hi guys welcome back to my YouTube
channel if you're new here hello my name
is Kissa and in today's video I'm going
to be answering one of the frequently
asked questions about the university
okay so you're probably watching this
video because maybe you've gained
admission to one of the universities in
Ghana maybe you want to come to one of
the universities in Ghana be it's K us
um
legon UCC upsa and the rest okay and
you're wondering what should I bring is
this acceptable am I supposed to take
this are we going to be giving any
perspectives or something relax okay I'm
here to help you with that so at the end
of this video you you're going to find
out some things you need to bring to
invest in so without wasting much time
let's get right into the video so I've
categorized the things into like four
parts okay and since I'm a k University
student most of what I'll be saying will
be based on what I know from for K so
let's begin with the bden and then the
room aspect so when you coming as a
fresher you don't have to bring a
mattress okay the university provides
mattresses like in their halls and hosts
so you don't have to bring a mattress or
a bed all you have to bring is um a
blanket a bed sheet a pillow a pillow
case a mattress cover yeah those are the
basic things you need um for your
bedden yeah and in respect to the room
the rooms have some kind of like I'm
talking about K in the Halls they are
kind of like cardboards in the rooms so
this cardboards are going to be shared
amongst your roommates you're going to
have like four roommates three roommates
including yourself so four people in the
room and so we are going to arrange your
stuff in these um cupboards so you need
something like a hanger to hang your
clothes and the cupboards and all of
that yeah so that's for the beding and
then the um let's get to the next part
which is um the kitchen SL electrical
appliances so I wouldn't say there's a a
kitchen designed in the halls I don't
know if you are going to be in a hall um
a hostel or something but then in the
halls there are like balconies you be
cooking and in the balconies you don't
use gas um gas cylinders you need an
electric stove
yes in place of the gas cylinders cuz
the gas cylinders are not allowed and
before that you first of all need
utensils because you definitely be
cooking I don't think you be buying food
throughout your stay yeah so something
small like SAU span frying pan colander
I'll be leaving pictures up here for you
to get a fair idea ladel um spatula you
know them yeah something very small and
then we go to
a blender you need a blender you need a
rice cooker you need um a fridge I
wouldn't say a fridge is very very
important well it is though but not
everyone can afford getting a fridge at
the start of the University probably as
time goes on you get you can get one but
then it's it's really important to get a
I'm not saying a very big fridge like um
those small ones or yeah and then you
need a
microwave a microwave because you see
sometimes you cook and you be storing
some of the food in the fridge you come
back from leur you're tired you need to
just heat a food up like real quick and
then
eat that's when the microwave will be
important but then personally I don't
have a microwave but I'm living so it's
your own choice it's not like compulsory
to get a microwave
yeah but if you can why not you also
need a
kettle a kettle and you also need an ion
an electric ion for ioning and remember
to also bring an extension board yeah
because like the sockets are few and I
don't think um two sockets will be
enough for about four people two people
or three people sharing the room right
so you need an extension board to make
things easier and simpler yeah so I
think I'm done for the electrical
appliances and the kitchen aspect I
might probably forget some of them but
guys if you remember some you can um put
them down in the comment section if you
have any questions so you can put them
down in the comment section so now let's
move to the next aspect which is the
personal items for the personal items I
wouldn't really be specific cuz they are
your personal stuff so um toiletries
um
buets bathroom
slippers and remember a first aid kits
you know anything can happen so
something small in case of any
emergencies remember to bring clothes
enough clothes and bags not so many bags
for the guys I know they will just need
something small like a a small bagpack
or yeah and they are good to go but for
the ladies we are always holding
different different different handbag so
you might want to bring any kind of bag
of your choice I didn't say this earlier
but remember to bring a suitcase along
cuz that's where we packing all your
stuff into yeah so that's it for the
personal items and any other thing you
want to bring but then keep in mind that
um I'm being specific with K us because
I know much about it as I said earlier
so in the halls there the rooms are
really small I'm not going to lie they
really small so you have to be
considerate about and the things you
bring so that you don't like fill the
room with your your whole your whole
house you don't bring your whole house
into the room yeah that's it for the
personal items now the last part which
is the um studies for your studies you
definitely need books you need um
stationary you need a laptop it's very
important but if you cannot afford a
laptop at the beginning it's fine I time
goes on you can get it but then it's
really important to get one to make
studies easier and you need a like a
laptop a laptop bag to keep your laptop
in it I'm sure you know that and a
smartphone too for studies cuz usually
your course um reps and your lectures
will communicate through your WhatsApp
groups and stuff on your smartphone so
you need a smartphone yeah you also need
a flashlight I think is is very
important because since you be sharing a
room with others I don't think you can
always be doing things or getting things
done your way you might probably want to
wake up in the morning or at dawn to
stud but you can't turn the light on
because others are asleep so you need a
a flashlight a touch light to steady so
keep that in mind so you don't disturb
your roommates yeah I think these are
basically the things you be needing for
for the
University yeah in respect to the Bing
aspect electrical appliances SL kitchen
um your studies and also your personal
items in my next videos to come I will
talk about the things you do not need to
bring to the university so guys if you
have any questions or any suggestions
you want to put to me you can kindly put
them in the comment section and I'll be
willing to answer them and you can also
send me a message on Instagram or
SnapChat or something if you want ask
anything so thank you so much for
watching this video kindly do well to
like comment and subscribe and also
share to your family and friends who be
coming to the university so see you in
my next video
bye
