Q & A
What historical timeline does the script describe regarding the construction and destruction of temples in ancient Israel?
-The script outlines a timeline from Moses receiving instructions for the Tabernacle around 1250 BC, through the construction of Solomon's Temple in 968 BC and its destruction by King Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC, to the rebuilding under Persian rule around 515 BC, and eventually to Herod's Temple which was built around 19 BC and its destruction in AD 70.
What is the significance of the golden lampstand mentioned in the script?
-The golden lampstand, or menorah, is described as being made of a single piece of beaten gold with seven branches, each holding an oil lamp. It symbolized the illumination of God's presence in the Tabernacle, and the lamps were to be kept burning continuously as a representation of the Israelites' continuous devotion to God.
What role did the table of showbread play in the Tabernacle as described in the script?
-The table of showbread held twelve loaves of bread, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. Placed in the Holy Place of the Tabernacle, it symbolized God's provision and continual presence. The priests, representing the tribes, ate the bread, symbolizing their communion with God.
How does the script explain the metaphorical significance of Christians being likened to a 'wick'?
-In the script, Christians are compared to a wick in a lamp. Just as a wick must be regularly trimmed to keep the lamp burning brightly, Christians must undergo spiritual 'trimming' or discipline to maintain a vibrant faith and allow the 'oil', symbolizing the Holy Spirit, to flow through them, enabling them to shine the light of Christ brightly.
What does Hebrews 12:5-11 mean in the context of the script?
-Hebrews 12:5-11 discusses the concept of divine chastening or discipline. The script interprets this as God's way of pruning Christians to foster spiritual growth and enable them to partake in His holiness, likening it to the necessary trimming of the wick for a lamp to burn efficiently and brightly.
How is Jesus' statement about the temple in John 2:19 interpreted in the script?
-Jesus' statement about destroying the temple and raising it in three days is interpreted in the script as referring to His body, which would be killed and resurrected. This statement was made in the context of what was known as Herod's Temple, linking the physical temple's destruction with the spiritual resurrection of Jesus as the true Temple.
What is the significance of the 'bread of the presence' as explained in the script?
-The 'bread of the presence' or showbread symbolizes God's continual provision and presence among the Israelites. It was kept on a gold-covered table in the Tabernacle and consisted of twelve loaves representing the twelve tribes of Israel, emphasizing the covenant relationship between God and His people.
What covenantal parallels does the script draw between the Old Testament and the New Testament?
-The script draws parallels between the old covenant made at Mount Sinai, where obedience to the law was emphasized, and the new covenant instituted by Jesus, which focuses on a personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit, internal transformation, and forgiveness of sins as outlined in Jeremiah 31:31-34.
How does the script explain the purpose of the Lord's Supper?
-The script explains the Lord's Supper as a commemoration of the new covenant established by Jesus' sacrifice. It serves as a reminder of Jesus' role as the 'bread of life,' sustaining spiritual life and signifying the believer's continual communion with Christ and remembrance of His sacrifice.
What message does the script convey about the role of discipline in Christian life?
-The script emphasizes that just as a wick needs to be trimmed for a lamp to burn brightly, Christians require spiritual discipline to remove impediments to their faith. This discipline, while often painful, is necessary for spiritual growth and enables believers to shine with the light of Christ in the world.

🙏 Opening Prayer and Biblical History Overview
The session begins with a prayer asking for guidance, forgiveness, and revelation from the Holy Spirit. After the prayer, the speaker introduces the biblical timeline, starting from Moses receiving instructions to build the Tabernacle around 1250 BC, through various significant periods like Solomon's Temple, Babylonian exile, and the Maccabean Revolt, up to the destruction of Herod's Temple in AD 70 by the Romans.
📜 Detailed Explanation of the Tabernacle's Construction and Significance
The narrative delves into the structure of the Tabernacle, explaining the materials used like linen, goat's hair, ram skin, and a special aquatic animal skin known as 'tahash'. The discussion emphasizes the sacredness of the Holy Place within the Tabernacle, detailing the furnishings like the golden lampstand, table of showbread, and the altar of incense. The speaker elaborates on the purpose of these elements and the roles of the priests in maintaining the sanctity and operation of the Tabernacle.
