Ukraine Takes More Ground in Kursk while Russia Inches toward Pokrovsk
Summary

Transcripts
okay hello my friends my name is Daron
gtis and this is the daily brief if
you're looking for Ukraine war news I do
this every morning and then I do a three
big story segment at the end of the day
sometimes with another video in the
middle 1230 Russians off the Battlefield
five tanks 12 armored combat Vehicles 58
artillery systems 65 vehicles and fuel
tank the fighting is hot particularly
around thecross the Russians don't seem
to have a lot of interest in defend ing
kers as much as they do in trying to
continue to take prros now at the time
that I uh filmed this video uh Andrew
perpetua didn't have his list yet
vehicle loss list for yesterday will
come out today just not anytime soon I'm
working on today right now so you know
he's in a backlog as well last night
Russian forces launched isander K creu
missile at the city of Sumi 14 Shahed
attack drones from various locations in
Russia all 14 drones were successfully
shot down using mobile fire teams
aircraft anti- aircraft Etc so the the
drones were shot down the isander got
through and so what's it look like when
the isander gets through um and two
injured as Russian missile hits a
residential area in sui um yeah I mean
they're hitting a residential
area it's it's to the point that they
can continue to do what they're doing
here which we traditionally recognize as
a war crime and the rest of the world
just collectively yawns Russia also
destroyed a green School in heran oblast
built in 2016 with the support of the
Finnish government it was a special Eco
school that aimed to preserve POS uh
preserve energy and derive it from solar
batteries and that's destroyed sure
attack a civilian apartment building and
a school and nothing
happens the aftermath of the strike on
sui this morning people were sleeping
peacefully when Russia decided to live
liberate them now partisan set fire to a
locomotive parked on reserve tracks at a
train station in Vladimir east of Moscow
and more bad things are happening to
trains across Russia and I I think we're
going to see that as a train as a as a
train misspoke as a uh chain of events
that happens over time uh I think you'll
see more and more of this as they are
not keeping the upkeep on the railroad
is not what it should be okay this came
out a couple of days ago but it's still
correct the Russian military is
prioritizing denet Advance over the
Kirk's defensive us officials claim that
Russia has redeployed Brigade size
element to Kurt's ablast but sources
suggest larger better trained units
remain in Ukraine so they just want to
take prros and it doesn't really matter
the incursion doesn't really matter so
much in fact one article was talking
about how they were uh treating prros um
with prioritizing it so much much that
um they just weren't sending units from
there uh to you know deal with what was
going on in K when they're and they're
backing up into a 45 kilometer Zone
they're treating it like what was it
what did they say they treated it like a
um a natural disaster rather than a
military incursion they're just it's
it's very weird to see what Russians are
doing and it's hard for us to understand
that evacuation of soldiers in the cross
Direction where they were partially
surrounded the evacuation was carried
out with the help of a Bradley viting
vehicle which eliminated Russian forces
in a nearby forested
area Okay um so here's a k Russian Ka
helicopter was down by a portable
anti-aircraft missile complex and this
came out almost about two hours ago so I
think this is a new one this is not from
the other day third Russian tank
captured and cursed so some have been
blown up but this is a third captured
tank uh Russia is restricting access to
information to limit criticism of its
destructive invasion of Ukraine now you
know what's happened with YouTube
recently YouTube was shut down and it's
to the point that all Russian YouTube
accounts were closed and that included
um affecting uh inside Russia and so
Constantine was affected by that
somebody alerted me to that and I was
just gearing up to okay well let's let's
go see what we can do to tell YouTube
like they need to reinstate him and and
he came out and said look all Russian
accounts were done this way and that's
what happened to him Communications
channels are being pulled away as a
cremin Titan his grip on free expression
so whenever you see clamping down on
free expression even more and more
that's not a sign of strength but a sign
perhaps of weakness in the liberation of
Curts here's the Ukrainian Soldier
asking a happy Russian local if any
ukrainians are picking on her she says
no he asks if she has enough to eat and
drink she responds with a grin on her
face my friends and I looted some local
stores okay that's a very different
experience that the what the ukrainians
experienced at the hands of the Russians
okay this was an opinion piece in the KE
Independence six reasons uh that or six
ways that the Ukraine kurts incursion is
changing the tide of War so the first is
that Ukraine's kurts incursion is a
large scale military offensive being
carried out by Ukraine's official
military unlike previous Infantry raids
into Russian territory previously what
you saw was like the freedom of Russia
Legion going over there and just raiding
and coming back not really doing much
but shooting some videos and maybe
shooting up some some kind of military
equipment or something second the
