i get my topics from you guys in the
comment section below so make sure to
comment question ask
whatever it is below so that i know what
you want to learn about next and while
you're at it like the video and
subscribe to our channel because
literally this is a channel made by all
of you for all of you and i'm the one
who comes every week
um also randomly if you guys are new to
this channel i've been doing this for a
year and a half i've always been using
just a tripod i went last week to an
electronics store which i haven't been
to in years because i ordered everything
off amazon and the guy was shocked he
was like you don't have a light you
don't have a real stand you don't have a
microphone i'm not wearing a microphone
today i'm still just speaking into my
phone but i have upgraded my setup and
hopefully you guys are enjoying the
better quality of this video what are we
talking about today we are going to talk
about not only lifestyle tips and tricks
not only skin tips and tricks also
product recommendations for all the
eczema sufferers out there what exactly
is eczema and why are you confused you
are fully in the right to be confused
because eczema is a broad term what it
really truly means is just dermatitis
which means inflammation of the skin and
it can look angry it can look irritated
and if you rub too much it can look
thickened like kennefide is the actual
medical term it is a condition that
affects millions of people in the u.s up
to 10 percent of the u.s population
which is around 30 million people so
chances are you probably know somebody
who has some sort of exeminus skin
condition now when dermatologists
actually diagnose quote-unquote eczema
or atopic dermatitis
in the office they're really talking
about a skin condition that's related to
people who have asthma hay fever and
food allergies just a little fyi what
exactly triggers eczema with eczema
people and sufferers who have it have
over-reactive inflammatory responses to
triggers whether it is
heat
and yes heat can trigger it
very very dry skin
dry climate humidity is actually your
best friend so you probably want to be
in a humid hot climate not in a dry hot
climate um certain irritants people who
have now broken skin barriers are much
more sensitive to things like fragrances
and that's why most dermatologists will
say go fragrance free um and other sort
of irritants as well let's jump in
lifestyle tips and tricks and i'm gonna
give you guys and i typed this out
approximately seven different lifestyle
tips and tricks starting with number one
it's hard but avoid scratching and
rubbing i myself am a major allergy
sufferer and i want to rub my eyes all
the time especially right here in this
corner and i've noticed my skin has
gotten slightly thickened over time so
do not do it because you will thicken
your skin and it can look kind of like
elephant skin over time it's a very
short-term gain with no long-term
benefit just don't do it number two keep
your nails short i've been trying to
grow my nails but it's probably a good
idea that they always crack because i'd
probably go to town on some places
especially like in that corner of my eye
but keep your nails short why because
when you have short nails you're going
to do less damage to your skin obviously
and if you can't keep your nails short
keep your hands busy i don't know get a
rosary bead let's make them chic okay
let's make them part of your fashion
thing or get a fidget or get something
or play with a pen but keep your hands
busy number three when washing your
clothes stick to everything that is free
all free tide free free of fragrance and
skip the fabric softener i love the
scent or the feel of a fabric softener
but when i use it on my shirt sometimes
oof i get really really irritated
especially on my backside so i would
avoid fabric softeners as well as
fragrances in your detergents number
four wear clothing that allows your skin
to breathe and the best material here is
probably going to be 100 cotton number
five if you do not have a humidifier and
you live in a very dry climate invest in
a good humidifier just make sure to
clean it because you do not want it to
be a mold breeding ground number six
take short showers and the reason this
sucks is because i love
warmer actually hotter longer showers
god bless my kids for making my time in
the shower very short these days but
definitely try to limit your time in the
shower and change your water temperature
to lukewarm water you will help your
skin a ton
number seven keep cool during exercise i
have had examples in my life when i
decided for whatever reason i'm going to
try to work out outside and within 10
minutes i need to rip my pants off
because my legs are flaming they're hot
they're itchy i can't i actually had to
hide behind the bush once my dad had to
pick me up and there was no pun intended
with that little joke but i did
so take it from me lightweight clothing
that are breathable not super tight and
if you need to have a misting spray with
you to kind of cool you down if you get
itchy use the misting spray and another
tip i have personally learned is i take
an antihistamine a non-sedating
antihistamine an hour or so before i
actually take it every day if i'm going
to be very honest between
february and like october because my
