### Introduction
These are all the A series from Samsung for 2024. The question is, Â
âWhich of these smartphones is truly worth my attention?â Well, you might be surprised by the Â
answer I'm going to give you here. Out of this entire lineup, there are only two devices that stand outâand I'll be revealing Â
those gems by the end of this video. Before then, lemme give you summary of all these devices Â
and who they fit, as so without taking much of your time, #yoohguys! Letâs get started.
### A05
Letâs start with the Galaxy A05. This phone is very basic and doesnât offer much beyond the essentials and Â
when I say that, I mean essentials in terms of the features. If we talk about accessories, Â
non of these devices come out of their boxes with chargers or extra accessories except for
the USB cable, SIM ejectors, and user guide. Priced at around $110 or N128,500, the Galaxy A05 Â
is a new budget-friendly addition to the Samsung AÂ series, offering decent specifications with 4GBÂ Â
of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. One big downside is that it doesnât even have a fingerprint scanner, Â
which is something most users expect nowadays for security. Performance isnât something Iâd Â
compared to other devices here, I mean, itâs the helio G85 from MediaTek, pretty basic performance Â
for todayâs needs. When you come over to the dual  camera setup, there is a primary 50MP lens and a Â
2MP depth sensor. The rear camera performs okay in good lighting, while the front 8MP camera Â
which is 12MP delivers lesser quality. Still with the camera here, the maximum resolution is 1080 at 60fps from the Â
rear camera. Display is quite large at 6.7â, the largest from the lineup, but an LCD maxed out at Â
60Hz refresh rate. Given its limited capabilities, the A05 might only be suitable if youâre looking Â
for a very simple device, perhaps for a young child who is using a phone for the first time. Â
If you need a phone that can handle more daily tasks seamlessly, while enjoying what it feels Â
to own a modern smartphone, this probably isnât the best choice. Maybe skip to the next device, the Galaxy A05S.
### A05S
Yes, thereâs the A05S, which is a slight step up from the A05. It adds a fingerprint Â
scanner and has a better display, but are these upgrades enough to recommend this device, Â
especially since the A15 is also available. Iâd touch on that in a bit. With $30 more, Â
that is for $140 or N183,500, you get an upgrade from the A05 to this device. Good thing here is, Â
it is powered by a snapdragon 680 processor which makes it a better performer than the A05, it comes Â
in various memory configurations, with the review unit I have being 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Â
Just like the A05, this one is also a 6.7â panel, but this time, with a higher 90Hz refresh rate, Â
making scrolls, gameplays and animations feel a little smoother. Still LCD BTW. It offers better Â
performance and additional features that make it a more versatile and practical choice for Â
everyday use. The camera on this device is a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, Â
and a 13MP from the 8MP n the A05, performance is good in well-lit conditions. In fact, Â
the difference is slightly more colorful photos, better stabilization with the Â
video recording at a maximum of 1080p and thatâs about it for the camera difference.
So, hereâs how I see this device. If your goal is to give a simple phone to a child or maybe Â
an elderly person, you might still consider the A05 to save money or put the extra cash Â
towards buying them a Samsung charger to utilize the 25W charging speed for this device. BTW, Â
all the devices on this list have support for just 25W charging speeds, and they all run a Â
5000mAH battery capacity. However, for most other people who want something that really does feel Â
like an upgrade from the A05, Iâd suggest you also skip this one for the A15, except you are Â
really on a tight budget. The A15 might just be the best value for money around the price range.
### A15
The A15 actually does shine as the star among budget smartphones. It features a Helio G99 Â
processor and a major upgrade to the display. For $200 or N255,500, the A15 provides all the Â
essential features most users need without the extra cost of high-end models, and I donât think Â
there really is a strong reason to choose a lesser model if you can afford the A15.
Talking about the upgrade to the display, while you get a slightly smaller 6.5â panel, this time Â
it is a super AMOLED panel, that still retains a 90Hz refresh rate. Blacks are really black and Â
that means a high contrast ratio. You are looking at 800 nits of brightness, which is plenty good Â
and better for outdoor under the sun use than the first 2. This has memory configurations Â
ranging from 4GB/128GB to 8GB/256GB, so really smooth user-friendly experience.
When it comes to the camera thereâs an improvement, aside the same 50MP main lens, Â
you have the introduction to a 5MP ultra-wide lens. I can tell you for sure that the camera Â
on this device does pretty well for price, and when compared to the A05s, it is definitely Â
an upgrade in terms of the picture quality. The front facing 13MP sensor maintains about Â
the same quality that matches the rear, but nothing really far from the A05s though. Video Â
recording caps at 1080p at 30fps with stabilization.
Just like other devices from here onwards, you get Android 14, and a support for 4 years of OS Â
updates into the future. If thereâs one thing to say about this device, Â
that would be that It strikes a perfect balance between affordability and functionality, Â
making it an excellent choice for the majority of users. I have no doubt that this could be the Â
best-selling smartphone for 2024. Just a recap, this It has a better display, Â
better performer with the Helio G99 chipset, which is a really good chip. Camera has improved, design Â
is a little refreshed, from the first two, and maintains a consistent look with the 25 upwards.
