Maul big thanks again to gvg Maul for
sponsoring today's video now let's get
into it shall we this ladies and
gentlemen is the Razer Huntsman V2 this
is our Baseline keyboard for the day our
name brand keyboard that comes in at1
$30 when it is on sale but this is your
typical run-of-the-mill I got the best
keyboard I could find in the market but
that's kind of what we're here to show
you is that you can spend less money
than this keyboard have better build
quality better typing sounds and
hopefully a better overall experience so
yeah we're going to go ah and take a
look at this razor keyboard give you our
initial Impressions but from our
experience this again being our Baseline
is going to represent the other big
names corer Logitech uh Razer in general
and there's a lot of other ones out
there that are in this category of $100
plus they do come with good software and
that might be the main downside of these
other keyboards but other than that some
people are paying for honestly worse
build quality and a worst keyboard
experience and we're here to educate you
guys on some really cool ones so let's
take a look at our Baseline and then
we'll dive into the rest oh look at that
razor yeah this is something that uh you
know many people they love the Razer
brand now we have told you guys many
times you know we do like Razer we're
not the biggest fans of the software as
with most softwares honestly they're
usually just really cumbersome they ask
you a lot of questions they try to
almost take over your PC at times it
feels like and also a big problem with
razors they're kind of known for having
issues with certain games where the
software is literally looked at like a
cheat or a hack which can be kind of
annoying yeah in general the rule of
thumb we like to do is limit the amount
of software you have on your computer
and that's also with RGB software
there's just a lot of things nowadays in
the PC space software wise that will
slow your PC down but it is important to
mention this being the Huntsman V2 it
does come with their linear Optical
switches which before back in the day
when I bought my first razor keyboard
all they have with their razor green
switches were basically like Blue
switches so already step in the right
direction but build quality wise I don't
know you got the wrist rest and
everything got the dial I'm already
seeing I'm seeing a few things that I'm
not going to lie I like so I like that
the wrist rest is magnetic we've had a
couple razor keyboards where they
weren't magnetic and and to me that's
just kind of atrocious so this is really
good on them it's very soft which some
people may love some may hate because
they say soft is less ergonomic we do
get two different heights for feet as
well and I will say they actually feel
pretty nice I'm liking this re rep
pattern too it's kind of cool looking we
get some anti-lick feet now on the back
side we do have a braided cable but it
is not detachable now is this really a
problem for most people no but a lot of
people love getting those nice artisent
cables uh where they have like the
braids in them and everything so this is
not an option for this keyboard uh now
this is going to be very RGB ified I
think this is one of the typical what do
they call it 16.8 million colors yes and
with the RGB software through Razor you
can customize it to whatever specific
Hue of a green or a blue or red that you
want to do and um yeah look at those
Optical switches yeah these are wild
looking so the switch itself actually
has like a stabilizer on I assume each
one which I have yeah I've never seen a
switch like this before we're honestly
not super versed in Optical switches you
don't see a ton of keyboard
manufacturers using these um but they're
cool nonetheless and you can still get
the same type of feel and everything and
these are definitely linear but they're
heavy I mean have you felt these things
yet they feel almost like a like a black
switch kind of and this does bring up an
interesting point when it comes to these
gaming keyboards a lot of these big
companies and even one that Jonah and I
had discussion about in the airport
after leaving Micro Center was talking
about keyboards that are more gaming
focused and fast response time focused
woing is a one that's come to the space
that's become really popular recently
which we actually take a look at like
six years ago that's really focused on
really fast response times with the
switch press and for most Gamers yes you
will see a difference there but we're
trying to find a healthy balance here
where it's a keyboard that's not only
really nice build quality but also has
decent enough switch actuation so you're
good in games and you won't feel like
you're being left behind in games in
terms of speed and response time but
also feel like you have a really good
