Transcripts
Hey I'm Zax and here's a little preview of every boss in Nerub-ar Palace,
brought to you by Wowhead, the best place to find all the info you need to be ready for the
raid. Quick announcement before I get into it: This tier, we’re putting a ton of effort into
Patreon to bring you a bunch of exclusive content like extended heroic deep dives and mythic raid
guides which have been requested a lot. So check out patreon.com/readycheckpull for more info.
Alright, the first boss of the raid is Ulgrax, and he has two alternating phases.
Phase one has these webs he puts on the ground everywhere. All they really do is
root you if you touch them, not a huge deal, and you can clear out a bunch of them with
these green circles that go on random players. The raid has to help soak this big swirly circle
on a random player, because it does split damage, but more importantly, more people soaking it slows
down the big pull the boss does afterwards. And if you get pulled too close to him, you’re dead.
There’s also a frontal on the tank, so they have to keep the boss faced away from the raid.
Eventually the boss runs out of energy and starts phase two, where he disappears,
and you have to dodge him charging across the room a few times, while killing a bunch of
little adds that keep spawning. The adds drop food on the ground when they die,
which you want everyone to pick up and feed to the boss once he comes back,
to get his energy back to full and go back to phase one, because he’s immune and does more
and more raid-wide damage the longer he’s in phase two. Then it’s rinse and repeat.
And that’s pretty much it!
On to the second boss, The Bloodbound Horror.
There’s a little bit of setup you have to do before this boss, because during the fight,
he spawns adds in a different realm every once in a while that do real bad stuff if you don’t
go deal with them. And the only way to do that is with the frontal on the tank that sends anyone it
hits to that other realm for a little bit. So you actually have to split your raid in half,
and have half of the raid get hit by the frontal every time it happens, alternating
between each half on heroic. The people that get sent down go interrupt and kill the adds,
and then automatically get sent back to the normal realm after a little bit.
Other than that main mechanic, there’s also some swirlies to dodge that follow
random people for a few seconds. At full energy, there’s a huge
circle around the boss to run out of. And on heroic, there are these beams
that come out of the sides of the boss and rotate around the room, one-shotting anyone they touch.
They can kinda complicate the whole add-killing thing in the other realm, because they can force
you away from the adds you’re trying to kill, but the tank can actually face the
boss a certain way to get the beams to spawn in a good spot, which we’ll detail more in our guide.
And that’s pretty much it!
On to the third boss, Sikran
This is a super simple boss, because there’s really only two mechanics to worry about.
The first one is a charge the boss does at marked players,
which creates these shadow images of anyone he hits.
And the second mechanic is beams the boss shoots at marked players, which should be
aimed at the shadow images to destroy them. You want the charge to create as few images
as possible, because they pulse raid damage and explode on the raid when they’re destroyed. And
you want to destroy them as you go, because otherwise the boss destroys them all at the
same time when he gets to full energy and that does way too much damage.
The images also leave a big pool on the ground when they’re destroyed, so you’ll want to spawn
them kinda close together at the edge of the room and rotate around every time the pools spawn.
And that’s pretty much it!
On to the fourth boss, Rasha’nan
This boss starts at 60% health because of some rp in a dungeon, and it has a bunch
of pretty simple mechanics, but they all tend to happen really quickly one after another.
First off, there’s these gray circles that get put on random players. They have to get away
from the raid before they explode and drop webs on the ground, and then they have to move out of
their web to remove the dot it puts on them. There’s these green lines that get put on a
couple players, which spawn waves that sweep across the platform. The lines on the players
kinda show you which direction the wave is gonna go, so they have to move out of the
raid in the opposite direction of their line to get the waves to not go through the raid,
although it’s really not that bad if they do. And there’s these little green circles that get
put on random players. They gotta group together a little bit without stacking,
because they do a small explosion and spawn a bunch of little adds for everyone to aoe pad on.
When the boss gets to full energy, she flies to random spots in the room and
everyone has to follow her while dodging some swirlies on the ground, and then interrupt her
cast a couple times to get her to fight again. And on heroic, there’s this big swirly that
everyone needs to help soak to split the damage and reduce the pull toward the boss
that happens right afterwards, because if you get pulled off, you’re dead.
And that’s pretty much it!
On to the fifth boss, Broodtwister Ovi’nax.
