Transcripts
so this year both companies Acer and
Asus did a fantastic job designing their
products and they made it particularly
difficult to choose the best option
between their absolute winners mid-range
gaming laptops in this video I will do
everything that's in my power to make it
easier for you
this time I won't be listing all their
respects only the facts and differences
that actually matter
also don't expect me to praise them too
much because even though they're the
best they still have their flows
first they come with the same CPU inside
it's the newest 12th gen 14 core chip
from Intel which is extremely powerful
and power efficient it uses different
types of cores which are called
performance cores and efficient cores
and the laptop switches between them
depending on the task it's a very smart
move until pulls off in their new
processor lineup makes living much
easier by correctly Distributing power
and saving battery resources next they
both come with Nvidia rtex 3060 rocking
6 gigs of vram on board but there is a
little difference between them the TUF
at 15 packs a 140 Watts total Graphics
power configuration of this GPU and
Nitro 5 is rocking slightly less
powerful version which is 130 Watts tgp
it doesn't make a major difference
neither in performance level nor in
temperatures and reloads but I think
it's one of the main reasons why the
Asus laptop is a bit more expensive
anyway this combo of CPU and GPU is
great and I don't think they're a better
pieces of Hardware to install in these
machines for the month later on we'll
also discuss how it performs in games
and here comes the first major
difference Asus duf gaming F15 comes
with the newest ddr5 type of Random
Access Memory working at 4 800 megahertz
when Acer Nitro 5 is only limited to
ddr4 3200 megahertz frequency type of
memory and these are not interchangeable
meaning if a laptop comes with a ddr4
type Ram right out of the box you cannot
upgrade it to ddr5 type of ram because
they have different pin layouts both
machines pack 16 gigs RAM and I think it
is enough for 95 of the tasks you could
possibly do with the laptop but when you
put them face to face when you do
something heavy like compiling codes
rendering 3D objects editing movies and
even gaming Asus actually feels more
responsive and fast
also yeah they both have two Ram slots
inside and it's operable up to 32 gigs
total talking about storage both laptops
fits are 512 gigabytes capacity pcie and
vme four generation drives and with such
fast units all operations involving
ingredient writing information files
that are performed rapidly fast also
each of the laptops provide a sweet
opportunity to easily upgrade storage by
installing another drive into the second
untaken slot painless upgrade is always
a great bonus
alright so we'll finish with the
hardware so now it's time to discuss
performance in games all titles were
tested by me personally and 1080p
resolution with the graphics settings
set to high preset not Ultra and
prankless picking I wouldn't call this
four to seven percent difference in
frame rate significant in some games you
could actually switch it to ultra
settings plus they both feature a Max
switch which allows to completely
eliminate the integrated into Graphics
boosts up the FPS by approximately seven
percent but makes the battery drain
faster
pretty cool feature if you know what
you're doing
and of course both laptops support VR
and are capable of live streaming games
at medium to high graphics
now one of the biggest difference is
these machines have is the screen and
it's always a painful aspect for me
because most cheap and mid-range laptops
they always feature this garbage screens
that I cannot even look at when a screen
of Asus TUF at 15 pretty much meets my
standard requirements 80905 panel has
almost made my eyes leak out it is not
bright and not color accurate enough for
my purposes but at least it has better
than average response time and high
refresh rate so I'd say it's suitable
for gaming
gaming and work with documents maybe
definitely a bad suit for Creative work
so yeah if you prefer better screens
that are actually Pleasant to look at
and those that you can use for making
different sorts of designs and in videos
and photos and so on maybe making some
extra money with that or something Asus
is an absolute winner here or maybe just
get a nice and vibrant external monitor
along with nitro5 or such projects it's
up to you
the next thing you need to know about is
the difference in cooling systems and
temperatures this laptops work at Under
loads while testing them in standard
mode both machines performed well
without succeeding permissible
temperatures however running tests and
playing games and performance mode they
both overheat and throttle due to
different reasons the problem with Asus
duf at 15 is that its feet are too small
and they don't create much of a space
underneath the laptop for nice airflow
when it's sitting on a desk
yes it has very low profile it's
minimalistic and it looks cool but when
you're into something heavy and unit at
top of the notch performance level
forget about its minimalism and bump up
the back of the laptop by an inch or two
it'll make a huge difference and with
this simple trick internal temperatures
will drop by as much as 10 degrees on
both turbo and performance modes
unfortunately with Acer Nitro 5 it's not
that easy the only ways to keep this
laptop away from troll land in
performance mode is to use a cooling pad
or undervolt the GPU and the latter one
doesn't make any sense at all to be
honest because if you're gonna do it
cutting the maximum power of this level
you shouldn't buy it in first place and
maybe look for a weaker laptop because
it's like keeping Abyss in a cage
both laptops are pretty loud under loads
but quiet on idle and performance simple
tasks once again all thanks to that
smart power distribution and switching
to efficiency CPU cores when needed also
just a little tip Asus TUF app 15 has
slightly better build quality I think
it's more durable and a better suit for
throwing into your bag as a student for
example
all other differences this laptops have
I wouldn't call them game changing they
are rather subjective for example I
really like the keyboard of TUF at 15 as
well as its overall design
it's not something that important it's
just some personal both laptops have
average speakers nothing special they
lack Biometrics like an IR webcam or a
fingerprint scanner and their touchpads
are pretty accurate also they have about
the same levels of battery life about
five to six hours in a mixed usage and
up to seven and a half hours watching
Netflix at medium brightness which is an
incredibly impressive result for laptops
of this class now the moral of this
story well let me put it like this I
feel like Asus TUF gaming F15 is a more
versatile laptop overall it's suitable
for a wider range of tasks plus as to me
it was a much more pleasant experience
spending time with it all thanks to
better screen and ergonomics however if
I wasn't making these videos for YouTube
and you know involved in the oldest
creative work I think I wouldn't care
that much about the screen and Acer
Nitro 5 screen is just fine for gaming
watching something and dealing with
personal things and although it does rig
our GPU and not the later generation Ram
it handles all tasks as good as Aces
once again as long as it is not involve
creative work so yeah don't overthink
although it's a little bit more
affordable it's still very good
also worth mentioning if you're getting
a laptop for a gaming only and maybe
building a full-size gaming setup is the
laptop in its heart definitely do not
overpay for TUF F50 Nitro 5 will do the
job as good links are the best deals on
both laptops are in the description box
down below they are updated every hour
and if there are any new discounts from
reliable sellers I will update the link
and you won't miss this discount so
maybe add this video to watch later
playlist so you won't lose it
also make sure to drop a like below the
video it'll help me out a lot Maybe
YouTube will recommend this video to
more people follow for more useful
content and if you need any help
choosing a laptop for yourself ask your
questions in the comment section down
below
peace out