keyboard to type on for a good
experience and this one definitely goes
for the speed approach but it does
sacrifice in terms of overall build
quality yeah and I mean honestly though
on paper it's really not bad I mean it's
a fairly heavy keyboard it is mostly all
plastic it appears that everything I
think even the top plate unless it's
it's a little cold so I don't know maybe
it could be aluminum on top we'll have
to check I'm sure the Box brag about it
um and the switches stabilizers you know
not bad you get a little bit of
rattle yeah you can definitely hear yeah
you'll say once once Jonah shows you
guys the typing test you'll hear a
little bit of rattle on the space and
shift any of the larger keys that have a
stabilizer on them but I mean it looks
pretty nice so yeah we're going to go
Ahad and dive into a typing test cuz
that'd be the best way to determine the
sound difference of these keyboards and
you can determine which one you like the
best but we'll go ahead and start with
the Baseline show you guys the razor one
and then dive into the next
keyboard now the first keyboard we have
is from RK Royal cludge the r65 keyboard
which I'll go over some of the key specs
while Jackson is unboxing but this one
comes in at the the lowest price here of
$65 yeah so and it looks like too I mean
we're not doing Apples to Apples in
terms of size cuz we're not really we're
wor about build quality we're wor about
build quality and just how good it
sounds and feels in typing yeah and this
is definitely a preferred style keyboard
for gamers this comes with linear cream
switches which are from or arkade
themselves with a 45 G actuation Force
they are gasket mounted and they do come
with hot swappable LEDs USBC support MDA
profile and PBT key caps and uh it does
have software as well so this is a 65%
keyboard and the difference between a 65
and a 60% normally is just the arrow
keys the fact that they're included and
I really like that because I do miss
arrow keys when I use a 60% board all
right so we got a detachable USBC I will
say I mean it's detachable that's a big
bonus but it's not braided I mean you
know it's not a big deal I would still
take detachable any day
and oh oh my god dude that is nice so
yeah this is where you're going to start
seeing like just the style difference
versus like this gamer keyboard which is
all black RGB this one does prefer the
more like aesthetic style more of a a
classy look per se and it comes with
those cream switches which do come from
Ark and as you can tell from our first
impression sound great wow there is well
you guys are going to get a nice little
typing test from Jon and I think he's
really going to love it but the the
bottom out sound they have mastered this
sounds like I remember helping Zach
build like thousand keyboards back in
the day because he's a big keyboard
Enthusiast he helped playing the video
of course they sound like this or even
worse honestly so the fact that this is
what did you say $65
ohy scopy is upside down full argb and
it's full argb it should have software
as well that you can download RK you do
got to be a little bit careful with some
of these noname brand companies because
you don't really know where the software
is coming from but I will say RK has
been around for a long time I would
trust their software in before like some
expose video that comes out on RK and
then my name is out there whatever but
um we have used their keywords many
times and their software would be good
to use and um I would assume also in the
Box it will show you how to customize
RGB through the keyboard as well so you
don't have to worry about that and that
that is a big bonus I don't know well no
Razer yeah they do have modes now which
maybe they did before but normally when
I think of Razer I just always think man
they try to push that software but these
keyboards usually don't even pop up
anything like you have to search for the
software normally it is all just like FN
and then pressing certain keys and
you're going to get different colors and
whatnot which I personally prefer now on
the bottom of the keyboard we have four
anti-slip pads which are smaller
compared to the Razer keyboard but we do
have adjustable feet and the adjustable
feet is two different heights so that is
always nice to see very basic bottom
plate nothing too crazy here yeah I saw
they they they give you this it's like a
spudgy tool so I guess it's so that you
can take the frame off question mark oh
because this is hot swap since we get
this which is also crazy now it does
come with this volume dob that you can
program to whatever you want
realistically within Windows a nice
little feature that is again on this
$100 keyboard This has extra media keys
but whatever the entire frame is
actually plastic which Sur surprises me
because of how well it sounds on initial
