Transcripts

play00:00

right so i have just spent a whole week

play00:02

with this tesla model s here

play00:05

all right and now there's two big

play00:07

factors with this video one

play00:09

my name is calvin and i am an absolutely

play00:12

massive petrol head right that's factor

play00:14

number one obviously this is an electric

play00:15

car yeah factor number two is this

play00:17

particular car is a high mileage tesla

play00:20

this is the cheapest tesla on the net um

play00:22

and it's the first tesla model s that

play00:25

they ever made all right so seven days

play00:27

with a high mileage cheap model s tesla

play00:31

with a petrol

play00:33

let's get on the video

play00:37

[Music]

play00:59

here it is then guys it's an 85 kilowatt

play01:02

tesla model s it's a 2014 car which was

play01:05

actually the first of the tesla model

play01:08

right the first mass produced tesla

play01:10

going and the things i was skeptical of

play01:12

when this car came in a week ago is well

play01:15

it is the entry-level car it's uh like i

play01:17

said it's old technology it is high

play01:20

mileage like i was thinking how good is

play01:22

this battery going to be is it going to

play01:23

last very long is the motor going to be

play01:25

okay what's the wear and tear going to

play01:27

be like on the car is it going to be

play01:29

well worn it's done 138 000 miles by the

play01:32

way which you know these things ain't

play01:34

been around for long enough to for us to

play01:36

know how good they are with this kind of

play01:38

mileage and a lot of things like how

play01:41

well was i going to get on with the

play01:42

technology inside the car is that going

play01:44

to be dated like i've heard they've

play01:45

updated a lot of this stuff over the

play01:47

years and all these things i was very

play01:49

very i wouldn't say as concerned about

play01:51

but i was very curious to know how good

play01:53

or bad this was going to be and

play01:55

obviously like i said earlier i am a

play01:56

massive petrol head there's no doubt

play01:58

about it i love petrol engine cars i'm

play02:00

happy to settle for like a diesel every

play02:02

now and then i've got a 330d there just

play02:03

come in happily sort of maybe venture to

play02:06

the diesel world but i've never ever

play02:08

ventured into the electric world so for

play02:10

me this was an exciting experience uh

play02:12

but also an experience that i don't know

play02:15

i'm not ready for this transition yet

play02:16

and it's not something that i'm

play02:18

i'm not too on side of it i'll be honest

play02:20

with you so yeah when i first got the

play02:22

car it came in with about 150 miles left

play02:24

on the range on the battery i do about

play02:26

200 miles a week so there was going to

play02:28

be a time during that week that i would

play02:30

need to charge the car now the first

play02:32

thing i had to do the first hurdler to

play02:34

get over i was unlocking the car right

play02:36

so you've got this quite a fancy little

play02:37

key with like invisible buttons is that

play02:40

focusing that's focusing yeah you can't

play02:42

see the buttons guys because it they're

play02:43

invisible yeah so um i've walked up to

play02:46

the car and i'm looking at the key and

play02:47

i'm waiting for it to unlock it's got

play02:49

these like fancy flush door handles

play02:51

they're quite smart and they um but i'm

play02:52

waiting for the car to unlock it's not

play02:54

unlocking i'm thinking how am i going to

play02:56

unlock this car and i discovered that

play02:58

these in this thing here does actually

play03:00

have buttons right so if you look up

play03:02

close that little t button

play03:04

at the front there if you press that

play03:06

press that twice and then i revealed how

play03:09

to open the bonnet but obviously this is

play03:10

an electric car guys most bonnets have

play03:12

