one Embrace failure I really do believe
nine out of 10 times what holds us back
from achieving all the things that we
want to achieve in life isn't even
something external it's us it's us in
our own heads worried about failing
worry about what other people are going
to think about us or say about us if we
do fail and it's ridiculous because we
learn the most while doing the thing
while making the mistakes and fixing it
right we don't learn as much sitting on
the sidelines and trying to hyper
analyze the situation and and attempt to
create the most perfect Plan before ever
taking the initiative that just holds us
back that just delays us from ever
making the progress in the first place I
used to do this all the time I used to
wait for the perfect moment I used to
wait till I had the perfect resources
and the truth of the matter is that
never came the perfect time was never a
thing I would find myself years down the
line thinking to myself why am I not
making any progress on the things that I
really want to do I know that I have
this great potential I have all these
great ideas but I'm not able to take
action on it I'm not able to actually
follow through with any of these and it
became a serious problem with myself and
I had to realize man even if I don't
have it all figured out even if I don't
necessarily know exactly what I'm doing
that's okay because I have the
confidence that no matter what comes in
my way no matter what failures there are
I'm going to learn from it I'm not going
to take it so seriously I'm going to
take it for what it is a learning
experience right and failure is such a
funny word it's not something so
detrimental right the only time a
failure is a real loss in your life is
if you give up if you embrace the
failure and continuously learn from it
you'll be better from it and if you were
to take two individuals right one person
that is willing to be bold in the failur
and the other person that never wants to
ever make a mistake who do you think 3
years down the line will actually have
more success in their lives who do you
think will progress the most obviously
the one that's willing to make the
mistakes right because that person is
willing to experiment that person's
willing to put themselves out there that
person is willing to actually take
action right if you can take on that
mindset the earlier you can do it the
better because if you take on that
mindset at the age of 16 right and you
practice with that type of mindset if
you find yourself having this great idea
and instead of trying to create this
perfect plan you just take the step to
do it and you follow through with it and
you continue to learn from it a year
down the line two years down the line
three years down the line it just
becomes like a habit of yours right it
just becomes something that that you
don't even second guesss you don't even
think about how having all of your eggs
in order right is that the same you know
what I mean you don't worry about that
because you're like you know what I'm
going to start it and if I make the
mistakes I'll learn from it and I'll fix
it those are the type of people that are
going to get ahead and I'm very lucky
that I realized that but I wish that I
learned that earlier so if you're
listening to me right now put yourself
out there it doesn't have to be perfect
it doesn't have to be polished you don't
have to know exactly what you're doing
there will never be a perfect time there
will never be a perfect moment it's up
to you to just take action and learn
from it lesson number two prioritize
relationships quality over quantity
though when I was younger I really cared
so much about what other people thought
about me I thought that being popular
was all there was to life and I would go
out of my way to be light light right to
do things that pleased other people I
thought that having a ton of friends was
my value right but something
really serious happened in my life my
parents got divorced and it was bad
divorce right and our family went
through a lot how many of those people
actually cared about me how many of
those people actually cared to send me a
message and how many of those people
came over and encouraged me in such a
difficult time like that right none none
of those people that I thought was so
important to me back then the truth of
the matter is you don't need a 100 good
friends you only need a few that you can
actually count on have genuine
relationships with and when can find
those individuals it's up to you to
learn how to selflessly have that
relationship right selflessly not
selfishly not trying to extract from the
relationship not trying to take
advantage of that but no genuinely
offering up yourself to them right if
they need something from you if they are
going through a tough time are you there
are you checking in on them are you
encouraging them right because they'll
do the same for you in those moments and
those are the only people that actually
care about you and that actually matter
in general because if you just are
surrounded by a ton of people that
actually becomes more of a distraction
than anything else right cuz you can't
give yourself selflessly to 100 people
you just can't and you start faking your
relationships you start doing things
that you don't necessarily even want to
do that aren't even important to you but
you're just trying to satisfy other
people it just becomes a headache it
just becomes something where you're not
actually gaining value you're not
actually adding value to your life at
all through these relationships it it's
just becoming a detriment it it's just
taking away from you learn to Value
relationships because we're social human
beings we need people around us but not
think about quantity really think about
okay these people are screwing you over
