Transcripts

play00:00

Once I decided that networking was the path and I enjoyed it

play00:02

that I had to get this CCIE.

play00:04

I didn't realize there were several of them.

play00:06

I just thought it was the one thing and I could finally measure myself and my

play00:10

success and say I accomplished something.

play00:12

Good job, right?

play00:17

This is journey to point B where you can find success stories

play00:21

of people who have achieved the same goals you are striving for.

play00:25

I'm your host, Lucia Csoma, and it's my hope that these stories

play00:30

will provide motivation for your own journey to point B.

play00:34

Let's begin.

play00:35

Andre, welcome.

play00:37

So very nice to have you on the show.

play00:39

Yeah, it's a pleasure to be here.

play00:41

Thank you for inviting me.

play00:42

I know that you have achieved something that only a few people in the world

play00:46

achieved it, which is not get one Cisco certify expert certification,

play00:52

but 4 And I would love for us to have this conversation about your journey

play00:59

to achieving those certifications

play01:02

That sounds great.

play01:04

Yeah.

play01:05

And was wondering if you can start us off with just sharing with us, what was the

play01:11

motivation to even start on this journey to these prestigious certifications?

play01:17

I did a little bit of research and I saw that, Cisco

play01:21

Certified Expert Certification.

play01:23

They are the equivalent of the bar exam in law.

play01:26

So what, what, what drove you to this specific one?

play01:31

thanks for asking.

play01:32

So I started my career very late and I didn't know what I wanted to do.

play01:37

And once I decided that I wanted to be in networking, I like to be the underdog and

play01:41

I always want to go for the ultimate goal.

play01:43

And so.

play01:45

The CCIE at the time was the ultimate goal.

play01:48

There was no, no, uh, better known certification people would say, Hey,

play01:52

if you have that certification, you're automatically accepted into like the

play01:55

doctorate programs in these universities.

play01:57

And there was a lot of urban legends around it.

play02:00

Um, very difficult to achieve.

play02:03

And I realized that I like networking and I like learning.

play02:07

And so Just like the network allows us to connect to all of the different

play02:12

people, or maybe we're connecting through networks today, that's how

play02:14

we're performing in this way together.

play02:16

Um, it created an opportunity for me to be able to better connect with

play02:20

audiences that I, and people that I had never been able to connect with before.

play02:25

And so it was clear, once I decided that networking was the path and I

play02:28

enjoyed it, that I had to get this CCIE.

play02:31

I didn't realize there were several of them.

play02:33

I just thought it was the one thing and I could finally measure myself and my

play02:37

success and say, I accomplished something.

play02:39

Good job, right?

play02:40

Um, yeah, that's what started me off on the journey.

play02:44

I assume that it's a long process.

play02:47

So what, what did you do?

play02:49

How did you take that dream of like, okay, this is the goal that you want

play02:55

to go for this specific certification, like the highest that you could

play02:59

find to actually achieving it.

play03:02

Okay.

play03:03

I think like many people that probably that would be interested in this

play03:06

topic that might be listening to this podcast, you have to have a fundamental

play03:12

understanding of networking first.

play03:13

And there are so many certification programs in the industry.

play03:16

So my approach was to learn and experiment with obtaining

play03:19

these different certifications.

play03:21

The CCIE certifications, unlike any other in the industry, maybe

play03:24

now there's some that have mimicked that, but it's a practical exam.

play03:28

So you have to actually get your hands on the equipment and configure

play03:32

it and do these kinds of things, whereas most of the exams are written.

play03:35

They're testing your knowledge and theory and application of that.

play03:39

Uh, but it's multiple choice typically.

play03:41

So.

play03:43

I realized right away I need to get some practical hands on experience.

play03:46

I didn't have that level of experience that an expert must have.

play03:52

And equipment is expensive.

play03:54

So I recognize that I need to, I need to make sure that I'm investing in equipment.

play03:58

I need to figure out, you know, what are all of the topics, uh,

play04:02

you know, that are being published as part of this exam blueprint.

