Highlights
The presenter is in a Tesla car, discussing the HVAC system and its operation.
The Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Roadster, and Cybertruck all share a similar HVAC system.
The HVAC system in Tesla vehicles is controlled through a touchscreen interface, without traditional knobs.
The fan speed can be adjusted from 1 to 10, with 10 being very loud like a jet.
The AC can be turned on and off, and the temperature can be set on auto mode or manually.
Ventilation can be split between the driver and passenger areas for individual comfort.
The system automatically recognizes and adjusts for rear passengers when present.
Defrosting for the windshield, mirrors, and back window is controlled through the touchscreen.
The presenter demonstrates how to adjust the HVAC settings for optimal comfort while driving.
In winter, circulating the air is not recommended as it can frost up the windows.
During summer, circulating the air inside the car can help keep the cabin cool without letting in outside pollutants.
The HVAC system can stay on after the car is left unattended until the battery reaches 20 percent.
Dog mode sets the car to auto and maintains a comfortable temperature for pets left inside.
The HVAC system has a sync feature allowing for dual climate control for driver and passenger.
The seat heaters can be controlled individually for each seat in the car.
There's a quick way to turn off the AC by pressing and holding the fan icon on the touchscreen.
Voice control can also be used to operate the HVAC system.
The presenter discusses the efficiency of the HVAC system, noting only a 4 km/h drop in charging speed with the AC on.
The fan speed has a more significant impact on charging efficiency than the temperature setting.
The presenter concludes by encouraging viewers to enjoy the weather and take their cars out for a drive.
Transcripts
hey welcome back to another video I am
glad to be here in my car again
charging at my usual place so I just
went for a walk around this huge
building came inside and realized I'm
super hot and what do you do well you
got turn on your AC then I realized well
not a lot of people like people who
don't own a Tesla don't really know
about the HVAC system in a Tesla
especially the model 3 model why
roadster and the cyber truck they all
have similar system why did I not
include the s and X let me tell you why
it's this little slot right here in the
front that goes like end to end to your
dash
that's your main air vent and of course
you have your bottom event I don't know
if you can see that it's like all the
way at the bottom
yep there we go see that that vent right
there and of course there's mint in the
front area for to defrost your
windshield and obviously there's one in
the back and of course there's also vent
in here right underneath the passenger
rear passenger for rear passengers under
the passenger in the driver's seat now
how do you operate them well it's really
simple but most people don't know for
all of you who are waiting for the cyber
truck this is one that you really need
to know because that's gonna be this is
basically gonna be how you're gonna
control your HVAC from now on I mean all
manufacturers are all the car
manufacturers for example Porsche
they're going the same direction but
there is
really really complicated but this is so
easy so all you got to do is press this
fan I can't write and the AC turns on
and you have your fan speed right here
you can increase the somatic fan speed
all the way up to 10 and it's 30 last
right it's really really loud it's like
a jet and you can also reduce it so I
like to leave it at 2 AC on windows up
during summertime outside temperature is
28 degrees Celsius it's pretty hot it
was actually 32 or something outside and
then just dropped but anyways and again
it will go down by itself if you're not
interacting with it for a while so this
is your AC and how you control them
because there's no knobs to control it
well all you got to do is just put your
finger here we put up down side to side
so this I actually separate them into
two which I like to be because when I'm
driving I like it to you know cool my
hands because I'm holding the steering a
little right so it's the AC will come
through the steering wheel and cool my
hand also cool my body a little bit you
know it's just perfect I like it because
when I'm driving my hands are right here
and it's Sun is baking my hand and it
it's getting hot right so it's really
nice to you know split them and stuff
but if you don't want to split them
simply just do this and now it's all one
if you want to split them into two you
just need to separate them it's
basically if you very used to an iPhone
multi-touch same thing but yeah I like
to leave it like this and you can of
course control it same goes for the
passenger you can also split and all the
stuff but again there's no passenger so
I like to leave it to my area so it will
also come to me and when there is the
past
when there's passengers at the back
automatically recognizes and turned back
passengers but for some reason you want
it turned on and off there it is that's
your button it's in the corner you might
not realize it but it's in the corner
and defrosting well you already have
defrosting and all that over here this
is for the windshield and this for
mirrors and back window I mean back area
back mirror defrosting which I'm I don't
really need because it's summer right
now and this is for the foot this is for
