mainly self-improvement often it gets

overlooked you know we always talk about

the gym or sorry about this and then I

make more money but like dressing well

seems to be something that like we kind

of overlook

in the self-improvement mail space

um and it really can change it's a

low-hanging fruit doesn't take that much

effort

um but it is dressing a lot considered

like a skill you know like a skill set

like anything else and people think

dressing well is automatically just

wearing a suit and tie everywhere you go

or

um there's so many misconceptions about

what the average person uh thinks

stressing well

um is right now so you know like I said

uh suit like uh

suit and tie everywhere you go so like

um suit and tie to the bar suit and tie

to to work suit and tie to walk your dog

you know like Barry Simpson or is it

very Simpson from How I Met Your Mother

just like is that is someone that knows

how to dress

maybe but at the same time it could be

someone that knows

does

it doesn't know because that's

all they know how to do right

um I think I have

okay I lost I lost the I lost the stream

yeah and then there's like uh

there's people that think that just

matching your shirt in your sneakers is

good enough there's people that you need

to wear shoes and sneakers are always

bad there's people that

um you know you shouldn't wear brands or

some people's like you should wear a

brand they look good

um all these things right so

um really it all boils down to like

what's appropriate for the situation

you're in

right so

um guys like every Friday I'm going to

um I'm gonna start talking about fashion

I have plenty of topics and I have a

guide that I'm working on it's taking

forever but I have a 10 000 word guide

I'm working on on how to dress well and

something that I've learned throughout

you know throughout the the years you

know I've been on fashion male fashion

blogs all that stuff so um kind of a lot

of experience and also you know I tend I

tend to like part of part of the dating

thing and looking good you know you have

to delve into the world of fashion

because you're trying to stand out right

um relativemaster has a as an article or

essay about having a look you know like

it's really hard to stand out as a man

these days so why not have a look where

you've where you fit that archetype that

women like right because they're women

are fans of like every genre of men so

if if there's women that like the biker

look you know the leather jacket the

jeans the black boots like there's women

that are super into that so if you have

that look and you have it dialed down

then you're able to attract those women

because you fill that kind of like you

know archetype of man that they have

that they're naturally attracted to

right and there's men there's women that

like the clean cut corporate look right

so

um you know you want to be you want to

have that look but be the you know have

the

um the

the tailored suit or the custom suit

everything dialed in with the nice shoes

and a nice haircut and all that stuff so

whatever archetype you are as a man

make sure that whatever you choose right

like a cowboy western corporate cleaned

up guy

um like the Johnny Depp kind of Bohemian

you know kind of

you know lots of bracelets kind of look

whatever look you go for make sure that

you're dialed in and your clothes fits

you and all that stuff it's very

important right it'll help you so much

with uh with the ladies right

um so

anyways

so why should you dress well right one

of the reasons you should dress well

um is professionalism right

um when you dress well it displays uh an

air of com competency and

um also respect for the profession right

so

if you if you have a job that you enjoy

doing and you and in an industry that

you feel fulfilled in why not look and

give that industry respect that way

people because you're a conduit for how

people look in the industry right so

um you know if you're in the military

have a clean uniform right that's I mean

obviously you teach you that right but

um having a clean uniform is you

represent the country you're from right

the United States United States Navy you

want a clean uniform any branch your

military you want clean uniform because

you you represent the United States so

you need to look your sharpest right I

think the Marines do this best I have to

say I have to give it to them they have

the cleanest like uniforms they just

look really good every time a marine

walks into a room in their dress uniform

all eyes are on them just because of how

dialed in they look right not even one

little piece of lint on their uniform

nothing they are very disciplined

um on the uniform so you know it's like

it's good to take that discipline

and then put it to other looks right so

if now you're no longer in the military

why not apply those things those same

kind of principles and discipline to how

you look in daily life that's not to say

um if you're gonna go walk your dog or

across the street you know to be to like

spend you know Iron your shirt and you

know obviously but at the same time you

don't

put on a shirt with stains on it because

you might meet somebody or you you don't

want your perception of of you to look

you know like you're a slob you know

like you don't want to go into sloth

territory right now

so

um basically professionalism overall is

one of the is is is a good reason to

dress well

right and then um confidence

uh sometimes you know guys like

putting on like putting on a pair of new