Impressions that's probably why they're
saving some money there definitely is
some flex and it doesn't have like a
super premium feel but again it's $65
and everything else is really premium
yeah so I mean overall we're going to
have Jonah do a typing test but I I am
already this is probably one of the
nicest Senter keyboards for the price
I've ever seen
[Applause]
all right guys so we typed on this
keyboard and we're off to a great start
we are at half the cost in terms of just
overall typing experience and just Joy
using this keyboard versus this keyboard
from Razer this one's crazy again it
does sacrifice in terms of not having
all the metal build quality and
everything's plastic but who cares when
this keyboard sounds so great and comes
with all the software at the price point
should we rank these we should probably
rank these in order I mean I guess the
pricing is little all over the place but
this one's going to be hard to beat like
unless it does something dramatic in
terms of like better build quality of
the frame and everything or something
crazy with the design this one's a
really awesome Contender and I would
definitely pick this all day every day
over a razor keyboard number one so
remember when I said we're going to do
this in order I was wrong this one the
eom maker Shadow X is actually cheaper
than the one we just looked at at 4 $299
and again we'll go over some of the key
specs here while Jackson opens that one
up this thing features linear epomaker
Flamingo switches with palm stem
polycarbonate housing it does come
factory Lube with 47 G actuation for
three Lube stabilizers and overall it's
gasket mounted plate very awesome build
quality three ways to connect Bluetooth
2.4 Wireless wired USBC a metal rotary
dial and a south facing LED with full
RGB all right so I'm already seeing once
again a detachable USBC now this one's
braided unlike the other detachable USBC
we just saw oh and goldplated if that
matters to anyone I like these switches
they're so pretty they are they're
they're very pretty they're like
transparent which I've honestly never
seen these switches before now this is
cool I don't know why it says TV on it
but I think it's a little LCD display
let's plug it up we got to see that
right you can actually customize yeah I
wonder if it'll just come on wow look at
that what so what is it showing right
now oh oh oh oh okay BL okay I get it so
it's Bluetooth or uh g 2.4g wow oh wow
is showing it charging and stuff oh yeah
cuz it's a wireless keyboard you can run
a wireless uh with the 2.4 or Bluetooth
why are they all so good hold up dude
it's so good bro what has happened to
the keyboard space like it's insane like
we were playing this video and I I knew
there would be keyboards that were like
good but I did not expect at this cheap
of a price to be that good like we just
were doing keyboard and mouse combos
from Red Dragon at this price point a
little while ago and these are like
Elite level keyboards yeah all right so
uh this one let's see seem be plastic
still a lot of plastic I I do like that
I see some Allen um Keys here so a
little bit more like standardized uh we
do get the multi-layer feet so we get uh
two different heights we get once again
pretty small anti-slip but they're there
there 2.4 GHz dongle which the other one
was not wireless right no this one is
not wireless which again I mean I I have
a wireless keyboard at home that I don't
run wireless just because I don't really
care too much so but if that's a selling
point then I guess it's huge now this
though is super cool the LCD the knob is
interesting cuz like it's not a rotary
knob it's just a change between modes
but I will say aesthetically it does
look nice and uh I'm liking the color
scheme is once again okay that's plastic
for sure this is all plastic which I
would hope so at $40 which just like
Matt was showing before I can definitely
Flex this thing but I mean once again
just that that th that th is amazing
that th be a thin I want to see one of
these bad Bo we got say take a look at
these Flamingo switches it's crazy to
see these companies actually well making
I don't know how much of the
manufacturer they're actually doing but
taking switches naming them their brand
and coming up these really clean linear
switch keyboards and so these are a box
style switch um they they feel really
similar to a red uh very smooth they're
not lying about the Prelude once again
no stabilizer noise whatsoever there's
no scratchiness so just like the last
keyboard we saw that was more expensive
than this one super smooth throughout
the board it's all the noise isolation
stuff too apparently there's a silicone
pad in here for noise isolation like
that's just extra stuff that enthusiasts
would do on their own so now we go over
the main key specs of this keyboard