🕯️ Symbolism of the Golden Lampstand and Christian Responsibilities
This section explains the golden lampstand in the Tabernacle, made of beaten gold and designed to hold olive oil lamps that should burn continuously. The speaker draws a parallel to Christian life, emphasizing the need for continual spiritual renewal and vigilance, symbolized by the trimming of the wicks. This act is likened to Christian discipline and purification, as detailed in Hebrews 12, where chastening by God is seen as a form of spiritual nurturing.
🔥 Christian Chastening and Spiritual Growth
The speaker interprets the need for Christians to undergo chastening as a means to achieve spiritual purity and alignment with God's holiness. The analogy of the lampstand is extended to discuss the concept of believers being 'trimmed' like wicks, which allows the Holy Spirit to work more effectively through them. The importance of submission to God's discipline, even when it is painful, is highlighted as essential for growth and righteousness.
✨ The Showbread Table and Its Biblical Context
The focus shifts to the showbread table in the Tabernacle, explaining its setup with 12 loaves representing the 12 tribes of Israel. The speaker discusses the historical and spiritual significance of showbread as a symbol of God's provision and covenant with Israel. The narrative connects this Old Testament practice with the New Testament concept of communion, emphasizing the showbread as a precursor to the Eucharist, which commemorates Jesus's sacrifice and the new covenant.
📜 New Covenant and Its Transformational Promise
The speaker discusses the shift from the Old Covenant of law and strict adherence to rituals, to the New Covenant of grace and personal relationship with God as revealed through Jesus Christ. Key aspects of the New Covenant are outlined, including God's law written on hearts, direct knowledge of God through the Holy Spirit, and the forgiveness of sins. This new relationship with God underpins the believer's identity and conduct in the world.
🕊️ Embracing the New Covenant in Daily Life
The final section explores practical implications of the New Covenant for believers, urging them to live out their faith authentically and submit to God's will in all areas of life. The speaker calls for personal submission to the Holy Spirit's guidance and correction, reflecting Jesus's own example of obedience and humility. The session closes by inviting feedback and reflection on the teachings, emphasizing the transformative power of living in accordance with God's new covenant.

ask you for your love for your grace mercy forgive us and Lord we pray that you may
help us to understand your word better for your glory in Jesus name we pray amen amen
all right um let me share my
screen okay so last week we
um last week we saw about the very timeline of you know from the time time of uh Moses
receiving the Tabernacle to the time of Jesus coming and to the time of Herod
destroying the the entire Temple so we saw that you know and it was around 1250 BC that
Moses receives instruction for building the Tabernacle and and then you know it was there
was in Solomon's Temple came around 968 BC uh before that David captures Jerusalem in,
BC then the Israel was divided in 930 BC and King Nebuchadnezzar he destroys the temple of
Solomon around 586 BC and this is the time of the prophets Isaiah Jeremiah Ezekiel and the
people go to the Babylonian exile and then it was the Persian rule the Persians they
defeated the Babylonians and um they came back and under these under the guidance of jeruel it was
the temple was reconstructed around 5:15 this was known as a second temple period and um and then we
see that you know Persians were also defeated by the Greeks but Greeks after the death of Alexander
I think the Greek rule was divided um uh and then the helenistic toic rule came into existence and
they I told you about last week we saw about how this um Syrian cusd rulers they placed you know
uh they sacrificed the pigs inside the temple inside the second temple and which um caused a
major revolt and that Revolt is known as the caban Revolt um and and this mavian Revolt God was with
the people and you know they they uh they defeated this Syrian sald rulers and they they brought back
the worship and for almost like uh I think 183 years the the maccabian the maab rule red till
the Romans came and they took over the entire land and pomi conquers Jerusalem in 63 BC and
then it was under the Roman rule that you know Jesus Christ was born and um his death was around
ad33 and then Jesus as he prophesied you know the temple that is you know during this time
of Jesus uh just before that Herod had built the temple for the the Jewish people just to
please them uh just to make you know peace with them and the Romans so they buil the temple and
this was known as the herod's temple actually zeru Babel's Temple was actually dismantled completely
and it was replaced by huge uh herod's Temple around 19 BC it was um I think it was constructed
and during the time of Jesus Jesus when he spoke about I will destroy this Temple and in 3 days
I will build it so Jesus was talking about this herod's Temple and Jesus also prophesied that you
know none of the bricks will be one none of the bricks will be on the other that exactly fulfilled
when um you know the Romans decided that enough of this arrogance from the Jewish people enough of
this um you know Rebellion from these people and what they did was they completely destroyed under
the under the um the under the I think the uh reign of Titus who came and destroyed completely