allergies are out of control but take an
antihistamine at least an hour or two
before you decide to work out to
minimize that sort of histamine release
that may cause your skin to react and
last stay moisturized moisturize right
after a shower to lock in that moisture
and keep your moisture
into your skin now skin care tips
three very very simple skincare tips are
if you have eczema or a broken skin
barrier switch to fragrance free this is
not a blanketed statement again for all
skin types if you don't have eczema or
broken skin barrier enjoy your fragrance
and the aromatherapy that comes with it
number two if you need to do anything
don't be afraid of wearing sunscreen but
if you don't know which sunscreen to use
because you're so sensitive stick to one
with zinc or titanium and i almost list
right over there but a quote-unquote
physical sunscreen is a better one for
you if you have a very sensitive skin or
if you are prone to being sensitive and
last look for seals with national eczema
association so for example this product
we're going to talk about shortly has a
seal right here that says approved by
the national eczema association this is
a good guide for you guys to know
whether or not you should be using a
product or not and you can go on their
website i have come up with a roundup of
ingredients and i have intentionally
picked drugstore ingredients most of
them are available in the us a lot of my
light just died
maybe i should charge it
but it's back so most of them are
available in the us a lot of them are
available overseas as well my light just
died again um but we're just gonna keep
going i tried guys i just forgot to
charge it let us start with
body washes so two of the washes that i
really really love
for people with eczema are very
sensitive skin are number one cetaphil
this guy the restoraderm proline which
is a very soothing body watch enriched
with filagrins to really help restore
your moisture barrier i think it's a
great product to actually have in your
shower
when showering again minimize the use of
hot water and try to limit it like i
don't put it all over my arms and legs
when i'm super dry i'll really limit it
to my privates underneath my breasts my
armpits the areas of your body that are
going to accumulate sweat and grime and
bacteria build up
but it's not one that's going to
overstrip your skin and leave it dry the
second one that i particularly really
love is the event and this one still has
it's i just bought it it is the event
zeracom this is a lipid replenishing
cleansing oil so you're gonna feel like
a slick seal in the shower and just be
careful not to slip
but this one is a great one this one is
fragrance free and approved by the
national eczema association but these
are some shower products that i think
can be very helpful for you minimize the
use of harsh soaps and try to go for
body washes that are really creamy or
oily okay and don't you don't need to
use on all square inches of your body
keep it to the pits the groins etc the
places where the sun doesn't usually
shine
once you come out of the shower i'm
going to start with more lightweight
moisturizers that i actually really like
and i have two examples and one is if
you live in a very dry climate i would
prefer you use this type of body lotion
the one by la roche-posay their lipid
car lotion why do i like this so i'll
show it to you guys it is lightweight
there is no scent i'm going to put it
here um it gets absorbed very easily and
so somebody like myself who has no time
after the shower to wait for their
product to get absorbed i'm talking
about like vaseline which i'm going to
get to in a second i like this one
because it gets absorbed very easily and
it feels it feels very very smooth and
slippery the reason i like this is that
it's loaded with shea butter and i used
to call that shea butter but i have
learned that my english is not
necessarily always the best but it's
made with shea butter which is extracted
from the nuts of the shea tree a plant
native to west africa it has a high
concentration of fatty acids in it so
that's why you're feeling that really
nice lightweight quote-unquote grease
and vitamins for softening the skin and
it also has anti-inflammatory and
soothing properties and when i wear it
and i use this sometimes before i even
work out if i'm gonna work out outside
this was like probably 10 years ago
um i don't have that time anymore but
i'll use it before i go work out and my
skin does not react the one i like if
you live in a very humid climate um and
you can't tolerate something thick
sitting on your skin is the bioderma
ediderm
intensive gel cream look how beautiful
this texture is it is a lightweight gel
cream and you can use this not only on
your body but also on your face i
wouldn't be scared of using this one at
all this one is a beautiful lightweight
jelly substance that doesn't have that
greasy residue feel
it's much more lightweight much more
breathable so if you're somebody with
sensitive skin and even maybe acne prone
and you're looking for something
lightweight even for your face i would
look no further and try this guy out
love it love it love it love it love it
i would not be scared of it at all all
right fyi it has some niacinamide in
here as well so just make sure that you
don't really overdo it with the