Iâd still let you know my favorite devices by the end of the video, Â
but before I go into the next device, and since weâre halfway, why not take out a few Â
seconds to subscribe to the channel, and type âYoohguys!â in the comment so I know youâre Â
paying attention. Iâd love to see how many of you will spell that correctly. You done? Thank you.
### A25
Moving up to the A25, things get a bit more complicated. While the A25 is definitely better Â
than the A15, featuring things like a faster screen refresh rate, from 90Hz to 120Hz on the Â
same 6.5â super AMOLED panel, Okay, a 1000 nits of brightness, which is the same as teh A35 and A55, Â
and access to 5G, it also costs about $80 more, bringing the price to $260 Â
or N355,500. This might be hard to justify, particularly because many places still donât Â
have 5G coverage and honestly, a lot of people canât tell the difference between 90Hz and 120Hz.
Those are definitely not the only improvements to the A25 if Iâm being honest, Â
you get a faster processor, the Exynos 1280, and that even translates to improvements in Â
the camera system. While maintaining the same 50MP sensor for the rear camera, Â
you get the same 13MP for the front like the A15. I can tell you that the photos Â
from this device, when compared to the A15 have better contrast and colors, Â
it also has better stabilization in terms of the video, you can now record up to 4K for the camera.
Thereâs no doubt this is the better device when compared to the A15, Â
but at what cost? I just feel that extra $80 spend wouldnât be worth it for a lot of Â
people. If you have the means to, by all means get it, but for a lot of persons, Â
itâs not worth the spend. The A15Â is just better value for money.
### A35
Then thereâs the A35, which presents itself as the best value for money within this range. It Â
offers significant improvements over both the A15 and A25, but without a very steep increase Â
in price as far as value perception for me. The main camera is still 50MP, Â
providing quality shots with way more natural processing. So, the performance is definitely Â
an improvement from the A34, you can check out my review on any of these devices on this channel, Â
I compared the A35 and A35, thereâs a better camera system, even when compared Â
to the A25. Video capabilities include stable 4K recording and the detail seemed to have improved, Â
better white balance and in general a better performance and camera than the A25.
The display on here is now a 6.6â super AMOLED display with 1000 nits of brightness Â
and 120Hz refresh rate. The more I look at these numbers, the closer I think this is to the A55. Â
For the camera side of things, 50MP main camera and a 13MP front facing sensor, Â
thereâs also an 8MP rear camera. If being totally honest, the cameras are about the Â
same quality as what youâd get on the A55, youâd barely tell a difference, Â
except for the better ultrawide in my opinion. In fact, Iâd say, if you are strongly considering the Â
A25 and do not wish to get the A15 as advised earlie, then you should get the A35 instead for Â
about $100 more. That is about $360 or N540,000. Itâs a way better investment than going for the Â
A25. Performance is way better with the Exynos 1380 which was on the A54 from last year. You Â
still get Android 14 with a promise of up to Android 18 and five years of security patches.
I actually would particularly recommend this smartphone if youâre looking for a phone Â
that performs well and has modern features without breaking the bank from this lineup.
### A55
It actually felt like I should have ended the video with A35, but we have the A55. There Â
isnât much to say about this smartphone, aside making 1 argument for it. First, Â
this is the best A series there is, yet. The top and best. If you want the best smartphone Â
in the A series lineup Samsung has to offer, go out and buy the A55 for $430, or N631,000, Â
for same 8GB/25GB memory configuration as the A35. But I canât say itâs the best value for money.
With no charger in the box, just like others, there isnât a really huge difference between Â
the A35 and A55, excluding the additional $70 increase in price, Â
you get a better processor, the all new Exynos 1480 from Samsung, okay this does perform better, Â
but thatâs about it. Displays are about the same 6.6â super AMOLED 1000 nits display, Â
they look identical with their 120Hz refresh rate, the body design are the same, even the cameras, Â
which is now a 12MP ultrawide and a 32MP front facing camera, look really similar and you might Â
not be able to tell the difference except for the ultrawide shots. I kept going back and forth Â
with the photos and couldnât tell them apart. Sometimes, I even preferred the A35 photos.
For the extra money, I think you are basically paying for the better performance and also, Â
I donât think itâs really worth that much in my opinion. Iâd rather get Â
the A35 and save the money than the best Samsung has to offer.
### Verdict/Conclusion
In summary, for those looking to spend wisely, the A15 offers all the necessary Â
features at an affordable price, making it an ideal choice when in search for Â
the best budget device here. The A25 is better enough, but I canât justify that Â
extra $100 for what it offers. So, the A15 does it for me in terms of budget.
Now, if you can spend a bit more, the A35 provides excellent features for a bit more money, Â
of course about $160 from the A15, but trust me, this represents the best value for an upgrade, Â
and over 90% identical to the A55 from this year, and even better than the best Â
A series Samsung offered last year. And the A35 would be my 2nd recommendation here. The A55, Â
although excellent and the best, is not the best value for your buck, Â
except you're not worried about the cost and want the absolute best.
Things can change if there are discounted offer, say a 30 difference in price between Â
the A25 and A15, then go for the A25 because itâs better, also if you have such discounted offer and Â
difference between the A55 and A35, then the A55 would for sure be the better of the two.
You might want to watch my review on all of these devices on my Â
channel, and also before that, leave me your thoughts in the comments, Iâd be reading. Cuidate!
