Why did the narrator have to double back at one point during his drive?

-He booked a room at a pub/inn called The Tennants for £55 per night using booking.com.

Outlines
😄 Starting the road trip from Yorkshire
The narrator wakes up in Ilkley, Yorkshire and is excited to start a road trip to see the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The plan is to focus on two scenic driving roads, different from the previous long drive on the motorway. The booked accommodation for the night is very affordable at £55.
🌄 Stopping frequently to enjoy the views
The narrator keeps stopping to enjoy the views, taking photos and videos. Realizes the bike is running low on fuel since the fuel gauge is on the last bar. There are no petrol stations or towns visible, and no mobile data to check location, so heads back the same way to find fuel.
⛽ Found fuel and food
Found a petrol station, filled up the tank, and ate at a recommended place. The destination called Buttertubs Pass is confirmed to be an excellent driving road. But the daylight is fading after several stops, so heads quickly to the destination.
🌫 Reached the scenic route in bad weather
Arrived at the scenic Buttertubs Pass regarded as one of England's best driving roads, but poor visibility due to rain and fog obscures the beautiful cliffs and waterfalls. Has to race back before sunset without phone signal to find the way.
🛏 Arrived at the inn for the night
Arrived at the inn called The Tennants for the night. The 400 year old building has a pub and restaurant. The room is simple but cozy, with a great view. After settling in, went downstairs to order dinner before the kitchen closes.
🚗 Scary night ride back in fog
The ride back from Buttertubs Pass was frightening, done mostly in darkness and fog with visibility only 20 meters. Considered sleeping outdoors, but made it back to the inn safely for dinner. Scariest ride ever.

hello and welcome back from illey
Yorkshire it
feels just incredible to wake up up here
Yorkshire Dale's just a few minutes away
from me Honda trans up downstairs and
staying in such a characterful property
like this I cannot wait to hit the road
there are two specific roads I'm
focusing on today and it'll be very
different from yesterday because
yesterday it was a 230 M SLO up the
motorway just to get to the edge of the
Beauty Spot now I'm here the two roads
for today I want to focus on are
beautiful driving roads in the middle of
Glorious Countryside total Solitude
around one of those roads is regarded by
some as one of the finest driving roads
in England the location I'm staying
tonight I've just booked it about 10
minutes
ago on booking.com was £55 a night and
scrolling through over my breakfast this
morning the discounts available in
offseason now in England to book
accommodation is staggeringly good I've
seen some properties at £60 a night
usually usually brought down to about 55
to 60 a night I could easily find a room
above a pub for 40 a night without
looking for more than 2 minutes or so so
you really can do a trip like this in
the winter on a very very reasonable
budget 55 a night for me though I think
above a pub tonight 40 minutes away from
that but I'm going to do a big loop in
order to get there I can't waste any
more time I'm too excited let's
go

oh it's all so pretty the problem is I'm
stopping all the time it's been three
stops and 25 minutes just to enjoy the
beautiful views but this one I've
stopped at because I want to show an
example of a beautiful Yorkshire dalees
Village it's like it's straight out of a

oh this is so stupid of me I've been
enjoying the scenery too much and I
didn't even think about fuel I look down
at my fuel gauge and it's onto the final
bar the final bar of fuel and I don't
know how long it's been on the final bar
fuel so I I don't really know if I have
5 mil of fuel or 20 mil of fuel I tried
to see if there's a fuel indicator on
the bike but
I I couldn't figure it out
so just says consumption
trip
consumption nothing
nothing and I haven't seen a petrol
station all day all day it's now
1:00 so I'm I'm thinking I'm going to
have to go all the way back I came until
I find a sign for Big Town not that I've
seen one and there's no mobile data no
mobile signal so I can't put it onto
Google Maps or anything like that so I
think I'm going to have to go all the
way back because I'm deep into the
yorkshire's national park now which is
completely breathtaking but at least for
now double back hopefully get some fuel
and find a decent sized town which I
haven't
seen for a long time
now it's a shame very very badly
organized