engines under the bonnets but this car

play03:14

just has like a storage space which is

play03:15

absolutely brilliant like that is a plus

play03:18

over your usual car lot of bmw in the

play03:20

background there obviously you have no

play03:21

storage space under the bonnet now i

play03:23

continued clicking around this key and

play03:26

press that one there and hey presto the

play03:28

boot opens yeah so i knew i was getting

play03:31

there slowly right we've got a big boot

play03:33

as well guys

play03:34

those are like practicality i do

play03:37

personally but then after some googling

play03:38

around like genuinely i was googling it

play03:41

youtubing how to unlock my tesla there

play03:43

wasn't any other idiots out there like

play03:45

me that had the same problem i then just

play03:47

sort of continued clicking around and

play03:48

then double clicked this button on the

play03:50

roof there we go

play03:52

and then

play03:55

and there you go guys the handles come

play03:57

out and you can open the car and the

play03:59

wear on this car isn't bad at all right

play04:02

because one of my my things my concerns

play04:04

were is it gonna be really worn you can

play04:05

see on the edge of the door card here

play04:07

that door card or the pillar because

play04:09

you're having to brush past that every

play04:11

time you go in and out there is a bit of

play04:12

wear on the side there but because

play04:14

that's taking all the grunt of the wear

play04:15

the bolster of seat doesn't at all so

play04:17

there is nowhere on the bolster at all

play04:19

the steering wheel there is no wear on

play04:21

that steering wheel but the door handles

play04:22

they're all quite smart and very posh in

play04:24

here very nicely laid out again it's all

play04:27

there is there is nowhere there is

play04:29

literally nowhere on the inside of this

play04:30

car it's had one owner from you um and

play04:33

it is out of warranty now guys that's

play04:35

something really worth talking about we

play04:36

will continue talking about that shortly

play04:38

all right so my son koi absolutely loves

play04:41

tesla's by the way and one of the things

play04:42

i was massively excited about was

play04:44

picking him up from school in it and his

play04:46

reaction when i picked him up was

play04:48

priceless

play04:49

how did you like the tesla

play04:51

yeah what's actually your favorite car

play04:53

is hezbollah your favorite car is it

play04:55

is it really

play04:56

you love tesla's this is the first time

play04:58

you've ever been in one in it

play05:00

yeah the tesla power yeah yeah ready

play05:04

three two one

play05:05

oh my god let's go for a drive we're

play05:08

also going to do draggy times on this

play05:10

car it weighs 2 100 kilos it's got 380

play05:13

horsepower and we're going to do 20 to

play05:15

70 miles now 20 to 70 mile draggy time

play05:17

to see how it compares against all of

play05:18

the petrol cars on my draggy leaderboard

play05:20

all right let's hit the roads i'll talk

play05:22

to you about how i feel about driving it

play05:24

so one other thing i was really

play05:26

concerned about was i suffered with

play05:28

travel sickness i didn't tell you that

play05:29

guys i suffered with travel sickness

play05:31

tesla's give me horrible travel sickness

play05:34

because they have regenerative braking

play05:35

so when you let off the throttle pedal

play05:37

it just automatically breaks

play05:39

um

play05:39

yeah as a passenger it is not a nice

play05:42

place to be at all so one of my biggest

play05:44

concerns was as a driver was i going to

play05:46

send travel sickness or not all right so

play05:49

we'll get on the roads still loads more

play05:50

to talk about i still need to show some

play05:52

clips from the week that i've had and um

play05:55

yeah we'll conclude how i feel about

play05:57

this car all right let's hit the road

play06:02

[Music]