completely the temple that none of the stones were on the top of the other one they completely took
it off and that was around ad70 all right and before that there were the zits who were again
and again you know because they say that because of the zeits and their U you know arrogance and
because of their um insurgence they were actually um like always trying to um counter or maybe rebel
against the Roman Authority and it was during this time that they destroyed the completely the Temple
and so many people were were killed so this is the timeline of the entire uh thing um for that
we are doing all right we saw about the different Furnishings last week we saw about the golden lamp
stand uh we also saw about the the uh uh the altar of burnt offering we saw the bronze Basin
and then we are moving into the holy uh place um and this holy place we have three things which
is the golden stamp um and the table of showbread and then the altar of incense so last week we saw
about the golden St lamb stand and then today we will see about the table of showbread or
the table of the Pleasants okay we saw that um the Tabernacle was divided into two sessions and this
is what it was made of the Tabernacle was made of this it was divided by the curtain between
the holy place and the most holy place there was a curtain and the the entire top Tabernacle
was covered by the skins and just as the fence surrounded the CER the T protected the Tabernacle
itself and instructions were very precisely given to Moses and there were four different
layers uh materials covered the temple from the inside to the outside these materials were one
it was linen of the finest quality goat's hair Ram skin covering the died red Badger perise SEO skin
and actually the Hebrew word tahash is a skin of some kind of aquatic animal but Bible says it's of
maybe pader or purpose the outer layer the leather skin protected the Tabernacle from rain Mountain
Dew there was no a window there was no light coming inside there was no light going outside
it was completely covered it was sound proof um it was like you know outside was the noise of the
um the Rams the sacrifice the priest chanting and when the priest when the priest will come inside
uh after washing in the Basin when the priest will come inside you will see complete silence
complete silence and this silence and the cold the coolness of that entire environment was actually
very significant for the priest um and it is said that the priest um those who like some of
the priests they they loved going inside this um this holy place um and to be in the presence of um
you know God's Presence at that point of time they love to go inside um yes there are also you know
Legends which says that some of the fre they they were scared to go inside uh some of the Legends
even say that you know their legs were tied uh so that you know they don't know what what would
happen so the priest would actually take them out so what was said and then this place of holy the
holy place was a view or maybe a place that the priest would love to go out of the busyness of the
entire beatings of the cow the the screamings the the sacrifices the cuttings the the shoutings and
you know the all those sounds and the priest would come inside this place and that was an
amazing presence of God all right last week we saw about the priest entering the Tabernacle through
the curtain at the entrance every day the priest entered every day the priest is supposed to enter
the holy place to serve the Lord and this room was considered holy because of the proximity to
the most holy place where God's presence resided and God separated this area for special and sacred
activities and inside were three things um the seven Branch golden lampstand table of showbread
the altar of incense in front of the whale that separated the holy and the most holy place all
right and we saw about the lampstand the lampstand was one solid one piece object of beaten gold so
I told you to underline that word beaten that provided light for the priest and God instructed
Moses to use one Talent okay that was around 34 kg of gold beaten gold to make the lamp stand that
much worth it was it was shaped as a central shaft with three branches coming from each side and
each branch held an oil lamp the lamps used clear high quality olive oil that the lights brought as
an offering to the T Tabernacle the priest had to keep the lamps burning continuously probably both
day and night they had to keep um the lamp burning I will come up I'll come back to this particular
line in a short while these oil lamps burned pure beaten oil every night and were trimmed
every morning this is what I want to actually bring to your attention okay listen to me very
carefully it was a mandate for the priest to keep the Lamb's burning continuously the lamp should
not be dowsed the lamp should not be off the lamb should be continuously burned now in order for
the lamb to burn there was this Wick they used it right they used this Wick and this Wick had
something very powerful um significance um and that is what I want to actually bring to your
to your notice this Wick the priest have to trim this Wick every
morning so that this olive oil would burn every day without flickering or without even dowsing
off okay daily the priest removed any dead Wick that might prevent the light from Burning Brightly
just imagine when the priest have to come and trim this Wick everyday
morning what does that signifies in today's uh signifies in our world what does it signifies
in in our lives see Christians are the wick of God okay between the oil and the