again it just keeps getting better and
we're going lower in price uh we're
going to do a typing test and then give
us our final impressions
[Applause]
this keyboard's great I think it it has
a different sound profile compared to
the other one we just took a look at
from RK but it is still a very awesome
keyboard I mean which one do you prefer
honestly I kind of like this a little
bit better crey that's more thy I think
I like the thy more cuz it makes me
think typ brigher and I just I just like
the Vintage stuff and you got to admit
that screen and the wireless capability
is a big oh and it's cheaper I'm like
it's cheaper is that not number one it
has to be number one just because it's
cheaper and everything else it's a crazy
keyboard um but hey now pricing wise
we're going to go up from that arcade so
we went middle down now we're going to
jump the arc and go to the next
expensive keyboard and see if things get
much better when we get higher into the
price brackets all right guys now we got
an eom maker and owa collab the F75
coming in at $79 and a lot of the specs
are pretty much the same it does come
with a different switch type though that
we will talk about here in a second but
yeah Evo maker is a company we've
already heard of before we actually sell
some at PC bros. Tech or PC business and
make some really premium keyboards and
this collab looks like it's no different
ooh okay I'm we're starting to see a
little bit of uh kind of out there
design with some different colors on the
keycaps so yeah the main switch that
comes with this keyboard is a TTC
Crescent switch that are Prelude from
the factory it does have a 42 G
actuation point this is another gasket
Mount plated keyboard with sound
absorption built in it is hot swappable
has North facing LEDs three ways of
connectivity Bluetooth 2.4 Wireless and
wired USBC and it does come with cherry
Profile double shot PBT key caps with a
media knob we get once again detachable
USB type c now this one is not braided
but I think that they almost kind of did
on purpose to make it look kind of
vintage almost yes um which is kind of
what this keyboard makes me makes me
feel it's like vintage with some
different colors um almost it's like
like a 70s kitchen you know what I mean
that's what you're going to notice
compared to the gaming brands that go
for the all black with RGB or all white
with RGB these are going to be more
design focused so they're going to look
kind of cool you're going to want to
hunt for one that fits your setup but
they are more on the pretty side versus
The Gamer throw up RGB Vibe now once
again just like all the other ones so
far we get two different High
adjustments anti-slip feet and this one
is heavy that's one thing we all noticed
right away and I don't think it's
because that it's like full of metal or
anything they may have actually added a
weight to cuz it's still Matt's flexing
it right now it's very plastic but it is
definitely heavier it's probably just a
much more rigid frame in there but in
terms of feet yeah you got all those
options there for anti pads and it is
two options as well so very similar now
the layout of this keyboard is 75% which
is similar to tkl and it does save on
that numpad space so you can have more
room for your mouse and it's definitely
preferred by Gamers that layout might be
much more optimal for you versus like a
60 or 65 because you get way more keys
to use yeah this is once again another
switch that I'm not super familiar with
so this is also a box switch that is
kind of like I guess it's almost like a
gator on yellow or or just like a red
you know what I mean it's linear um SM
feels a little heavy yeah maybe more
like a black switch Yeah but it's still
smooth and really it's that sound that
it produces it still has now this one's
quieter I noticed that it's quieter um
but still a little bit of tha once it
hits the bottom so yeah let's go and
plug it up and see this should have RGB
um EO maker I don't know what they do
software wise they have a software they
software it's pretty good I assume it's
probably pretty light like not super
heavy you can ask that cuz he's done
he's messed I like the color it went to
it just went to a white to start which
honestly or is it like color shifting I
can't tell it's kind like a purple I
think it's like a it's like a light
purple is what I would say and I think
it matches it very well obviously those
other keyboards defaulted RGB I probably
would have changed them to white or
something very neutral um because it
matches the whole theme very well but um
yeah this is a really nice looking
keyboard I don't think we're going to
find a keyboard here besides our our
$130 razor that has stabilizer noise um
maybe the one we build ourselves if we
don't build it very well but yeah once
again super smooth uh we're going to goe
