What is the third reason that can cause the rear hatch to get stuck according to the video?
-The third reason is the latch assembly being dirty or filled with dust and dirt, which can prevent it from functioning properly.
What is the alternative method shown in the video to perform repairs without crawling inside the vehicle?
-The alternative method shown is using a piece of wire with hooks on both ends to grab the moving part of the latch, providing the extra help needed to release the hatch.
Why is the wire with hooks considered helpful in this repair scenario?

hello friend welcome back to total
maintenance YouTube channel here is 2005
Toyota Sequoia and let's focus on that
typical problem which keeps happening to
everybody it is a rear hatch the rear
hatch gets stuck here are two most
common things first one is that this
lever which is here the plastic leather
brakes inside I the hook which pulls the
cable breaks again there will be
multiple reasons for that opening number
two if it was replaced with the steel
lever steel pans and again it's not able
to pull that cable enough and release
the hatch the third reason involves the
latch right this is the assembly and see
the total part for it right and I bought
his vehicle just few days ago and it was
included they already bought the
previous owner bought a replacement part
so obviously I have the case when this
is probably filled up with dust dirt
right it's very dirty so I'm assuming
that's the problem
now how you open to perform the repairs
in general you see the videos people are
crawling
moving right that's not very easy to do
I choose the other way right since the
flash is not broken I can see it's not
pulling the table enough I look for that
table and I put it through this opening
I will try to show it to you I don't
expect I will be able right opening is
very small but the cable it's coming
from here right it's basically coming
from the bottom goes this way up to
somewhere here there that's where behind
this handle right the handle
mechanically pulls on the table it's an
iconic you know never throw away
anything right who knows where I even
found this piece of wire but it's a
solid
both sides has small hooks so let's see
all you have to do to grab that moving
part of that latch with the hook there
is that extra help which was needed
which that handling the door couldn't
provide and look it's open I didn't have
to wrestle all these door panels pulling
them right being inside which is
incorrect way anyway they should be
removed when the hatch is up there so
stepping back right this is opened the
problem is not here this is just a fixed
hinge the problem is this time right
here this wasn't maintained properly
nobody lubricated forever right and this
is actually first time I was able open
this hatch because I just bought this
vehicle and this was stuck right so the
wire was very helpful now I see more
damages on the better straight right all
the mess from the dogs which were here
and damaging all this so I will keep
vacuuming and cleaning and of course
this repair that will be part of
different video thanks for watching
today makes you how to subscribe because
I have way more about Toyota's coming
your way
see you later