play06:06

jump in here right so a van pulls up

play06:08

just as i jump in and film on the

play06:10

interior he's now gonna want directions

play06:12

of where to go or where should he drop

play06:14

his parcel so what i'm gonna do is

play06:16

quickly deal with him first oh it's

play06:17

controlled custom steering wheel that's

play06:19

perfect that must be the steering wheel

play06:20

for the golf gti that got one boy uh

play06:23

who's gonna get one bike of course it

play06:25

was it was nikki from scent leonard's on

play06:28

c is that right

play06:29

yes and leonard's on c so the tesla

play06:31

that's what you're here for the interior

play06:32

of this car it's actually quite a nice

play06:34

place to be uh you've got a digi dash in

play06:36

front of a digital dash it's like an lcd

play06:38

led whatever display it does everything

play06:40

as it should uh this uh infotainment

play06:42

system like this big ipad in front of

play06:44

you here it um

play06:46

is bloody brilliant and a lot of people

play06:47

said like i said earlier that this is

play06:50

supposedly quite slow it's not very um

play06:54

doesn't respond as you'd want it to i

play06:57

completely disagree with all of that

play06:58

because it's actually really really good

play07:01

let me just turn the heater fan down

play07:03

uh which i don't actually know how to do

play07:06

it is a very peaceful car as well by the

play07:08

way guys uh because it's electric

play07:10

remember it's electric yeah

play07:12

uh yeah so this uh this is all very very

play07:14

good right i've not fully got the gist

play07:16

of it yet i've not got my head around it

play07:18

fully but i i'm getting there with it

play07:21

and personally i absolutely rate it guys

play07:24

it's brilliant all right so i need to

play07:26

tell you about the headache i had charge

play07:27

in this car midway through the week what

play07:30

we'll do now is we'll get on the roads

play07:31

talk about how it drives talk about

play07:33

travel sickness and then we'll talk

play07:35

about the charging thing yeah seat belt

play07:37

on put it in drive guys

play07:39

no noise at all

play07:41

nice light power steering with this big

play07:43

chunky

play07:44

ugly steering wheel i'm gonna put that

play07:45

out there uh looks like it's been stolen

play07:47

off of a

play07:49

maserati ghibli maybe

play07:51

which surprisingly isn't a very high

play07:53

quality car in my opinion and that's

play07:55

something that i was very skeptical

play07:57

about is the quality of this car

play08:00

generally american car brands

play08:02

just putting out there they don't they

play08:04

don't have the finish that

play08:06

say german brands do yeah and this car

play08:09

definitely definitely doesn't

play08:11

we'll talk about if that bothers me or

play08:13

not when we get on the road all right

play08:15

let's go here we go indicators on and

play08:17

pull out slowly in

play08:20

super silent tesla indicate a stalk by

play08:22

the way out of the mercedes-benz and the

play08:25

gear selector stalk there is also from a

play08:27

mercedes-benz along with the electric

play08:30

window buttons again

play08:32

from a mercedes all right so like i said

play08:35

earlier the regenerative braking takes a

play08:37

bit of getting used to it's a bit of a

play08:38

strange experience but it's surprisingly

play08:40

natural like it doesn't feel

play08:42

too weird at all so when you let off

play08:43

your foot off your brake the car just

play08:45

supplies a bit of braking power probably

play08:47

putting power into the battery i don't

play08:49

fully know how it will work uh but there

play08:50

is a little uh

play08:54

a dial on the dash there just indicating

play08:56

whether you're using power or

play08:58

regenerating power right when you let

play09:00

your foot off it begins to regen okay

play09:04

that there is the prime suspect that

play09:06

makes me feel sick when i'm sat in a

play09:08

passenger seat for tesla now if i sit in

play09:10

the rear of any car in the back seat of

play09:12

any car i get bad travel sick just

play09:14

travel sickness if i sit in the

play09:16

passenger seat i don't get it quite as

play09:17

bad this is like on a normal car but i

play09:20