niacinamide in another step of your
skincare routine if you're going to use
this on your face so the other five
products that i'm going to talk about
are sort of multi-use products okay
number one is aquaphor i love their
ointment body spray because this one can
go on easier right it doesn't feel as
greasy as vaseline which is the gold
standard if you have eczema
because it just gets absorbed lighter
but it does make your floor slippery so
do this over a towel be very careful it
could be the final step after you've
moisturized to sort of seal it in now if
you have a crepey neck and chest
side tip it's a great one to add on top
of your moisturizer for your neck and
chest new york city is so loud
so why do i love this guy not only is it
loaded in things like vaseline and
mineral oil it also has glycerin and
panthenol in it panthenol is a precursor
to vitamin b5 pantothen pantothenic acid
which has not only been proven to be a
great humectant but also a great
emollient and they also enrich this with
metabolol which is derived from
chamomile and has anti-inflammatory
effects as well next on our list is and
i bought this one in the uk so this is
for all the british folks out there
cetra ben and they have not only this
one they have the one that comes in a
pump which i use at night especially on
my neck and chest because vanity but
this one is great for people with eczema
not only can you use this it is a mix of
white soft paraffin white liquid
paraffin so again vaseline and mineral
oil but also a lot of fatty alcohols and
as you can see it is extremely thick
but feels much more lightweight than
vaseline does on your skin and has a
much better play time so it spreads more
easily and a little tip
you can also use a little bit of this to
wash your face so if you don't if you're
not somebody who can tolerate soaps or
face washes a little bit of this mixed
with warm water can get a lot of your
makeup off and if you want to take a
soaking bath take a couple of
teaspoonfuls of this put it in a
lukewarm water it will melt in and allow
your skin to really absorb better the
moisture and the hydration so a few
little tidbits with citra bed
in the u.s we do not have it you can
find it on amazon but beware make sure
it is a licensed distributor and you're
not getting some like third party random
so that is cetraven now moving on
to a u.s counterpart which i discovered
when i had babies was aveenos eczema
therapy i
love this product it is approved by the
national exam association it is loaded
in colloidal oatmeal which is derived
from oatmeal ground into a very very
thin powder you can take colloidal
oatmeal baths colloidal oatmeal has been
proven to really help your skin to the
point where in 2003 the fda classified
it as a skin protectant so if you're
looking for an ingredient to really help
nourish your skin not only are you
looking for humectants like glycerin
that are going to hold on to moisture or
urea as well which i will hit on in a
second you want ingredients that are
also going to help soothe your skin
floral oatmeal is probably the best one
out there if you have really irritated
or inflamed skin as a side note
completely from a vanity perspective i
sometimes like to take a little bit of
this because it is so
dewy
and i will warm it up between my hands
and hit this top
you know points of my face to give
myself a little bit of a you know
dewy hydrated look um it works
beautifully i used to recommend the
waletta i still do the skin food but
just be careful if you have eczema
because it has a lot of essential oils
which can irritate your skin and really
make it much more inflamed which leads
me to if your skin is very inflamed and
you have a broken barrier you want to
bury your cream something that is nice
and thick and i love this one the
panthen their pomade which is also
loaded in panthenol it is a very white
thick barrier cream this one you find
overseas as well
a counterpart which is not as nice
formulation wise is probably triple
paste but it is very very very pasty
this one just has much more of a sheen i
actually use it i'm not going to lie as
an alternative to
oleda for lip basting so that is the
bipentane and last i have isden's urea
cream and this one is an interesting one
because it is loaded in urea both a
humectant and part of your natural
moisturizing factor of your skin barrier
meaning it allows your skin to hold on
to water and keeps it not only plump
elastic looking and also obviously
hydrated urea is also interesting
because it is a cure analytic which
breaks down the carrots and bonds
between the superficial dead skin cells
so you might think wait but if i have an
inflamed skin barrier do i want to use
that
you're right i would probably avoid but
if you are somebody who has very dry
skin and your skin barrier is not
necessarily inflamed and red urea can
work wonders and getting rid of that
dead skin cells on the superficial
aspect of it helping restore moisture
beneath and you might want to lock it in
with the aquaphor ointment spray
so
those are my tips and tricks and few of
my favorite products if you are somebody
who has an inflamed skin barrier if you
have eczema if you actually have atopic
dermatitis i hope you guys found this
video helpful and useful and i will
catch you guys next week have a
beautiful weekend