if these people are being bad to you
don't be afraid of making that line
saying hey this is a boundary of mine
you've crossed it I'm good with you I
don't need to continuously to interact
with you if you're showing to me that I
don't matter to you right instead Focus
your attention on those individuals that
do care about you learn to cultivate
those relationships deep in those
relationships and those are the
relationships that will actually matter
so Embrace relationships and prioritize
those relationships but the quality
matters okay not so much the quantity
lesson number three Follow Your Passion
no matter what people say about you okay
I'm telling you when I first started
doing social media I got judged so much
I started when I was was in the end of
my freshman year in college I've never
done social media before but it was
obvious how many people were using my
initiative as a joking point it would be
the Hot Topic anytime all my friends
would gather and they would just talk
about oh June's trying to be like an
influencer or something of that sort and
at first it hurt right cuz these are
people that are supposed to matter to
you these are people that's supposed to
be encouraging you but they're calling
it cringey they're making you feel bad
about yourself and it's heartbreaking
and I bet you've probably experienced
something similar to this but the truth
is and something that that I've had to
learn is if they're judging you if
they're making fun of you if they're
teasing you if they're bullying you I
guarantee they're doing less than you
100% it'll never be somebody doing more
than you it's not going to be somebody
that has more success than you that are
going to be making those condescending
remarks as you try and put yourself out
there and take on a new initiative that
matters to you why because those people
understand that everyone has a starting
point and they'll actually admire you
taking that step because it's not an
easy step and they've also experienced
people making fun of them your passions
are yours they're unique to you they're
your calling right don't care what other
people are going to say about you and
actually I've experienced that my whole
life right following your passions and
listening to that and leaning more into
that than caring too much about what
other people have to say even when I was
in my Junior and Senior year of high
school I would get judged all the time
for not going out on Fridays and not
going out on the weekends and they would
call me Church boy they would say things
of that sort because I would go to
church a lot they had no idea what I was
going through they had no idea what I
was experiencing what I was seeing I was
seeing my dad working tirelessly at his
Contracting Job 14 hours a day and still
struggling to put food on the table for
us I saw that with my own eyes you think
I care about a party you think I care
about what you guys are doing and
drinking and and partying and things of
that sort you think that matters to me
no that doesn't matter to me I don't
care what you guys are doing because I
have other things that are important to
me I've realized really early on man I
have other opportunities that my
siblings and my parents definitely
didn't have I have those opportunities I
might as well take full advantage of
them and I will put my I I took this
onto my own shoulders at a very young
age I knew that I was going to be the
most successful and I knew that it was
going to be up to me to be able to take
care of my family one day financially I
knew it and so that was a passion of
mine right and so on the weekends I was
building something for myself I was
trying to develop those high value
skills I was trying to learn as much as
possible I was trying to put myself away
from the people that were constantly
distracting me you fast forward six
seven years down the line it's those
same people that used to judge me all
the time they're looking at me and
saying hey I I've always been rooting
for you from afar I've been supporting
you I love what you do um you want to
catch up you know how many texts I get
like that on a daily basis all the time
but you have to think to yourself I
don't even have hard feelings for those
people right I never took it personally
it's just that my passions are my
passions my values are my values I'm
going to be at a place in life
eventually that those values embody
right those values will give me a life
those passions will give me a life that
I want right and I'm not going to
apologize for it in the midst of doing
that even if it doesn't fit into the
mold of what you think that I should be
doing follow your passions okay because
I I promise you when you are 21 22 23
it's cute to be going out all the time
it's cute to um be drinking with your
friends and to be partying and and your
biggest problem being what you're going
to wear the weekend to impress your
crush or whatever that's all cute when
you're at that age okay but when you're
by the time you're like 26 27 and all
you have gone for yourself are these
parties and your constant still going it
ain't cute anymore what's cute is being
financially stable what's cute is having
a job that you love what's cute is being
able to provide for your family it's
cute to have enough money to be able to
be married and then have children like
that's cute like being far in life when
you're at the age of 26 27 that that's
cute that's good that's what you want
you don't want to be stuck in the
situation where you're regretting
following everyone else because you were
afraid of the Judgment of the failures
that were going to come with it no cuz
those people that are judging you and
that are making fun of you or things of
that sort aren't going to be there with
you when it's 26 and 27 it's really hard