and do a little typing test and see what
we think
[Applause]
[Applause]
so typing test again sounds great but
again now we're getting to a higher
price point where we're getting closer
and closer to that razor keyboard not
saying that that's the one you would
want to go with but we are not saving as
much money here unless you want the tkl
design and you maybe like the sound
profile significantly better versus the
other ones it might not be the best
option for you so we're thinking three
on this one I would say second or third
I mean the only other Advantage I see
that some people will just love is the
weight I mean I know some people really
care about having a heavy keyboard I
personally have never cared because I
don't ever move my keyboard around um so
me because of the price of that one
still I'm going to say third I think on
that one third for the $79 keyboard and
uh cool color scheme overall really
awesome board let's go on to the last
fully built ready too keyboard and then
we're going to dive into building one
ourselves which you can do still for
cheaper than this one and I bet it's
still going to sound great and the last
ready to go keyboard is the yunzi al66
which comes with with milk switches oh
milky switches now hold up is this a 66%
keyboard the numbers seem to point to
the actual layout but I don't know if
that's the case with this one because
I've never heard of a 66% keyboard
mallister if that's the case do
something to me make me go crazy big but
yeah this does come with a linear milk
switch from yunzi 45 G of actuation
force it does come with again the same
gas and mount uh plate it is equipped
with um a lot of installation inside for
very quality sound so you don't get the
the rattle you normally get from a
keyboard that doesn't have it it does
come with the same three ways of
connectivity Bluetooth 2.4 gig Wireless
and USBC 14 default RGB effects with
eight background colors style facing
LEDs with custom software as well and it
is a cherry Profile double shot PBT key
cap kit that is hot swappable this one
looks crazy big difference this thing is
heavy and it's all metal it's cold oh my
God I think that's is that
alluminum that feels like is where we're
starting to see the price jump here this
thing is wow this thing is wow this
thing is wow you know what's funny
though USB type-c still very similar I
mean detachable but it is uh you know
not like braided or anything like that
um man this is no you know what I now
this is the first one though okay you
can't raise it yep you can't raise it
unless you just put something underneath
it which I could be wrong isn't that
kind of common for custom built
keyboards like yeah mine doesn't have
that but I mean they do like they they
make the frame raised so so it is angled
you see this it has a Windows and Mac uh
switch oh nice so your Windows key can
be a command key or whatever yeah um so
yeah I mean this thing Weight Wise I
would say this is almost double most of
our other keyboards yeah let's see what
the RGB is looking like we do get a
little rotary knob over here this one
just almost looks like it was like
freshly milled out of a factory you know
what I mean it definitely wa hold up you
see this oh side light you see the side
lighting right there that's pretty clean
okay and then um so we get a box style
switch which is a a milk switch milky
switch and I mean you know I'm noticing
uh the trend here Zach's just like us we
all love linear switches here no Tac out
feedback just nice and smooth yeah
that's normally what's going to yield
the the fastest response time and the
smoothest experience in terms of like
the typing and that sound a lot of
people know from Custom buil keyboards
most of the time they're going to come
from linear switches there are examples
with tactiles but linear are normally
the way they go pretty nice I will say
you definitely get a different sound
profile on like the larger yeah on the
larger key they sound a lot different
than like your single keys so yeah this
one being the most expensive obviously
I'm glad to see a different frame if I
all our plastic frame I would be a
little bit disappointed but I guess
let's go into the typing test this is a
very minimal keyboard I really like the
key cab color scheme I really like the
overall build quality but we got to see
what it sounds like when we're actually
typing and then compare it to the other
keyboard especially the Razer CU we're
getting really close to Razor price
point than the razor oh you can probably
do two razors for the weight of this one
so let's do a typing desk
[Applause]
well typing test complete it's nice very
nice it's very uh as as Matt described
it minimalistic so for people who are
looking for just a Sleek clean design
this is pretty cool and yeah I think it
ranks third in our list and compared to
