where i show you how to start your very
own google ads agency so today we're
talking about how to find ppc clients
without spending any of your own money
now for a lot of you who are just
getting started out that's the big key
right being able to go out and find new
clients for your agency without spending
any of your own hard-earned cash maybe
you're starting the business while
you're working another job maybe you're
just out of school whatever it may be
these are three tactics that you can use
to go out and find new ppc clients for
your agency today and make sure you
stick around to number three number
three is perhaps the most valuable one
so let's get started so first off number
one family friends and acquaintances now
i have worked in sales uh for years and
one thing i hated was when i'd go into a
job they're like okay call all your
family and friends while i absolutely
hate that tactic what you're doing in
this situation is you're not going out
and asking them for business maybe you
are maybe you have an uncle or something
that has a plumbing business and just
say you know what hey i'm starting this
new agency um i don't expect anything
for free
in fact what i will do is maybe you know
you might go up to them and say listen i
think i can get you more business doing
this uh running google ads and i'd like
to offer my services for free for you
for 30 days let me prove myself all you
pay is for your advertising spend and
then you can go out and you know prove
yourself and then after the first month
then you can come to an agreement on
what to charge them another way of doing
this is asking your family and friends
if they know of other business owners
where this could help them out and they
might say well what kind of businesses
are you looking for and you could say we
are looking for service companies or
somebody who owns an e-commerce company
whatever it might be you can put an
email out to those family and friends
and say hey i'm getting started with
this new agency we're just getting up
and running and i was wondering if you
know of anybody that could use our
services to help get them more business
we're talking about plumbers
electricians floor refinishing companies
whatever it might be and then when we
talk about acquaintances
this is something that i actually have
done about three or four times in fact
right when i was getting started out we
had a service guy come into our house to
do some work he happened to be the owner
of the service company and i was talking
to him and i just said hey how are you
guys marketing your business and he told
me a number of things i said hey would
you be willing to try google ads out
this is what it is and i took them over
to my computer and i showed them exactly
what google ads were
and he said absolutely i'm not kidding
when i say that was one of my first
clients and to this day so nine years
later they are still a client because we
still show them great returns on their
investment number two this is one of my
favorites offering a bounty or a
commission
paid out to anyone that helps you and
you might be like well how does that
work
so i would send that email out to my
family and friends
asking them if they knew of anybody and
then on top of that i would say
for anyone who refers me a client that
signs up for you know once they've paid
once they've paid us if we're doing 30
days for free obviously they don't get
anything but after that once they pay us
then what i would do is i would take
some of the setup fee and i would give
it to the referring person so i might
say something like if you know of
anybody that we could help out you know
service company we would be willing to
offer 500 to anyone who signs up with us
and you might be like wow 500 bucks
that that's a lot of money and it is
however
i'm getting a setup fee to set the
campaign up for my clients and once i
get that setup fee i'm taking a big
chunk of that and giving it to people
who refer me those clients so i'm not
getting necessarily taking the money out
of my pocket i am just taking it out of
the setup fees that the client is going
to be giving me or a chunk of the first
month's management fee so if the
management fee is 750 i might say hey
i'll give you know this person over here
400 or 350 or whatever it might be this
really gets people starting to think
they're like okay well all i have to do
is just refer this guy i like this
person
i trust them i'll refer them to my uncle
who has this plumbing company and
possibly make 500
this works extremely well but don't just
send one email out and forget about it
this is one of those things where you
send an email out to your family and
friends or whoever
and people just forget about it so you
know a week or two later send a reminder
email hey we're offering this 30 day
referral fee um but it's only we only
have two weeks left do you know of
anybody then the week before you know
that 30 days up i'd send another one out
keep following up because as you give
send it out to people that's not
necessarily the first thing on their
list right they are uh you know they got
families and jobs and friends and and
that might not be the first thing that
they are thinking about all the time so
just give them a gentle reminder also at
the end of the email i will put hey i'm
just reaching out to you i'm not putting
you on a list this is not something i'm
going to be marketing out to you guys
all the time i'm just trying to get my
business up and running people truly
want to help others that they know out
especially if they're people that like
you they want to help you out they want
to help you get going they want to see
you successful but offering that
commission
uh to help you know to help bring new
clients in that works extremely well and
the third tactic which might be the most
powerful one is using services like
homeadvisor and google ads
to
target people who are number one already
marketing their business and number two
already spending money and you may think
well how does that work they're already
doing it why would they need me a lot of
these business owners are actually doing
this themselves they're you doing google
ads themselves but number one they're
not doing it very well and number two
they're wasting a ton of money and they
number three they really don't want to
do it they would much rather have
somebody that could show them a good
return on investment and manage it for
them so that they don't have to think
about it as i said before they're
already advertising they understand the
value of marketing their company i know
that may sound weird because i tell a
lot of people this all the time a lot of
people will start a brand new company
and never market it they believe that if
they just start a company that they're
going to become rich that they're going
to get new clients they build a website
and people will just flock to them that
couldn't be further from the truth they
need to go out and actively find people
who need their service that's where you
come in but people who already
understand the value of marketing their
company and are actively uh pursuing
that or putting their company out there
with advertising dollars behind it
you don't have to sell them on the value
of marketing their company they already
understand that they know that so you
don't have to sell them on that
they already are using google ads they
understand the power of it but they're
probably not doing it very well so
that's the second part if you're trying
to sell the companies who number one
aren't doing any marketing and number
two who don't have a marketing budget
you have to sell those two things you
have to say hey you need to be marketing
your company and you have to get them to
agree to it number two you have to agree
to get them to spend money to do it and
that is a big task if you're going out
and checking finding these companies who
are already using a service like
homeadvisor who are already putting that
marketing dollar behind it it's much
easier to convert those people to say
hey why don't you give us a try because
a lot of business owners really hate
using homeadvisor homeadvisor is a
service that
if i go to homeadvisor and say i need a
plumber they will take my information
and they will send it out to
three to five plumbers in my area and
say hey this guy needs a plumber and
they will charge every one of those
companies
40 50 75 a lead and every one of those
companies who got me as a lead will have
to pay for that lead as soon as i hit
enter within about 30 seconds my phone
will start ringing because all of these
companies are trying to contact me and
it's basically whoever calls me first is
gonna win right i have a problem i have
somebody who called me i need them to
come in and fix this and that's it the
other four companies are kind of left
out in the dust when you're selling
google ads you say listen i see you're
already doing homeadvisor would you be
interested in trying out google ads
number one the cost per lead is usually
much much less and number two but
probably the most important thing is the
leads are going to be exclusive to you
they're not going out to anybody else
they're only going to you so the way i
will do that is i will get on a service
like home advisor and i will go through
and start finding plumbers in a certain
area and start contacting them the other
way is going and finding people who are
already doing google ads so i might look
up in my local area plumbers
on google see who's running ads take a
look at the ads and if the ads are poor
or poorly done or not using all the
information i will contact that person
say hey my name is mike mancini i'm a
google ads agency owner in your area and
i saw you were running
google ads hey don't worry i didn't
click them i didn't want to charge you
any money i know how valuable those are
but what i noticed was you were doing x
y and z wrong is that something that
you'd like some help with because we'd
be willing to do a 30-day free trial
where if we don't show you know you just
pay for your advertising spend and if we
don't show you a good return on your
investment we'll we'll happily uh step
back and you can you know keep running
those or
uh you know we could take that off your
plate because really all we have to do
is get you one or two extra clients more
than you're getting to pay for our
services and i believe we can do that so