play04:05

You know, what are they?

play04:07

Who has materials available for learning?

play04:09

Uh, it was very confusing because there's so many things

play04:12

at the time that were available.

play04:14

Now I'm blessed at the time there were a lot of things available and people that

play04:17

came before me, you know, they either had the experience or they didn't and

play04:20

getting the equipment wasn't as easy, uh, as you know, what it was for me.

play04:24

It did require investment.

play04:26

So yeah, I had to have a plan.

play04:27

I had to make sure that, you know, I was fully ready to go and invested.

play04:31

I wasn't concerned about my willingness to commit.

play04:34

I've always been a very extreme person.

play04:36

Anybody knows me would probably be laughing if they hear me say

play04:38

that because I'm very extreme.

play04:39

I'm old or nothing.

play04:40

A lot of times I can become very tunnel visioned and focused on whatever

play04:44

it is that I'm, I'm working on.

play04:46

And in the past, you know, ignore the rest of life and just think,

play04:49

think about that one thing.

play04:51

So once I targeted, I just knew I need to have a plan.

play04:54

I need to understand what materials are available.

play04:55

I need to free up some investment.

play04:58

If I didn't have all the money at the time, it's like, how am I going to

play05:00

afford to buy the equipment that I need?

play05:03

And then stick with the plan, not get distracted.

play05:05

And what I mean by that is questioning myself.

play05:09

Um, I was a little bit worried that did I make the right

play05:12

investment in the right equipment?

play05:13

Am I working with the right mentors, teachers that are out there and making

play05:17

the right investments, you know, is this going to give me everything that I need?

play05:21

Should I be doing something else instead?

play05:23

And so it was this, you know, working through that, um, the doubt, I guess

play05:28

some self doubt, staying focused.

play05:33

Yeah, that's how I started.

play05:34

I got the plan and, and I knew that also I need to really dedicate the time.

play05:39

Uh, it can't be something that I do a little bit today and a little bit tomorrow

play05:44

and then don't do it for several days and then work really hard on the weekend.

play05:47

I mean, it had to be every day I was dedicating time because as soon as I

play05:51

had to learn something, I forget it.

play05:54

The process was anything, any kind of learning process.

play05:58

A lot of times it's learn and then forget part of it, then

play06:01

learn it again and then forget it.

play06:02

That's just the learning process.

play06:04

Um, so every day had to be consistent and several hours of dedicated time.

play06:13

You mentioned, Andre, a lot of questions that you had a lot of doubts,

play06:16

like, is this the right equipment?

play06:17

Am I making the right investment?

play06:19

What helped you answer those questions?

play06:22

I think ultimately it was accepting the fact that there will be no perfect set of materials out there

play06:34

but that there was really great material out there that can give me the foundation and then I had a blueprint that was published by someone at Cisco so I know

play06:46

best whether I have an understanding or I don't have an understanding.

play06:50

I know that.

play06:52

I might not want to admit it all the time that I'm not so strong on these things.

play06:55

And I might prefer to spend most of my time configuring things

play06:58

that I'm very comfortable with because it builds confidence.

play07:02

And it's not as fun to fail constantly, configuring things and forgetting

play07:06

things and not understanding things.

play07:08

But yeah, that's what it was.

play07:10

It was just accepting that there's no material that's going to cover everything.

play07:14

I have to choose one, go all the way through, get the skills,

play07:17

build the foundation, look at the blueprint, see where I'm missing.

play07:21

Find other opportunities to take advantage of different learning material or teachers

play07:25

out there, some of the services that they might provide to be able to help, you

play07:29

know, better understand other things.

play07:31

Um, or even in some cases, rent equipment, uh, at the time because I couldn't afford

play07:38

the kind of equipment that was needed to be able to cover off on certain topics.

play07:42

And so it's just agreeing that good enough.

play07:44

There's a good enough layer that needs to be, you know, achieved.

play07:48

To be able to build a foundation and then everything else is just

play07:50

a journey like I need to look at it and be very real with myself.

play07:54

Um, it's no different today.