the top and again because the fan speed
is in - it's actually splitting all that
so when you when you're like putting
only one vent on fan speed - is good
enough but when you're putting all these
vents on number four would be a good
option and of course it gets a little
louder when you do and when you turn all
these off everything just comes to you
and that's that and you can also leave
it on auto so it depends on the
temperature so affect press Auto right
now and it tried to cool down to low if
I leave it at temperature let's say 20
for the air goes down the fan speed goes
down and it just you know but if I leave
it up to like 27 degree Celsius outside
is 28 by the way so I'm trying to sync
it with outside air so 27.5 and the fan
speed is slow it's just quiet but when I
go low
it's trying to you know cool down the
cabin as fast as possible as much as
possible like a freaking jet so you can
again turn off auto just I don't really
like auto or the fan speed - - I like
this like that and one more thing in the
winter time circulating is not a good
idea because it will obviously defrost
the windows I mean it will actually
frost up the windows and it's just not
good but in the summertime you can
actually circulate the air inside
because you want to keep the cabin cool
instead of getting outside air
especially when you're driving in on a
highway there's a lot of cars with a lot
of bad bad smokes which you don't want
to get in even though it has a pretty
good air filtration system you just
don't want that to happen and of course
it has always on so it's saying that
climate will stay on after you leave the
car
so it automatically goes into auto mode
so let me turn that off so saying that
climate will stay on after you leave the
car will turn off when the battery
reaches 20 percent that's a really good
idea same goes for dog mode but dog
motor doesn't say when you put our dog
mode automatically sets to auto and the
temperature you can obviously change but
when you do exit the car it turns into
the whole spring turns into like I'll
show you so I open the door right and
for this purpose I'm just gonna leave
the window down so you guys can see and
the screen is like that I'm gonna close
the doors that's what you see
since my owner will be back blah blah
blah don't worry B AC is on and it's
degree Celsius inside and has a dog
picture it's really nice and pretty cute
and then the other thing of course cap I
can't show you this right now because
I'm gonna actually have to like stay
inside the car for a good half an hour
or 15 minutes I'm not sure how long in
order for that to work so let me turn
that off and it's getting cold it gets
pretty cold guys really quick in the
monthly the the the HVAC system is
really good and if you want heat in your
car again turn off AC and just simply
increase the you know temperature below
there is a sync button what is that well
let's just try it out and I'll show you
what's the sync button when you sync it
on sync it basically you get two
different climate controls so you
actually get dual climate control so you
you can get your own cold air and your
passenger is too cold she or he can get
a little bit warmer air that's a really
really good I don't know why you want
that for me it's actually useful because
my friends don't like it to be really
cold and I like it to be cold so I
usually turn on the AC or I usually you
know turn on like open up the window and
drive in the wintertime and I can set my
temperature to low and she or he can set
the temperature to high and keep warm
inside so that's a really cool feature
I usually just sync it right it goes
back to this normal and you have your
seat controls you have your all seats
seat heaters so you can turn all off
just by pressing this you can turn
everything I mean one by one obviously
on on full-blast so I'm gonna turn on
other seats except mine because I'm
sitting on it so it's on high I press
one it will go down
just like so and if you want if I want
to turn everything off at once you just
press all off simple really really
stupid simple and another thing if you
want to turn it off turn off the whole
airflow in air conditioning system
there's a couple of ways to do it well
you can simply press the bar up button
on top so when you're driving and you're
a AC is on right you're driving and you
want to turn it off you got to go here
and press this
that's definitely distracting the
simplest hack what's not really hack
it's actually integrated into the system
all you got to do is simply just press
and hold this fan icon so as you can see
it's really white and when I press and
hold did you hear that soft and it turns
into grey so if I want to turn it on now
you can just press it and it will turn
on or press and hold to turn on either
way works so as you can see and a
present hold and it's off if I want to
turn it on without touching the screen
it's even simpler so all I have to do is
press the right button a square wheel so
it's actually clicks in right left and
scroll up and down so I just press turn
on the AC
and just like that the AC is on and it
automatically again goes into auto mode
because you'll be driving you're a
really sweaty hot and you want to turn
on the AC and cool down really quick
that's a great option you can't do the
same thing with C heaters so I'm simply
gonna go to the seat heater and what
should do it magic maybe you will just
turn out we'll see turn on the
passenger's seat heat to three Bacon's
just like that the passenger seat heater
is on let me do that again
