Outlines
đ Review of ON Cloud Surfer After 100 Miles
The reviewer, kapuzi, discusses the ON Cloud Surfer running shoes after using them for 100 miles. Initially, kapuzi had a pattern of losing interest in running shoes over time, but the Cloud Surfer has broken this cycle. The shoes are comfortable for daily use and recovery days, with a pleasant 'squishiness' and bounce that doesn't lead to fatigue on longer runs. The reviewer does not recommend them for high-intensity workouts due to their cushioned nature. The shoes were provided by ON for review purposes, but the reviewer is not paid for the review, and ON does not preview the content. The Cloud Surfer's performance, comfort, and durability are all positively assessed, with the reviewer noting only minor signs of wear after 100 miles, particularly in the foam and upper materials. The shoe's design, including the Helion midsole foam and Cloud Tech phase, is praised for its durability and performance.
đââïž Durability and Personal Preferences for ON Cloud Surfer
In the second paragraph, kapuzi continues the review by discussing the shoe's durability and personal preferences. The upper of the Cloud Surfer shows minimal signs of wear, and the color appears to have faded slightly, which might be due to the reviewer's memory. Structurally, the shoe is still comfortable with no rubbing or signs of failure. The reviewer appreciates the Swiss engineering and the shoe's design, which is a departure from ON's usual style. There's a mention of slight wear at the heel where the Achilles might rub against the padding, but overall, the upper is expected to last long. The reviewer consistently chooses to wear the Cloud Surfer, which is a positive change from their past experiences with ON shoes. Suggestions for improvement include reducing the puffiness at the back of the shoe for better summer performance and the adoption of the Cloud Surfer's cloud technology across other models. The reviewer envisions a future lineup where the Cloud Surfer could be the centerpiece, with other models like the Cloud Monster and Cloud Boom Echo 3 being updated to complement it. The video concludes with an invitation for viewers to share their thoughts and to join live discussions on YouTube.

one problem I've had with all the on
running shoes I've tried is that I
really like them at first but then as
the miles wear on and the hype Fades I
find myself enjoying them less and less
but one of their latest shoes finally
breaks that pattern this is the on cloud
Surfer and it's time to talk about them
after 100 miles

yo what's going on everybody my name is
kapuzi and I'm a non-elite runner who
reviews shoes here on YouTube and today
I want to talk to you guys about the on
cloud Surfer after 100 miles but before
I do I do want to go over some
disclosures this is a pair of shoes that
onset me for the purpose or review so I
did not have to pay for them however
they're not paying me to make this video
or to use the shoe and they're not going
to get a chance to preview any of my
footage or my thoughts before you guys
get a chance to see this video on
YouTube so with that disclosure out of
the way let's talk about the on cloud
Surfer after 100 miles so as this is my
second video now on the on cloud Surfer
I'm going to kind of build on that first
one and I'll put a link to that original
video down in the description where I go
over the specs shoes that I think the on
cloud Surfer pair as well with and some
of the competition that the on cloud
Surfer faces in terms of its pricing and
in terms of how the shoe performs for
this 100 mile review for this update
what I want to go over is how I've been
using the shoe and how the shoe has been
holding up over those miles so first
let's talk about High been using the
shoe I don't think the way I've been
using the shoe has changed from when I
initially reviewed this shoe I think
that the shoe is still for me very much
an easy day shoe and sometimes even a
recovery day shoe there is a really nice
squishiness to this shoe that I find
very pleasant and very comforting on
those recovery days but it's not so
squishy that it's Gonna Get You bogged
down or you're not going to be fighting
against it so there's a really nice
amount of Bounce to it too so it's not
too mushy I can take the shoe for longer
runs and be on feet in it for a very
long time without it getting to be
fatiguing and I can even use it to pick
up the pace a little bit for something
like strides as it is still a relatively
light shoe and that springiness does
help you turn the feet over the only
thing is I'm not sure I would take it
out for a full-blown workout something
where I was going to be doing like mile
repeats or 800 repeats or anything like
that because I feel like then at that
point the squishiness might be a little
bit overwhelming in the experience and I
might look for something with either
some carbon in it or something that is a
little bit more on the responsive side
than it is on the cushioned side but I
don't think this is trying to be a
workout shoe for anyone instead what it
wants to be is a comfortable all-around
running shoe that also fits well into
daily living as I do think that the shoe
looks really nice and is very
comfortable for casual wear as well now
let's talk about how the shoe has held
up over the last hundred miles now 100
miles isn't the end life of a shoe it
gives me enough time to get a sense for
how quickly the Foams might be degrading
or how quickly some of the materials
like the upper or the outsole are
wearing down and in this shoe I can say
that it's holding up just about as well
as I would expect it to looking at the
foam here we've got aunt's helion
midsole foam material and there's these
channels that run across the width of
the shoe that is called ons Cloud Tech
phase this is a new kind of cloud or
like holes in the shoe that on is
introduced for this particular model for
the first time
and I find that those on clouds are
doing a pretty good job of making a
cushioned yet slightly bouncy running
experience but those things do wear down
over time and I'm starting to see a
little bit of creasing which is a sign
that it is starting to degrade but I