play07:56

It's the same experience every time I, it's always the same for me.

play08:00

It's build a foundation, accept it's not going to be exactly what I

play08:04

want it to be right from the get go.

play08:06

And, and then be very mindful of where I have the gaps and

play08:09

focus my energy on those things.

play08:11

Yeah.

play08:12

One idea that I loved and I got introduced to it a few years ago by Craig

play08:17

Groeschel , he used the phrase GETMO, which stand for good enough to move on.

play08:23

On that oftentimes we get into all these details and we focus on the

play08:29

20 percent but doing 80 percent of the work already gets us there.

play08:33

And we just need to launch because oftentimes we spend more times

play08:36

in those 20 last 20 percent than we, then it took us in those 80%.

play08:41

And that's just like overthinking, just not taking the, the action,

play08:46

getting the perfect thing or getting all the pieces together.

play08:50

And it just The results that we want to get so good enough

play08:55

to get moving and it seems like that's exactly what you've done.

play09:00

A quick pause here.

play09:02

I have a favor to ask you if you resonated with anything in this episode I'm asking

play09:06

you to please subscribe to this channel.

play09:09

This will help me bring you more guests with more inspirational stories to

play09:14

help you on your journey to point B.

play09:17

Now, let's get back to our conversation.

play09:19

How long it took you from the moment that you had this idea to the

play09:24

moment you passed and you already had the certification in your hand.

play09:29

Thanks for asking that question.

play09:30

So, I had this dream, I suppose, as soon as I made a decision to get into

play09:34

networking, which was in early 2000s.

play09:37

But I didn't start my career until very late.

play09:39

Um, you know, there was the .Com bubble burst and all of these flood of

play09:44

talent in the market with experience.

play09:45

And I wasn't going to get a job with coming out of a network engineering

play09:48

program from the secondary education.

play09:51

I went to a university again after I got my bachelor and some MBA

play09:55

work to go and pursue networking.

play09:57

And when I came out of that program, the market was flooded with talent.

play10:00

So I wasn't going to be able to compete with that.

play10:02

But the moment that I started the journey and I attended that program, I

play10:05

knew I have to get the certification.

play10:08

Now, it was on hold for a long time.

play10:10

When I started working in, uh, when was it?

play10:13

Uh, 2003 was my first time I started working.

play10:16

2002, actually, was my first job.

play10:19

I had my hands on experience with networking, my first real networking job.

play10:22

And at that time, um, I started going after it again.

play10:26

So, there are different levels of certification.

play10:29

There was a CCNA, Network Associate.

play10:34

Um, and then there was a CCIE, and you don't have to go in

play10:38

this order, uh, for the expert.

play10:40

You can go anytime you're ready, but I decided to go in the order because

play10:44

I felt like if I do that, I can cover off on all of the topics that

play10:47

are relevant and build my knowledge.

play10:48

And it's proven they've documented it for a reason.

play10:50

I have to trust that they have, they know better than I do what's best, right?

play10:54

In terms of the learning journey and the topics that need to be covered.

play10:58

I did find later on when I mentored others that.

play11:00

Just the idea of giving back.

play11:01

You want to just grab the actual blueprint for the CCIE.

play11:13

Is that gives us structure and it gives a shorter term goals and objective.

play11:19

For some people that is very important.

play11:21

I need to have these milestones.

play11:23

For other people that's not as important.

play11:25

For me in the martial arts, you know, sometimes, uh, here in the United

play11:28

States, they give the belt away.

play11:30

It's not just the United States, many places, they give the white belt, red

play11:33

belt, yellow belt, these different belts, colored black belt, but when I studied

play11:37

the martial arts, there were no such, there was no such thing as a belt system.

play11:42

You and your master, you know, your level.

play11:46

Um, so that just depends on what, what motivates you for me.

play11:51

I just want, I'm motivated by, I'm learning, and I know I'm

play11:53

learning and I feel I'm learning.

play11:54

And when I feel stuck that I'm not learning.

