Transcripts
hello students welcome back to our
Channel today we've got another exciting
topic to explore together we are going
to discuss about path fit one or the
physical activities towards health and
fitness movement enhancement so for our
first lesson we're going to talk about
physical education so grab your notebook
get comfortable and let's Dive Right
into today's lesson
[Music]
before anything else let us first
discuss the definition of physical
education according to this slide
physical education is to study practice
practice and appreciation of the Art and
Science of human movement so physical
education is a crucial part of Education
that focuses on the study and practice
of human movement it's not about
developing skills and Proficiency in
various physical activities but also
about improving overall health so
physical education plays a unique and
essential role in the schooling
process so walking lifting weights doing
chores it's all good regardless of what
you do regular exercise and physical
activities is a path to health and
well-being so exercise burns fat builds
muscle lower lowers cholesterol eases
Stress and Anxiety as well as uh lets us
sleep
restfully now let's dig in deeper and
talk about the basis or the legal basis
of physical education
so according to article one on the
international Charter of physical
education and sports UNESCO Paris 1978
and recommendation one interdisciplinary
regional meeting of experts on physical
education UNESCO Brisbane Australia 1982
states that the practice of physical
education and sports is a fundamental
right for all and this should not be
treated as different in principle from
the right to adequate food shelter and
Medical Care um in the Philippines we
have um the legal basis in the 1986
constitution of the Republic of the
Philippines it states that the state
shall promote physical education and
encourage Sports programs League
competitions and amateur sports
including uh training for international
competition to Foster self-discipline
teamwork and Excellence for the
development of healthy and alert
citizenry uh all educational
constitutions will undertake regular
sport activities throughout the country
and in coordination with Athletic Club
and other sectors so um this emphasizes
that the importance of a physical
education and sports so it it states
that the government is responsible for
promoting these activities as they are
crucial in fostering qualities like self
discipline teamwork and Excellence so
these qualities contribute to the
development of a healthy and alert
Society so it's not just about
encouraging these activities but um all
educational institutions are required to
regularly conduct sports activities so
they are also encouraged to uh
collaborate with athletic clubs and
other sectors to ensure a wide reach and
participation so this law essentially
highlights the role of the physical
activities in uh both personal and uh
suicidal uh
development all right now let's proceed
to health and fitness so let's
differentiate between fitness and health
so in here in this slide we have the
definition of Fitness it involves the
activity of um some sort that stimulates
various systems of the body and
maintains healthy condition within the
body uh while Health on the other hand
uh involves system every system of the
body and is only achiev through a
lifestyle that
supports health so uh Fitness is about
engaging in physical activities that
challenge our bodies and help us
maintain it so it it's it's an essential
part of overall health and well-being
well health is a a comprehensive state
that involves the whole body and
requires a lifestyle that actively
supports and promotes good health so
physical activity or exercise can
improve um your health and reduce the
risk of developing several diseases like
type 2 diabetes cancer and
cardiovascular disease so physical
activity and exercise can have immediate
and long-term health benefits so most
importantly a regular activity can
improve your quality of
life so most people uh believe being
healthy and being fit are one on the
same but in reality they can be separate
states of well-being or physical being
so you can be fit and not very healthy
and you can be very healthy and not very
fit so the best benefits are found with
with trying to get a balance of both
sides so this requires us to identify
the difference between fitness and
health so uh let's further differentiate
fitness and health
so Health according to um World Health
Organization it it has been defined by
them that health is a state of complete
physical mental and social well-being
and not merely the absence of disease or
infirmity it includes aging well
longivity quality of life Freedom From
Pain Etc so according to the World
Health
Organization um Health isn't uh just
about
not being sick or having a disease so
it's a much broader concept that
includes several aspects first it talks
about complete physical well-being so
this means that not just being free from
Illness but also having a body that is
well-nourished
strong and capable of Performing all
necessary functions effectively uh
secondly it mentions uh mental
well-being so this refers to a state
where a person is able to to think
clearly and make decisions handle stress
and maintain Health relation healthy
relationships so it's about having a
sound mind and and being a uh in a good
mental state and thirdly it includes
social wellbeing so this means having a
healthy relationships and interactions
with other other people being able to
contribute society and feeling a sense
of a belonging and acceptance in the
community so the world Health
organization's definition of health is a
holistic one that encompasses physical
mental and social aspects so it's about
living a life that is not just free from
disease but also rich in quality and
