Transcripts
this is the best build in once's human
period pairing top tier single point
damage with an insane area of effect all
while debuffing your enemies and healing
yourself in the process you're going to
want to sit up and pay attention for
this one what's up y'all hater here and
in today's video I'm going to break down
this insane Frost Vortex build I've been
putting together since the start of
phase 2 having used it to do just about
everything from speed clearing hard
silos to defeating hard mode bosses in a
single magazine and even melting Prim
more bosses I'm going to go over
everything you need need to put this
Build Together from the weapons and
armor with mods to the Deviant and
damage rotation you'll need to make this
build Shine the crazy thing about this
build is that it's not even as good as
it can be as there are still slight
changes I want to make but I'm at the
mercy of RNG for farming perfect mods
I've also included a short section later
in the video that's timestamped if you
want to just look at everything without
an explanation but I'd recommend
watching the entire video one because I
explain how and why everything works
together and two it helps me out as a
Creator either way let's get into it
first and foremost it's important to
understand just exactly what Frost
Vortex is Frost Vortex is a damage type
that applies a continuous debuff and
continuous damage in an area of effect
you'll trap enemies in a 4 and2 met
radius and inflict 30 s intensity status
damage per second for 4 seconds so each
Frost Vortex will inflict four instances
of damage as it states here up to two
Frost Vortex can exist at a time
continuously applying damage but with
this build you'll be able to have three
because this build revolves around
status and frost damage you're going to
want to make sure you build into that at
every opportunity and you'll see how
that's emphasized throughout the entire
setup as for the build itself let's
start with the main weapon that it's
centered around the frost Vortex assault
rifle Abyss glance you can unlock this
weapon to craft either from randomly
getting it to drop from the wish machine
or you can purchase the blueprint for it
outright for 8,000 starom an investment
that I think is absolutely worth it it
has four weapon features all designed
around spawning Frost Vortex while
shooting enemies they state that hitting
enemies 20 times Trigg Frost Vortex that
can be either body shots or Precision
hits either way anytime you shoot an
enemy you're building up enough hits to
trigger Frost Vortex secondly hitting
weak spots will count as two hits so if
you hit 10 weak spots that will trigger
a frost Vortex meaning in order for it
to be most effective you want to be
hitting those weak spots additionally
the closer to the center of the frost
Vortex since it's an AOE effect the
higher the frost damage up to 200% when
a Target is in the center and lastly
Frost damage is increased by 30% so
already you can see that the weapon
itself leans heavy on status damage so
you'll want to be specking into that
which you'll see a lot more of in the
build keeping that in mind I went with
this set of calibration attributes
giving plus 15% attack plus 30% range
and- 7 1 12% rate of fire with a
whopping 177% increase to Elemental
damage a slapped on The Mod Vortex
multiplier which gives an additional
Frost Vortex spawn bringing the cap up
from 2 to three onto the secondary
weapon and this is more for offensive
support than anything I went with a
bullseye pistol Wildfire applying the
continuous debuff Bullseye will
highlight a marked Target applying the
8% vulnerability debuff for 8 seconds
allowing you to do 8% more damage to
anything you mark the main reason I use
this over the recurve crossbow that many
other people opt for is because of how
much this weapon can influence the build
you'll have a 60% chance to trigger
Bullseye when hitting a Target and an
80% chance to spread that Bullseye to
one enemy within a 15 M area if there's
no other enemies in that area say you're
fighing a boss you'll get a 25% weapon
damage buff Additionally you can gain up
to 9% attack from hitting the weak spot
of an already marked Target so whether
you're wanting to debuff a boss while
also buffing yourself or you're wanting
to mark an entire room before clearing
it out this thing is the perfect support
weapon for this and pretty much any
build as for the mod to pair with this
there are actually three that can be
rotated out depending on what you want
vulnerability amplifier will add another
8% vulnerability to your Bullseye procs
so you can use it to do even more damage
to marked enemies Hunter's perk will
reduce the outgoing damage from anything
you mark by 20% Which I personally would
use against Elites or bosses you're
fighting where cover is more limited and
lastly recover Mark which heals you and
gives you stamina back when defeating
Mark targets perfect for running and
gunning through silos and healing you so
you don't need to burn your activators
now this weapon costs 2,000 starcom and
many would opt to run the recurve
crossbow since you can get the blueprint
from a stronghold and it's guaranteed to
proc bullseye on a weak spot hit but
it's a single fire weapon that obviously
needs to be constantly reloaded Wildfire
gives you much more versatility overall