light and if a wick is defective the oil of the the holy spirit is unable to flow
through US therefore causing the Light of Christ to flicker dimly and finally die out
that that's a reason why Christians must continually be trimmed by chassing that's
what Hebrews chapter 12 I will read for you Hebrews 12:5 onwards if you
have your Bible with you just take this word Hebrews chapter 5 Hebrews 12: 5 onwards it
says my son do not despise the chastening of the Lord don't be discouraged when you have been
rebuked by him for whom the Lord loves he chastens and scores every son he receives if you endure
chastening God deals with you as Sons what son is there whom the father does not chassen but if you
are without chastening or with of which all have become partakers then you are illegitimate illeg
illegitimate and you're not the sons furthermore we have had human fathers who corrected us and we
paid them respect shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the father of spirits and live
for they have indeed for few days chasteness as seemed best to them but he for our profit that we
may be partakers of the Holiness now no chastening seems to be joyful at the present but painful
nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been
trained by it you know why does the Lord chassen us as verse 10 says so that we can be partakers of
the Holiness I don't like I don't like being chassed I don't like being corrected I don't
like being you know pointed or being um you know put on um on a spot I like to be trusted I like
to you know to be um to do the things properly professionally I don't like being controlled but
then at times the Lord have to correct us so that you know we can burn brightly and it is not as the
word clearly said is not um very joyful uh when the Lord chassen us now some people think that the
Lord chasten us because of what we have done in the past no actually not so it is a very wrong um
understanding of the word of God the Lord doesn't chasten us to take uh or maybe you know to get
right with his Holiness no God chasten us so that we can be brightly burning for Holiness and that's
the reason why Hebrews 12:10 says so that we may be partakers of the Holiness the more we have been
chisled the more we have been you know uh trimmed every morning or every day the more we become
closer to the to the Lord um today you know some of one one of the person asked me Pastor um you
know I had a big loss in my life is it because the Lord um is angry on me is it because um you know I
did something in my past or is it because I don't have faith so I had to answer in the similar way
I said it is none of these things it is because the Lord is actually trimming you the Lord is
actually making you closer to him one more day and that is why just imagine how significance is this
Wick in our lives one is it should be pure beaten olive oil it should if you want your light to
shine the Holy Spirit you should allow the Holy Spirit to trim you every
day how many times it is um difficult for us to submit to the Holy Spirit just to
submit yes you may not like the um you know the Injustice or you may not like the indifference
or you may not like certain things what is been done to you but at the end of the day there's
one question which which lies and that is can we submit for this trimming and this pruning can we
submit ourself to be beaten so that this light would shine brightly so that we become partakers
of the Holiness of God and that's the reason why Exodus 27:20 there is one verse which clearly
says that you know the wick had to be trimmed every morning and the priest have to make sure
that this that this light should burn continuously without dying off I hope you understand it let's
move forward because I have so many other things to bring and this is the Lamb stand Jesus okay the
beaten gold would suggest a suffering savior now glorified in the presence of God Jesus said I am
the light of the world yes and Jesus also said you are the light of the world okay the by the way the
lamp provided light in the otherwise dark room in the Tabernacle now Jesus told his followers you
are the light of the world what is last week we saw about when Jesus is saying that I am the light
of the world and then his followers said you are the light of the world what does this light means
this light would only as I told you as we read one verse the light would only shine if you have been
enlightened by the light of Jesus Christ all right and what does this light say in the Bible Bible
says that the light helps us see the way okay it overcomes the darkness it removes the fear
it exposes the motives of the heart and it leads us to good works and it reveals the truth unless
this light of Jesus is shining in US whatever we do is temporary until unless this light of Jesus
is in US whatever we we do will not be consistent we will do just for the sake of doing it we will
do maybe you know for last week we saw that you know many people do so many things the difference
is is we don't do it for people to see we do it for the Lord to see and only that light when it
comes inside us we will be able to shine forth the light of Jesus if the light of Jesus is not inside
us we will become you know discouraged we will we will say okay I don't want to do it anymore I want
to quit I want to leave I want to you know enough is enough you know why because check whether
which light you are actually reflecting is it the light of the world or is it the light of the Lord
Jesus Christ if it is the light of the Lord Jesus Christ Bible says that even at the point of death
