Transcripts
I'm the son of Balon the brave well well
well now that the third episode of Hot D
season 2 has finally dropped it seems
like the dance of the Dragons is slowly
expanding itself beyond the confines of
the red keep and dragon stone with
tensions aggressively Rising between the
green and black factions both crews are
desperately looking to recruit more
allies before they meet their enemy on
the battlefield this week we saw several
new characters leave a lasting impact
even if their Cameo was brief in the
Riverland after Damon Targaryen seized
the decaying castle of heren Hall he met
a mysterious wet nurse named Alice
Rivers who is apparently a witch
meanwhile in King's Landing King Aon
Targaryen II spent a wild night in the
city's shadier areas and almost crossed
paths with a long lost relative he
doesn't even know exists yep we are
indeed talking about UL the white I
don't know if you noticed in the
previous episode but UL is the same
crazy looking dude who was staring up at
all the hanged rat catchers in the
previous episode of the prequel well it
didn't seem like he was any anything
more than a side piece UL is about to
become one of the most important
characters who's going to have a major
influence on the upcoming Targaryen
Civil War so without wasting another
moment let's find out who UL the white
really is before we get into this
explanation however we have a very small
request if you like our content please
support us by subscribing to our Channel
this is a small click for you but for us
it means a lot thank you let's begin
Uncle to the one true Queen Renea
targaryan Wolf's bold Revel in House of
the Dragon after a very short appearance
in the second episode of the prequel
Show's newest season halfway through the
latest episode we see the usual story of
the blacks and the greens unfold as
they're scheming and plotting against
one another comes to a screeching Al for
a short trip to the local pub in King's
Landing once again we see the same man
with scraggly gray hair entering the
badly lit Pub all amped up to meet his
friends this man who's greeted as UL
pulls up a chair and starts chatting and
joking around just like everyone
normally does in a bar while having a
chat with his friends UL confides in a
dornish man on how his house never
settled in the dornish region even if
Dorne mourned the death of his
grandfather he then goes out on a
stretch to claim that his grandfather
was known as the conciliate while
referring to Jaris I fourth King in the
Targaryen Dynasty the grandfather of
King viseris I and great-grandfather of
both Queen rer the first and King aegon
II according to this scruffy looking man
he's the son of Balon the brave who was
the son of King Jaris He also mentioned
that if anyone were to discover this he
could be beheaded because a Dragon Seed
must watch his own neck when there is no
white cloaked Guardsman to do it for him
but before UL can elaborate on his
supposed Heritage or offer any proof
he's interrupted by the unexpected
arrival of King aegon II at the pub
literally seconds after proclaiming his
support for anira UL knels in fty of
course to avoid losing his head but it's
not like UL could prove his claims
anyways right he's probably just one of
many drunks in flea bottom claiming to
be secret royalty well maybe or maybe
not you might have noticed that UL isn't
the only nobody introduced in this
season so far we also met the the
blacksmith Hugh Hammer Allen of Hull and
Allen's brother Adam there's a reason
for all these seemingly minor characters
appearing in season 2 out of nowhere and
it's because they're all Dragon seeds
who are set to play a crucial role in
the upcoming War you C me my head you
are saying your
tar what is a Dragon seed for those who
haven't read the books yet I'm sure you
guys probably had your eyebrows raised
into a big blank question mark when you
heard the term Dragon SE now UL didn't
just randomly invent the concept of
being a Dragon Seed ironically it's a
rather common term in Westeros often
used to refer to a bastard of Valyrian
descent a Dragon seed is a person
fathered or mothered by a member of a
Valyrian family like House Targaryen or
house valaran which means that they have
the blood of the Dragon flowing in their
veins but being a Dragon seed is
politically risky just as UL described
if you remember we've seen it happen
repeatedly in Game of Thrones where the
nobility of the Seven Kingdoms had
almost no tolerance for Royal bastards
born out of wedland at best bastards are
either an annoying reminder of their
infinite Fidelity worst they're executed
after being seen as a dire threat to the
stability of a house however being a
Dragon Seed does come with a few major
benefits one of which is the potential
to ride a dragon in reality no one
really knows how to become a dragon
rider but we have definitely learned
that having Valyrian blood helps while
not all targaryens automatically bond
with a dragon like poor Raina in the
show who hasn't been able to claim one
yet still someone with Valyrian ancestry
has a far better chance of connecting
with a dragon than someone without it
given the current scenario the black
blacks are dealing with a tricky
situation while they oversee Dragon
Stone which is a home to many dragons
they actually lack enough Dragon Riders
to command them all the latest episode
only serves as a reminder of this
dilemma with Lor valerian's old Dragon
sea smoke soaring above the castle
without a rider looking Restless lonely
and abandoned while rira eventually
figures out that she would need more
Firepower on her side it would be
logical for her to seek out some of the
many Dragon seeds scattered throughout
the
crownlands hey have a nephew
how is UL the white related to King Egon
II and Queen rira in House of the Dragon
UL has already mentioned that he is the
son of Balon Targaryen with a commoner
now Balon the brave was proclaimed as
heir to King Jaris the conciliator but