so that's why I recommend picking it up
if you can spare the starcom As for the
calibration attributes I went with the
portable style Mobility movement speed
while firing is increased by 50 movement
speed while holding gun plus 10% and
weapon switching speed plus 50% mine
also has double weak spot damage just
because I'm probably going to be hitting
weak spots to boost my attack so I
wanted to focus on that and that brings
us to our third and final weapon our
melee option the Frozen northern pike
it's perfect since the build focuses
heavily on status and frost damage this
weapon will immediately freeze anything
hit with either a heavy attack or the
Sprint impact attack generating a frost
Vortex once every 4 seconds but that's
not all it will heal you for 5% of your
health when attacking a frozen Target
consuming two stamina as for the mod you
can further boost this weapon's healing
ability by equipping Frosty blessings to
heal you for 10% when your Frost Vortex
disappears turning this melee weapon
into a Non-Stop healing machine next
I'll cover the armor pieces you'll need
to make the build work starting with the
key armor you're going to want to use
the Epic chest piece Frost tactical vest
with its unique effect every time you
create a frost Vortex you'll generate
ice spikes that deal Frost damage equal
to 100% of your sigh intensity this
gives your Frost Vortex another source
of damage that will proc alongside that
takes some Frost damage from the
vortexes themselves as for the gear set
for this build you want to run a four
piece of the shelter set the reason
being is that this is the highest tier
set that focuses on boosting your status
damage and its set effects the the first
effect is nice but not all that great
giving you plus 15% Dr against status
effects but the second third and fourth
effects are where it really takes off
wearing two pieces will give you an
extra 8% element damage by wearing three
pieces each weapon hit will grant one
stack of what they're calling deviant
energy which despite its name does
nothing for your deviant energy level
and gives you a 1% boost your Elemental
damage stacking up to 20 times until you
reload the weapon which removes half
your stacks and by wearing the fourth
and final piece you'll be able to get an
additional 10 stacks of deviant energy
for a total of 30 and hitting a weak
spot will grant you three total deviant
energy per hit making it very easy to
ramp those stacks back up to Max after
you reload this leaves you with a six
slot open and in my opinion you only
really have two options as most gear
set's first perk don't really do much to
boost your overall damage output with
that in mind you'll want to use either a
piece from the Renegade set to boost
your reload speed by 15% or what I run a
piece from The Lone Wolf set to give you
10% more ammo in your magazine granted I
chose this because I'm also working on
an unstable bomber build with the Lone
Wolf set but that's another talk for
another video onto the mods you'll want
to slot in your armor and outside of the
core effect on your mods you're going to
want to prioritize perks like status
damage Frost damage Elemental damage and
either Elite or preferably great ones
damage to make sure your Frost Vortex
damage is as strong as possible against
the tougher targets you'll come across
on the helmet you'll want deviation
expert though you lose 25% of your range
you'll get a 10% boost to your rate of
fire as well as a flat 20% increase in
status damage there doesn't seem to be
any damage fall off on your Frost Vortex
so losing a little bit of range is an
okay trade-off I manag to Max my status
damage on this piece and when I get more
mod components I'll finish enhancing
this mod and pray that the last upgrade
goes to great ones damage on the mask
you want the lingering Frost core effect
which essentially boosts the final
damage of your Frost Vortex up to 60%
the longer your Frost Vortex inflicts
damage which makes it perfect for things
like bosses and Elites the chest piece
gets a little weird because the options
are all very heavy weighted towards
healing and increasing damage resist or
movement speed so this is a case where
you want to use a blue mod specifically
flame resonance this can also roll with
the FX talents giving you more element
damage but I'm running the one without
because it also has a boost to damage
against great ones on the pants
Precision charge is pretty much the only
option since it's the only one I've seen
that boosts either status or element
damage short of equipping another blue
flame residence mod it relies on you
hitting weak spots though as it states
that for every 10% weak spot hit rate of
the previous magazine you'll get a 4%
boost to Elemental damage for 10 seconds
which is stackable up to 24% lasting for
10 seconds again there's more status
damage in the top slot but I don't have
one with that and great ones yet so I'll
be looking out for that to make this do
even more damage to bosses on the gloves
you want to use the mod status
enhancement for another flat 20%
increase to your status damage now I'm
still farming for the right role of this
but on the build and all the footage
you've seen I was running Elemental
overload for the 18% boost to element
damage with status and Elite damage in