do get it over a period of time if i sit

play09:22

in a driver's seat for normal car i'm

play09:23

fine i can drive forever and not

play09:25

experience travel sickness okay in a

play09:27

tesla i can't sit in the passenger seat

play09:29

or the rear seat whatsoever

play09:31

because it just makes me feel so ill

play09:34

it's like the cars constantly see-sawing

play09:36

it's like i don't know it's supposed to

play09:38

like being in a car with a bad driver

play09:39

it's really really

play09:41

it's just not a nice experience but then

play09:43

the big question is as a driver of a

play09:44

tesla am i getting travel sickness and

play09:46

the answer to that is no i am not and

play09:49

this is something that i was really

play09:50

concerned about i always thought i could

play09:52

never have a tesla because it just makes

play09:54

me feel it's going to make me feel rough

play09:56

right but i can honestly say that i have

play09:58

not experienced one bit of travel

play10:00

sickness and i'm making a big point of

play10:02

this guys because to me this was massive

play10:04

like if anyone out there subs suffers

play10:06

with travel sickness or has been in a

play10:08

tesla and experienced travel sickness

play10:10

don't worry if you're going to drive one

play10:11

i think you'd be fine driving one all

play10:13

right

play10:14

possibly in my experience i am now let's

play10:17

talk about the midweek charging

play10:19

challenge that i had right so i was

play10:21

driving the car and it showed 150 miles

play10:24

left on the range but i noticed the

play10:26

range was going down quicker than my the

play10:28

mileage i was doing was meaning uh it

play10:30

wasn't too accurate now it is cold at

play10:32

the minute it's been about five degrees

play10:34

ish as an average temperature i would

play10:36

say throughout the week which does go

play10:37

against batteries right we all know

play10:39

batteries don't form as well in the cold

play10:41

granted i'll give it that it's fair

play10:43

enough right so i did notice it going

play10:45

down uh quite quickly and i was getting

play10:47

a bit concerned i was thinking i need to

play10:49

charge this car didn't matter because

play10:50

i've got a charging point at bingo right

play10:52

i've got a little power lead i thought

play10:54

i'd just pull up one day and charge it

play10:56

and

play10:57

that didn't go to plan over

play11:00

unable to charge charge station not

play11:03

powered see it didn't really matter

play11:05

because i had about 50 miles left in the

play11:06

range so i thought i don't know what

play11:08

i'll do i'll just drive it home and then

play11:09

i sort out tomorrow morning probably the

play11:12

worst thing i could have done because

play11:13

the next day was a friday right and

play11:16

friday is hashtag free friday i had the

play11:19

live draw for planet dreams i did not

play11:20

have time to mess around charging my

play11:22

tesla but i had to make time because i

play11:25

had about 20 miles left in the range

play11:27

right here i am look i'm currently in

play11:29

dunstable and i've got 41 miles left on

play11:33

the range in the tesla right tesla um

play11:36

and my nearest charging point according

play11:38

to the map up here is six miles away at

play11:41

luton airport right i am not going to

play11:43

luton airport i'm going down to

play11:45

bletchley which is just about here in

play11:47

the middle of keynes that's where bingo

play11:48

is so i'm heading i just got quickly go

play11:50

somewhere in dunstable and then go to

play11:52

bletchley right that's about 15 miles

play11:54

away okay um so by the time i get there

play11:57

and i'm in a massive rush today by the

play11:58

way because it is hashtag free friday

play12:01

i've got a lot to do needs to give away

play12:02

a car and i have not got time to stop

play12:05

and charge this car anywhere right so i

play12:07

ain't got clue what i'm gonna do i might

play12:08

have to end up parking this car up

play12:10

because yeah this range is um you know i

play12:12

ain't got enough range to do any more

play12:14

journeys today so no idea at this point

play12:16

what i'm gonna do so i thought the best

play12:18

thing to do is maybe go to the local