don't feel like this shoe is degrading
too quickly I feel like it's kind of
exactly where I would expect a shoe to
be at the 100 mile Point not exactly out
of the box fresh but not feeling like
it's going to die out anytime soon
either so I'm very happy with the way
that both the midsole material and also
kind of like the structural elements of
that cloud Tech phase uh how well that's
holding up now as far as the outsole
goes there is this Center portion of the
midfoot where there is exposed midsole
foam and then there's patches of rubber
on the heel and in the forefoot the
rubber in those areas is holding up
really well a little bit of scuffing and
wear that I'm starting to see but pretty
much what I would expect at the 100 mile
point so nothing concerning it's holding
up just fine and as far as the exposed
midsole portions I feel like until the
last like 10 or 20 miles or so it felt
like there was nowhere and tear visible
on them at all but it is starting to get
scuffed up a little bit but overall I
think that this exposed foam is doing
exactly what it's supposed to be doing
in terms of holding up over the course
of the miles now as far as the upper
goes it's still very comfortable it's
very squishy I do feel like maybe the
color is fading or maybe it's just my
mind and how I'm remembering it a little
bit different but I do feel like maybe
there's a little bit of slight signs of
visual wear but structurally everything
feels fine nothing's rubbing nothing had
been rubbing at all and I don't feel
like anything is going to fail at any
point soon there is that Swiss
engineering that's built into this shoe
that is part of that on running Heritage
and I feel like it's shining through
really well here even though this design
is a little bit of a departure from what
on normally brings to us there's a lot
of padding in the back part of the heel
and I think that there's a little bit of
a sign of wear are just at this point
where the Achilles might rub against
some of this extra thick padding but
other than that everything feels still
really comfortable and nothing is
wearing down faster than I would expect
I feel like this is shoe whose upper is
also going to last for a really long
time and overall I would say through the
course of my testing of the shoe I found
myself constantly gravitating back
towards it again and again which is kind
of the opposite experience that I've
typically had with some on running shoes
so it was really nice to be able to see
that I feel like on as a brand is doing
a lot of things well in the running
world and I felt like sometimes the
running product didn't quite match up to
everything else they were doing and
seeing this shoe is really exciting for
me because it's a brand that I've been
rooting for and now there's kind of like
a hero shoe that I can finally get
behind the on cloud Surfer definitely
holds up past the height so I think the
way that I'm going to end this video is
talk about things that I might change
about the on cloud Surfer now overall I
don't think that there's a ton that
needs to be changed with the shoe I
really feel like on knocked it out of
the ball park with this one I think that
they've got a hit on their hands I think
the only real tweak that I would make is
that I just think it's too puffy in the
back of the shoe and that might just be
a personal preference but I don't love
shoes that are really puffy like in the
tongue and especially not in the back of
the heel cup especially for Summer
Running I feel like it just ends up
being a sweat sponge I'd love to see the
adoption of the new clouds in the on
cloud Surfer pretty much across the
entire line I feel like the on cloud
Surfer really is that good that they
could rebuild the on running lineup
around that shoe and some of the things
that that shoe incorporates like getting
rid of the speedboard changing the kind
of the shape and directionality of some
of these on clouds I'd love to see kind
of like a maxed out squishiness
experience of the cloud surfer in the
cloud monster I think that'd be really
fun to run in if they put the upper from
the on cloud Surfer that super puffy one
and put it on on cloud monster and kind
of make it like a Super Bubble Butt
monstrous experience that the on cloud
mods are kind of like is inviting and
hoping to evoke think that'd be really
fun to run in and the other way that you
would then round out the lineup is
they've got the on cloud boom Echo 3
that's coming out soon hopefully I'll be
able to get a chance to test that racing
shoe but for those who still want more
of like a kind of classic on experience
but in this kind of updated package is I
think that like we can continue to get
rid of the speedboard and then maybe
consider even getting rid of some of the
clouds there's no reason in the name of
the brand on that we have to have clouds
in all the shoes I'd love to see an on
shoe that didn't have any clouds at all
that could be kind of like the speed day
trainer or the workout shoe or just that
everyday trainer for people who may not
love the extra squishiness that the on
cloud Surfer provides and I think that
with like a cloudless speed day shoe the
on cloud Surfer and a reworked on cloud
monster and an updated Cloud boom Echo
then on could finally have a top to
bottom lineup that could compete with a
lot of the other more established brands
that are out there they don't have have
that quite yet but I do feel like the on
cloud Surfer can definitely be that
franchise player that they can build the
entire team around and I'm looking
forward to seeing what other changes are
coming from on in the future so those
are my thoughts on the on cloud Surfer
after 100 miles and I guess on on as a
brand in general in 2023 let me know in
the comments if you have any other
questions or if you think I'm completely
wrong I'd love to hear your thoughts on
that too or better yet tell it to me in
the chat in the live stream that I do
Monday through Friday right here on
YouTube I'd love to talk to you guys
over there in real time that's all I
have for today everybody thanks so much
for making it all the way to the end of
this video hopefully you guys are
staying safe out there on your runs and
I will see you in the next one yo