the attribute effects you can also opt
to run an epic version of status
enhancement in the interim as it also
has a flat boost to status damage of 16%
and lastly on to the boots covered
Advance gives you the biggest bump to
damage for the longest amount of time
for simply not taking damage it states
that taking no damage for 4 seconds
grants you a 20% increase to your melee
weapon and Status damage for 30 seconds
resetting after the 30 seconds is up so
as long as you can go 4 seconds without
taking any sort of damage you'll have
that boost for 30 seconds during which
you can take damage and still keep the
buff up after the 30 seconds are
complete just go another 4 seconds
without taking damage and you can do it
all over again next up let's go over the
best deviant to pair with this build the
polar jelly that drops from the PVP
event cargo Shuffle this is already one
of the best deviants for supplemental
damage anyways and when you use it with
this frost build you'll do 31 1 12% more
Frost damage to anything taking damage
from The Polar jelly and any Frost
vortexes that are formed inside this
damage radius will create additional ice
spikes on top of the ice spikes you'll
already be creating thanks to the frost
TX vest ideally if you can get close and
just drop the jelly for the auto attack
you'll get a little more time out of the
damage boost and honestly sometimes when
you throw the jelly at things it has
some weird tracking and can hit things
in front of you if you're not careful
with it it's one of those things you'll
just need to get comfortable with by
using the last part of the actual build
I'll go over before getting to the
damage rotation is the cradle and cradle
mods some of these are personal
preference but anything that boosts your
damage output is key the non-negotiables
are status enhancement for its boost to
status damage sustain suppression to
boost status damage while clearing mobs
automatic weapon enhancement which gives
you a 20% damage boost when using Abyss
glance and refunds ammo when killing
enemies and tactical combo to give you a
25% weapon damage boost when swapping
back and forth as you mark targets with
Bullseye agility is personal preference
because I have a serious problem with
rolling every chance I get Bounty Hunter
will further boost your damage when
defeating targets marked from your
Bullseye weapon AKA wildfire and these
last two will lead us into the damage
rotation for the build master tactician
which gives you a 25% increase to damage
against ones for 15 seconds after using
a tactical item now there's a wide
variety of different tactical items you
can use I'm a big fan of throwing either
Molotov cocktails or the fusion lighter
or snowball which are both tactical
items created from deviants and lastly
deviation Master which gives you a huge
50% boost to damage when fighting
alongside your deviant as far as the
damage rotation goes it's pretty
straightforward and only really becomes
difficult to do when there's a ton of
server lag especially during Prime Wars
start with throwing or dropping your
deviant then use a tactical item then
start shooting if you're a bot like me
you can always do them in whatever order
you want but know that the Deviant will
stay out longer than 15 seconds so
ideally you throw that out first to make
the most of the time you're buffed after
using a tactical item if the lag isn't
bad and you remember to you can even REO
Master tactician a second time while
your deviant is still out if you made it
here either if you've watched the video
all the way through and I'd like to
thank you for sticking it out or you've
skipped ahead just to get the details of
the build either way I'll use this
chance to ask that if you enjoy the
video or found it at all useful or
entertaining to please like it and
consider subscribing it's free and it
helps me push out more once human
content that being said I do firmly
believe that this Frost Vortex build is
currently the best all-around build in
the game I'm sure some shrapnel Mains
have already rushed to the comment
section to Flame me about how their
build does more damage but that's about
all it can do a little bit more single
Target damage the trade-off in using
something like frost Vortex is that you
sacrifice a small portion of your damage
to utilize both an area of effect and
damage over time effects that quite
frankly are even better themselves than
many builds out there while some builds
have to constantly Point click and shoot
constantly moving from Target to Target
this build clears entire waves of
enemies from Simply dealing damage to
one of them it can handle both single
targets and groups of enemies and
doesn't discriminate between them and on
top of that it's already powerful enough
at the initial part of a fight and only
continues to do more damage the longer
the fight prolongs this will 100% be my
main build moving forward through the
rest of season 1 and I can't wait to see
how much more powerful it gets as I
continue to get more fragments to level
the the armor up even higher that's
going to be it for today's video thanks
again for watching my guide on my Frost
Vortex build I've got two more builds in
the shoot to put out but I wanted to
perfect them a little bit more so expect
them in the next week or so just in time
to spend the last of your season 1