and even death itself Jesus was still Burning Brightly he did not give up and so are the we so
we as followers we are the light of this world we are to help people see the right way and we
have to be Overcomers of the darkness we cannot have fear we cannot have alter alterior motives
of selfishness and you know agendas in our heart we cannot be we cannot show the light of Jesus
if we are still holding on to some of the things which which the Holy Spirit doesn't like so this
light will expose the motives and we are supposed to be good works now as as I told you last time we
are not saved by good works but we are saved for good works I repeat we are not saved by Good Works
we are saved for good works as a Christian you you and me are supposed to do good works whether this
person deserves it or doesn't deserve it most of the time we actually end up you know judging the
People based on whether this person deserves or not and that's what last week's message when I was
preaching I said about barabus who was nowhere closer to be compared to the Lord Jesus Christ
just imagine I would say this of this world that's what this guy was called Barabas his crime was
clear his guilt was accepted he was a murderer the thief good for nothing nobody would even care if
he dies nobody would even you know want anything to do with this guy but just imagine Jesus have to
die even for the wildest of the wildest sinner like barabus and that's what a Christian faith
is a Christian faith doesn't depend on or nobody's saved because you know he deserves it or or nobody
saved because of the family um backgrounds or the traditional pride no nobody is saved nobody saved
because of the amount of Charity that the person have done or nobody saved because something this
person's life is something special no God is gracious to each one of us like barabus we are
like him all of us including me we are all like him we don't deserve this Mercy but when we stand
before the Judgment seat of the Lord Jesus Christ I hope he will be able to say good and faithful
servant let's move forward and this is what the Tabernacle showed and that today we will
as I told you we will see about the the showbread and you can turn your attention to Exodus chap 25
verse 23 uh to 30 Exodus 25:23 to3 the light from the golden stamp illuminated the table
of showbread okay this is how the picture there was a table and on the top of the table were uh
two you know Golden Plates bows and in this two golden plates were 12 six six
each six on one plate and six on the other which showed 12 tribes of Israel
and a picture that also of gold um and the light from the golden stand would
actually illiminate this table of showbread that it would it would be so powerful to
see let me just move forward this tool table stood at the right side okay of the Holy place
okay the right side of the that is the north side of the Holy place the term showbread comes from
the Hebrew word which means um bread of the face or maybe the bread of the presence okay bread of
the face or maybe the bread of the presence and the table this table was made of acaia wood and
it was covered with gold it was all covered with gold the table was 3 ft long and 2 and 3 by 10 ft
High okay this was the uh measurement of the table uh which was given the vessels of pure gold were
provided to minister at the table okay the vessels of pure gold were provided to minister now on the
table of showbread the priest placed 12 loaves of bread made from fine floor representing the 12 Tri
tribes of Israel so each bread will represent each tribe of Israel and likewise there were 12 tribes
12 bread representing the 12 tribes of Israel the 12 loaves were gathered from 12 tribes all these
where did they get this SLS every tribe have to give on a Sabbath they have to give each loaf of
bread to the priest to take it to the holy place days so they the 12 loaves were gathered from 12
tribes on on like every Sabbath all right this is what the table of showbread is now you may
ask this question what is the significance of this table of showbread it is very powerful to
know that this this this table of presentence they call it as the table of the bread of the
presence or the table of showbread it had something very very significance or significant
in the Old Testament all right I want you to turn your attention to Exodus chapter 20 Exodus chapter
24 and I want all of you to please if you can take your Bible
to Exodus chap 24 let me just give you the significance of this
okay now before that as you're taking Exodus chapter 24 God dedicated the bread for the
priest the sons of Aaron who ate this only the priest could eat this bread which was in the
Holy Place only the priest could nobody else only the priest that is the sons of Aon could eat this
in eating this bread the priests were representing the 12 tribes of Israel
such an action was a commemoration of the Covenant that God made with the Israelites
at Sinai you know what happened at Mount siai just come with me to Exodus chapter
24 verse one says the Lord told Moses come up to the Lord who all you Aaron naab abiu and 70
elders come up and worship from Far okay and only Moses should come near to the Lord but they shall
come near but they shall not come near all the others shall not come near nor shall the people
go up with them so this there is a covenant which the Lord is making with Israelite and for that God
Called Moses Aaron naab Abu and 70 elders to come to the mountain okay but only Moses was
allowed to come near to the Lord all the others were little far on the mountain itself but little
