dragon overlords when dragons ruled the

then known as the ancient capital Broman

jar was the major seat of power for the

dragon cult as the Dragons of the

Maratha Cairo were more interested in

conquest of the land rather than the

mundane duties of governance the dragon

priests were installed to ensure order

and worship amongst the populace devoted

to their masters these beings oversaw

the populace with harsh control

effectively subjugating the people of

Skyrim in this time a great many

monuments to both dragons and their

first year of the fourth era it also

gave the slumbering priests a reason to

break free of their sarcophagi they

returned to Skyrim with renewed vigor

now decrepit and skeletal each wearing

priests have nor AK could be theorized

as having something to do with o-tar's

madness as a priest he practiced

mind-control magic influencing the minds

of those who followed him they became

enthralled with his power

serving him in his own ambitious

pursuits his name is suitable when you

consider his deeds meaning brutality in

the Dragon tongue he subjected his

followers and enemies to a great manner

of evil and torture you can see this in

his fourth era tomb laden with sadistic

machines heavne rock was also

interesting for another reason his

obsession with his own death and

resurrection through meticulous planning

he drained the blood from himself

planning to transfer his own power back

into him

and become a lich after death his ritual

made sure that one day he'd return as a

powerful lich regardless of whether the

dragons returned but a Nord warrior

named Valda aimed to stop this he bound

himself to Hefner AK ensuring that even

in death his ghost would be able to stop

the priests return Hefner axe mask is

made of iron and offers immunity to

disease and poison quite the prized item

and fitting for a priest desiring

eternal life now Creon may have been one

of the highest-ranking priests in Skyrim

said to serve Alduin himself his name

means vengeance in the Dragon tongue and

he guards skull dolphin a ruin that

contains a portal to sovngarde now Crane

is one of the only two dragon priests in

Skyrim who don't rise from their

sarcophagi in this case it's likely

because he was awoken by Aldo and

specifically to guard the portal in the

temple his mask is made of Ebony used

alongside his staff to operate the

portal in the ruins he was likely

especially powerful with magic

considering that his mask gives the

priests have been risen by other means

holdren for example is a priest awoken

by a necromancer in life he served in

sky shroud Barrow buried alongside

devotees like the other priests though

necromancer took advantage of the haven

of undead turning them against their

someone to rid his tomb of the necrotic

influence and he's eventually given

peace with his Barrow returned to rest

natural Magica around it pledged to

guard the artifact in both life and

death he retains the most lively

appearance of any priests it's unclear

what he was offered by Sher gorath to

tempt him into eternal service we do

know however that his duty was as much

enslavement as a gift never leaving the

ruins of Alden grove ever again in the

end it's impressive to see how the long

influence of the dragon cult has

remained in Tamriel from the earliest

days of the Maratha Cairo when dragons

ruled the power of these beasts and

their cults echoes through time clinging

to life in the form of draaga and

revitalized by their followers the

dragon priests along with their masks

and weapons are reminders of the mighty

beings that they worship and that ladies

and gentlemen is to the dragon priests

ancient zealous kings who ruled for the

Dragons during the Maratha Kara now

retaining the last of their life force