unfortunately he met his untimely death
after suffering from a burst belly which
in modern medical terms is known as
appendicitis anyways it was the sudden
death of King Jar's last surviving son
that prompted the Old King to allow the
Lords of Westeros to choose their next
ruer before he died Balon rode vagar and
wielded one of the most famous Valyrian
steel swords dark sister which was later
passed on to Damon as for vagar the
dragon remained riderless after balon's
death until Lena valaran eventually
mounted her later after Lena's death
vagar was claimed by Aon Targaryen now
in Fire and Blood Balon is said to be
deeply devoted to his wife often turning
down advances from others later in life
in order to stay loyal to her this
suggests that it's unlikely for him to
have fed a Dragon Seed like UL however
House of the Dragon isn't hesitant about
making tweaks to the story line instead
of considering all the details from the
books and one such change could be ul's
claim as the grandson of Jaris Targaryen
the first so if ol's story is true by
any chance being Balon the Brave's son
would make him the uncle to both Queen
rira and King aegon II he would also be
the great uncle of their children I
think if the house of the Dragon decides
to explore more of this connection it
has the potential to offer plenty of
intriguing twists as the series
progresses all how the king all
he who is UL the white in Fire and Blood
in this Source material for the prequel
show UL goes by quite a few different
names he's mainly known as UL the white
for his withered white hair or UL theat
for being an illiterate drunk even in
the books he was nowhere to be found
before the event that came to be known
as The Sewing of the seeds which we are
expecting to see unfold in the latter
half of season 2 while the evidence of
his true parentage never comes to light
UL finally stopped hiding himself when
Prince jeris Valyrian called on all the
Targaryen and Ian bastards to try and
claim all the wild dragons during the
sewing of the seeds if you didn't know
the sewing is known as the time when
queen rera found herself reeling from a
catastrophic battle with more dragons at
hand than any dragon Riders so she
tasked Prince jeras valaran to summon
all the bastards of the Targaryen and
Valyrian house in order to claim any
riderless dragon to support Queen
rainer's blacks and fight for her in the
war in exchange they were promised lands
and titles now only a rare few succeeded
in this daring task and UL the white was
amongst them UL the white initially
started off as a man-at-arms when the
dance of dragons began when Prince jeris
called for Dragon Riders In 129 AC UL
managed to mount Silverwood alongside
other Dragon seeds like Hugh Hammer
Nettles and Adam Valyrian UL fought
bravely beside jeris in the battle of
the gullet although Jace met his end
rather tragically during the conflict
after the battle UL began to capitalize
on his accomplishment and started going
by the name Ulf white in order to
highlight his Targaryen lineage after
the great battle of gullet King's
Landing fell under the siege of Queen
rira following this Prince Damon
Targaryen proposed that UL should marry
the daughter of the late Lord stoew
however queen rira turned down this idea
and instead she kned ul and he granting
them lands on drift Mark as a reward for
their loyalty according to rumors heard
by the court jester mushroom fully
drunken UL once rode through flea bottom
wearing nothing but golden Spurs later
when Damon suggested that they should
punish house Baratheon and Lannister for
supporting King aegon targaryan II by
granting storms and to Al rira rejects
the idea after being opposed by Lord
corus valer UL the betrayer in 130 AC
during the first battle of tumbleton rer
sent UL white and Hugh Hammer to fight
for the black faction and defend the
town of tumbleton but both of them
switched sides from the blacks to the
greens and helped Lord Orman high tower
in defeating the black Army this
betrayal earned them the infamous title
of the two betrayers following this
Prince Deon Targaryen rewarded UL by
appointing him as the Lord of bitter but
UL wasn't satisfied and wished to secure
High Garden instead meanwhile King Egon
II was missing and his children were
still infants plus with Amon Targaryen
losing his life after a duel with Damon
Targaryen and Darren still being a young
man Hugh Hammer decided to claim the
iron throne for himself the very next
day sir hobbert Hightower who was a part
of the caltrops arrived to meet ul and
pretend to show his support with the
betrayers claim to the Iron Throne as a
gift hobbert brought UL two barrels of
wine one being dornish red and the other
being Arbor gold as hobbert knew that
all favored the sweeter Arbor gold he
had the whole Cask poisoned now UL might
have been a drunk but he wasn't a fool
highly suspicious of htt's generosity UL
commanded him to set the dornish red
aside and insisted that he should be the
first one to taste the arbor gold with
no other choice left hobbert drank the
arbor gold first and then went on to
request a second cup praising its taste
after seeing the wine was safe UL drank
three cups of the wine himself but soon
the poison began to take effect and UL
fell into a very deep sleep causing him
to pass away peacefully about an hour
later meanwhile sir hbert hi Tower
already knew that the poison was gentle
so tried to throw it up but it was
already too late and after failing to
purge the poison he succumbed to it as
well so that's the tale of UL the white
or more appropriately UL the betrayer
many say that if Hugh and UL did not
betray rira she might have won the war
but I guess the old gods and the new had
different plans laid out for the black
queen with that being said do you think
Hot D is going to differ from ul's
original storyline and go on to give him
a Redemption Arc would it be something
the hardcore fans might want to see
