hello witches and welcome back to activist witch" where we discuss
Witchcraft and activism. you can call me Ysha, my pronouns are she /they and in
today's video we're going to discuss low energy Magic that you can do from
mundane things that you are already doing. but before we get started let me

theme of low energy Magic workings because I am just out of the throws of
a very intense autistic burnout phase which has brought me at times to get
nonverbal which is a first for me and in this
state very "supposedly" easy and still low energy -or low spoons as we say in the
neurodivergent community- activities are still not viable for me. so things
that I can't do in this state include reading, include
crochet, include even just taking the time to go to a specific place and do
either meditation or yoga because that's work that I cannot add on the things
that I would do and they're hard to do. the way that autistic burnout manifests
in me is just the inability of any thought that I have to manifest
either in a practical way and so I decide that I am doing something and
then my brain cannot put in line the events that I need to make happen for
that so I decide that I'm going to shower and then put on new clothes. my brain
cannot break down the "okay it means that you need to first stand up, it means that
you need to go to the bathroom, it means that you need to open the water" those
steps don't come to me
and sometimes it's hard, sometimes the
days are just spent in bed and if the days are just spent in bed
I think that the simple fact that you are surviving it's part of a magical
practice in those phases. so with the wish that you always get to understand
you are getting towards burnout
knowing that you can stop before getting there and so start to replenish your
energy before you get to that state, that is the hope, I hope that you always catch
yourself in time not to get to burn out. if you get there and you're like me
and so your OCD brain is like "but you have rituals to do otherwise bad things
happen" well, these are things that I tried to keep doing and
it's better than doing nothing in my brain? but do not quote me on that.
the first thing is stirring drinks or food. now, usually when I'm in this state my
wife takes care of me, makes food and those kind of things, there's one thing
that I cannot relent control over and that's making my morning coffee. because
it's complex, because it requires different things, in a certain order,
mixed in a certain way, it would give me more anxiety to let it be done by
someone else than do it myself, so I have direct access to that so what to do:
something that stuck with me from the first meeting that I had with my coven
which was at mabon in 2023 was the simple intention being
stirred in food in drinks, and the simple fact that you have an intention, that
you're thinking about something and you're thinking about what you want and
possibly if you're able you also visualize what it means, say, Prosperity
you want to attract Prosperity. what does prosperity mean to
you? does it mean a number in the bank? does it mean the comfortableness of
knowing you don't *have* to go out, work, whatever, but still be comfortable? does
it mean seeing your family without the constriction of time or holidays?
whatever Prosperity means to you, the idea of setting your intention is
actually being able to visualize what it means in Practical terms, so that you can
get closer to the manifestation of it by being able to visualize how it would
happen, how it would manifest. and at that point if you stir
clockwise or deosil, I always just read it so if it's pronounced wrongly
let me know. deosil means clockwise, if you've ever read
it in a witchcraft book, when you stir clockwise you want things to come
towards you, Prosperity would be one of that in this case or
love. vice versa you can also use this very simple Kitchen Magic
counterclockwise which means you're pushing things
away. so in my case when I'm in this state State what I want to push away
is the feeling that some describe as the black dog for depression. I don't
necessarily have depression in such a way but I have a feeling that what I
experience is similar in some descriptions, so the sense of Oppression
and lack of energy I wanted to leave me and therefore I would focus on myself
like having plenty of energy or having desire and ability to do things
and therefore then I would go and stir counterclockwise pushing away that kind
of inertia, hopefully. in the same witchcraft books that we were talking
about before you might have seen counterclockwise described as widdershins
again not sure about the pronunciation, it's what happens when you
just read stuff. the next points technically come under just one thing
which is grooming but I've split them because I do not take for granted that
in the same day, in this state, I will be able to shower, wash my face properly, and
brush my teeth properly. so something that I read in a Llewellyn Almanac from a
few years ago was this simple process of basically transforming your grooming
activities into a modern Khernips which I think was the Hellenistic way to
cleanse oneself before worshiping deities. and so the main point was to first
open the faucet and close your eyes. you call upon or try to evoke the
spirits of fire and the spirits of Earth. I think you don't call the spirits of
air because that's the opposite of water and you don't do that. I'm ready to hear
elucidations on that fact though. and what I simply do is literally close my
eyes and extend my hands towards the South for fire, towards the north for
earth, I literally say "fire, earth, lend me your power" I put my hands around the
faucets where the water is coming out and I say "Xer Nipto Sai"