white sneakers or a nice set of shoes

that you just bought or a tailored suit

um it's hard not to feel confident in a

tailored suit it's it's built for you

you know it looks good on you it

compliments you people are looking at

you people like open doors for you

um you just feel important right

especially for guys that don't usually

wear this stuff you know but having a

tailored suit on like in your closet for

whatever thing maybe just one day you

you decide hey

hey you tell a girl hey um come

um

you know come uh come out with me wear

something really nice you show up in a

suit you know she's like wow you know

it's good and then you know you it's

just it's just a confidence it makes you

feel good right and it's not only a suit

you know it could be maybe

um you know you you wear like a Cuban

shirt and some like beach pants like I

showed on um on Twitter the other day

um and it maybe I can't impress people

in certain air Arenas but if I wore that

to like a salsa night you know it looks

good because it's just it's just me

being well dressed it I look like I know

how to dance I feel I fit that look of

the like the hot Latino guy at the salsa

night so you you kind of have that look

but also everything's dialed in uh

tailored and everything fits you well so

yeah confidence is a really big factor

in why you should dress well

um

social signals so social signals is

another

um great reason and what I mean by

social signals is what you're telling

the world with how you dress right so if

I wear a wear tailored suit

to a bar that has a dress code I'm

telling the bar like

hey

I respect this establishment I'm gonna

look good and I'm going to add to this

establishment right and you know it

happens there has been times where like

I go out with my friends and we come

back from a event or something where you

have to wear a suit and that you know we

go to a bar afterwards and then you know

you're getting better service you know

um sometimes I know there's one story

where um we got a table we got a section

right obviously it was kind of empty but

we got a section because they saw us all

well-dressed and the ladies with us were

well dressed so it's like okay these

people are adding to the atmosphere you

know they're signaling that this place

is worthy of people that look important

so we're going to put them in a section

and let them enjoy it because they're

adding to the environment right so

social signaling is important and um

also

on top of that it's not only suit and

tie like I said before it can be

anything right anything you wear like if

uh

if you go to the gym right and you wear

uh you know you don't wear a tatted you

know you don't wear like a tattered uh

tank you were kind of like clothes that

look new and stuff you're singling to

the world that like hey I

I decided to look you know I decided to

wear gym clothes that fit me I'm not but

it's in in the cases of like stuff in

the gym no one really cares that much

because everyone's there to work out and

all that stuff but in in arenas like uh

going out to the bar dinner

um a job interview a funerals places

like that it really matters how you I

know it's like you know a funeral a job

interview it's not more social it's more

professional or more you know emotional

but imagine you showing up to a funeral

and you have a well-tailored suit a

black tie you look like you respect

what is going on and that's like a

social signal so when people see you

they're like oh this person you know he

this person showed up in a suit and has

deep respect for the dead

um for the family of the deceased and

all that stuff so you want to have that

social signal that shows like hey this

person cares and this person is telling

me is trying to tell me that he cares

you know

um

all right we got uh we got Glenn in the

and sweats because I ball like that LOL

man I'm just waiting for a hoodie

weather again it's like 105 degrees wait

this weather man it's like 100 degrees

like I like wearing my hoodies

um especially my military hoodies that I

had back in the day I still have mine I

don't know if you guys uh landed I don't

know if you have your Air Force study

but my Navy hoodie is like I still

haven't found a hoodie that good

right

I wear a Ranger panties to the gym just

just to my legs Ranger panties what's

that what am I missing here

yeah so uh let me just catch up on some

noticed since my teen years that well

fitted clothes and instantly make you

attractive yeah

yeah wearing stuff that fits you guys

and going to the gym is going to help

you tremendously with that right there's

people that like if you're thin or

overweight nothing is going to fit you

well it you have to like find a special

tailor it is just not gonna but if

you're fit the only problem you'll have

is if if you have a V taper is like the

the the the the area right here you're

gonna you might have to get a shirt a

little larger for you and it might droop

a little because you know most clothes

are made for overweight men now but

other than that

um yeah well fitted clothing is like

it's a game changer

um

I've discovered that being fat really

makes your clothes look better uh I

disagree

oh

not being fat I got you yeah being being

fit is the biggest fashion statement

right before anything you have to be in

shape before you even start thinking

about dressing well

um

if you wear a well-fitted suit for women

it's like looking

at lingerie yeah

um yeah women love a man in a suit they

just can't you know it they just