play11:56

I want some acknowledgement and validation from somebody that I trust,

play11:59

like my master, my coach, to tell me, yeah, you know, you're making progress.

play12:03

You don't see it.

play12:03

Let me help show you why I'm telling you that's, I'm not just

play12:06

trying to make you feel good.

play12:08

I'm, I'm gonna show you that something maybe you can't see.

play12:12

Um, But yeah, that's, that's how I approached it.

play12:14

So I'd say I started at that time, uh, in 2002 going through these certifications.

play12:20

And by the time, uh, it was 2010 when I got my first one.

play12:25

So yeah, and then those last two years, um, it was two years of pounding.

play12:32

It was non stop, like that was my life.

play12:35

Uh, at the time I didn't work for Cisco.

play12:37

I work for Cisco now.

play12:39

For the last 13 years.

play12:41

Um, I had gotten it just before that time.

play12:44

So maybe it was 2009, 2008.

play12:46

I can't even remember when I got the certification now, but it was,

play12:48

it was before I came to Cisco.

play12:51

Um, I had already had two of the expert certifications, so they

play12:53

must have been 2008 maybe even.

play12:57

So yeah, it was two years of pounding, and uh, to the point where Cisco was my

play13:02

life, and even my dog's name was Cisco.

play13:07

But I, but I worked for a competitor at the time, which,

play13:09

yeah, so it was very funny, right?

play13:11

I worked for a competitor holding the super expert certifications

play13:14

and, uh, my dog's name was Cisco.

play13:19

You wouldn't take your dog to, company parties.

play13:22

No.

play13:23

Uh, probably not, probably not a good

play13:24

you away.

play13:28

Andre, in this process, it's been like about seven, eight years from

play13:33

the dream to actually accomplish it.

play13:35

If I, if my math is correct, you know, what would you say was your biggest

play13:40

challenge that you had to overcome?

play13:42

I think it comes down to motivation.

play13:45

True motivation.

play13:46

What I mean by that is,

play13:47

Everybody is motivated by different things.

play13:50

I'm not just motivated by a big goal.

play13:52

I'm excited by very complex things that are difficult to achieve that excites

play13:58

me and I gravitate towards those things.

play14:00

I want to, I want to achieve them.

play14:02

I want to, I want to be the one to be able to achieve something that others

play14:06

maybe I have a difficult time achieving, especially if it's an area of interest.

play14:13

But it's not enough to motivate me to actually commit all of the time

play14:17

and energy And we need to understand, I think everybody should understand

play14:22

what it is that really motivates them.

play14:23

It's going to make sure that every day you sit in front of that computer

play14:26

and you do whatever you need to do or whatever your schedule is.

play14:29

It doesn't have to be as extreme as me, right?

play14:31

I think that there were sacrifices that I made that maybe I didn't have to make.

play14:35

I don't have regrets, but everybody's different and I did sacrifice many

play14:39

things in life based on those, the way that I approached this.

play14:42

But I'd say the thing that gets me moving more than anything else is How is

play14:48

what I'm doing going to benefit others?

play14:51

almost like a mind trick that I have to do.

play14:53

It's a hack that I have to do.

play14:55

And I've learned this early on.

play14:56

And I, I think it really became clear to me during this certification

play15:01

journey is that if I want to go for it for my own benefit to

play15:06

learn, then yeah, I'm motivated.

play15:08

It's exciting.

play15:08

But I won't make the time because somebody else's priorities

play15:11

always come before my own.

play15:13

Somebody's calling me.

play15:14

They need me to go and work on something.

play15:15

Let me go and do that.

play15:16

I can put this off.

play15:18

Oh, now I need to help with that.

play15:19

Let me go and do that because I really feel excited about, uh, serving others,

play15:24

you know, and seeing that I'm benefiting and that I've had me some impact.

play15:28

So the trick for me was combining the two is that if, if I am able to

play15:32

obtain this level of understanding, I can, I can, I can, this certification

play15:39

at the time changes lives.

play15:41

There are people that their life is never the same afterwards because

play15:45

they've obtained the certification and the amount of opportunities

play15:47

they have in the industry.