which was apparently what you used to say or what you used to call it in
Hellenistic times. at that point -and that's not something that the book
suggested but that's how my brain started to go doing this- I visualized
that the water that is coming out of the faucet is
actually liquid light, sort of, it could be whitish, it could be yellowish, it
could be bluish, but it's This brilliant liquid light that now comes out because
of the power of fire and Earth of the power of xerniptosai
at that point then different things happen. the first point is just washing
my face and for washing my face I simply go along with what the book suggested
saying "lustral Waters here I conjure wash away impurities". when I do the same thing in
the evenings and so maybe I'm taking off lipstick maybe I'm just simply taking
off the day I adapted saying it "lustral Waters
here I conjure wash away the days, and keep me healthy and young"
there's a charm for teeth brushing. we're going to do that anyway aren't we?
if we have the strength, so might as well make it magic. and the way to Magickify it
it's a very short charm, although it took me a second to learn it by memory, and it
goes "my words are clear, my words Divine, my words are true, my words are kind" and
of course you can't quite say that while you're brushing your teeth so I just
keep repeating it in my head until the 2 minutes for my toothbrush are gone. there
is a full intense charm for showering, which I
never learned by memory, I don't know how to write it on my bathroom tiles to just
keep it there, so I just remember the first four lines which is going under
the water and just asking the water to "cleanse your body, cleanse your mind
cleanse your soul, cleanse your spirit" that's it. on the matter of
correspondences colors and color magic might come in useful as well. now I have
been able to stay in the same outfit for a number of days that we are not going
to name here but, it's a point that color
correspondences and color magic have a meaning in Witchcraft and, you know,
when we choose the color of a candle usually refers to that so black is
protection and pink and red is love and passion so on. green is money or gold is
money as well. so in this case I think inadvertently I chose something orange
because orange and yellow have to do with this energy and success and I lack
that at the moment so I wouldn't mind if some of that got to me, so another
thing that you can do when you shower and you manage to choose an outfit, if
you want, is to think about the colors and if it's too much whatever you wear
it's protecting you already from the elements, that's good enough. now this is
something that I... it should be so easy to remember to do every day I don't know
know why I don't, but it's something relatively easy:
you go to the bathroom in the morning first thing you do you you look in the
mirror: how bad has the night been on my face? am I swollen? am I
bloated? is my hair completely undone and I need to do it again? those kind of
things. so something that I think comes from Psychic witch the book by Mat Auryn
is about doing daily Affirmations in the mirror just so that you start to tell
yourself convince yourself to bring those subtle powers to the Forefront
because "you are a powerful witch, you can hear Spirits, you can talk to them if you
want to". what I started to do other than that
after the suggestion of Sahnre, which I know because he's a Creator as well
he's a witchy content creator as well and he has "the order of chaos"podcast
which I link down in the description below, and he had this interesting
addition to give which was "not only do this affirmation in the mirror but when
you do it look into your left eye" because supposedly -and I love when
Witchcraft and science come together- supposedly, when you look into your left
eye, you know how eyes cross so the left eye corresponds to the right side of the
brain and vice versa, you supposedly code it into the right side of your brain
which is supposedly the more creative and less analytical. so that's an
interesting addition that I did as well. I wish I could remember more, my personal
affirmations are all about psychic powers at the moment because it's my
lacuna and so it's about "you are psychic, you can hear Spirits, you can talk to
spirits, you can see auras" that kind of thing, so it would be whatever you want
to increase, you just tell to your left eye in the mirror that you can already
do that. affirmations are always done in the present tense because the universe
knows not of tenses and negatives so also be careful about saying negative
things about yourself. I speak from experience there. here's something that
maybe you didn't think about and to me it doesn't necessarily come from
witchcraft but came from eye yoga. so something that's been happening to me in
the last few years unfortunately is that my eyesight has steeply gone south to the
point that I've had to change my prescription glasses like twice in a
year and it bugs me incredibly. I can't see properly, I can't read properly
anymore without glasses at all, and even just like like looking at the TV, looking
at things, one of my eyes is much more blurred than the other
one. and you know at times it's just with age it happens the muscles
around your cornea get stiffer and so it's harder for your lens to
adjust. I am not good at accepting that so I
started to look into the Bates method which is technically eye gym? eye yoga
and something that you do of the basic exercises there is palming your
eyes so you go like this because technically even when you sleep and you
close your eyes, your eyes are moving, there's still light going through, your
eyes technically never rest so that's a way to make your eyes rest.