far okay and then Moses came verse three says Moses came and told the people all the words
of the Lord and all the judgments and all the people answered with one voice that all the
words which the Lord has said we will do that's what please underline that word we will do and
Moses wrote all the verse four says Moses wrote all the words of the Lord he rose up early in
the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain and 12 pillars according to 12 tribes of
Israel okay and he sent verse five he sent young men of children of Israel and who offered burnt
offerings and sacrifice peace offering of oxen to the Lord and then verse 7 says he took the
book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people and they said again they said all that
the Lord has said we will do and be obedient please underline that word and verse 8 says
Moses took the blood sprinkled it on the people and he said this is the blood of the Covenant
which the Lord has made with you according to all these words do you remember this words somewhere
else does anybody remember you can unmute and you can say it do you remember where else this
word is spoken or who spoke this word this is the blood of the Covenant which I am making with you
anybody Jesus Christ exactly where did he say this when he broke bread exactly so when Jesus was
having the L supper he made this similar statement this is the blood but he added something to it
what was that he said this is the blood of the New Covenant what was the old Covenant this was the
old Covenant Exodus chapter 24 is the old Covenant you know what was the Covenant the Covenant was if
you guys obey me then I will protect you I will be your God but if you guys disobey me then you
will be punished you will be sent to slavery you will you will suffer in your life that was the
old Covenant okay now look at this why am why am I telling this Covenant to you just to connect it to
the showbread look at this Moses went up verse 9 says Exodus 249 Moses went up Aaron naab abiu and
70 elders of Israel and they saw verse 10 says they saw the god of Israel now please make one
thing sure they did not see the face of God they saw the form of God okay they saw the form of God
but they did not see the face of God neither did Moses see the face of God yes there is a verse
which says that Moses saw face to face sorry Moses spoke face to face it doesn't say that
Moses saw face to face it's a colloquial metaphor which says you know Moses saw God face to because
it is when when we say about it he spoke to God as if it was closer enough okay that is what it
meant because Bible says that nobody at any time Jesus himself is nobody have seen God but the only
one who is from the very bosom of the father all right so please make sure that um don't say that
you know Moses um saw God face to face no Moses did not see God face to face Moses spoke to God
face to face that means it was very closer um when um go when go God was speaking to Moses in
a very very close way as if of a friend that's what Mo God spoke to Moses okay so now look at
this verse 10 they saw the god of Israel and there was under his feet as it were paved work of safire
stone and it was like a like the very heavens in its Clarity okay look at the description of how
this people saw verse 11 but on the Nobles of the children of Israel he did not lay his hand
so they saw God and please underline this word they ate and drank they ate and drank do you know
that in the in the olden times when they make the Covenant they would there would the Covenant would
include both parties to be present number two the Covenant would include the blood and number three
the Covenant would include a meal and if you read Exodus chap 24 you will see all these three things
they were both the parties present there was God of Israel and there were people of Israel
present there was blood involved Moses took the blood of The Oxen and sprinkled it on the people
there was mealing meal uh involved it is written in verse 11 they together after seeing this God
they together ate the meal in the presence of God what does it signify it signifies that
there was a deal which was made and this deal is the Covenant which God made with Israel and
when you come to the New Testament on the day before before Jesus was actually one
day before Jesus was going to be handed down to the to be crucified he broke the
bread with his disciples and he said this is the New Covenant this is the New Covenant of
the blood the old is gone and the new have come in anybody the old Covenant it was based on The
Obedience of the law the strict adherance of the law the strict yes dos and dones of the
law they strict you know doing the stuff with the which the the Lord proclaimed declared you
have to do all those things that's what the old Covenant meant but the New Covenant is not based
on dos and don'ts the New Covenant is based on your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus
Christ I want all of you to come with me to Jeremiah chapter 31 this
was proclaimed by the Prophet Jeremiah you know how many years back 600 years
before the Lord Jesus Christ if you can come with me to Jeremiah CH 31:31
somebody can read for me Jeremiah CH 31 vers 31-34 can unmute and read it for
me I think today nobody is having the Bible behold the days are coming says the Lord when I will make
a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah not according to the Covenant
that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the
land of Egypt my Covenant which they broke though I was a husband to them says the Lord but this
