Transcripts
it's been a long time but today we are
taking out the
9R uh you guys think I should carry one
of these you gave me a whole lot of
in the comments for not carrying a spare
quick drive belt but one of the reasons
I'm hesitant to put a spare quick drive
belt in the belt holder like you guys
say is see how this is all
melted I've seen several guys with
melted belts in here from the exhaust so
I don't really want to lose a $400 belt
in
there thing might already be blowing a
spark
plug yep there she
goes round
two
I just changed both plugs it's uh I
wasn't exactly sure which one and it
looked like they were both in there for
a while so first plug of the year not
too
[Music]
bad
[Music]
So the plan for today is kind of compare
the 155 9R to Hugo's 146 turbo we'll see
if we can climb the same stuff see if
one of us climbs better
I have the track length he has the Turbo
[Music]
Power this
is not that good it's kind of tracked
up
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
no
just hold this thing wide open and let
it
chew so the 9R now has 2,000 km on it if
you're new watching here we rode this
sled all last year and you know besides
having one major flaw with the the
clutch exploding this sled never let me
down it always worked well uh never
bogged great throttle response on the 9R
and getting back on that 9R today I'm
like wow I forgot how good the throttle
response is on this how Snappy it is it
uh feels like it lacks a little in the
in the top end but overall it still
works really well it's a good low
elevation tree riding machine uh the
Boost feels a lot heavier than this sled
this sled does feel very light you're
not as tired at the end of the day
riding this one that's my that's my
quick little 2,000 km review on this
sled
be
[Music]
oh did you go blow a
Bel how many kilm for that belt that
belt 75 75 km and 300 the first one 300
on your first one yeah 75 km on that
belt for Hugo 300 on his first
one secondary is
fine
you
see
oh
I think my dad likes having the Trail
Tech GPS on his sled cuz he's just
bombing through the woods following
me not on my track for once it's right
there how'd you like being able to track
me through the bush without following me
that's it's the best thing ever Hugo you
hit you hit a tree back there with my
head
I don't know if my lunch is going to
stay in there today might end up in my
belt
drive see if we can regroup with
everybody he gets thick
[Music]
here
oh we're on the main trail look at
that we are just an absolute disaster
here today we got guys in the trees just
all over the place
completely
scattered I'm making a Bel line here for
Jerry should meet up with
him definitely not climbing back up
right
here uh-oh gets
[Music]
thicker
I'll go have a look up there we have
tracks just that way a
[Music]
bit looks like dad's making his own line
here we'll follow him see where he ends
up
uhoh now I'm
stuck should we try that
again oh no I'm
really holy crap I'm dying
here
that was two really dumb stucks
there oh
man tried to shoot through the same
trees
twice dad was trying to go straight up
this uh bit of a bench that's right
here you can kind of see the wall
through here he wanted to go straight up
that for some reason even though I I
said we'll go in here and we'll follow
our tracks back
and on our map it shows our
tracks right down here that's a fun line
right
there
[Music]
still moving oh there he
[Music]
goes did he just keep going straight yep
he went
straight okay I guess I'll follow him I
was going to go this
way I think he's stuck
now
[Music]
well you had nice
lines well I'm screwed too what what are
you doing there Jerry you got some
shoveling to do uh yeah a little bit cuz
I can't roll it cuz the trees in the way
trees are in the way so shoveling is the
only option now can you shovel mine too
you don't have to show yours I just give
you a ski
pole all right I'm out have how about
you getting
close what was
that as I once was well there's a gross
couple stucks
here I think we're out definitely going
to have to saw some still Jerry took off
on
[Music]
me oh no I'm not even going to be up
from
here this is
bull oh the snow is
just there's nothing to it
here just sugar
snow okay we'll try go that
way
[Music]
this thing is
[Music]
useless I'm getting a little frustrated
here because
apparently Doug said he's hurt dereck's
with him
but I can't get back
[Music]
[Music]
up
should just be able to get it around
this corner
though yeah we got some easy hallways
here
[Music]
now
holy I think my lunch might be
overcooked