and you're alone and you're by yourself
and you're upset and you're getting the
situation of oh my gosh I'm I'm I'm now
graduated I have all these loans and I
don't know what to do with my life and
I'm so stressed I'm so they're not going
to be there for are you I can't tell you
how many people that I'm very close with
that have experienced that that are now
old enough where they're feeling the
repercussions of the decisions that
they've made when they were younger you
know when they were caring so much about
what they other people had to say when
when they more afraid of what other
people were going to say about their
Endeavors or their initiatives or
whatever goals or aspirations or
passions that they had so they decided
to not even take any step forward and
now they're old enough where they have
all these responsibilities and thinking
now I don't know what to do I don't know
if I'm willing to take that step now
it's even more scarier than ever because
I have so much more on the line right
when you get older so follow your
passions don't listen to what anyone
else has to say about you it frustrates
me so much because I've experienced this
all throughout my life right people are
going to judge you they're going to make
fun of you it's okay it's okay I'm
telling you looking at me right now it's
okay follow your passion I guarantee
you're going to be the person few years
down the line where people are going to
want to be like you right people are
going to want to be friends with you and
people are going to regret what they
said about you lesson number four
practice gratitude there's so much
negativity in our world so much
negativity the moment you open up your
phone the moment you step outside
there's going to be people yelling at
each other there's going to be people
lying to you shortcutting each other
there's going to be people making fun of
each other there's going to be on social
media people that are toxic that are
saying things to make you feel insecure
negativity is all around us in our world
today you know how to coat your mind you
know how to create this armor on your
mind you know how to make sure that
negativity never seeps through it's
through gratitude it's being grateful
for the things that you already have you
get that it's not things that you want
it's not things that you feel like
you're going to be happy if you get them
no it's the things that you currently
have it's the food on your table it's
the clothes that you have it's the
opportunities that are in front of you
be grateful for what you have even in
the midst of such hard times there are
things to be grateful for right and the
more gratitude you can have the more you
protect your mind from the negative ity
and it doesn't allow it to penetrate as
much as it normally would every time I'm
out in public and I'm with my friends
and stuff people always say hey June
like how are you so positive how are you
able to um be smiling all the time and
be so happy be so jolly it's not that I
don't experience a lot of these negative
things in life I do I do I do I've
experience a lot there's been a lot of
sickness in my family a lot of things
that that have made it really hard but I
am grateful I am grateful for what I do
have and if I can start my mornings with
some sort of gratitude through my
journaling sessions when I walk out of
that door I'm a much more positive
person I'm somebody that can smile that
can laugh that can experience the
moments of Life fully because I'm not
constantly thinking about the things
that I wish were better right so be
grateful for what you do have practice
gratitude on a regular basis lesson
number five be open to change be willing
to adapt okay I've learned pretty darn
quickly it's those that are stagnant
that are so stuck in their own ways the
market will do what it does and kick
them out of their spot right cuz you see
you might have some sort of luck you
might have some good fortune you might
have stumbled your way across some
success but those temporary successes
aren't what you're trying to achieve you
want to achieve longevity right that's
true success being able to actually
build a legacy for yourself actually be
able to sustain that level of success is
and should be your goal but the only way
you can can do that is if you can
continuously adapt if you can
continuously evolve even when you think
about content creation right it's like
the most basic form of this if I was to
create the exact same content ever since
I started and stayed that way up to now
do you think I would have grown as much
as I have right do you think that I
would have been able to impact and and
send my message to as many people as I
would have wanted if I've done that no
it's because everything around us is
constantly evolving right we have new
technologies we have new ways of
communication we have new forms of
marketing we have new ways of
experiencing new events right all of
this is entirely new to us and if you're
not evolving constantly if you're not
willing to adapt and to change and to
make mistakes while doing that you're
going to stay where you are you're not
going to be able to actually sustain
that level of success stop thinking that
you know it all okay stop having this
arrogance about you it's okay that you
have to change something it's okay that
what you thought was perfect wasn't
perfect it's okay to adapt it's actually
those people that can adapt and it goes
back to our first point about embracing
failure that are actually able to have
that level of success the magnitude in
which they want it and for the duration
that they want it for as well lesson
number six manage your time wisely we
all have 24 hours in a day so it's not
about having more of that right I hear
this all the time it's oh I would do
this if I had more time I would work out