play15:50

It's like crazy.

play15:51

Like everybody wants this person to work for them.

play15:54

So I recognize that if I obtain this thing, I have an opportunity

play15:58

to mentor others and help them to achieve it as well.

play16:00

And that could, I can't touch everyone, but that could in

play16:03

some way have a tremendous impact on another person's life.

play16:07

And that's what motivated me.

play16:09

It sounds a little bit cheesy, but those that, those that know me know,

play16:13

um, those that know me and that have, you know, I've mentored over

play16:15

the years and they, they will, they will be able to testify to that.

play16:19

Um, so it's, it's true.

play16:22

So it's honest.

play16:22

Most of the things, that's my hack every time is, okay, how do

play16:26

I make this about somebody else?

play16:27

How do I make sure that I'm making an impact, a bigger impact with

play16:30

whatever it is that I'm doing?

play16:31

And, uh, that's, that's what got me going.

play16:34

Yeah, it's beautiful.

play16:36

It reminds me of the saying that it's greater pleasure to give than to receive.

play16:42

So for you to be able to bring this into the world, and I have known you

play16:46

just for a few months, I think more than half a year or something like that,

play16:50

that LinkedIn and, um, What I quickly was able to see in you is this desire

play16:57

that you have to share your knowledge to share what you have and put a dent in

play17:03

the universe with your positivity, with your encouragement, with your mentorship.

play17:08

So hearing that that was your motivation during this process as well, it's

play17:14

completely aligned with your personal brand, if I can say like that.

play17:18

Definitely.

play17:19

It's very aligned.

play17:21

Andre, if someone from the listeners, are discouraged and they are not

play17:25

yet ready to take the first step.

play17:27

What would be your advice to them if you were to mentor them?

play17:33

always the same.

play17:35

I ran a mentorship program for several years.

play17:38

We built a community that was a pay it forward culture.

play17:41

You come and you attend to this.

play17:43

We called it Ask a CCIE.

play17:45

And it was a mentoring community and all we really had was a forum.

play17:51

And I had structured a spreadsheet at the time, which was the blueprint.

play17:56

And you could color code it.

play17:57

What level of comfort do you have with these topics?

play18:00

You need to be honest with yourself.

play18:02

And then I would, I find most people have a really hard time knowing where to start.

play18:08

So all I was really doing in all honesty as part of this mentorship program

play18:11

is I was helping people to select out of a certain piece of material.

play18:16

The material was from Narvik Kachorians.

play18:18

He had a kind of a soup to nuts.

play18:21

He's a very famous CCI instructor, by the way.

play18:23

And he had a soup to nuts, uh, book, very comprehensive.

play18:26

Like every technology area you learn to configure it and

play18:29

you go through these labs.

play18:30

Yes,

play18:31

So what I would do is I'd just, I'd just sign homework.

play18:34

I'd say, you know, everybody, you are, you're accountable to one another.

play18:37

We're a community.

play18:37

We're gonna come together once or twice a week and do things live.

play18:41

I'm not gonna lecture you.

play18:42

You're coming, you're the te, you're the teacher and the student.

play18:46

So we're gonna be almost playing video games together, but it's not video games.

play18:49

It's, I'm gonna bring up the equipment in front of you.

play18:51

I'm not gonna touch anything until you tell me what to type.

play18:54

So if you need me to type in a command, you need to tell me what to type.

play18:57

Raise your hand if you know what it is.

play18:59

Lucia, you raised your hand.

play19:00

What's it?

play19:00

And you said to me, okay, write this.

play19:02

I say, okay.

play19:03

I say, is it, Hey, who's next?

play19:05

Like, what else should we do?

play19:06

What do we do next?

play19:07

Raise your hand.

play19:08

And so everything I was driving the environment, but I'd give

play19:11

them homework ahead of time.

play19:12

I'd say, you need to come prepared.

play19:14

So you need to cover this material.

play19:15

And then I will give you challenges that you will have to accomplish as

play19:19

a team, uh, as part of this working session and play time, like play time.