initial days the Ukrainian incursion
into kurur or into Russia have been
unexpectedly successful for Kei reports
indicate that Ukrainian forces have
occupied around 1,000 square kilomet and
it's actually more than that now it's
closer to 1,00 at this point the
Ukrainian military also reportedly
controls 74 settlements including the
administrative Center of sutsa okay sua
was an important Logistics hub for the
Russian military I didn't know that
before third kurts incursion has led to
the largest and quickest change in the
war's front line since Ukraine's
liberation of Russia controlled
territory in harke and herzan oblast in
the fall of
2022 well that's something how about
that um and and it really has it's been
very dramatic in what has become a
positional war or War of Attrition
fourth the kurts region can be seen as a
belated implementation of the much
discussed Ukrainian counter offensive
that stalled in
2023 and so yeah I mean last year that
was absolutely brutal and we'll talk
about like why it didn't work in just a
moment uh Fifth and perhaps more
importantly with the kurts incursion the
land war between Russia and Ukraine has
transitioned to from a confrontation
almost exclusively on Ukrainian
territory to one now being fought on
both countries legal State territories
the shift has already become a source of
embarrassment and distraction for the
Kremlin really has and then finally the
initial success of the incursion into
Russian territory raises questions about
the significance of the Russian
military's doctrinal statements and
frequent oral threats concerning the use
of nuclear weapons well like what other
red lines can you cross right they they
just crossed them all I saw this and I
thought well there's something really
interesting to this not all invasions
are the same I've not seen any evidence
of Ukraine targeting civilians now I I
it would I wouldn't put it past Russia
to maybe create a false flag or some
kind of something like that but you've
really not seen reports about any
ukrainians Ukrainian soldiers hurting
civilians and that's not what's happened
in for example
bcha okay um Gary caspero had this
Ukraine's Advance into Kirch receives
the strongest possible endorsement
Kremlin cheerleader Sachs quoting aaser
Mir shimer saying it was terrible so
listen to the other side and hear what
they have to say if only to understand
why they're thinking the way that they
are so here is David Sachs tweeting
about Mir shimer and quoting him the
Kurt's offensive is a foolish move says
Mir shimer Ukraine's invasion of kurts
and this is worth listening to Ukraine's
invasion of kurts was major strategic
blunder which will accelerate its defeat
the key determinant of success in a war
of attrition is a casually exchange
ratio not capturing territory which
Western commentators obsess over the
casualty exchange ratio in the kurts
offensive decisively favors Russia for
two
reasons first it has caused relatively
few Russian casualties because Ukraine's
Army effectively overran undefended
territory well that's true there are a
few casualties but they also picked up
2,000 plus PS that now they can exchange
for their own soldiers back second once
accelerated the attack uh once alerted
to the attack Moscow quickly brought
massive air power to Bear against the
advancing Ukrainian troops who were in
the open and easy to strike
unsurprisingly the attack uh attacking
forces lost many soldiers and a huge
proportion of their equipment I'm not so
sure that it's the way that he has
explained it it seems like that's an
overstatement to make matters worse ke
removed top-notch combat units from the
front lines in eastern Ukraine where
they're desperately needed and make them
part of the curs strike force this move
is tilting the already lopsided casualty
exchange ratio on that critically
important front further in Russia's
favor it's no wonder given what a
foolish idea the kurts incursion is that
the Russians were caught by surprise
that sounds more like a excuse rather
than anything else like I I just don't
see it that way but that he sees it that
way is quite telling okay Ukraine
exposes a Russian fake about us plans to
replace zalinski over the Kirk's
operation this is according to the
Center for strategic Communications the
Russians are promoting a statement by
former CIA Officer Larry Johnson now
Larry Johnson is usually interviewed on
stuff like redacted okay redacted is a
an American repeater of Russian
propaganda so sometimes it works that
Russian propaganda just gets repeated by
them and some times they start it Russia
picks up on it and then it gets repeated
back again so that's how that works I
don't think there's anything to see
there now this is what I said we'd come
back to in the Ukrainian counter
offensive last year Ukraine was supposed
to fight like NATO but they were
supposed to do it with no air cover uh
they were forbidden to use longrange
weapons and they can't strike into
Russian airfields and missile launches
and they so how are they supposed to
fight like NATO exactly so it was a
Fool's errand to to send them to do that
and they eventually you know yeah we're
going to back up and not do this and the
the lines are where the lines are
because of that okay last thing that I'm
going to uh leave you with Ukrainian
drone operator unsure whether Russian
city is already
bombed okay my friends thank you for
your time thank you for the likes the
shares the subscribes and thank you for
being the kind of person that cares
about Ukraine
