arrive at the scattered Rendezvous

points and then jump to hyperspace to

several more coordinates to ensure that

they weren't followed or tracked then

they would all eventually meet up

together once again

for example one of these groups was

given the call sign fourth Division and

their initial Rendezvous point was

called Delta 3. the groups that the

rebels divided into were labeled the

first division all the way through to at

least the 11th division there may have

been more it didn't take long for the

Rebel Alliance to utilize this escape

plan because the Empire discovered the

rebel base on Hoth only a month after

its construction was finalized of course

we saw this Escape Plan take shape in

the movie Empire Strikes Back what we

didn't see was all of the scattered

Rebel groups meeting up at the

Rendezvous points instead you can read

about that in several Books and Comics

notably the Lost Stars book by Claudia

gray and in a few chapters of the from a

certain point of view Empire Strikes

Back book which is an anthology book

written from the perspective of several

different characters in the movie all

with different author others

Additionally the Star Wars 2020 comic

book run covers the reunification of the

scattered Rebel groups once the crew of

some interesting things to notice when

reading all of these are the locations

of mon mothma and wedge Antilles the

book Lost Stars places Mon mothma and

wedge Antilles on board the ship called

Liberty immediately following the

evacuation from Hoff this would mean

that Mon mothma and wedge Antilles were

in the same division when they evacuated

the planet

furthermore the book from a certain

point of view Empire Strikes Back places

wedge until he's on the ship home one

Admiral akbar's Command Ship also

shortly after the evacuation from Hoff

this would mean that for wedge to travel

between these two ships the liberty and

the home one they had to have been part

of the same division that escaped from

Hoff

so to summarize wedge Antilles Mon

mothma and Admiral Akbar were part of

the same division after they escaped the

reason that the rebels would be

restricted to their respective divisions

is because the Empire had hacked into

their Communications specifically the

Empire had discovered a way to intercept

Transmissions that the rebel divisions

sent to one another for example when the

fourth division attempted to contact the

eighth division after they'd each made

it to their respective Rendezvous points

the empire was able to pick up the

transmission and learn the location of

both divisions as a result the Empire

tracked and completely destroyed the

eighth division the rebels soon learned

about this and ceased contact with the

other Fleet divisions instead they

attempted to find each other in a

different way so as not to alert the

Empire this undertaking can be seen in

the Star Wars 2020 comic run

when Luke Skywalker and to the rest of

the Millennium Falcons crew reunited

with the fourth division they looked for

a way to find the other scattered Rebel

groups the first division that they

found after this was the seventh

division which was already under attack

from the Empire Luke and the rest of the

fourth division sprung into action to

save the seventh and when they did Luke

was reunited with wedge Antilles

together they LED red Squadron in

holding off the Empire so they could

escape this would seemingly answer the

question of which division wedge

Antilles monrothma and Admiral Akbar

were part of it would seem that they

were a part of the seventh division

however when the dust settled and the

fourth and seventh divisions flee to

safety it is revealed that Akbar and mon

mothma are not there and are actually

considered missing apparently mothma's

division has disappeared this is strange

because wedge was definitely on the same

ship as mon mothma during this

transitionary period for the rebel

alliance we find out later that Mon

mothma and Admiral Akbar are on board

the ship home one and were a part of the

11th Division and had been ambushed by

the Empire on the planet OB Dallas

Luke wedge and several other Pilots were

responsible for saving them and

reuniting them with the rest of the

Rebel Fleet

so why was wedge Antilles in the seventh

Division and not in the 11th division

with mon mothma when he was already seen

on the same ship as her in previous Star

Wars content

the boring answer to this question is

it's a continuity error but this channel

is in the business of headcanon and

continuity errors so that everything can

fit into a neat timeline a knot that

that's mandatory or anything I'd just

like to do that so let's head Canon an

explanation for how wedge Antilles got

separated from the 11th Division and

ended up in the seventh Division I think

a quick answer for this is he was given

an assignment to find other rebel Fleet

divisions the rebels in the 11th

division where wedge initially had been

and where Mon mothma and other members

of the Rebel High command had been as

well very likely discovered that the

Empire had found a way to trace their

Communications

having recently been promoted after Hoth

it wouldn't be surprising if they had

tasked wedge Antilles and the rest of

his recently reformed red Squadron to

find and contact other rebel divisions

the old-fashioned way by scouting for

them if this was the case wedge

eventually found the seventh division

but was unable to re-establish contact

between them and the 11th division

because they were then attacked by the

Empire this would explain why wedge was

not seen with the same Fleet in the

comics as he was in the books

basically because Mon mothma and the

other rebel leaders did not want to risk

opening Communications and revealing the

locations of them or anyone else they

sent wedge and red Squadron to fly

around in space and try to find the

other rebel divisions on their own

another possible answer to this

discrepancy is that Mal and mothma took

it upon herself to try to link up with

the other rebel divisions

she and Admiral Akbar left the seventh

division in the home one and tried to

find other rebel fleets at the

Rendezvous points themselves in this

case they found the 11th Division and

then were discovered by the Empire and

subsequently ambushed on the planet AB

Dallas this would also explain why wedge

Mon and Akbar were not in the same

division in the comic

those are my current head cannons for

this minor discrepancy the one that I

personally lean toward is wedge acting

as a scout to find other rebel divisions

because from what I feel is a

utilitarianist stance it makes more

sense to send starfighters to look for

other lost Rebel fleets rather than a

cruiser filled with Alliance High

command but that's how I'm headcanoning

I know it's not that big of an issue but

again as I've mentioned several times in

my other videos I enjoy fitting

everything into a neat timeline I like

it when the continuity lines up that

will do it for this video though