if I had more time I would love to start
business if I had more time I would love
to try and do social media if I had the
time I would love to get better grades
if I had more time I would love to take
more advanced classes if I had more time
no that's not what it's about it's about
can you manage your time more
efficiently so you can fit in all the
things that are value to you right
that's what matters actually and you
have to take some necessary steps here
one prioritize the things that are
important to you first because if you
are caught up with things that aren't
even important to you things that are
just distracting you then yeah you won't
have enough time for things that
actually do matter but then two learn
how to do those things efficiently so
that you can manage your time to the
point in which you'll have success with
all those different Endeavors
consistently at the same time and three
be able to have some sort of plan for
yourself right be able to
prospectively create a calendar a
strategy whatever it may be for yourself
where you separate yourself in the
battle between the mind and the body
what do I mean by this whenever we make
decisions and we make a lot of these
decisions on a daily basis we go through
these battles our bodies want to keep us
stagnant it wants to keep us where we're
at it doesn't want to do something
difficult while our minds know that we
should be doing something right this is
why we fail to go to the gym this is why
we procrastinate on our work because our
minds know that we have to do it but our
body's like no we're chilling you have
to manage your time better in the sense
where if you can create a schedule for
yourself prospectively you remove
yourself from that internal pressure
right you create a schedule for yourself
or a strategy it really depends on how
you want to go about it I've done it in
multiple ways but whatever it does
whatever you decide to do you just do it
before you actually take the event or do
the event and then you know what to do
right like you can follow whatever
schedule strategy you create for
yourself to a te without ever having to
go through the decision fatigue without
ever having to contemplate oh should I
actually do this no you know that you
should be doing it because you created
that schedule before you had the event
out in front of you and so managing your
time efficiently and effectively is so
imperative managing your time I think
it's something that is cliche but I
think maybe because it's cliche people
aren't taking it so seriously I can't
tell you how much it boggles my mind
that some of my friends that are at our
level at University right cuz we're all
in our final years and are all like
trying to do um job applications or
looking to um start businesses for
themselves don't have a schedule it it
just I I don't I don't understand it
because how how are you able to stay
consistent with the things that you have
to do if you don't plan at least a
little bit for what you got going on
right like how do you be present for
those people counting on you if they
don't even know when you're going to be
available how do you know if you're
making progress on your life if you
haven't created some sort of system to
manage and to reflect on what you've
done and be able to continue adding more
time to things that you need more time
for right like how how it's
manage your time better okay learn how
to do that even if it takes you some
experimentation of learning like what's
the best way to schedule for myself
what's the best way to create a strategy
for myself that learning experience that
learning curve will be well worth it
because you'll be able to get so much
more done you'll be much more consistent
you'll be much more disciplined you'll
have a lot more success later down the
road if you're able to do that on a
consistent basis lesson number seven
take care of your health it's funny
because people asked me how do you have
time for the gym I just recently started
playing flag football with my friends
and um we play Friday nights people ask
me okay I thought you were really busy
with all of your work and and how are
you having time to fit in going to the
gym and training and and staying in
shape and the truth of the matter is is
if I wasn't to do those things I would
have more time to develop my businesses
and to be able to do better in school
and to have more time for any type of
initiative that I that I have going on
that's true but guess what I'm grateful
for the success that I have now but
again longevity is the name of the game
right you want to be able to have
success over a sustained period of time
you want to be able to build a legacy
you want to be able to see yourself in 5
years 10 years 15 years down the line
and still have the same level of energy
that you do now at the age of 22 right
you want to be able to do that but if
you're not taking care of your health if
you're not taking care of your body
those things catch up those those things
really do catch out and I I've seen this
so many times where a lot I have a lot
of older friends I think that um I've
just natur always gravitated towards
older friends and and I think that I
resonate with them better and I've seen
this happen to them so many times now
cuz now they're like 27 or 28 they're
feeling the ramifications of not having
the high energy or the high metabolism
that they naturally had when they were
younger right because they never built
the habits to take care of themselves
and now it's catching up to them that's
not what I want I want to be able to
have this ability to last longer right
because when when it does come to the
point in which I don't actually have it
if I can have the habits to continuously
put myself in those good situations the
better off that I'll be don't just think
