ever wonder how your favorite
celebrities maintain their enviable glow
and vitality we get ready to uncover the
mystery because we are going to peel
back the curtain on Hollywood's Best
Kept Wellness secrets in this video I
going to be digging into The Insider
tips and tricks that keep a-listers
looking and feeling their absolute best
and the best part is that you don't have
to have the bankroll or the Entourage of
a Hollywood Elite player to make the
most of these secrets and to bring them
into your life because after pouring
through tons of interviews I've
distilled and isolated the most
effective habits and secrets that
absolutely anyone can incorporate into
their daily life now if you have watched
me here on YouTube before then welcome
back but if you are new to my channel
then welcome I'm Dr Kim Foster and I'm
an MD turned coach and wellness expert
so let's get started the first secret
when it comes to optimizing your health
and well-being is what I like to call
the GPS method okay okay so what is this
well when I say GPS I'm talking about
the navigation system in your car that
helps you to find your way to your
destination so let's say that you're
driving and your GPS is giving you
directions and you're somewhere that you
haven't been before so in spite of the
super clear instructions you miss the
left turn that you were supposed to take
now your GPS doesn't just shut down and
abandon you it doesn't say never mind
you clearly didn't want to go to your
destination after all it recalculates it
finds the next best way to get you there
and gives you new directions you're now
going to take a slightly different route
and it might take a few extra minutes to
get there but you're going to get there
in the end and this is something that I
find celebrities tend to do really well
when it comes to their Fitness and their
health that so many of us do not do so
here's one example this is El mcferson
talking about when she turned 50 when I
turned 50 I wasn't feeling very well and
I actually wasn't looking very well
should Cravings D poor digestion poor
sleep and I went to my nutritionist and
I just said listen I something's wrong
what I used to do doesn't work anymore
so she looked and she said you know
you're taking a lot of synthetic
vitamins we need to put you on a very uh
powerful multivitamin mineral uh
probiotic Prebiotic uh powder which I
started to take because I realized that
the vitamins that that I was taking were
synthetic and they my body wasn't
recognizing them or absorbing them so I
was kind of malnourished I wasn't
sleeping very much and I I wasn't eating
enough plants you know fruit and
vegetables and drinking lots of coffee
and I started on this program and within
a month I noticed such a change what I
find a lot of women do when they hit 50
is say oh well I guess this is what my
body is like now and oh man aging sucks
and of course other women in their lives
commiserate and say welcome to menopause
and other mantras that although it
sounds like we're being supportive the
problem is it also lowers our
expectations for ourselves and to be
honest can prevent us from looking for
Solutions this is the equivalent of your
GPS just shutting down when you turn
into the deserted Lane rather than the
road that you were supposed to turn into
and just saying I guess you live here
now in this Lane you're not going
anywhere notice how L sought out a
solution she said what I used to do
doesn't work anymore that's a huge
difference in mindset she believed there
were Solutions she went looking for the
solutions she sought out an expert she
tried new things until she found what
would work for her new body and her new
situation in the journey towards Better
Health it's inevitable to encounter
obstacles along the way whether it's a
hectic work schedule unexpected setbacks
or self-doubt challenges can often
derail even the most well-intentioned
efforts however rather than dwelling on
the problem successful people focus
their energy on finding Solutions and
not just giving up and saying oh well I
guess this is how it is now okay let's
move on to secret number two and that is
to make Health a priority but with a
relaxed approach because that is what's
going to be sustainable I call this the
tortoise Technique we all know the story
of The Tortoise and the hair tortoise is
not a perfect specimen to win a race a
hair is of course much faster but the
hair sprinted and stopped and rested and
didn't maintain a pace and in the end
the tortoise won because of the slow
steady progress one of of the most
common misconceptions about leading a
healthy lifestyle is that it requires a
strict adherence to rigid rules and
routines however many celebrities have
discovered that the key to success lies
in finding a balance between dedication
and flexibility so first it's not about
denying yourself all the foods that you
love in fact many celebrities are quite
vocal about how much they love food I
love food I can't help it like I live
for food I wake up for food my breakf
breast lunch dinner is all about food I
have breakfast talking about lunch I
have lunch talking about dinner like
it's important to me when I go to a new
city to find the best places to eat like
that's my jam do you hear how Priyanka
says this with pride she's not
sheepishly admitting it she's proud of
this quality this is a good thing the
secret here is that achieving and
maintaining health does not have to
involve strict diets or elaborate meal
plans in fact one of the most liberating
realizations on the journey to Wellness
is that you can nourish your body and
Thrive without adhering to rigid rules
instead of feeling constrained by
dietary restrictions or overwhelmed by
the latest health Trends embracing
flexibility and creativity in the
kitchen and in your life can lead to
more sustainable and more enjoyable
approach to living well and eating well
it's like you open your fridge and find
maybe a mish mash of ingredients maybe a
handful of veggies some leftover grains
and a few eggs rather than Fring over
what's missing or feel compelled to
follow follow a complicated recipe you