here yep we got some blackened ribs here
the players Cooks a lot hotter than this
sco
turbo blackened ribs anyone are they
burnt no they're crispy just how I like
it they're all day no I put them in like
an hour ago but that's an hour I had to
get up here before I took them out I
think you've been working then so what
happened next here is Doug and Derek
don't know exactly where they are I'm
pretty sure I know where they were but
we're just going to kind of practice a
drill here for future use in case we
ever need to use it okay when you get
into the situation like this is what you
have to do pull out your map and you're
going to tell us what your coordinates
are we're going to punch it into our map
and it's going to tell us where the are
this is this a good learning thing 9 4 5
7 get all that
yeah just repeat the last repeat the
last one
please 5 I work without self-service No
it should work straight down from here
basically Doug said on the radio that he
was hurt so I mean Derrick's with him
and he's not hurt like that bad but
apparently his ankle's messed up
so we uh back get back to him and figure
out what's going on they're not far back
here though they're pretty much on the
the trail just just off the
side just look over your right shoulder
I see you right
[Music]
there you want to turn it around and
face it this way cuz we'll go we'll go
on an angle like this we'll hit the main
trail and then you could sit down and
ride the whole time getting dud back to
the single track here he's not too hurt
just uh just did his ankle pretty good
we gave him a couple Avil couple
Tylenol I think he'll be all
[Music]
right okay we're going to do a little
more plan through
here Doug didn't want to go down yet
surprisingly
[Music]
ah
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
oh you're pretty much
direct wow this get
[Music]
steep
[Music]
[Music]
oh
[Music]
[Music]
oh
that was
steep very
[Music]
steep I can't do anything cool on this
I'll leave that to
Hugo
[Music]
not stuck but I'm a a Tre oh he does a
high Mark and then he does
this Doug how those drugs working oh a
little bit better they're not helping
100% though we should take some more
yeah I
know Jerry's helping
[Applause]
[Music]
Jerry's
[Music]
that sled holds a side Hill like
nobody's business
but it's not very
playful okay we're on hugos 146 free
ride here super low bar Riser that's
like 2
in
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
a
I love that blowoff
valve we'll take the limber strap and
we'll take it from long to
[Music]
short see
that wow that's a huge difference I got
it I can actually
climb it really uh throws me downhill
though too much ski
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
pressure
[Laughter]
okay which way are we going do you want
to try and go down Hugo or just take the
normal
way down you want to go down okay I
don't know what we're going to
find the group wants to go down
so hopefully it doesn't get too thick
don't know if we can actually get down
there's one little bench
here
well we can't go that
way I've looked at this once
before just wait here for a
[Music]
minute huh oh pretty sure I could drop
down oh maybe not if I had my Turbo i'
I'd just swing right down there and
check it out but I don't do I really
want to walk
down I mean I know I don't
but oh man I'm already going to have
trouble getting back out of
here I mean I could get down there no
problem okay
this is the planer no
[Music]
return
easy easy
money down good to
come all that section's good I don't
know what's next but yeah come on
down
what are you doing
man I'm going go straight off there
pretty steep
Cliff you're crazy man Hugo just likes
the adrenaline look at the snow go down
there it's a straight up Cliff right
there
Austin
yeah oh he's
good outed
him well it doesn't look like we're
doing so hot here Taylor dumped
it you should have seen Taylor he's not
going to like that dude my sled could
have been Taylor let his slide go
[Laughter]
really he's going to do what Taylor did
no no oh get on get on the other side on
the wrong side oh uh-oh yeah you should
have got neutral on there I think he's
good I'll go go up and check on
him
Doug put her in Reverse for a
[Music]
sec that track is good just to follow
right down to the bottom you should be
[Music]
fine
what do we got here we got low fuel we
got an engine
light find it hard to believe I'm low
fuel and we are out of
here you can't park
there
that's uh all the the guides doing guide
training I have to make some kind of
joke on the side
here that c one
time
