Let’s get to know the 10 psychological habits, okay?” Aman agrees, “Yes,
that’s fine.” Then Doctor Book says, “The sixth
psychological habit we need for ourselves is positive self-motivation.
To illustrate this, Doctor Book shared the story of Wilma Rudolph with Aman.
Wilma Rudolph was born prematurely and,
as a child, she contracted polio, which caused paralysis in her left leg.
The doctors had clearly stated that Wilma would never be able to walk.
At that time, just leading a normal life seemed like a big dream for her.
But she dreamed beyond that.
She aimed to become an Olympic athlete.
Everyone thought it was absurd and physically impossible.
But Wilma had something that no one
else had, which surprised everyone—her internal motivation.
Despite what doctors or anyone else said,
Wilma never gave up on her dreams.
At a young age, she decided that she would overcome
paralysis and one day run—not just run, but win.
This was a very strong internal motivation for her.
That’s why Wilma wore braces on her legs every day and practiced.
And guess what?
Because of her consistent practice, she gradually regained control over her legs.
Then she learned to walk without braces.
Next, she learned to run slowly, and after breaking all physical limitations,
she started preparing for the Olympic trials at the age of 16.
Not only did she qualify, but due to her self-motivation and
determination, she won three gold medals at the Rome Olympics in 1960s.
Wilma Rudolph became the fastest woman in the world, who
was once unable to even stand on her own legs.
Aman, once we understand our direction, it is crucial to have self-motivation.
We need something that continually
motivates us from within, and along with that, discipline is very important.
Motivation is like the key that helps start the car.
But after
that, step seven is also important, which is positive self-discipline, to keep
your car moving toward your dreams’ destination.
For this, the doctor gave the example of Kobe Bryant.
You must have heard of Kobe Bryant, who, sadly, is no longer with us.
Aman said, “Yes, I saw it
in the news.” The doctor then asked if Aman knew about it or not.
But Kobe Bryant was very famous.
He was known for his incredible skills and determination, but his secret
wasn’t his talent.
What made him so famous was his relentless discipline.
His no-shortcut attitude was something he always applied.
Kobe Bryant was so disciplined that a young NBA player shared that when he got
the chance to practice with Kobe Bryant, they set a specific time
for their practice session They agreed to practice at 4:00 AM.
Now, when the young player arrived at 4:00 AM, feeling exhausted and sleepy,
he was shocked to see that Kobe Bryant was already there, drenched in sweat.
When he asked, he found out that Kobe had actually started his drills at 3:00 AM.
And guess what?
While the other young players were exhausted after their
practice, Kobe Bryant practiced for an additional hour.
When the young player asked why Kobe worked so hard despite already
being the best player, Kobe calmly replied that he wanted the young players
to know that he was here because of his hard work and self-discipline.
Kobe Bryant always made sure he stayed one step ahead
of his competition, and his biggest weapon in achieving that was his discipline.
He continued practicing with discipline, and Aman, you’ll need to work on this too.
Dr. Book told Aman that discipline is the most important thing.
Without discipline in your life, you will always feel like you’re lost and a loser.
Therefore, it’s crucial to work on it, Aman.
Working on this will also help with the next habit, which is positive
self-control.
For this, he gave another example of a basketball player.
Michael Jordan.
Now, Michael Jordan was mentally very tough and had strong self-control.
A great example of this is the 1997 NBA Finals game, famously known
as the “Flu Game.” The thing was, Jordan fell ill before the game.
He was feeling very weak and unwell.
The other players thought he wouldn’t be able to play at all, given
how sick he was—he might not even be able to get out of bed, let alone play.
But Jordan knew that this was the moment to learn how to control his mind and body.
Despite being physically
unwell, Jordan pushed through his illness and maintained his performance.
By controlling his body and pushing through exhaustion, he kept his focus
on the game and, solely based
on his determination and control, scored 38 points in that game.
He gave Chicago Bulls a critical victory which also helped them win
the championship. Now this example shows our self control.
Doctor Book tells Aman that Aman have you ever seen
that video where the monks are sitting in a line.
They have a cup in their hand.
The master pours hot water in the cup due to which many people start shouting Dr.