can simply work with what you have on
hand improvising and experimenting to
create a delicious and nutritious meal
here's what milakunis had to say for
example when I make my own avocado toast
I like to make sure to grab bread that I
have so whatever I have is what we're
using and a lot of times um it's
something healthy because again I have
children and so you try to do as much as
you can more times than not I'm running
late so I don't have time to toast it
but let's go with the theory that I have
magic time I toast it um I then grab my
avocado I cut it scoop it I'll smash it
and then sometimes I like to put a
little everything but the bagel
seasoning on top of it and then if I'm
feeling extra feisty I might put an egg
on it she just works with what she has
she mentions that she generally has
healthy things on hand and in the fridge
so that helps for sure but is she being
dogmatic about having to follow an exact
recipe no similarly when it comes to
fitting healthy habits into a busy
schedule flexibility is the key while
yes it would be ideal to have all kinds
of time for meal prep and lengthy
workouts the reality is that life often
throws curved balls that disrupt even
the best laid plans instead of
succumbing to stress or guilt embracing
the Mantra of doing what you can when
you can can be incredibly empowering as
long as you are making healthy choices
most of the time you are going to be
winning in the long run run just like
Hillary Duff says here I try to just do
the same thing with my diet which is
like 7030 if I can be great 70% of the
time and then live my life or be a
little wild with a product 30% of the
time I I think that's a good balance
she's giving herself permission to do
the right thing most of the time which
keeps her from beating herself up and
importantly keeps her in the game for
the long run what so many of the rest of
us do is get really rigid about things
if we don't have the exact right
ingredients or we don't have all the
right equipment then we say forget it or
if we have a single snack that doesn't
exactly fit into our goals like maybe we
have a cookie one time and then we feel
like we blew it and the whole day is
shot so we might as well just eat all
the cookies now when you let go of the
notion that Health requires Perfection
or adherence to a strict regimen you
open yourself up to a world of
possibilities where Wellness is
synonymous with flexibility and
creativity and balance the path to
health is not a straight line but a
journey that's filled with twists and
turns and unexpected detours and that's
perfectly okay okay so let's move on to
secret number three which is something
that I like to call the get it done
approach in today's fast-paced world
finding time for self-care can often
feel like a luxury reserved for the
privileged few however celebrities with
demanding schedules know that
incorporating supportive rituals into
their daily routines without being
precious about it is the key to
maintaining balance and wellbeing I need
a little cream sometimes I get really
into the whole routine of it and I just
really enjoy taking care of myself but
pretty much I'm getting it done as
quickly as possible any kind of skin
care any kind of self-care it's like it
just has to happen cuz you can't get
fancy about it sometimes you just need
to get ready or go to bed you always
have to do sunscreen doesn't matter I'm
sorry but you you must see how Jennifer
says it just has to happen it's a
non-negotiable for her it has to happen
and so it does would she prefer to have
a leisurely routine in her bathroom it
sounds like she might but she's got kids
and she's got a busy schedule and not
taking care of herself isn't an option
so she just gets it done with what she's
got to work with in contrast what many
of us do is adopt an All or Nothing
mindset we tell ourselves that if we
can't fit in a full-blown 60-minute
workout then what's the point We
complain that we don't have the time to
cook healthy food or get to the gym or
practice our 12ep morning routine so we
just skip the whole thing we let
ourselves off the hook saying that we're
too busy and that is why we're ordering
takeout so often and neglecting
self-care and blowing off any type of
exercise and it's that opting out piece
that's different from what I see
celebrities do they're busy and racing
around too but they're not using that as
a reason to opt out it's a
non-negotiable mostly because it's their
job to take care of themselves but when
you think about it isn't taking care of
yourself your number one job too how how
effective are you going to be in your
various roles in life if you're not
taking care of yourself just get it done
can you squeeze in one supportive Act of
self-care into your morning rather than
the 12-step morning routine can you
batch prep a few ingredients on the
weekend so that week nights are just a
matter of just throwing some healthy
ingredients together it's not going to
be Pinterest worthy but it'll be better
than takeout maybe the gym doesn't fit
into your schedule but what about taking
the stairs and instead of the elevator
or parking a few blocks away and walking
the rest of the way instead of scrolling
through Instagram while you wait for
your coffee to brew in the morning how
about just lifting a set of dumbbells
and get in a few reps there are so many
ways to build in bite-sized Health
rituals throughout the day but it starts
with the right mindset commit to it
being a non-negotiable and then adopt
the get it done approach okay so
speaking of self-care if you need some
ideas for the kinds of self-care
activities that you could fit into your
day then you are going to want to
download my self-care checklist it's
completely free just go ahead and follow
the link in the description so now I
would love to hear from you which one of
these three Secrets was your favorite
which one are you going to start
adopting today and also if you enjoyed
this video I think that you are going to
love this one next that I'm going to
link on the screen where I tell you
exactly why willpower does not work and
what you should do instead I'll see you