especially if uh a fitted suit yeah they

love that

long sleeve tie and Blazer recall my

attention yeah anything where it just

shows that you care

yeah exactly when you when you walk in a

suit or just nice clothes that's not a

suit guys it could be just you could

just be jacked and you have these you

know these you know 22-inch guns you

know and you you're it's a it's a what

do you call it a

a black v-neck and some nice you know

nice shoes nice boots and some nice

jeans and you walk in there you know

like you're gonna come at attention just

because you you you're it's

complementing your physique you know and

you just not every not every guy can

wear v-neck guys you have to be a

certain level of fit to wear a v-neck

right so if you wear a v-neck and it

looks good dude like you already top

five percent of men dressing it you know

um

and then Baron said I've seen so many

people show up to the to court in the

wrong clothes that hurts them yeah when

you play basketball like if I if we're

playing basketball and I see you pull up

with like Asics

or I see people with like

you know like New Balances woman uh New

Balance to make basketball sneakers but

I've seen probably like Aces or Skechers

you're probably I'm probably not gonna

choose you on my team man because like

you know that's just an example right

there

tactical respect for the profession if

you look like crap always will perceive

the work you do will be crap if you

present yourself clean and well kept

then the opposite is true right and it

doesn't have to be

uh for like dressing well like it's like

have a look like roller says right like

roller goes on his streams and he

dresses like a rock star because that's

his look and he does it well you know

um but he doesn't also show up with this

shirt with juice stains on it you know

he doesn't show up like

um with no hygiene you still have to do

hygiene you still have to have clean

stuff but you have a look and the look

um

um kinda

amplifies your personality that you

already have right

I think uh I wear five inches for leg

cut off for like anything above that

that's like basketball shorts or

wear suits right

um but you have to assume because a

certain part of yourself right

um you know our suit and tie like I

wouldn't wear a suit and tie to like

was well dressed you know maybe I'd be

more relaxed because I want to show more

relaxed atmosphere like I I I'm you know

want to be more relaxed you know maybe

Paul Bauer says I'm gonna put that some

[ __ ] to the table yeah it's getting

heated guys

um

so dressing well is also important when

you're getting put through a table so

um apparently Glenn Lawrence Paul said

that you should wear uh

you should wear a nice suit because he

was that day it was going to be your

funeral but I'm not sure what he meant

by that but that's what he told me you

know

so yeah you guys uh figure that out but

guys summer smash is on it's Paul Bauer

versus Glenn Lawrence so don't miss out

it's gonna be in September

um

but yeah guys so going back to yeah so

next reason you should dress well is uh

personal satisfaction right some um

sometimes like the I guess remember

doing a pandemic people were just kind

of let themselves go they just wore

pajamas 24 7 basketball shorts 24 7. you

go to the airports now and everyone's

just like they just woke up opened their

gym drawer and just put on whatever and

went right

um there's a psychological aspect to you

putting on nice clothes once in a while

this time you have to every day like I

have days where I just put on joggers a

tank top I want my dog I do stuff and I

spend the whole day and athleisure

clothing right

um but sometimes you know when I when I

go to work or I I have a function or I

got a date I like to you know dressing

well makes me feel good and it gives me

that like yeah I it's like a

psychological eye matter I'm important

enough to where I care about my

appearance and other [ __ ] too so it's

very important during the pandemic a lot

of people kind of let themselves go and

I think that also affected them

psychologically not having anything to

dress well for so

um what I would do during the pandemic

is once in a while I would go visit my

friends and I'd be like hey tell you and

your girlfriend to like uh let's go out

let's go out do a fancy night out to a

normal bar right but we still do fancy

we're just wear you know a Blazer and

all that stuff and it helped me so much

because it you know it's just like while

everyone's letting themselves go I

decided to look nice right and it's just

a lot for me and how I dress so

so yeah guys uh that's an important

reason another reason is empowerment

um you know it can give you a sense of

uh influence and Power in a social

situation so if um

if you know and it isn't like again suit

and tie I know we talk about Suit and

Tie Suit and Tie right but in any

situation right

um It's like white guys why do guys wear

Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan jerseys

to to the basketball court right they're

trying to show you like hey I have the

skills

like uh like these obviously don't right

but it's like a empowerment thing you

know you're wearing someone a Legend's

number on your back while you play ball

it gives you that kind of like I have

good skills and you should be scared of

me

um but that's just you know that's just

one example and it's not a good example

because you don't want to wear jerseys

like outside of like athletic stuff or

maybe a sports game you know like I

would wear a match Jersey to go a Dallas

