we can phrase by this kind of cultural
conditioning
questioning authority was downright
dangerous
there was a palpable fear of the
teachers at school
we were told what to do when to do
and how to do everything and
because of this difference we blankly
follow directions
without ever thinking for ourselves at
home
the underlying principle was do what
you're told and don't ask
why actually we value cultural heritage
but as we go on to the study of
curriculum and how its implementation
affected the outcomes which are our
graduates
they have grown up with no autonomy
and no opportunity to make decisions
for themselves they are co-pilots
of their own lives imagine that here in
the philippines
though we have tried to innovate the
pitching and learning process
by the advent of the k-12 curriculum we
are still bounded by the traditional
process
that was exactly the same years back
there are maybe some leaders in the
written curriculum
but the hindrances cause teachers
to lean back to the traditional way of
facilitating learning then
implementation suffers
and with that instead of
developing the 21st learning
and innovation skills among our learners
who have different needs than the
learners who are living in the past
those skills were not developed this
education model was conceived
during the industrial revolution based
on standardizations
examinations and the lags look at how
far we have come
from that time the world has changed
drastically since then but the
classrooms still look
the same worst yet the messaging
is still the same what our children
needed then
is very different from what our children
need today
we look forward for our children a
school
that valued creativity which is the
wellspring of
innovation i have learned that every
single child comes
hard-wired of being an innovator and it
is our responsibility as educators
to nurture and to stop that spirit
i wanted my children to experience a
school that
celebrate their endings their
individuality
which we rejoice in their creativity
there are only two kinds of people
guess what it's you and everyone else
so remember what they bring to this
world is unique
second is that we teachers should value
their
opinions we respect them
and their abilities to think for
themselves
their thoughts have merit and let them
feel free to express fearlessly
