to be doing an iPhone 15 Pro Max
charging speed test comparing all the
official Apple iPhone power adapters so
this is going to include the 5 wat 12
watt 20 wat 30 WT and 35 watt power
adapters and we're going to be using the
very same iPhone 15 Pro Max for all five
of these tests and of course to keep
things fair just for this video
optimized battery charging and clean
energy charging are both disabled so the
phone charges straight up to 100% for
all these tests now I highly recommend
that everybody keep optimized battery
charging enabled to help preserve your
iPhone's battery health over time but to
keep things fair for the video I have it
disabled right now but all right we're
going to go ahead and kick off the test
here starting with the 15 Pro Max
completely dead for all tests and we're
going to be checking in at 10 minute
increments and guys it's very important
to note that the iPhone 15 Pro Max's
maximum charging speed caps out around
25 WS so any any charging adapter above
25 WS is going to charge this phone at
the fastest speed possible so in the
context of the Chargers that we're
testing out right now you don't need to
get a charger any higher than the 30 W
charging brick for the reason of
charging speed because the 30 W charging
brick will charge your device at the
fastest speed possible I am including
the 35 W charger in this video as I
decided to include every iPhone charger
that Apple sells but again it's not
going to charge the iPhone 15 Pro Max
any faster than the 30 wat charger now
you can see in this specific test the 35
W charger happens to be a few percentage
points ahead of the 30 W charger but you
should shock that up to random minor
variations that are always going to
occur in tests like this as again the
iPhone 15 Pro Max's maximum charging
speed is 25 watts so if you already own
a 30 W charger there's no need to go out
and buy a higher wattage charger than
that for the reason of charging speed
you can see we have pretty similar
results for everything at 20 watts and
above at this point in the test honestly
my advice is if you already have a 20 W
charger for your iPhone 15 Pro Max I
wouldn't recommend upgrading to a 30 W
charger just for the reason of charging
speed again the 30 W charger is
technically able to charge it a little
bit faster but as you can see here the
charging speed advantage of upgrading
from a 20 wat charger to a 30 W charger
is pretty negligible in the grand scheme
of things so really anything at 20 WS or
above is going to be just fine for the
average person now if you're still using
a 5w or 12 w charger that's a different
story as there's a considerable speed

my day-to-day life it's still the 5w
charger even for people who have the
newer iPhone 12 13 and 14 models that
are capable of much higher wattage
charging and it makes sense as the 5w
charger used to come in the box with
every iPhone up to the iPhone 11 so a
lot of people still have those Chargers
and have been using them since for years
and might not even be aware of how much
faster a 20 W charger can charge their
device but I'm curious to hear what
iPhone charger you guys use so let me

W and 30 W Chargers charged the 15 Pro
Max to 100% And at the next check-in 10
minutes later the 30 W charger also
charged the 15 Pro Ma Max to 100% so as
you've seen throughout this test pretty
much a negligible difference between all
the power adapters 20 ws and above for
the 15 Pro Max meanwhile the 5w and 12 w
Chargers still have quite a waste to go
both still under the 80% mark it goes
without saying that if you care about
charging your 15 Pro Max quickly the 5w
and 12 w Chargers are not going to come
close to doing that as iPhone batteries
continue to get larger these smaller
power adapters are going to get more and
more obsolete with time but anyway
anyways skipping ahead quite a bit here
at 3 hours and 10 minutes into the test
the 12 w charger finally charges the 15
Pro Max all the way up to 100% meanwhile
the 5w charger still has quite a ways to
go so we're going to skip ahead quite a
lot more all the way to 4 hours and 30
minutes into the test when the 5w
charger finally charges the 15 Pro Max
to 100% as well so here are the final
results in conclusion any 20 W or above
charger is going to be just fine for the
iPhone 15 Pro Max and to charge your
device at close to the fastest rate
possible once again the maximum charging
speed on the 15 Pro Max caps out around
25 watts so if you want to ensure your
phone is charging at the absolute
fastest speed possible the 30 W charger
will do that so there's no need to get a
charger anything higher than 30 Watts
you don't need the 35 watt again
anything 30 WTS or above will charge
your device at the fastest speed
possible which is again going to be
around 25 watts and also since we're
checking in at 10-minute increments
these final times here aren't exact
that's the reason we see 1 hour and 50
minutes for the 20 watt and 35 W
Chargers and 2 hours for the 30 W
charger I'm sure the 30 W charger
probably charged the 15 Pro Max to 100%
probably around you know 1 hour and 51
minutes into the test but again since
the check-ins are only every 10 minutes
it was technically done at the 2 hours
Mark and taking into consideration what
I mentioned earlier about how there's
always going to be some random Vari in
tests like this in combination with the
check-ins being at 10 minutes apart all
the Chargers 20 wats and above performed
very similar in this test and guys that
