Q & A
What are the key needs that make ink tank printers useful?
-Ink tank printers are useful for those who print frequently, require large quantities (about 300 or more prints per month), need high-quality prints, require photo prints, or require color prints.
Why might monochrome ink tank printers not be cost-effective?
-Monochrome ink tank printers are almost as expensive as color printers, and it only makes sense to buy them if you don't want color at all and want to avoid spending on color cartridges.
What is the difference between single function and multifunction printers?
-Single function printers only print, without scanning or copying capabilities, and are cheaper than multifunction printers. Multifunction printers include additional features like scanning and copying.
Why is Wi-Fi support important for a printer in modern times?
-Wi-Fi support is important because it facilitates easier mobile printing, making it convenient for users to print from various devices without needing a direct connection.
What is auto duplex printing and why is it useful?
-Auto duplex printing allows a printer to automatically print on both sides of the paper, which is useful for saving paper and is a must for those who frequently print documents.
What does an auto document feeder (ADF) do and why is it beneficial?
-An auto document feeder allows a printer to scan multiple pages automatically, which is beneficial for official or legal businesses that need to scan many documents efficiently.
What is print resolution and why is it important for photo printing?
-Print resolution refers to the detail a printer can produce, measured in DPI. It is crucial for photo printing as higher resolutions (above 1200 x 1200 DPI for home use, and above 1440 x 2880 DPI for professional use) result in better image quality.
How is print speed measured and why does it matter for large print jobs?
-Print speed is measured in pages per minute (PPM) or images per minute (IPM), with IPM being a more comprehensive measure as it includes both text and graphics. It matters for large print jobs because it affects the time it takes to complete bulk printing tasks.
What does the cost per page indicate and which brand offers the lowest cost per page according to the script?
-The cost per page indicates the average cost of printing one page. According to the script, Brother has the lowest cost per page for both black and white and color prints.

Transcripts
ink tank printers are useful if you have
one or more of these needs one you print
frequently two you print in large
quantities about 300 or more prints per
month three you require high quality
prints four you require photo prints
five you require Color Prints if you
don't need Color Prints monochrome
printers are sufficient there are very
few monochrome ink tank printers and
from a pricing point of view it does not
make sense to buy these as they are
almost as expensive as color printers it
only makes sense if you don't want color
at all and don't want to spend on the
color cartridges next is the single
function versus multifunction
essentially single function printers are
printing only printers no scanning no
copy so if you in don't intend to scan
documents or photos at all then consider
a single function printers they are
cheaper than multi-function printers
within the same brand except rather All
Brands have at least one single function
in tank printer incidentally brother has
at least one multi-function printer that
costs lower than these single function
printers next and one of the most
important distinctions in my opinion is
if the printer supports Wi-Fi or not in
this day and age I highly recommend
getting a printer with Wi-Fi as it makes
mobile printing so much easier the base
models of all brands do have a no Wi-Fi
version and these are the least
expensive printers within a specific
brand if you print on both sides
frequently then autod duplay is a must I
find this capability extremely useful if
you do a lot of document printing mostly
only top end models of the four Brands
Canon Epson brother and HP have autod
duplay printing in addition monochrome
intank printers primarily used for
document printing only like the Canon
2070 and 4070 do include autod duplate
if you are using your printer for
official or legal business you may have
a need to scan multiple documents as
well that's when an auto document feeder
or the ADF capability is useful in
Printers again only topend models of ink
tank printers that are used for document
printing and scanning do have ADF next
you have to consider the print
resolution now this is particularly
useful when you intend to use the
printer especially for photo printing
anything above 1200 X 1200 DPI is good
for home use and and above 1440 and 2880
DPI is required for professional use all
Epson printers have 1440 x 5760 DPI so
best for photo use followed by Brother
hpn Canon the two Canon monochrome
printers have a lower DPI 600 by 1200
DPI which is more than enough for
monochrome document printing the Epson
8050 is the best for photo printing
purposes including printing on different
media ID card CDs and so on next you
have to consider the print speed if
you're doing just a oneoff print or just
a few prints this does not matter so
much but if you're printing in large
quantities at once it's important to
keep the print speed in mind print speed
is generally measured in pages per
minute or images per minute while IPM is
a better measurement overall as it
includes not only text but also Graphics
in the test not every brand publishes
IPM So based on the available
information Epson has the fastest Texton
printing brother has the fastest Text
Plus Graphics printing capability and HP
printers are the slowest overall now
different printers have different sized
cartridges so it's difficult to rightly
identify the cost per page however All
Brands these days also publish the cost
per page for their printers so amongst
the brands compareed brother has the
lowest cost per page for both black and
white and Color Prints warranty for all
printers is one year printers without
Wi-Fi are the cheapest intank printer
starting at around 11,000 and as they
add capabilities like ADF autod dup play
multifunction printers become more
expensive based on all these parameters
my top recommendations for ink tank
printers are from two brands predom
prominently because of much better print
quality and speeds at an affordable
price point if you're looking for a
fully loaded printer that includes print
scan photo prints Auto dupl and auto
document feeder for general home and
small office usage then I recommend the
brother t820 DW the pricing of this
model has significantly gone down since
I last reviewed inktank printers but
still offers one of the best printing
quality the inbuilt cartridges offer
72,000 prints in black and 5,000 print
in color has the lowest cost per page
reasonably good print resolution at
1200X 6,000 DPI and one of the best
printing speeds amongst the brands
compar brother does have a newer version
of this printer but for the same
specifications the price is almost 5,000
more if you generally perform single or
a few prints or scans only then you
really don't need the auto duplay or the
ADF capabilities I have two
recommendations for you again my first
recommendation is the brother t42 6w it
has all the capabilities including Wi-Fi
but does not include autod du play and
ADF it has a very low print cost and
high print speed second only to EPS but
it does support only 220 GSM paper which
is the lowest in the printers compa so
it's good enough for regular prints and
regular photo prints but not very thick
photo paper there is again a newer model
the brother t525 w at a much higher
price point but this only adds an LCD
display so consider that if an LCD
display is important for if photo
printing is a priority then I recommend
the Epson l3250 Epson offers the best
print resolution of 1440 by 5 5760 DPI
good for photo printing it also supports
a higher paper thickness of 256 GSM now
if you're really really on a budget and
don't need Wi-Fi you can consider the
entry-level models of brother and Epson
brother t226 and or the Epson l130 but
the pricing is not very much lower so I
highly recommend you to go for one with
Wi-Fi if you have a special Focus for
photo and multimedia printing then I
recommend the Epson
l850 it supports printing on ID card CDs
and other media but remember since it is
a specialty photo printing printer it is
a single function printer that is no
scanning and no copy and also print
speeds are quite slow to give you a good
photo printing quality now my personal
printing requirements are in general
quite low so I use a laser printed
instead for convenience do consider
