Transcripts
then you could always Uh refer your
results for example we we have what you
call your Uh Panic values especially
when you encounter Panic values in
certain laboratory test we would always
refer that to our pathologist who would
always have the last say before We'll be
able to release any results again
Uh problems that would arise in the
clinical laboratory will greatly depend
on the type of problem the complexity
and how you'll be able to handle this
again there are certain laboratories
that are ISO certified they will always
have what you call your
Uh risk Management and there are certain
procedures for you to be able to avert
eventualities that could occur during
the performance of virtu again It's a
very very general
Question that would be difficult to
answer
specifically so thank you for your
answer Dr so I am as Flor and I'll be
asking you the Next question so for your
Next question um how do um as a medical
technologist What part of your job do
you find the most exciting and
why Well for most that I have handled
equally They have their own importance
at hand but one of the things that would
Actually exite me
with it's it's it's very difficult I
might have one one or two I think
bacteriology will be quite challenging
why Because it's not that very routine
unlike like clinical microscopy that you
handle Uh specimens for your analysis Uh
direct Uh stool examinations that are
very routinary in origin with
bacteriology you would be faced with
different types of Uh bacteria that youl
have to perform your culture have to
perform your sensitivity test the
depending on What type of
Uh organism you're facing another one I
actually enjoy is anatomic Pathology So
basically with regards to anatomic or
histopathology I think you'll be able to
see different types of cancers you'll be
able to see different types of specimen
again Uh the work associated with
histopath is something that is not
ordinarily performed by any medical
technologies basically just pass with
histopath This is skills based So if
this is skills based the only way that
you'll be able to perform truly is that
if you able to perform the work
repeatedly again Uh this takes some time
this takes some effort and work and this
takes the needed skills for you to be
able to do your ribboning when you're
doing your microtome Uh and slicing
specimen so again I think those are just
two a couple of things that I I would
prefer among those different
sections Thank you doc um I'm Nicole
salada po and how do you keep up with
new technology and medicine and how does
help you take better care of patients
that's the import that's the importance
of having having to be able to attend
your conventions I think you already
well know about the cpd that are
required before you are able to renew
your licenses in in in in hindsight when
you're trying to look at the the the
essence of having to perform cpd is
because you have to be adept with the
different technologies that we have
right now
Uh It's continually evolving so being
able to attend all of those Uh seminars
all those conventions will be able to
help us be able to see what are the
current technologies available
especially here in the Philippines
because most of the technologies we use
would come from
other
count mostly
that um Good morning Dr er I
Loro and my question is what does a
typical day look like for you in your
Medical Technology
J well Yeah one thing is about being
Typical because again with Medical
Technology You never know what you be
able to en counter so depending on what
section you're handling depending on
what
Uh on what day or time because basically
Uh clinical laboratories especially in
the hospital Uh where I used to work is
that It's 24/7 so again Uh typical day
is an 8 to F but again depending on what
shift you You are encountering so in the
morning you have your routine specimen
Especially For those fasting if you're
dealing with clinical
microscopy at night you'll always get
your cbcs and your urinalysis coming
from the emergency room these are some
of the basic exams that are usually
performed so those are the typical day
is for bacteriology then you do your
streaking and all of those Uh tests that
you need to perform and normally for
bacteriology you pull give out results
in about 3 to 7 days depending so again
Uh a typical day will depend on what
section you're handling
Good morning poc Eric I'm k Lor Cel and
for our last question what do you have
to say to someone aspiring to become a
medical
technologist well to tell you honest I
used to teach also Medical Technology
before at Far Eastern
University one of the things that I
would
normally my students during the first
day is that Why did you choose Medical
Technology because basically when you
are in your first year very fresh very
eager to learn a lot of things but when
you encounter already some problems
difficulties then that's the time that
you will have to ask yourself why am i
here What am I doing here and Why did I
choose to like Uh allow myself to get
into this because Medical Technology is
one of the most difficult premedical Uh
premed courses that you could Actually
encounter but basically most of the
subjects that you will encounter during
your second year proper in medicine
since I also teach at Our Lady Fatima
University Uh College of medicine
So basically in times of difficulties I
would always ask my students that you
always Go back to the primordial
question of why am i here so that in the
face of difficulty you would always know
because I want this never ever allow
yourself to hear yourself telling you
that no I did this because my Mom told
me so my Dad told me so somebody else
told me so no the primary reason is
Because i wanted this the Main thing
that will help you
succeed in a study that I was able to
read is that It's not a about
intellectual IQ not It's not just EQ but
it's more of great and determination how
much do you want
this because I assure you you will
encounter hardship you will encounter
difficulties but in the face of all of
this if you have that much great and
determination I would tell you that no
matter what obstacles you be able to
succeed that's it
Yeah Yeah you're
welcome say hi to your dad for me
B
Okay Okay
Welcome Thank you d Thank you po
po thank you
po Thank you po
Sabi ko
magick may nakakuha ng
picture
ako
screenshot badali ko lang yan Okay lang
Okay lang Okay lang par may
documentation tayo sa portpolyo
namanana grabe magenglish
be
grabe dire-diretso e Ben record Ben
na-record ko yung sinabi niya doun sa
tanong ni tipan Hindi ko alam kung
mata-touch ako kakabayan
ako Oo nga pero yun naman talaga din ko
alam
I'm and for our last question
po to someone
asp ano ikaw nagrecord ' ba lagay mo sa
drive t's send mo sa
amin Oh my
God
Hala pero tandaan mo yung sagot niya
sayo ako a na ano bang ilalagay natin sa
PowerPoint ' ba summarize lang yung
answer niya
so ang Pathology din ba siya
Pathology so Ganito na lang gawin natin
yung yung mga yung mga important na
sinabi niya ayun na lang ilagay natin sa
ppt tapos yung the rest ayun na lang
yung Gawin nating
explanation para p nagreport
tayo kas anoya e Oo ang ng picture ah so
ang gawin mo be i-upload mo sa gdrive
ung record tapos para ma- backup
mapanood ulit
namin lumulutang yung mga utak namin
kanina sa English niya eh grabe nait