play12:20

tescos i've done that and

play12:23

yeah this is it we are at tesco's now

play12:25

guys are they all full ah sorted look

play12:28

there's loads of charging points here

play12:29

and there is literally just one

play12:30

available so i'm gonna spin it in there

play12:33

now apparently to charge the car you

play12:35

gotta press this little power icon up

play12:37

here um

play12:39

open charge port

play12:41

because i have done a bit of learning

play12:42

and then in the mirror there you can see

play12:44

that the little charge ports just

play12:45

flicked out of the rear there now i have

play12:47

got the supercharging adapter here but

play12:50

i'm pretty sure that is only available

play12:51

at super charging uh power points right

play12:54

where i'm guessing this one here is not

play12:57

for supercharging we'll go find out yeah

play12:58

and there's actually two sockets

play13:01

are they sockets or two guns or whatever

play13:03

they're called oh there's that style oh

play13:04

my god you actually have to pay i

play13:06

thought this was i thought this stuff

play13:07

was free

play13:09

i have this adapter

play13:11

let's see i've got no idea what i'm

play13:13

doing let's have a look at that

play13:15

yeah so that there

play13:20

that goes in there

play13:22

like so yeah

play13:24

and then that

play13:26

looks like that fits in

play13:28

is nothing in there

play13:30

yeah it's the same didn't it yeah let's

play13:32

get that in there

play13:35

that's in we are getting there

play13:38

now what do i do

play13:41

and then press the start button on the

play13:42

charger

play13:46

oh no

play13:47

i'm guessing that means this has got an

play13:49

error has this got an error

play13:52

no idea what i'm doing at this point

play13:53

this definitely ain't working is it

play13:56

right should we download the app let's

play13:57

download the app and the reviews don't

play13:59

look very good today

play14:00

yeah oh hold on a minute does that mean

play14:02

this is just

play14:03

i didn't even see this sign there does

play14:05

that mean it's just for volkswagens

play14:07

no way this is a joke man right i think

play14:10

we have to go find somewhere else

play14:14

stupid thing

play14:15

give me that back

play14:16

stick that back in there so after i've

play14:19

done it tesco's i then went over to asda

play14:21

in milton keynes which is just around

play14:22

the corner but it's a big ass stuff

play14:24

surely they've got electric charging

play14:25

points and um yeah

play14:28

this happened oh here we go asda

play14:31

yes there must be some charging points

play14:32

here for tesla's i don't know the lights

play14:34

just went red yeah that i don't think

play14:35

they even had any there next door to

play14:37

asda there is an ikea of all places

play14:40

there's got to be charging points in

play14:42

ikea they're well up to date and they

play14:44

then i supported a car sign with a logo

play14:47

of a plug inside all right here we go

play14:48

there's a sign up there with an electric

play14:51

car charging point symbol so there must

play14:53

be some this way let's go find one there

play14:55

is my glory moment i have found the

play14:57

charger by this point i've got hardly

play14:59

any range left in the in the petrol tank

play15:02

you know the

play15:03

you know

play15:05

range thing and um i pulled up there's a

play15:08

space there oh yes right right here

play15:11

right here cal is it this way oh

play15:14

yes look

play15:16

honestly i have not got time for this

play15:18

this is a bloody mission battery level

play15:20

low yes i know my bloody battery levels

play15:22

low guys it's at 1109 now oh my god i've

play15:24

got to do a live live stream at 12

play15:27

o'clock yeah i can try for right let's

play15:30

go and do this yeah

play15:31

ccs yeah i've got the ccs there we go

play15:35

that's it

play15:36

i'll first select your output

play15:40

yes

play15:41

now connect

play15:44

that's it

play15:45

get you in there son you're connected

play15:47

yeah that's locked present cards

play15:50

that worked processing

play15:52

preparing to charge setting up

play15:54

communication to the car

play15:56

guys i think i've done it

play16:00

[Music]