so palming, that's what it is, I us usually do it for 5
minutes and the point is you actually see complete Black. I am not good at just
sitting still for 5 minutes because my brain doesn't allow me
but something that I found interesting while doing that, and it's
literally just taking a pause from the rest of the world, like, it's not say
watching TV, it's not doing anything for 5 minutes. and along with doing that I
started to do the first exercise of psychic witch which is counting back
from 100 to one. and bizarrely I discovered that if I manage not to get
distracted I actually manage to do 100 to one in 5 minutes, in the five minutes
that it takes, I put an alarm, and if not an
exercise those 5 minutes can literally just be used for meditation
and at the same time it helps your eyes, you disconnect from the world, and you
can just sit with your thoughts and I don't know, there's two videos
that I've seen recently, one is by Ivy corvus, ivy the Occultistm and one is by
Aster Perpetua, and they both talk about meditation and I think one of the
biggest misunderstanding of meditation that I had as well was that meditation is
having your mind blank. no. meditation is letting the thoughts come and do not
follow the train of thought, the thought came, the thought can go, you don't have
to start running after it, whichnot obvious still but it's interesting and
it made me definitely feel less of a failure for the way that I approach and
can do meditation. so I'll link to those two
videos actually down in the description below. the last thing that I do and I
didn't realize but it is useful. one of the worst thing that I do when I'm in
Burnout is feeling incredibly useless. I don't say it out loud but I
think of bad things about myself, about
laziness, about "really you could shake yourself off" which is not actually
physically possible but I grew up at a time and
in a place where any kind of health issue that you had, unless you were
bleeding, was not an issue. so I have a lot of internalized
ableism that I'm still working through. and being autistic, and having CPTSD, and
having OCD, is definitely humbling in that sense, and you would not imagine the
level of psychosomatic and somatoform effects that anything that technically
you shouldn't be able to see actually has and affect your body with
so that being said, trying to be kinder to myself and
accepting that even if I do nothing it's okaym it's how I'm recharging my batteries.