The first thing to notice here is there’s a whole bunch of these eggs around her room, and
there’s three of these big containers around too. When the boss gets to full energy, she opens the
closest container to her, which slowly spreads a big pool on the ground. And the goal of the
fight is to break the eggs around each container before the pool reaches them
and explodes them for crazy raid damage. The only way to do that is with these
purple circles that go on random players, which break any eggs in the circles when they expire.
Breaking an egg also spawns one of three adds, based on what the egg looks like:
The big round eggs spawn a spider that has to be tanked
The skinnier eggs spawn a caster worm that has to be kicked every once in a while
And the little egg clusters spawn a bunch of parasites that have to be
cc’ed and killed from range before they reach their fixate target and duplicate themselves
We’ll have a proper egg breaking route in our guide, but the general idea is
to break the eggs closest to the container first, before the pool can grow into them.
And finally, on heroic, some gray circles get put on random players, who need to get dispelled once
everyone else is out of their circle because it does a little explosion around them.
And that’s pretty much it!
On to the sixth boss, Nexus-Princess Ky’veza.
This boss has two alternating phases. Phase one is all about these portal things
that spawn and try to suck everybody in at the same time, and you have to control where they
spawn to have them suck in opposite directions and kinda cancel each other out, or else the
suck will be too strong and…you’re dead. One portal always spawns on the boss,
who you can move around, and the others spawn on these shadow images.
The images spawn from these circles that go on random players, so you have them spread
out around the outside of the room, and then you move the boss to a good spot on the opposite side
of the room from those images, and you’re good to go for the first set of portals.
But then the images reposition by casting a charge through random players, so you need
the marked players to spread out around the outside of the room and then move the boss
again to a good spot opposite of the images, and you’re good to go for the last set of portals.
As long as you can make that happen, everything else in phase one is super simple.
There’s a dot on people that does a little 2-yard explosion at the end of it,
which they should spread out for, and on heroic, that explosion also sends out
little projectiles for everyone to dodge. And actually something pretty unique,
the boss tries to execute anyone that drops below 10% health, so healers will have to
stay on their toes even more than usual. At full energy, the boss goes to the middle
of the room and starts phase two, where she just channels for a while and spawns lines on random
players to dodge. And on heroic,
she also spawns big cones on the ground to dodge. And then it’s back to phase one, rinse and repeat!
And that’s pretty much it!
On to the seventh boss, The Silken Court
This is a council style fight where you fight two bosses at the same time and there are three
different phases with intermissions between them. There’s a crazy number of mechanics in this fight,
but you really only need to know about one or two big ones in each phase to get going.
In phase one, you have to use these webs on the ground to get tethers between players and
then use those tethers to stop a big charge the melee boss does through the middle of the room,
because if the charge goes all the way through, it does crazy raid damage.
Everything else in the phase is way simpler: dodging some cones, and killing some adds.
After a while the first intermission starts, where the melee boss hides and the caster boss
goes to the middle of the room, gets a huge shield, and starts channeling. And a bunch of
cones spawn on the ground and everyone has to avoid being in them when they blow up.
Once the shield is broken, the melee boss comes back and phase two starts.
There’s no more charge in this phase, but instead three people will get a permanent dot debuff, and
you have to dispel them in a very particular way, which we’ll detail more in our guide, in order to
transfer all three debuffs to the caster boss at a certain time to stop his raid-wiping cast.
The simpler mechanics are the same in this phase, except now the caster boss sometimes
pulls everyone to him and you have to run out of a circle he puts around himself. Everyone
gets a tether between them when this happens, but you don’t actually need them in this phase.
After a while the second intermission starts, where the caster boss hides and
the melee boss goes to the middle and gets a huge shield and starts channeling. A bunch of
rings spawn around the room that everyone has to avoid, until the shield is broken, and then the
caster boss comes back and phase three starts. This phase is basically phase 1 and 2 combined,
so you have to deal with the dispel mechanic and the charge mechanic,
but now you have to use the tethers from the big pull-in for the charge instead.
And that’s pretty much it!
As for the last boss, Queen Ansurek, Blizzard didn’t do any testing of her on beta,
which means we can’t really do a preview for her. However,
we’re making a super detailed prediction video for the fight based on the journal,
like we do for the last boss of every tier, so keep an eye out for that!
This video was brought to you by Wowhead and their raid overview page,
which tells you everything you need to know about the raid. It has the full dungeon journal,
all the loot from the bosses, links to all the upcoming boss guides, and much more! So
check out the Wowhead link in the description. And thank you to our supporters on Patreon for