play16:06

so what is it it's like two hours later

play16:08

nearly now and the tesla is apparently

play16:10

fully charged i had to get a lift

play16:13

back to binker before i left here uh

play16:15

because i thought there's no way am i

play16:16

standing around for two hours but if you

play16:18

look on the app it does say that it's 90

play16:21

charge which is like the recommended

play16:22

charging time and the thing that i'm

play16:24

most curious about is how much does it

play16:26

actually cost because i didn't sound

play16:28

stupid guys i thought this stuff was

play16:30

free but um i had to pay for it so let's

play16:33

see how much it is yeah so i still don't

play16:35

know how much i've paid to charge the

play16:37

car so showing 197 miles now left in the

play16:40

range but i've got no idea how much he's

play16:42

charged me it shows a pound on my

play16:43

statement but surely ain't just it ain't

play16:46

just charged me a pound that would be

play16:47

mega cheap right

play16:49

does show 39 pence per kilowatt

play16:53

on the machine there though so what if

play16:55

it tells me how many kilowatts i just

play16:57

just stole from that machine let's have

play16:59

a look no idea but i will try and tell

play17:01

you before the end of this video alright

play17:02

so yeah i did eventually find somewhere

play17:04

to park the car and i can conclude that

play17:06

it did only cost me one pound but i

play17:09

suppose the inconvenience factor

play17:12

did it outweigh

play17:13

yeah it was just so inconvenient i am

play17:15

such a busy person i haven't got time

play17:17

for farting around charging my car so

play17:20

that was kind of um it was just a it was

play17:23

a pallava it was a bloody pallava so

play17:26

but i did feel massively relieved when i

play17:28

eventually had a full fully charged

play17:31

tesla in my life all right i haven't

play17:33

talked about performance yet by the way

play17:35

it's proper quick let's do 20 70 mile an

play17:37

hour times now yeah i've got my draggy

play17:39

box here

play17:40

somewhere

play17:42

no i did wear here we go

play17:45

i think this car if it starts with a six

play17:47

that would be amazing if it done any

play17:49

quicker than that that would be

play17:50

incredible there's some serious

play17:52

competition in the fives and the sixes

play17:54

uh let's just

play17:56

head to the drill carriageway and get on

play17:57

here yeah ready three two one

play18:00

instant throttle response it just jumps

play18:03

off the line i would say it

play18:06

feels possibly less powerful there we go

play18:10

i would say it kind of feels like it

play18:11

yeah loses performance as you get up the

play18:13

rev range i'd say red range speed range

play18:16

um first run was 6.28 seconds so early

play18:20

60s that's pretty good i'll do a couple

play18:22

more and see if we can beat that all

play18:23

right three two one

play18:28

strange experience no gears just one

play18:31

single speed and off you go

play18:34

done

play18:36

i do miss gears you know that i really

play18:38

really miss gears and something else

play18:40

believe me that speed that time was

play18:41

almost identical 6.23 seconds now i

play18:44

remember doing the draggy times with

play18:46

ibby in the tesla model 3 performance

play18:49

and uh yeah we just set ten we seem to

play18:52

do consistent draggy time so i can't

play18:54

imagine we're gonna beat that six point

play18:55

two three seconds that ain't bad at all

play18:57

let's have a quick look at the dragon

play18:58

leaderboard sienna compares to some of

play19:00

the other cars blimey porsche boxster s

play19:02

it's almost as quick as that which is

play19:04

quite impressive but the box press is a

play19:06

hundred horsepower left it's not ain't

play19:08

impressive at all really is it but this

play19:10

car isn't about performance it's a

play19:12

commuter and

play19:14

i'll conclude my uh feeling on that

play19:17

shortly now let's quickly talk about the

play19:19

warranty period in these cars so it's

play19:20

got a four year warranty as with most

play19:22

cars nowadays have sort of three to four

play19:24

years and that covers everything but the

play19:26

battery and uh motor have an eight year

play19:29

warranty with a limit of 150 000 miles

play19:31

whichever comes first right

play19:33

that's seriously impressive now this car

play19:35

is now out of warranty because of the

play19:37

age of it

play19:39

so you'd be thinking well that's a bit

play19:40

worrying so this is the battery and the

play19:42

motor at a time it's life now where it

play19:44

needs to replace it now replace it now

play19:46

luckily with this car both have been

play19:49

replaced under warranty prior to it

play19:51

exiting its warranty period so this

play19:53

particular car is a great example of an

play19:55

old tesla model but if i think if i was

play19:57

buying one uh of this age of this

play20:00

mileage i would be quite concerned or

play20:03

skeptical about buying one if it didn't

play20:05

have that work done because it's

play20:07

seemingly like or it's seeming like the

play20:10

the the lifespan of the battery is

play20:13

around that sort of time i don't know

play20:14

that for certain definitely do your

play20:16

research but uh this car because it has

play20:18

at it it would um

play20:20

it is

play20:22

what someone got behind me i'm guessing

play20:24

it'll be fine for a good few more years

play20:26

left yeah there we go