that feels so much better bike's been
filled to the brim I have also eaten
that was a very very good place I highly
recommend it I was chatting to the owner
there and he said that the place I'm
going I forget the exact name I think
it's the butterier pass is indeed an
extremely good driving Road and very
very Scenic so I'm going to the right
place the only problem is I've been
riding for 4 hours and I've covered
about 20 miles right now I'm only about
20 miles away from where I started the
day so I now need to head off not stop
once until I get to the location because
the sun will set in about 2
hours and I'm going to be there at 4:00
even if I don't stop once I'm must get
that
stay

I made it welcome
to what is thought of by some as one of
the best driving roads in England the
butter tub pass I don't know if the
microphone's going to work because my
phone's just said it detects water in
the system I've had to do an emergency
override on the microphone because
everything is Soden in water and again I
don't know how good the mic is if it
will stop picking up the wind because it
is gale force wind up here in fact you
can see it all of the burns are facing
that way visibility is about 80 M or so
it's about half an hour to Sunset
I can see the beauty through all of the
Mist the fog and the rain on a clear day
this really would be one of the best
driving roads in England that I've ever
seen and it's a shame because
here across the road and the sheet of
gray are
breathtakingly dramatic Cliffs dropping
down with waterfalls I've seen glimpses
every so often but the weather's closing
in so much now the visibility is is just
not good enough to be able to see it but
across the road there spectacular views
I have to race back now as quickly as
possible because I'm about half an hour
from Sunset no signal so I'm just going
to have to ride that way until I get
some signal figure out where I
am

welcome to feels great to arrive I think
it's called the tenants in it's hard to
put an exact date on this apparently I
was looking into this because there's so
many different aspects of this building
but some bits apparently are about 400
years old or so it's a classic Pub
slashin so you've got the pub section
downstairs with a restaurant that I
filmed a bit earlier and then upstairs
you've got all of the rooms because it's
off seon you have to get your food order
in fairly early because I think they'll
just close the kitchen if there aren't
any orders coming in because there
simply isn't the footfall at this time
of year so I'm going to go
downstairs put in an order I'm delighted
that it feels like a SAA in here can
feel myself heating up going from cold
outside to very very warm in here
massive radiator I've wrapped everything
around this because everything's soaking
wet and it's so warm it's burning my leg
but also within half an hour an hour
it'll all be dry and I'll be good to go
for tomorrow morning so I'm running
downstairs putting an order
in feels great to be in the warmth and
dry I'll take this off the tripod and
show you what we've
got it's a very nice very clean simple
simple but everything you
need I think that will be a view of
a I think a very ber sheer Rock in fact
I think it will be that that I'll be
looking out to in the
morning TV little coffee machine there
bathroom so it's nothing ludicrously
fancy but more than enough
last bit of stuff I need to do just
empty that waterproof bag and then I'm
[Music]
done
[Music]
the ride back from the I always forget
the name the
butter butter something pass I shouldn't
have done the last stop off to get a
pick with the bike in the front
because I ended up riding back the whole
way in almost pitch black the sun
completely set about 10 minutes after
that and the fog came in and the
visibility was down to about genuinely
20 M or so and I promise hand on heart
that is probably the the scariest most
hairy ride I've ever done anywhere in
the world in my life couldn't see a
thing I put the fog lights on did
everything I could but nothing worked
and all I could do is just follow a
fence or a tree along and so many times
I was going along 17 M hour maximum and
I'd see myself going towards a ditch or
something then have to do a last minute
turn it was so bad I I've never done
this before it was so bad I was semic
considering sleeping out in the open
because I had my waterproof so I'm
actually I've been really warm all day I
thought look I can just lie down next to
the bike and sleep there it was that bad
it was really scary
anyway I
survived and I got my food order in on
time which I'm delighted about because
otherwise I'd have had to go on the bike
and go to a supermarket so that is
perfect and I'll wrap it up there thank
you so much everyone for watching see
you all in the next