the last keyboard we took a look at it
definitely feels much more premium and
for $10 more I think those $10 you're
spending for this entire frame and
everything is more than worth it so
before we get to the custom Bild we'll
go over our rankings here again we have
the budget King EO maker at number one
we have the rkade keyboard at number to
we have this Yuni keyboard coming in at
number three and then we have the F75 in
fourth which again is still a great
keyboard they all sound amazing but I
think just sping $10 more makes this
better than the F75 but now I got to
build a keyboard guys this comes in
around 90 bucks and we got everything we
need to build a keyboard all right guys
so we're going to build our own keyboard
real quick now we do have to preface
this comes in at right around
$95 I will say there's a good chance
that maybe the keyboard before it or
even some of the other ones might be a
little bit better if not the same as
this keyboard even though it's more
expensive because building it yourself
does add a lot of variables at play
especially with a hot swap keyboard kit
right here this is the m87 Pro V2 what
comes with RGB it is 75% which will take
our switches really nicely these are
Gator on milky yellow switches which are
prebe yellow switches out of the box
that we will slap into that keyboard and
this key cap kit is the high kit 172
keycap kit in night shade so we're kind
of going for a very blacked out keyboard
design and this is kind of like a black
and purple color scheme okay so uh off
the rip we basically get this that's um
fairly well put together it is mostly
all plastic and like I think polycarbon
um and I like that these stabilizers are
like already on there for us that was
one of my least favorite Parts is when I
remember Zach and I were first building
keyboards even the LEDs had to be
soldered on so it was over 400 solder
joints it was pretty horrible and with
hot swap obviously you at home could do
this very easily you just buy these
switches plop them in all the way across
the board plop in the key caps and
you're good to go you really just got to
make sure that the board you're getting
comes with good software if you really
care about software the board is really
where you're going to Live and Die in
terms of like how the build quality of
the keyboard is going to be these switch
is being pre-bed they're good to go you
don't have to do that and also these key
caps are solid enough key caps to wear
for 95 bucks building your own keyboard
is an option but we got to see how much
better or if it's about the same as the
other ones that are ready to go another
thing we want to make sure too is that
um when you're ordering your key caps
that you're getting the right layout or
at least close to the right layout right
profile yeah the right profile that's a
better way of putting it so shall we go
ahead and start plopping some switches
plop some switches in
all right guys so we have all our
keyboards from first to last and one
thing we do need to mention because Zach
did bring this to our attention is some
of the pricing that we did mention for
these keyboards is at the time of
purchased there's a chance that this EO
maker keyboard might be a little more
expensive if you are shopping around but
that doesn't mean you'll have other
options all these again are still under
the $130 price point of the Razer
keyboard yeah we can definitely
comfortably say that these four here are
all very much within the same category
they're all very nice they're all very
premium they're very close with each
other our custombuilt keyboard while
it's not too far behind the others just
based on the price and the fact that we
had to build it and it took quite some
time and some trial and error a little
bit lower in the tier list and then the
raser definitely Falls in its own
category falls into the category of the
typical keyboards that we would take a
look at honestly close to like the red
dragon price range of like the $50 to
$60 mechanical keyboards and we don't
want to totally disparage these top end
keyboards they normally come with more
advanced software so if you want to sync
up let's say a bunch of different
peripherals at once that's where the
advantage is with these keyboards a lot
of them again are targeting speed
switches so having much more faster
actuation versus these being more The
Artisan Style keyboards where you're
more for the enjoyment of typing and
using them these are much more for
functionality but we really think these
for gamers are even better because
you'll enjoy using it it's going to
sound really great when you use it like
an actual keyboard when you're typing
and again it's cheaper the fact that
they're cheaper really makes them a good
buy so if you want to buy any of these
keyboard from today's video check the
