Takeaways
- 📚 The practical component of the W biology exam counts for 40% of the final grade, making it crucial for achieving a high overall score.
- 🔍 Students should aim to score full marks in the practical to stay ahead in the competition for top grades in science subjects.
- 📝 When identifying specimens in the exam, the first letter of the specimen's name should be capitalized, and the zoological or botanical name should be written correctly.
- 📏 Labeling during the practical exam should be done horizontally using a ruler to ensure neatness and avoid overlapping lines.
- 🖊️ For drawings in the biology practical, an HB pencil is recommended for clarity and precision, while a 2B pencil should be used for labeling.
- 🔬 After drawing, it's essential to calculate and include the magnification of the image to ensure accuracy in the representation of the specimen.
- 🔗 The magnification is calculated by dividing the height of the image on the answer script by the height of the actual specimen provided in the exam.
- 📈 Understanding the concept of magnification from physics is beneficial as it applies to the biology practical exam when dealing with physical specimens.

The main topic of the video is the practical rules for W biology, which accounts for 40% of the final grade. The speaker emphasizes the importance of performing well in practicals to secure an A in science subjects. They mention a separate video that will cover the specimens for the practical exam and focus on the rules for identifying specimens with proper capitalization and zoological/botanical naming conventions.
🔍 Detailed Rules for W Biology Practical Examination
This paragraph delves into the specifics of the W biology practical exam rules. The speaker outlines several key points: labeling should be done horizontally without overlapping, drawings should be sharp and clear using HB pencils for drawings and 2B for labeling, and the magnification of the image should be calculated and added to the drawing. The magnification is calculated by comparing the physical length of the specimen to the length of the drawn image. The speaker also provides an example calculation and advises viewers to study their specimens before the exam. They offer assistance through WhatsApp or their website and conclude by inviting questions and thanking viewers for watching.

Highlights
Welcome to Exam Boners YouTube channel, where viewers are encouraged to subscribe, like, and comment.
The channel provides practical rules for W biology, which accounts for 40% of the final grade.
To excel in science subjects, it's crucial to secure the 40 marks from the practical exam.
Common misconceptions about biology's simplicity are addressed, emphasizing the importance of following practical rules.
Rule number one: When identifying specimens, ensure the first letter is capitalized.
A link to a video on W biology practical specimens will be provided for further reference.
Specimens should be identified with their Zoological or botanical names, starting with a capital letter.
Underlining both words of the specimen's name is recommended for clarity.
Rule number two: Labeling should be done horizontally without overlapping lines.
Use a ruler for straight, non-overlapping labels on the right-hand side of the book.
Rule number three: Avoid overlapping labels to prevent mark deductions.
Rule number four: Drawings should be sharp and clear, using HB pencils for drawings and 2B for labeling.
Finding the magnification of an image after drawing is crucial for accurate representation.
Magnification is calculated by comparing the length of the specimen to the length of the drawing.
Always add the magnification to your drawing for accuracy and to avoid losing marks.
Study specimens before the exam for better preparation.

Transcripts
good day guys welcome to exam boners
YouTube channel yeah welcome to this
Channel I want you all to subscribe to
this channel like our video and make
sure comment when necessary if you have
a question drop it in the comment
section below and if you want to contact
us you can contact us via our website
ww. exam bonus.com I also drop my
WhatsApp video at the end of this my
WhatsApp number at the end of this video
so let's go straight to the point this
video we want to discuss about W biology
practical rules so what are the rules
behind W biology practical one thing you
should know is that your biology
practical in W consists of 40% of your
grade so if everything is over 100 your
practical is taking 40% Meanwhile your
theory and your OBG are sharing 60% so
anyone that's looking forward to making
an A in any science subject should make
sure that you or she bags the 40 marks
of the Practical in order to be one step
ahead in the examination so why biology
practic there are a lot of mistakes
people believe that biology is one of
the simplest subjects so biology is
simple but once you make mistake in this
rules you are going to be left behind so
let's get straight down to the point so
my rule number one is that when you are
identifying your specimens in the exam
so I'm I'm going to post a link to the
video maybe I'll post that very later
I'll post it in the comment section
there will be a link or you can check
our channel for the link the video of
the W biology practical specimens for
this year this video you are just going
to talk about the rules we not going to
talk about the specimens there's going
to be another video for the Wy specimen
so when identify the specimen let the
first letter be a capital letter so
assuming the specimen a of our biology
practical exam is X1 we going to make
sure that the big when you are told to
identify identify specimen a cap the1
should start the first letter of the
capital of the capital letter E then the
others can be small letter but you
should also know that when you are told
to identify specimen that in which you
are going to answer the specimen with
the Zoological name or biological name
so as example aama aama you know that
you are going to write the first letter
what a gamma of capital letter then the
second word will what small letter and
then what you underline both or you
write it in each LS the best thing is to
underline both so you should make sure
you know how to write botanical name and
Zoological name the correct way so when
I Define specimen let the first letter
be a capital letter that's very very
very important then the second rule of
biologic practic is labeling should be
done horizontally so when you are told
to label your specimens make sure you
are using a ruler and you draw the line
horizontally to the right hand of your
book like the way the book is facing the
right hand side so the right hand side
of this board is the Practical side
where biology practical so you lab you
towards what practical so that is the
right hand side of my book so another
thing is that those labeling those lines
you are drawing horizontally don't let
them overlap don't let them overlap one
on other that's the rule three so your
labeling should not overlap so if you
want to draw a labeling from the down
make sure it's go horizontally that down
if it's at the up Let It Go horizontally
don't let one labelling cross another
labeling the lines of that labeling
don't let it cross the other so that
don't let your labeling overlap once you
make any of this mistake there'll be a
subtraction of your mark it can be minus
half or minus one and no one are losing
those little marks they say drops of
water are what make an ocean so once you
are losing those marks you are losing
part of your what of your 4 marks in
your practical then rule number four let
your drawings be sharp and clear so the
best pencil I will prescribe that you
should use is HB pencil for your drawing
and 2B pencil for labeling so those
pencils will make your work very neat
and clear so then the last Point always
find the magnification of image after
drawing so let me explain what
magnification is you know in physics you
have been taught magnification same
thing comes to biology you'll be giving
your physical specimens in the exam so
you can use your ruler to take the
length of the specimen then when you
want to draw you can also take the
length of your drawing then use use that
to
calculate the magnification of your
drawing so assuming I use my ruler to
measure the length of my specimen is CM
2 cm then my drawing is 4 cm long then
my magnification be what height of the
image height of the image is the image
on the notebook on your answer script so
that one will be height of the image
divided by height of the object height
of the object is the physical specimen
you are given in the exam one so that be
height of the image divided by of the
object that will give you your what Your
magnification I said that my image is
what 4 cm my object is what 2 C that be
what 4 2 that would be what time 2 so
the answer my magnification what
magnification is equal to what time 2 if
the image in your book is smaller than
the specimen that mean you be like time
a fraction time half time 1 / 3 so
whichever way you should make sure that
you always add the macation of your
images to your drawing that's very very
important so we have come to the end of
this video so those are everything you
need for your W biology practical the
little advice I will give to you is that
make sure you study your specimens
before the exam and if at all you want