Mavericks game here uh and I have um and

I would wear uh Dallas Cowboys shirt or

hat to go see a Cowboys game right but I

wouldn't wear a Dallas Cowboys hat to go

to a fancy dinner with a girl with my

girlfriend I wouldn't do that right

there's there's a time and place for

everything

um

but

um yeah masculine empowerment also it's

like

it gives you certain kind of like uh

it's like a feeling of again like I

matter I'm you know I'm dressing well

this looks good on me I'm important and

it kind of like bleeds over to your

attitude and Persona in real time right

um so yeah

Alex says even in the Texas heat I make

myself and family dress appropriately

even to go to the HEB for grocery

shopping I do not care I don't care I

even wear jeans to go to McDonald's not

shorts and the kids will be clean yeah

it's like a dignity thing too especially

um when Latino families like my mom was

the same like no dirty clothes your

sneakers at least wipe them down you

know obviously kids are kids sneakers

they get dirty because they're always

running around but you're not gonna have

muddy sneakers

um walking around in a public place

right you're going to clean your

sneakers and wear something different

and for men too it's just like you don't

need to wear you know a button-up shirt

to go to uh to go grab to your favorite

restaurant or to go do anything right

but you do need a clean shirt you know a

clean shirt is a good start you know how

would you feel if like

someone came up to you and talk to you

or took your order and or any

interaction they had like a giant stain

um and it was not an appropriate place

you know it's just it kind of changes

your perception of that person

um

but yeah uh

so man thanks Alex

come on man podcast says my go-to's

ready tank top pajama pants and slides

okay yeah um for the gym I have it's

like for the gym it's really hard to let

go of your favorite ratty tank tops like

I guess guys we have like this

attachment to our ready tank tops I have

like three I have one that has a hole in

it I'm like oh it's about time to let

this go but it's it's so hard to let go

of your ratty tank tops for the gym you

know

um it it really because there's like

history it's like I don't know it's a

guy thing I guess

um

and then like uh reason uh another good

reason is standing out in a crowd right

and this is the one that helps you more

with the ladies right

um You Don't

um you don't need to

stand out

in the way of like dressing more

expensive or more formal right a guy

that comes in with that's jacked and

looks good at wearing a v-neck will

stand out in a group of overweight guys

and Suits right that's a way to stand

out it's not always going the formality

like looking more formal business look

it could be the other way right so if I

go to a so if I go to a function or a

bar where where a whole bunch of guys in

suits but are overweight come in there

and I'm jacked and I'm wearing a v-neck

um you know and and some well-fitting

jeans and some good shoes I will stand

out in a good way because they're like

okay this guy's more casual but also

he's like you know he's fit he's in

shape and

Persona demeanor why is he dressed like

that you know who does he think he is

for the ladies right and then if I go to

a bar where everyone is wearing a v-neck

and you know that look and I come up

with a nice fitted suit they're gonna be

like who's that guy is he the owner is

he you know who who is he you know it

happens it's just a it's a contrasting

you know you want to always stand out

for dressing better

or like different but better let's leave

it like that different but better

um

but yeah if we have Baron Gaslight for

the gym sweatpants and my Austin 316

shirt yeah um

yeah wrestling shirts are pretty cool

like I what is like

are wrestling shirts making a comeback I

haven't seen a lot of them but I like I

feel like there's a good market for like

wrestling shirts like I would wear a

shirt with like you know all the cool

characters from from WWE you know

um I guess I haven't seen a lot of them

lately but I like why why aren't people

more people wearing it maybe it's

because

Zoomers and Millennials don't haven't

watched as much wrestling

um but yeah

Alex says I wear a moisture wicking

shorts and under armor type t-shirt just

to medium and a medium sized t-shirt

that makes my chest stand out yeah there

you go you wanna you want your clothes

to compliment you and all that stuff

um

yeah uh so guys and then uh yeah like I

said respect on you respect other people

like if you if anyone if you if you guys

ever invited me to like a graduation or

God forbid a funeral or an event or a

special family event right I would show

up in a suit because that's respect I I

respect you so I want to show up and and

close that show that I respect you right

and that for me is like one of the best

reasons to dress well as a guy outside

of like attracting the ladies is is to

show respect to the people you care

about right but that's not always you

know again like if if all the boys are

going out dressed a certain way that I'm

gonna like dress like you guys but maybe

a little bit more cleaned up depending

on

how you know how tattered and everyone's

clothes are but you know if I'm going to

these events I'm going to graduation if

I go on a funeral if I'm going to a

place like that I want to dress

better

or like with a suit and uh whatever is

appropriate to that situation right

because it's a respect thing

you know

um so yeah guys that's

um