satisfaction so Fitness on the other
hand is defined as a set of attributes
that people have or achieved that
relates to the ability to perform
physical activity so a fitness in simple
terms is about your body's ability to
perform physical activities so it's not
just about being able to uh run fast or
lift heavy weights but it's a
combination of different attributes
um so when we say someone is fit it
means they have a well-rounded ability
in certain areas allowing them to engage
in various physical activities
effectively and efficiently so Fitness
is important because it helps us stay
healthy feel good about ourselves and
perform our daily task better now in in
terms of Fitness we have different
components of fitness so Fitness is made
up of many components and the following
factors need to be considered when
discussing Fitness levels so let's
discuss different um components of
physical fitness so we have um 10
components in here so let's first
discover uh the first and the second we
have have endurance or the
cardiovascular endurance and
cardiorespiratory endurance so this is
your body's ability to use and deliver
oxygen to your body so it's all about
the heart and lungs it's how well they
work together to get oxygen to your
muscles during prolonged physical
activity so think of it as like a
delivery truck carrying oxygen to your
muscles so the better your endurance the
more efficient the truck is second we
have stamina or most popularly known as
muscular endurance so muscular endurance
this is your body's ability to
store process and use energy so it's
about how your muscles use the energy
they receive so it's it's their ability
to perform over a sustained period of
time without getting tired so imagine it
as a um muscle ability to keep using the
oxygen that the delivery truck brings
without running or uh running our um
running out of uh
energy third we have strength so this is
the ability of your muscles or a
muscular unit to apply Force so it is
all about how much force your muscles
can exert and think of it as like
lifting a heavy box so the the stronger
you are the heavier the box you can lift
in flexibility is the ability to
maximize the range of motion of a joint
so it's all about um it's about how much
your joints can move it's like bending
over to touch your toes so the more
flexible you are the easier is it is to
reach your toes without straining fifth
we have power so it is the ability of
the muscles to maximize their force in a
minimum amount of time so it combines
strength and speed so it's about how you
quick how quickly your muscle can use
their strength so imagine throwing a
punch and then power is what allows you
to throw a strong punch quickly fourth
we have
speed so speed in here it defines the
ability to minimize the amount of time
it takes uh you to accomplish task or a
movement so speed is all about how
quickly you can complete a task or or a
movement so it's like running a race so
that the faster you can run the quicker
you can reach the Finish Line uh seventh
we have coordination coordination is the
ability to combine several movement
patterns in a single distinct movement
so it's all about combining different
movements smoothly and efficiently it's
like dancing or playing musical
instrument so the better you coordinate
the better your coordination the more
fluidly you can perform complex movement
accuracy accuracy is the ability to
control a movement in a given direction
or
intensity so accuracy is all about
precision and control so the more
accurate you are the better control your
movement um to hit or or the better you
control your movement to hits the Hits
the Target exactly where you
want ninth we have a agility agility is
the ability to minimize the time going
from one movement to another so agility
is all about being able to control your
movements in a specific direction or
intensity so it's like quickly changing
direction while running or touching
obstacles so the more agile you are the
better you can maneuver your body with
Precision balance the last one we have
is balance so balance is the ability to
control control the center of gravity of
your body in relation to your support
base so balance is about maintaining
control of your body's center of gravity
in relation to your support base so it's
like standing one on one leg without
wobbling or falling over so good balance
allows you to stay uh stable and steady
during various movements and
activities so Fitness involves activity
of some sort that stimulates various
systems of the body and maintains a
certain condition within the body Health
on the other hand involves every system
of the body and is only achieved through
a LIF cell that supports health so for
instance if a person tells uh you that
they have neglected to eat properly they
ignore the fat content and ate mostly
processed foods and all the exercise in
the world couldn't possibly correct the
Damage Done from such a lifestyle so
exercise won't remove the damage from
chemicals or improve immune system
damage or weakness from the depleted
Foods so only a sound
nutrition uh can support good health of
course uh can um also support health and
will improve health if if it is part of
a way of life so our health is mainly
the result of thousands of daily
nutritional decisions so as you as you
continue your personal health Journey or
if you are just getting back on track
ask yourself this simple questions am I
on the road to becoming fit and healthy
or just fit if you answer is just fit
try incorporating other aspects of
Wellness into a more comprehensive plan
that revolves around the combination of
physical mental emotional and spiritual
health and that ends the first part of
this lesson so watch out for part two to
continue thank you so much for watching
and I hope you learn