play20:28

we've just done a tesla today

play20:30

values that's something that we need to

play20:31

talk about so this car

play20:33

i think the book value the retail book

play20:35

value of this car is about 25 26 000

play20:37

pounds okay according to water trader

play20:39

now

play20:40

um that's probably a little bit low

play20:42

based on what's currently on the market

play20:44

i think the cheapest tesla models

play20:46

currently is about 28 000 pounds but in

play20:49

fairness that's done quite a lot less

play20:51

mileage this is well this is that the

play20:53

warranty works or i would make i would

play20:55

personally think that makes it more

play20:56

valuable really difficult to say but it

play20:59

is going to be going up for sale in that

play21:00

sort of region okay sort of between 26

play21:03

and 28 000 pounds now uh

play21:06

the experience that i've had driving

play21:08

this car

play21:09

honestly

play21:11

i've actually quite liked it but

play21:13

i personally got in this car the

play21:16

expected expectation that i wouldn't

play21:17

rate it i wouldn't enjoy it and i i

play21:20

couldn't see myself driving one and i

play21:22

still

play21:23

don't see myself driving one i don't

play21:25

feel like i want to go out and treat

play21:26

myself to a tesla or any kind of

play21:28

electric car not yet anyway

play21:30

but one thing i am so impressed with is

play21:32

the fact that i fully charge this car on

play21:34

a pound now the weight the rate at which

play21:37

the mileage went down the the monitor

play21:39

that the car showed i would say in

play21:41

actual terms i probably got about 60 or

play21:43

70 percent of the mileage

play21:45

in real life if that makes sense

play21:48

but then a petrol car does that as well

play21:50

so a petrol car a lot my m5 for example

play21:52

would say i've got 300 miles left in my

play21:54

range when i fill the tank but in fact

play21:56

it will only do 200 miles and that will

play21:58

cost me a hundred pound in petrol at

play22:01

this car here would probably do about

play22:03

150 miles on a full charge and

play22:06

it would cost me a pound if i charge it

play22:08

at uh ikea so one thing i would say is

play22:11

if you are driving a car every day and

play22:13

you are just commuting that's your

play22:15

purpose for having a car you're just

play22:16

commuting you're driving from a to b and

play22:18

you're currently driving say a bmw 320i

play22:22

petrol sc with no spec and you're

play22:24

putting petrol in it all the time

play22:26

i just i just don't see why you would do

play22:28

that i don't know why you anyone would

play22:30

do that is there any benefit to driving

play22:32

an average car and putting fuel in it

play22:34

all the time if you have no enjoyment

play22:36

from that car or you don't care about

play22:38

enjoying your car if you're just driving

play22:39

it to commute

play22:41

surely you need to get an electric car

play22:42

i've been thinking about my mum she

play22:43

don't care about cars she just wants to

play22:45

get in her car and drive it from a to b

play22:47

but she's putting petrol in every week

play22:48

she don't really need to do that but me

play22:50

as a petroleum because i enjoy driving i

play22:53

look forward to getting in my m5 and

play22:55

making a bit of noise having a bit of

play22:57

fun flicking through the gears and um

play22:59

experience experiencing the sound and

play23:01

the drama of a proper petrol engine for

play23:04

me it's worth every single penny i

play23:06

absolutely love driving a noisy petrol

play23:09

engine love it if you looked at

play23:11

performance now this car hasn't

play23:12

performed quite like

play23:14

i kind of expected it would i suppose it

play23:16

does feel quite quick but some of these

play23:18

electric cars do outperform most big

play23:21

petrol cars right and that's a bit

play23:23

embarrassing but then you always come

play23:24

back to

play23:26

is it all about performance is it really

play23:28

all about performance or do you just get

play23:30

a different sense of enjoyment as a

play23:32

petrol head when you're driving a petrol

play23:33

engine car and i think you definitely do

play23:36

this car has not given me any

play23:38

fulfillment any sense of enjoyment some

play23:40

of the time i'm just driving down the

play23:41

road and i'm just in my own world which

play23:43

i generally have anyway um and

play23:46

it's it's taking me home you know i'm

play23:48

just i'm

play23:49

i'm driving but i'm not connecting with

play23:51

the car i'm not enjoying the journey to

play23:53

and from work anymore i'm just commuting

play23:56

but it does do a very very good job of

play23:58

that i have just been filming the

play24:00

cinematics i've discovered an adapter in

play24:03

the boot a tesla adapter that might have

play24:05

helped me on my drama when charging this

play24:08

car that might have been the thing i

play24:09

needed to charge the car i don't know

play24:12

yet to conclude that but my overall

play24:14

experience with the tesla for this week

play24:16

has been it's actually been quite good

play24:19

which i don't know if i'm annoyed about

play24:20

it i don't know if i'm happy about it

play24:22

but for an entry-level electric car this

play24:24

thing has been absolutely brilliant it's

play24:27

been so good it's done as it should it's

play24:29

been charging really well like it's it's

play24:32

been it's been holding its power

play24:34