is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days says the Lord I will
put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts and I I will be their God and they shall
be my people no more shall every man teach his neighbor and every man his brother saying know
the Lord for they all shall know me from the least of them to the greatest of them says the Lord for
I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more amen what a powerful statement
how many years back 600 years before the Lord Jesus Christ Prophet Jeremiah prophesies this you
know the old Covenant who broke it not the Lord the Lord was faithful the people broke the new the
old Covenant but now the Lord is saying he's going to do four things okay in the New Covenant number
one the the New Covenant in the old Covenant was the outer adherance of the rituals and the dos
and the don'ts but the New Covenant the Lord is saying number one he will write the law in their
hearts and Minds that is number one number two in this new covenant the Lord will be their God
and they will be the people number three in the New Covenant nobody have to teach because holy
spirit is the teacher direct teacher to them the holy spirit will teach them and they will know
the Lord that's what the word says that's what we read just now they will know this is what
the Lord is that means the Lord will tune our or maybe you know he will shape our hearts and Minds
in such a way that we will know God and number four the Lord will forgive all the wickedness
in the New Covenant and that is a reason why we week after week we partake from the communion we
don't partake from the communion uh because you know it becomes the body of of Christ inside us
transubstantiation consubstantiation those are the terminologies maybe you can just go back home and
check or it it has a special effect on us you know the moment you take a bread and then you
know there's a special effect we become a super spiritual people no no no no the bread signifies
a New Covenant and this Covenant shows that you are the people of God the New Covenant shows that
you you have a God the New Covenant shows that you cannot remain in sin the New Covenant shows
that you cannot remain in bitterness the New Covenant shows that you cannot afford to be you
know always be in enemity with somebody the New Covenant shows that you are no longer the bondage
of the old you are a new creation and in this new covenant your God is the Lord Almighty God
of Israel and God of all the world and you are entering into a new relationship with the most
powerful being in the entire universe and that's the reason why this this is very significant and
why was this bread always in the Tabernacle just imagine this bread should be there in
the Tabernacle if you read in Exodus 2 5 verse um Exodus 25 verse 30 it says you shall set the
showbread on the table before me always please underline that word always not once in a while
always this communion we partake every week it has a special significance yes it is a
remembrance of the Lord's death second this is a new covenant and this Covenant is very important
this doesn't have a special effect this is not a magic thing this is not you know if I take this
bread then know all the curses will go no no no no this is a covenant a symbolism of a covenant
and before the Lord when you are remembered of the New Covenant which the Lord Jesus Christ
established when he came and when he shed his blood we have to remember that Covenant that
now we are not part of the old we are now part of the new and the old is passed
away this is the action of commemoration the bread of presence also signified God's covenant
provision and the presence as a provider for and among the 12 tribes of Israel and Jesus let me
just make the statement for you Jesus said in um I think where did he say in John chapter 6:35 what
did he say I am the bread of life whoever comes to me shall not hunger and whoever believes in me
shall never thirst let me just tell you something very powerful okay for that let me just go back to
the picture of this show bread okay look at this picture this picture shows that you know there's a
table full of gold and I told you in the last few classes back that gold represented Divinity okay
wherever you see gold it it is symbolic of the Divinity all right now this table was very next to
the the curtain very next to the curtain okay just imagine and on the table was bread does it sound
to you like Jesus on the manger when he was born the bread of life was on the manger where then
he came to this earth does it sound anything like that for you the Hebrew word for bread means face
that was the Hebrew word for bread face or the presence the table is near enough to the most holy
place to be consider standing in the very presence of God okay perhaps we can imagine the table being
like the manger that held the bread of life when he first entered our world and then later
like the cross on which Jesus hung he died for our sin both of this salvation occurred
salvation EV occurred before the very face of God powerful now let me come to what Paul said Paul
typified this in the church and he said for we though many We Are One bread and one body
for we are all partakers of that one bread who is this bread Jesus Christ is the bread now let
me just make a little statement when Jesus is saying that I am the bread of life he's he's
making it as a metaphor okay what is a metaphor please understand this so that you know you in
the Bible you will see so many places you will see metaphors a metaphor is a figure of speech
