finished a sneaky little frostline
stream and released a blog post so in
this we're going to go over the many new
map details that we have for secal look
at the changes to insulation variants
why it might be difficult to get water
on this map and why blizzards are going
to be much deadlier than we first
imagined a great change coming to
seasonal gear in Day Z is how spring
summer autumn and winter variant
clothing will now have different
insulation values not just different
colors so winter Hunter variant gear for
example will now increase the insulation
that you have on your character because
it is winter it's designed for cold
conditions whereas summer Hunter gear
has lower insulation values and allows
you to wear this gear in hot condition
still with these changes comes loot
changes for this gear depending on the
map that you're on so on Leonia for
example which is supposed to be a hotter
map the spring and summer variants are
going to spawn more often on chus Autumn
is to spawn more often and the winter
variants will spawn more often on the
yet to be released sakal we got some
footage of sakal while wearing the full
winter gear this is from the developers
they were in light blue temperature
during the day while not wet so a cow
looks like it's going to be a really
cold map in which we'll probably be
forced to make fires to stay alive
especially as we'll be getting wet on
this map if we travel on the ice sheets
but also because there's a new
temperature icon for extremely cold
conditions
while climbing across some of these ice
sheets it started to snow which quickly
turned into a fullon blizzard within
around 10 minutes so it's clear skies
and then fill on blizzard in around 10
minutes this blizzard when the devs got
out of the water made the temperature
icon turn flashing blue which looks to
be a new stage of low temperature that
we've not seen before this flashing blue
icon it used to be in Daisy a long time
ago but we haven't seen it for a long
time now seeing as a standard dark blue
temperature icon still drains your
health in this patch as t Don chos it
may mean that this new flashing blue
icon drains your health significantly
more and we will be forced to hide from
these snowstorms which FYI has Thunder
now due to this version of the play test
the developers Run is 1.27 it could be
that 1.27 introduces a flashing blue
icon because 1.26 I was completely
unable to achieve such a low temperature
to get the flashing blue icon blue is
the lowest that we can currently get in
the game we just have to wait and see
what this flashing blue icon does but it
looks like at the very least it would
drain Health on top of this icy new info
from the boat teaser we got we saw that
there's many gaps in the ice sheets and
from the new footage we have on the
latest stream we saw that the ice sheets
from this island also have many gaps but
now we have footage right up close and
personal with these ice sheets and we
can see that these sheets are not going
to be easy to cross in fact they might
be dangerous to cross just getting on to
one of these look difficult perhaps
because the ice sheets don't move but
the water level does so so sometimes you
might not be able to jump on top of them
and traveling across them might be
difficult due to how you'll be getting
drenched constantly from swimming
between the many gaps that there are
these gaps are put in place I'm guessing
to allow boats to pass through however
these sheets do allow us to create fires
on them to warm up you can drop the
fireplace and then light it and warm up
and dry your clothes but for now we
cannot Place tents on here and you
cannot build bases on these ice sheets
either in the future they did say that
they're going to allow us to do that but
for now it looks like you're going to be
very cold still whether or not
fireplaces will be enough to warm you up
we don't know if they're not then
traveling across these ice sheets might
be quite dangerous including these
sheets the map size is now 105 km
squared up from 83 km squ which is the
map size of tooa but if you include how
boats allow us to technically get
everywhere on the water you could say
that this is the same size as chus but
the cool stuff and the loot will only be
within 83 squ km the land mass which is
100 less than the land mass of ch on the
land mass of sakal then we have a
confirmed max player count of 45 players
which means official servers will have
45 as a maximum instead of 60 as a cap
with chernos having 60 players to 180
Square km of land mass or one person
every 3 Square km per full server Saka
on the other hand has one person every 2
square km and a lot more choke points so
as a rough guess I would say that you're
going to meet players twice as often as
Saka compared to chos if the layout of
sakal remains roughly the same as tooa
which we also got some confirmation of
that it will be the case in the form of
the new terrain Builder from the
screenshot of the most recent blog this
one here showing off the new terrain
Builder we have confirmation of the
runway of tooa not only being on TOA but
most likely having decent loot too it
doesn't have the same layout as tooa has
a new one which is going to be similar
or more similar to churner us most
likely having the same buildings too and
buildings are what spawn loot in Daisy
so this area here in this south of the
main island is likely going to be a good
military area to gear up this new tool
will allow moders to search for items to
build Maps faster and includes a lot of
optimization which will release with
frostline unfortunately we still don't
have an exact date for frostline with my
guess being late October early November
this year so probably within a couple of
months we also got some sneak peek Town
names on Reddit which is badly
translated by me as clear sea swamp
North Sea forest mountain and VTO this
means we could see a collab between Road
of vostock and Daisy in the future as
Road of vostock is Survival game too but
it's single player and it's yet to be
released with VTO if nothing else
meaning East in Russian we saw a new
interior in daylight using several new
assets that we haven't seen before and
the house being a different color too
and finally while walking on the ice
sheets we noticed that there's no
Footprints at all so it could be that
vehicles are the only thing that leaves
tracks behind in the snow and we got a a
first look at a frozen pond as well we
have seen a frozen lake but seeing a
frozen pond strongly hints that all
water sources like lakes ponds and
rivers everywhere on the map will be
Frozen as this Pond right here is right
next to the ocean so it's at sea level
this is going to be one of the warmest
areas of the map whether or not we'll be
able to melt this ice or cut through it
to get the water is yet to be confirmed
but it looks like the only way to get
clean water without using medicine or
using a filtering bottle on snow we'll
be using the water sources and new
