I heard that there are a variety of
events have been taking place this year
celebrating the 114th anniversary of the
South Korea Germany partnership could
you briefly introduce us to those events
yeah actually there are many events
planned throughout the year additionally
we're also planning a meaningful
initiative to participate with 140
persons from the German Korean business
Community to support the visually
impaired people in a sports event also
worthwhile mentioning I think the German
cultural week in johnju city is coming
up in September so as you can see a lot
of things happening well there seem to
be various events so I'm wondering of
course about how they're going to be in
about many stories that you have to tell
me but it's not just fun talking about
them in a very easy way so I actually
prepare something very special
so I prepared two boars just first put
in complicated startup stories away
first we will talk about German culture
you know that German Football is also
quite famous right Bundesliga is one of
the top German professional football
league system and is one of the top
European football leagues from legendary
tabungun to zhongumin and even now Kim
minje is probably going to sign up with
Bayern Munich so what is your favorite
football club my favorite football team
from my hometown Hamburg is
unfortunately not very successful in the
recent years but it was very good at one
title throughout the time when
was in in Germany and the son used to
play for Hamburg too and at that time
they were still doing all right but
unfortunately in recent years their
performance has been rather
disappointing you like the one actually
I like Bayern win him okay well it's the
most successful team so that's okay I
guess
did you know the German people tend to
suffer like from homesickness because of
their missing German breath
yeah and relate to that yeah well to be
honest I I like to change it up but if I
had to choose one of them I would
probably be foil combo the one with lots
of seats that is not so spongy more
solid you guys you should try that
definitely you cannot say you try German
bread without trying for comfort
I can already pictures the subscribers
saying like of course you should keep
your word but it's actually not this
meaning but more the things that Korean
people say often like let's have a meal
together or let's meet up later some
more of a like courtesy in Korean
culture but for Germans it's about
really keeping a word right so it's not
just a courtesy for us right let's have
a meal together actually that happened
to me a friend of mine a Korean friend
of mine was asking let's have a meal
together and I said yeah sure when shall
we go then obviously he was a bit
surprised meals or deciding what to eat
I think that can be sometimes a bit of a
complicated difficult process in Korea
for instance when you sort of try to
guess what the other person would like
to eat rather than having the German
approach would be like I like to eat
this I'm not in the mood for that and
let's decide on what to eat quickly
that's obviously a bit different in
Korea
is
me to learn Korean when I when I've
tried to learn it especially pronouncing
for me is
so difficult and still difficult till
today and like the numbers some chips
are was hot on it we're so confusing I
know the German language is obviously
difficult as well but Korean was
actually really tough so how about you
what is the most difficult Korean word
for you oh there are so many but
actually the word difficult in Korean is
quite difficult
from now on we're going to talk about
the urban startup ecosystems which could
be a little bit complicated but I hope
you're going to explain it to us very
well
foreign
I heard that there are a number of
German unicorns is it true tell us about
a good example of German unicorns and
the numbers of them please most unicorns
in Germany are actually in the fintech
mobility and software sectors they're
about 30 unicorns in 2022 and 80 of them
are actually in Berlin and Munich the
number of German unicorns has almost
doubled since 2021 so 18 and 2021. for
example there is delivery hero which is
an online food delivery platform founded
in Berlin and it's one of the leading
players in the food delivery industry it
acquired Korean Brothers Corporation
back in 2020 so it retained they mean
brand in Korea which is allowing it to
benefit from the strong brand
recognition and customers loyalty of
uber brothers that has built over years
well it sounds amazing that 80 of 30
German unicorns are located in Berlin
and Munich let's move on to the next
question which startup sectors are
popular in Germany I'm curious about the
hottest startup investment sector okay
there is about 30 percent of the German
startups in the information and
communication Technologies followed by
food consumer goods about 11 Healthcare
which is 8.5 and finally Automotive
Mobility Logistics sectors which is
about seven percent the other startups
that spread across various other
Industries 46 of German startups are
actually somewhat related to renewable
energy and green tax that means that
these green startups are quite
successful due to the stronger focus on
sustainability and energy transition in
Germany thank you so much for your kind
explanation and we will move on to part
two