turn on the fasten your seat heater to
to bacon that's just funny how let me
just turn that off that's just funny how
Tesla is able to do well it's um
pressure is some Ilan's idea three bacon
to begins as obviously looks like a
bacon strip some bacon strips so it's
just funny you can control HVAC
completely out of voice control so
that's basically it for the HVAC
controls that's how you control your
HVAC in your model three model why the
Roadster if you're getting in and also
the cyber truck that's coming out most
people don't realize that the cyber
truck also don't have a traditional
event in the front I actually have this
type of slot in the front which is
actually a great idea so how it controls
up and down well there are more videos
that's explaining how it's however
actually works but some for some people
it's kind of puzzling even for me when I
first saw that vent design it's kind of
puzzling how it works basically there's
one vent right below it that as you
actually press the stock by newest one
vent right below it that push pushes air
up and then the other main vent which is
right here which blows the air this way
so to control it when you're moving your
vent up and down all its seeing when
you're moving the vent up all it's doing
is blowing a little bit more air from
the bottom vent which pushes the air
that's coming this way I'll let a bit up
so it's really good it's basically fluid
dynamics if you if you're if you if
you're in high school or college you
know what that is it's basically how air
moves when you react when another when
molecules of air reacts with each other
it's really hard to explain but science
so take that what it works for well but
anyways so that's basically how you
control the vent and how it works
basically and another thing that I want
to show you is how much battery actually
takes so it's a simple way to check so
I'm gonna turn the vent off and
currently I'm charging and this charger
can go up to 42 kilometers an hour so as
you can see it's 42 kilometers an hour
charging speed right when I turn it on
it goes down to 38 kilometers an hour so
we are losing 4 kilometers and ours well
the AC is on which is not bad at all 4
kilometer an hour it's really really
good
efficiency as you can see the AC is on
the fan is on - it doesn't really matter
how cold it is let me actually try so
let's leave it at 18 degrees and see if
it changes I don't see any changes at
all so temperature I don't think it
really matters because once the
compressor turns on it takes all the
power so it really doesn't matter how
much changed the temperature so the rate
is not changing but let's change the fan
speed let's change it to four for
example and the fan speed does it so I
went down by a kilometer by going up by
one fan speed let's go another I went to
spin speed actually so three fan speed
when I went down to 33 so the fan speed
is the factor so if I go down to one fan
speed with low AC and obviously it's not
easy I'm at 38 so my sweet spot as to
fan speed what really low well AC on
with low so that's my go-to and it works
beautifully I love love the HVAC system
on a Model 3 how a Tesla did it it's
just fantastic and obviously saves costs
for them they don't need to make
separate little vents for each and every
hole and makes the - cluttered and it's
just complicated this is simple and
cheap for them and it looks really fancy
people who don't know Tesla they just
hop in the car and they turn on the fan
they don't really realize it until you
point it out or until they goes to you
know change the wind direction they're
like how am I gonna change it and you
show them they just freak out but yeah
that's it
I just want to show you all this I
actually did something really good in my
opinion I did a good job but I don't
know how it is it's just by anyways
there's a secret secret thing that I've
been doing and I want to make a video
but I'm really looking for a good spot
and good weather and I just want
everything to my you know come together
really nicely so I can do that video
it's gonna be a long video it's probably
going to be like upwards of twenty two
to twenty to twenty five
minute video it's not a driving video
it's not gonna be me driving around it's
gonna be completely different
well not really completely different all
I can say is that it's a show-and-tell
so that's it for today's video hope
y'all enjoyed hope you like my
explanation of how the area a C or the
HVAC work works enter Tesla hope you
enjoyed this video be sure to thumbs up
this video subscribe and use my revoke
code that I leave down below I would
love to get get my ever phone up to 5
I'm currently on two referrals my one of
my other buddy will be ordering a model

finally configuring some other stuff but
so I will be getting 3 referrals
altogether I will love to get 5 in total
I will love you guys to make that happen
and yeah stay safe enjoy the weather go
outside in your car if you have an a TV
that's even better it doesn't have to be
a Tesla so that's just an Eevee or even
a hybrid take it outside or even a gas
car just the weather is really good take
it outside
if it's an Eevee just even better you
will just feel fantastic trust me
take it outside go for a long drive plug
your car in go for a walk around the
neighborhood and yeah enjoy the life
don't just cooped up you get you know
stay in your house cooped up there
on going around in the world yeah it's
really tough outside but keep a positive
mindset and stay safe this is me with
