at laana Trail um Steve Jervis at the
varsity level you said you see a lot of
fam familiar formations we're very lucky
Steve comes down here all the time with
his players has a lot of input on what
we do at the junior Lions level uh a few
years ago when I took over started
coaching here my son started playing
took over the presidency say youo let's
let's make this work so when they get to
the high school level they're prepar we
started running same formation same
terminology really installing it at the
at the it Team level and just building
upon it year after year so you know that
you know lucky to have them lucky to
have the school let us use this facility
so you can't thank them enough yeah I
mean to that point I mean look at some
of the successes that lacana trail has
had uh in in recent years here I mean
you guys as an organization uh an
obviously an awesome run here last year
from the junior program but more
importantly I mean I looked at I mean I
covered uh that uh that that State game
last year uh with the high school team
um a lot of success here for the lacana
trail area uh hats off to you guys here
uh but I also notice too you guys run a
pretty sweet Camp uh over the summer
here with a local uh you know higher
education facility Keystone College yeah
right down the street my uh my alma moer
where I graduated uh back in 2003 so um
there wasn't a football program then but
there is now tell us a little bit about
that yeah so again you know just it's a
great thing being part of this community
um from the high and then as you
mentioned Keystone College so coach
Justin Higgins and his staff they're
great to us you know he has his some
plays on our B Team um and we're
fortunate enough that during the season
once a week he comes out his players
come out and they work with our players
working on tackling working on the
proper way to tackle and they run them
through a circuit every every Wednesday
um they're up here about half an hour 45
minutes working with the youth kids and
really you know teaching them the
correct way to play football and and we
can't thank Justin his staff enough and
and just giving up his valuable time to
you know help these the youth program
here that's awesome that is so cool to
see uh we get a lot of alignment there
with the junior cougars from our Varsity
program but to see it from a college
level too and getting that that buy in
from the community is always awesome to
see uh Sports wire obviously notices
that and that's something uh we we take
our hats off to folks to get involved in
in those types of things but uh another
thing I noticed too you guys uh used to
be part of a wami Valley Conference
you've recently transitioned to uh the
accjfl tell us a little bit about that
warm welcoming and and uh you know how
uh how teams have kind of received the
the lack of want Trail uh junior Lions
tell us a little bit about that uh uh
again when I took over the presidency we
were in the the Wyoming Valley league
and um you know they were great to us
you know they brought us in when our
original League folded um when I took
over I was like you know does it make
sense for us to be playing those teams
when once we get high SCH we're playing
Dunmore Old Forge lakelands th those
types of schools so I reached out to Joe
tallarico the president and let him know
that you know we're interested in coming
to that league and really being a part
of that great organization um and they
were welcoming you know they were great
they brought us into a few of their
meetings um we talked a lot a little bit
about what we're about um how we can
benefit that and how they can benefit us
and you know and it's been it's been a
great transition you know I can't thank
them enough for for bringing us in with
open arms um we look forward to contined
success in the future with them awesome
hey appreciate the interview appreciate
the time and Hospitality here tonight uh