about the now think about what are you
going to be like a few years down the
line right and how are you able to
sustain that level of success and that
matters in terms of being physically fit
right it matters in terms of being
mentally fit so take care of your health
lesson number eight never stop learning
I think this is where people border this
line of being confident and then being
arrogant and this is where people
experience a lot of issues when they
fall into the Arrogant side because when
you're arrogant you think that you know
it all right you think that there's
nowhere for you to grow anymore and so
you're not even willing to listen to
other people you're not willing to
listen to other ideas you're not willing
to listen to the guidance of others and
you have to realize that for you to be
considered a master at something right
for you to like really know what you're
talking about you need to have a lot of
experience okay if you've done something
for a few years short you might have
some confidence that that you know what
to do and how to do it properly but are
you a true Master at it probably not
right and if you can continuously learn
and evolve if you can continuously take
criticism and feedback and take that
into your system and process it and be
able able to execute it better the next
time you go about it that is much better
in terms of sustaining that success it's
much better in terms of having that
longevity but it's not easy right I
think people get into this mindset of oh
I made it or oh I made x amount of money
or I've had x amount of success they
lose that desire to improve and then
again the market is going to do what it
always does and it's going to have
somebody take that place of that
individual really quickly you don't want
that to be you have that learning
mindset have that beginner's mindset
think that yeah I might have had some
success but the reason why I had that
success is because I learned a lot right
like I had some good resources I had
people that that were willing to help me
that were willing to teach me and and I
picked up on those things I was willing
to put myself in uncomfortable
situations and I figured things out and
I learned from those experiences so why
stray away from what's worked
continuously have that type of mindset
never stop learning Embrace that
beginner mindset always lesson number
number nine practice kindness and
empathy so many times when we're on this
self-development journey we think that
it's just about us we get lost in the
fold of just thinking about me me me me
me me when in reality it's okay can I
now that I'm learning how to develop
myself how can I start to spread this
level of kindness and spread this level
of empathy to those people that might be
struggling that are experiencing things
that I've experienced how can I help
them in their Journeys that is so much
more fulfilling than just doing
everything for yourself because the
reality of the matter is the thing that
we can always guarantee in life is that
something in life will come your way
that's much bigger than you and if
everything that you do is for you you
will not be able to overcome it it's
going to shatter everything that you
think that you know about life because
everything's centered around you no
we're very lucky to be here we're very
fortunate in our lives to be in the
opportunities and the situations and the
experiences that we have we're lucky all
of that can be taken away anytime now
right it's not just about us it's about
the people that we can impact it's about
can you spread kindness It's about can
you be empathetic to those people that
might be struggling along the way can
you reach out at hand and bring them
along in the journey practice that like
like learn how to do that and for a long
time I've always had this dream of mine
after I finished college to go back into
missionary work right and to do that for
extensive periods of time I've done
missionary work in the past and the
reason why I want to go back to it is
because there's no experience quite like
it in my life there isn't anything like
being there for people and to help
people that are less fortunate than you
right can you take the things that you
were blessed and lucky and fortunate to
experience in life utilize those whe
whether it's resources that you've been
able to have and create or whether it's
new knowledge you're able to create and
be able to spread that to people that
might have not had those luxuries as you
had I I I know that it sounds weird it
sounds like that's something that we'll
do later down in the road and it's like
once I make x amount of money then I can
start that type of practicing kindness
and volunteering my time and money and
whatever the case may be but no it it
really does not matter whether you're
having x amount of money or x amount of
influence it's something that you can do
right now you can start at a small scale
but help the other people that might
need it right it goes such a long way in
terms of not only what it can do for
those people but what it can do for you
it can give you a lot of Direction and
Clarity it can it can help you figure
out what's of actual value to you so if
you can somehow develop yourself on a
daily basis to partake in actions that
serve others on a daily basis I really
do think it'll be really beneficial for
you something that I've taken on for
myself um for
the last few years and it certainly made
a difference so learn how to do that
learn of its importance and practice
that kindness and empathy on a
consistent basis okay with that being
said those were the nine lessons that
I've learned those are the nine lessons
that I've been able to take into my life
and apply and things that I wish that I
knew earlier so if you learned from this
