Q & A
What is the purpose of conducting crash tests as described in the video?
-Crash tests are conducted to thoroughly examine vehicles, such as cars, boats, or airplanes, for safety by simulating accidents. This helps in understanding how accidents occur, the aftermath of crashes, and improving safety standards.
What types of clients usually request crash test services for accident reconstruction?
-Clients for accident reconstruction typically include insurance companies and courts. They commission experts to conduct these tests to understand the specifics of accidents, which assists in legal and insurance assessments.
Why are crash tests considered valuable despite their high costs?
-Despite the high costs of conducting crash tests, they are valuable because they provide crucial data on how accidents occur and their impact. This information is significant, especially when the legal and medical expenses associated with severe injuries can reach millions. Thus, the cost of a crash test is relatively small in comparison.
How are vehicles prepared for a crash test to avoid environmental hazards?
-Vehicles are completely drained of all fluids, including coolant, transmission oil, engine oil, and fuel, to prevent environmental hazards like oil spills during the crash test.
What technology is used to control the cars during the crash tests?
-The cars are controlled using an intricate cable pulley system. This system allows the vehicles to be guided at precise speeds and trajectories for the tests.
How do crash test dummies contribute to the testing process?
-Crash test dummies are designed to mimic human response to impacts, providing valuable data on potential injuries. Advanced dummies can simulate the weight, movement, and even the breakage of bones like real humans, enhancing the accuracy of injury predictions in crashes.
What happens to the vehicles and dummies after a crash test?
-After a crash test, vehicles are documented and analyzed for damage, then disposed of. Dummies undergo a 'technical autopsy' where damaged parts are identified and replaced as needed. This process helps in refining safety designs and features in vehicles.
What is the role of high-speed cameras in crash tests?
-High-speed cameras record the crash from multiple angles, providing detailed slow-motion footage. This helps in accurately analyzing the dynamics of the crash, the performance of safety features, and the effectiveness of vehicle structures during impact.

Morgen was macht ihr genau hier beim
Crash Test Service wir fahren Versuche
zur Unfallrekonstruktion und fahren
jetzt unter anderem Crashtest für
Rückhaltesysteme an Straßen
antiterrorsysteme und hier
in der Nachbarhalle da bauen wir unsere
eigenen crashest dami was steht heute
unterflur
großen LKW die Anlage stramm ziehen was
gar nicht so richtig realisiert was
ganz okay heil aus was würdest du sagen
war der Test jetzt erfolgreich ja wir
wollten eigentlich eine größere
Überdeckung treffen ja das hat nicht
funktioniert weil der VI hat ist
angefangen zu tanzen wir wen noch nicht
g ganz genau warum aber die Aufgabe
heute ist ja gewesen die beiden
Fahrzeuge gegeneinander zu fahren so
dass sie kaputt sind und das ist
zumindest sehr gut gelungen hätte man
dem Test also was muss jetzt hier alles
vergleichen und was passiert jetzt genau
wird also aufgeschnitten letztendlich
Dummy sieht dann entsprechend hier so
Weichteil Gewebe entsprechend abgenommen
eurer Werkstatt stellt hier
verschiedenste Dummis her von Hühnern
wurd
z.B zur Nachstellung eines kirmisunfalls
verwendet also in so einem kirmiswagen
ist jemand schwerst verletzt der
entsprechend dieses Körpergewicht hatte
und das können wir entsprechend alles
[Musik]
solche Unfälle zu vermeiden was passiert
jetzt noch weiter jetzt werden da die
verschiedenen Teams diese rescue teams
noch die Dummys herausholen ein Dummy
liegt unter dem Hinterrad von dem LKW
ein Dummy sitzt noch im Renault kangu
also im Transporter und die müssen jetzt
alle noch rausgeholt werden war auf
jeden Fall super interessant hier mal so
