
50 even 60 kilometers and this brings me
to
what am i going to do this with this
wheel
and the truth is i i just don't see so
much of a purpose above
of it anymore because i have the msp now
sorry about my jumping voice there and
the msp
is just so much fun i can do all the
climbs i can do so much fun stuff on it
which i can't do on the s18
and i feel like the s18 has
done its job i have tried many new cool
things on it and thanks to it
like jumps and steers 180s
and all the other tricks but now it's
just
yeah it just i don't feel that anymore
and i feel like if i would sell it then
i could get
a different wheel monster probe which i
could use
very thoroughly and do more uh
of a long distance test the long
distance test for you guys
because when i have the msp now and i
have the sherman or a monster pro
i don't really need a s18 that much like
it would be cool for like grocery runs
and
i know sunday rides because it's just so
you know smooth
and nice to ride but i'm riding 45 psi
on msp now and i'm fine too
so yeah that's the thing and if you want
to ask
which is more comfortable
let's the sap or the monster pro i can
hands down tell you that in every
day situations the monster pro is more
comfortable
even if you bounce somewhere up and down
it glides way nicer through
a street like this or
yeah just off roads the s18 is way
better away nimble and
all that but for commuting i still would
choose the monster pro because this is
awesome
but yeah it's not a video but the
monster pro it's a video about
the s18 so yeah the performance has been
really lacking for me
i i don't want to ride it that much
because i can't ride it that far
recently i'm just going everywhere like
40 50 kilometers
70 on the monster pro or even more like
up to 90 on
100 and one sitting and with this 18 i
can just go like 20 kilometers and then
i have to start worrying when i'm gonna
get home
so yeah uh soon it's gonna be up for
sale
uh i hope it finds a new happy owner and
we'll see with which wheel
we will we will replace it
probably with monster pro but anyways uh
if you're still here leave a like on the
video subscribe to see more content like
this
i'll see you in the next video see you