something that I realized I do and it's actually not nothing even if it
feels distracting and entertaining and not necessarily as
involved, it's actually having on witchtube so throughout the last few
days I've had two things on my TV and usually I need stuff and sound to
distract me when I'm in this state because silence alone could let my brain
go places I don't have the ability or the
energy to get it out from, so that kind of company is necessary, and so there are
a lot of witch tubers that are keeping me a lot of company and that I probably
created a parasocial relationship with that they're not even aware but I
consider friends because they have kept me company in these very dark days and
it's just like having a friend that is there and is talking to you without
asking anything of you, and one of the hardest things in Burnout is making
people understand: I'm not replying to texts, I'm not being
present, not because I'm being fussy, not because I'm being haughty, because I genuinely
don't have the ability to do otherwise. it always created me trouble,
I've been having burnout and disconnect moments since I was a child in hindsight,
but again, by my mother I was just called lazy
so I never thought much of it, I just knew that that's what I need to do every
once in a while: I disconnect, I close my door, I just shun away everything and
then when I finally can interact again I go around with a sorry pad because I've
been selfish and lazy for not going back to you. that's not the
case. and I wish there was more openness about this. A system that a friend of
mine started to propose for me was just "if you don't have the strength send
me a full stop, I will know that a full stop is: I love you but I'm burnt out and
I'm not able to do anything I will let you know as soon as things change" and
it's such a small thing but so useful. so the last thing is indeed all these
people, there's aster, there's bente the norse witch, there's Aradia The Witch of
dark light, there's ivy, there's Rihannon, There's lavender, there there's Ella, she
went into the woods, there's Eddie the wolfsbane witch, there's leap taken,
there's the Bronx witch, there's Ari the oak witch, oh Ari,
I have a very very very very very soft spot for Ari not only because she's
my British sibling but also because the way that she talks about things is not
only soothing, it's actually the reason why I
understood that, it's not just having a friend
talking to you without demanding energy from you, but some things, some
information stuck with you, despite the fact that I don't
feel like I'm making enough of an effort watching witch tube as I would reading a
book, but that's the amazing thing especially when Ari talks about books
she's so good at condensing information and telling "okay this book is good for
this this this and this it's not very good for this and this so maybe you want to
look into this and this book"
my vocabulary is not completely come back but I really
hope that the satisfaction on my face can deliver how good that is for my
brain that Ari can distil information like that
and especially through her work I realized
at some point "oh why do I have this information now, why do I think I know
this thing? oh Ari talked about it! when did I watch it? oh it was just one
of those days that looked all the same and looked like I have now a black hole
of time" because yeah, when I'm in autistic burnout those days get somewhat
erased from my memory, or so I thought, but instead no, information still gets to
me, but because it's an information that I gain passively, without supposedly
spending energy, like I said reading and crochet I can't do in this
state, but that way I didn't realize and I didn't mean for it, but stuff still
stuck with me and it's a gift that we have in
the witch tube community and I mentioned it before maybe I'll make a
specific video about it especially because there's the
#occultea tag at the moment out that the polish folk witch and the redheaded
witch and Ella Harrison have started talking as content creators that do
witchy content, and I've been a content creator for much longer than I've been
on this channel so there's a lot of experience that I have, in good
and bad, and maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase with witch tube but I
haven't seen another community that is that Progressive, that kind, I don't
know, maybe I've been really lucky, maybe because since the beginning this has
been "the activist witch" if you want to focus on your womb
and you think that everybody that doesn't have or works with a womb is not
valid you likely haven't found my videos and thankfully I haven't found
you. if you think that oppressing people and that your value because of skin
color, because of having been born on the lucky side of an imaginary line that is
called the border, is something of value for you it's... I don't think we have found
each other, I don't think our path will cross and, I think that's for the best.
quality not quantity. so I feel extremely lucky for
the people that I have found and dealt with since joining actively witch tube
it's a very good Community, it has a lot of good intentions that manifest into
action, which so far in my experience of different niches and communities it's
unprecedented. now I can tell that my brain still has things to do but that
the connection to my mouth is growing thinner and thinner so for the time
being I hope that these few tips about magicify mundane things that you would
do most days anyway? not that I necessarily expect to, like, don't take
these as expectation and I'm being very honest
about this because it's my own experience, that every single day you
will wash your face, you will shower and you will brush your teeth, because again
let's not go into counting them but there have been a long time for me not
to do that because I didn't physically have the ability to tell my body "move
and go" so there's no judgment there, and that's why there are other things
there's part of grooming but there's also the understanding that that could
be something that you start to do when you're getting out of burnout not every
day of burnout anyway. I hope if nothing
else, again, going back to the beginning if you ever catch yourself running
really really really on paper thin energy
stop before it gets to a point where you just
have to disconnect and reset, because at that point it's harder,
when the glass is truly empty it's harder and it's going to take
longer to fill it up again cause at that point there not going to be enough if it
gets to halfway, it needs to get properly full. and I always say "you don't pour
from an empty cup" and it has to apply to our own selves as well
