update video on using the gas importer
for blender
this will be the gas importer version
1.4 and we will be importing a model
into blender 2.8 and I just want to kind
of consolidate some of lessons learned I
had in previous video so we can go
through the basic steps of installing
jazz importer add-ons in the studio you
can version 4.1 one I believe and also
installing the plug-in to blender 3d as
well let's go ahead and get started
you can get all the instructions and

created by Thomas Larson and if you have
any issues I believe there is a bit
bucket site you can go to so I'm just
going to right click on this development

you can also get the development version
of the plug-in so you would just
download that repository but there's
also a button here or a link here for
issues
so yet issue you can create a new issue
here they gotta make an account and then
put here and that's probably the best
way to get responses to issues and bugs
with the plugin
then anyways you can get the mm need or
two zip files first part II is the gas

let's go to your downloads directory
what you would do is go to the blender
you go to edit
preferences
and you would install from zip you look
for your file with my downloads
and it will be something along the lines
of

anyways my default is to always autosave
premises so you don't do that make sure
you go ahead and hit save
preferences
and you've hit the end key
the properties you will see a new tab
for - runtime click on that and the
first thing we're going to do right now
is just go to settings and click on -
path to Dad's library and what you want
are the make sure you have the right
pass for your your content
- studio because basically what you
doing the import is this making
represents a pointers to your actually
get your dad's library content so you're
going to need at least these three on
this last one for your IRA shaders and

I want to save that character just like
I would anything else in dad studio my
first time working with it so I will hit
go on my characters directory
call it and we'll call this one wedding
phile doesn't take long then the next
step I need to do is go to file
usually opposite you'll be hitting the
export basic data button that is did it
a second time and call it a something
different something like this export
JSON data
now very important you want to co-locate
those two files to save it in the same
directory you want to call it the same
thing so I'm gonna call it wedding as
well usually when you start typing
Stephan name of a file that you did for
just you're in the same directory with

that you call it the right thing

shouldn't need a studio anymore so I'm

let's go to blender
we want to start off here by deleting
the default cube
go back to be dad run time
it's import dad's file go to the
location of my character
you can click on either button the
aurita icon the duck file itself or the
teen huge space to connect thumbnail
picture it will import it all the same
just like that going down here briefly
to the import settings you can change
the scale or the character when you
import it
forget the default might be a default
one but for the singer hour I was doing
I mean the scale of point zero one and
so that's my default i from mesh fitting
i usually leave it at JSON file have no
reason to change it skin color and close
color is basically the shading that's
coming to you the character when you're
in solid be this is not the color that
you're closing render to you to just
reference color for when you're in
working a solid
so that means I'm only hit import day as

again that the reference colors are
disappointing according to what type of
mesh it is

while for the shaders to compile and

adjust that later and the hand color is

material that I applied in dad studio
usually doesn't I don't have a problem
with the
hair color - that's a weird incident
anyway going back to solid view I will
you can see that when you import a new
character using the importer it creates
its own collection so that's very good
for organizations sake but you'll also
notice that each material clothing or
each material object has its own
armature so let's say
I picked the selected slippers
it has its own armature to highlight it
and never hit G it will move separately
however if I move the character notices
to female
some of the clothing does not follow it
that's because if they are not parented
to the body's mesh there's a way we can
do that nests in the first tab right
here the first menu call Corrections
so you open up or check co-op
Corrections you have a couple things you
can do here you can merge toes if you
don't plan on moving individual toes you
can merge them into one
what doubt how you don't bother about do
it for this sake of this tutorial
you see both phones are now gone from
their mesh from the armature

facial bones for all the more so shaky

went ahead and merged into one but dig

objects that

body image and one more time and hit
merge rigs so you do each one one at a
time or you do down
all at once

so that's enough for corrections
materials you can change the color of
the shading in solid view that's all
that's about
you can do different things with you
these and I won't get into that you save
the textures after you edit edit it down

update more apps show you what's
available if and these buttons will
actually load those into the character

options needs to be actually at the
import menu you select the ear file

are the basics of the Gaz importer let's
go ahead and take another look at the
materials I'll make sure that they came
out correctly as far especially with
things using the alpha transparency so

I'm not the eyes use alpha transparency
like a u2 and the eyelashes in the hair
and they all do you again not really
happy about the hair color but it's
probably something I chose in the studio
also this had a lot of alpha
transparency in it this glove material

and go to the pose mode

mass rating issues that might be more
with my actual character than the
importer as a whole so again don't put
too much weight into that