Book explains that many people drop the cup when the hot water is poured, while
some monks don’t react at all despite the scalding water touching their hands.
This is due to their self-control.
There’s a quote that says, “Pain is inevitable, but how you react to pain
is up to you.” Most people become flustered by pain, unable to control
themselves, and such people often struggle with maintaining discipline.
Such people never
see themselves as winners because they feel they lack control.
However, those who learn to control these aspects of their lives emerge as winners.
Therefore, it’s crucial to work on positive self-control in your life.
After that, follow the second last habit.
The second last habit is positive self-projection.
For this, they shared the story of Mary, a young public speaker.
Mary was always confident among her friends.
However, when it came to public speaking, her confidence would waver.
Whenever she went on stage, her mind would go blank.
She would tremble, and her voice would shake; basically, she was very scared.
Mary had a mentor who told her something very interesting.
He said, “Mary, if you don’t project your inner
confidence, the audience will never take you seriously.
And to do this, you don’t just need confidence;
you need to pretend to have confidence.”
Show the lie as true, you are confident and slowly it will become your reality.
Now Mary took this thing to heart and she focused on doing the same the next time.
The next time she went on stage, she started
pretending that she is a confident powerful speaker.
And guess what.
When she started pretending, after some
time she started getting confident on her own.
This thing then
started getting noticed by others, due to which her talk also went well.
The audience started connecting
with her and she became a very successful public speaker.
Doctor Book told Aman, look, you will have doubts about all these
things that I have told you, whether these things will work or not.
Like that mentor, I
will also tell you that if nothing works, then start pretending, start faking.
They say, “Fake it until you make it.” When you fake something,
your subconscious mind doesn’t distinguish between what’s right or wrong.
If you want to become a good public speaker, act like you are one.
Fake the confidence of a good public speaker.
If you want to be a great salesman, fake it.
Gradually, that confidence
will start to come naturally, and it will begin to produce results.
This is what is called self-projection.
Project yourself
as a champion and gradually you will start becoming a champion and along with that.
But the last habit is the most important which is the positive self dimension.
After this he told Aman this story from the book itself.
There was a surgeon who was very famous in his field.
He used to top in medical school.
He had become a big name in the surgery world.
Every day
he performed surgeries, saved patients, and was highly respected by the world.
However, as his career grew, he started to ignore his personal life.
His entire focus remained solely on work.
He neglected his family, his happiness, and even his health.
Despite being a doctor, he stopped focusing on these aspects of his life.
He began to give less priority to these aspects, which led to a
decline in his overall happiness despite his professional achievements continuing
to grow.
As a result, his performance started to suffer as well.
He couldn’t spend time with his children, and his health began to deteriorate.
He realized that success doesn’t only mean excelling in one dimension of life.
Success also means having a balance in your life.
After realizing this, he began
to focus on his health along with his professional life.
He started spending time with his family, giving
attention to his children, and gradually restored his work-life balance.
And guess what?
His professional life also grew significantly larger than before.
So, remember this last thing, Aman: at the start, you might
focus heavily on just one dimension, like becoming a successful businessman.
You might need to dedicate most of your time to that.
However, at some point, realize that life isn’t just about business or money.
If you want to become a civil
winner, then you will have to work on other aspects of life as well.
You will have to keep improving them as well.
Now after listening to all these things, Aman who was feeling very negative, got
an inspiration. A positive attitude developed.
Due to listening to so many stories, he became very positive.
He said, “Sir, I will start implementing all these things.
But can you suggest one simple thing to help me apply all this in my life?” So,
the doctor book replied,
“I have created some affirmations based on these 10 qualities.
There are 10 affirmations that you should never use, never say.”
“On the other hand, there are 10
affirmations that you should keep saying to ensure your self-projection is right.
I have created affirmations related to all the 10 qualities I mentioned: Positive
Self-Awareness, Positive Self-Image, Positive Self-Esteem, Self-Expectation,
Self-Direction, Self-Motivation,
Self-Discipline, Self-Control, Self-Projection, and Self-Dimension.
What you need to do is...” For
the next 10 days, at least start applying these 10 affirmations in your life.

should never use in your life.