in which one thing or person is compared to a specific characteristics of another thing or
person using the linking verb to be okay it's a figure of speech to compare this thing with
the other thing that's what the metaphor means now when Jesus is saying that I am the bread of
life Jesus is comparing himself with a specific characteristic
of bread do you know what is this characteristics of bread it gives life it sustains not it gives
it sustains life bread sustains life and that's the reason why Jesus said I am the bread of life
I am the one who sustains I am the sustainer of every life on the face of the Earth Jesus
of course did not mean that he's like a piece of bread in every sense this is a
metaphor you know some of the Christian tradition nothing wrong in that again they take the bread
made of FL they they consider it sacred they consider it very sacred so that you know they
don't use this bread with casual attitude they cannot throw this bread down you cannot see
in certain Christian culture I'm talking about bread is very very significant of being sacred
and holy nothing wrong in that and the Very explanation is because Jesus is the bread of
life so we need to see this bread as holy no so that's the reason I said this is a metaphor and
Jesus did not mean that that you know he was actually bread in literal sense you know he's
exactly like a piece of bread everywhere no what he meant what he meant was he's the he's
our provision he is our all in all and he is the sustainance for life and I just want to read from
John chapter one one of my favorite U gospel the Gospel of John and look at what John says
in verse four okay I'll read from verse 1 2 and three in the beginning was the word the
word was with God and the Word was God he was in the beginning with God all things were made
through him please underline that and without him nothing was made that was made in him was
life who sustains every life on this planet Earth
it is the Lord Jesus Christ in him was light and the life was the light of men
and the light shines in the darkness all right and if you come with me to
Philippians chapter
2 um
verse six
onwards it says that being in the very form of God he did not consider it equality or robbery
to be equal with God but made himself of no reputation taking a form of a bond soit and
coming in the likeness of men and being found in the likeness of men he humbled himself and
became obedient to the point of death even the death on the cross therefore God exalted him and
given him the name above all other name that every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that
Jesus is the Lord for the glory of the father now when I say this I want all of you to remember our
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is not ritualistic our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is not for
some how do I say that some form of show thing that we have to show it people every Sunday we
come before the presence of God we we can come as we are and we have to remember the
New Covenant that he has shed for each one of us and this New Covenant the very God became man
and he came in our terms to establish this New Covenant he came in our terms he became man and
he became the lamp and he became our light so today if you and me have to enter this Covenant
relationship number one we have to enter through the blood of the Lamb number two we need to have
a meal and that's what our this Lord supper is symbolism of the very that God is our God as I
told you number one the Lord has written his law in our minds and in our hearts number two that he
has promised that he will be our God he will be with us number three that this Covenant we don't
have anybody to teach us but we will know what is right because holy spirit will teach us and number
four he will forgive us forgive our wickedness our iniquities because we are living in this
in this Pagan world for that will you allow the Holy Spirit to trim your Wick every day so that
you will bright you will light brightly or you will shine brightly for the kingdom of God will
you allow the Holy Spirit to prune your life and will you submit to the Holy Spirit and will you
say like the Lord Jesus Christ said not my will but your will I know when I'm saying this it is
very easy but it is difficult it starts from your home as children will you submit to your
parents I know they may not be too professional they may not be up to the mark but still can you
submit to them honor them and respect them as wives will you submit to your husbands will you
say to the Lord that Lord you have given me this husband I submit myself to your hand and under
his authority under his leadership I know you may be smarter than him I know you may be better than
him I know you may be you know you may know a lot of things than him you may be influential than him
but can you submit to his leadership and as husband can you submit to the leadership of
the Lord Jesus Christ allow him to cut you prune you correct you and you showing the way like the
Lord Jesus Christ showed the way of submission the way of obedience the way of suffering so
that your life your light will brightly shine in the this dark world may the Lord enable each one
of us as we study this and that's all for the show bread for today um next week we will see about the
altar of incense um and if there is anybody you have any questions or you want to add something
or something which you heard was nice you liked it in one line do please don't take time too much
that you know have to explain everything I did the class anyways this is the time over to all of