play19:24

And, um, it was all free, of course, um, you know, and it was, it was great.

play19:31

It just allowed me to connect with people.

play19:32

We had a lot of fun together.

play19:33

We all learned.

play19:34

I think I gained the most.

play19:36

I learned, although I had their expert certifications, that's

play19:39

when the real learning started is when I started teaching.

play19:42

Um, so I just encourage people to be part of a community to be short and sweet.

play19:46

And there are communities out there already, like the learning network.

play19:49

There's a Cisco Learning Network.

play19:51

Somebody types that.

play19:52

And there are a bunch of forums and knowledge articles and free training.

play19:55

Some of my content, even as I'm there is free training, recorded

play19:58

learning sessions overall community.

play20:01

So there's more, uh, relevant probably today content out there for some of

play20:05

the newer topics focus areas, but definitely check out the learning network.

play20:10

Don't be afraid to start your own community.

play20:13

Um, if you're motivated like I am by helping others, then

play20:17

you show up to help others.

play20:18

You're all teachers, you're all students.

play20:21

And, uh, enjoy the process.

play20:23

Don't put artificial pressure, but you need to, you do need to

play20:25

assign some, some goals every week.

play20:28

And the other thing is, don't just focus in one week on

play20:30

everything new, new, new, new, new.

play20:32

Because it can be quite discouraging.

play20:35

Every time I'm trying to learn something new and it's taking

play20:39

me longer than I expected and I'm not quite understanding it.

play20:42

I like to also bring in some things that I'm good at.

play20:45

So, I'm reviewing something that I already know.

play20:48

Can I do it faster?

play20:50

Can I throw a little bit of a challenge on it and then still do it?

play20:53

And so then I feel like I'm, I'm further mastering this area.

play20:57

I feel good.

play20:57

Look at me, I've made some progress.

play20:59

I can do this.

play20:59

I didn't forget it.

play21:01

And now I'm learning something else.

play21:02

It's difficult.

play21:04

And at one day I can go, Well, now on my spreadsheet, it's

play21:07

no longer orange or yellow.

play21:10

It's green.

play21:11

Okay.

play21:12

Yeah.

play21:12

And so just seeing that sometimes helps as well.

play21:16

Yeah, so what I hear is get connected to a community because

play21:20

Absolutely.

play21:22

you know that I've I share this quote a lot.

play21:26

It's it's it becomes cheesy for me, but I love it.

play21:29

And I would always share it is that you alone can do it,

play21:32

but you cannot do it alone.

play21:34

So when you when you connect with a community.

play21:38

It, it, it really makes a difference.

play21:40

I know that in my business, like in my building, my coaching business,

play21:43

having this community where I can come and freely share the struggles,

play21:47

the successes, it's important.

play21:49

The other thing that I hear from you is hands on.

play21:52

I make sure that it's not just theory, that you actually get your hands dirty

play21:56

and you start playing with, uh, the equipment or, and then, um, celebrate,

play22:05

celebrate your accomplishments.

play22:07

With those exercises that you said, like, get to get something that you've

play22:10

learned previous weeks and then get a time to enjoy it and to really celebrate

play22:14

and really pat yourself on the shoulder, like how, how far you've came and then

play22:20

share, which is exactly what you're doing, like sharing your, your knowledge that

play22:25

can help you get to the master level.

play22:28

Yeah, absolutely.

play22:30

That's almost like a mantra now.

play22:31

That's why people love to see that hashtag#LearnShareGrow, learn,

play22:33

share, grow when I post things.

play22:35

These days, my interest is more into some of the things that interested me before my

play22:40

career, more around the software topics, if you will, like emotional intelligence

play22:46

and mindfulness and things like that.

play22:48

So I've evolved in the way that I use LinkedIn.

play22:50

I used to post a lot of things on technology and my connection

play22:54

to the universe was really.

play22:55

Through all of those expert certifications, since they were such a

play22:57

big part of my life, and I was every day focusing on that expertise and trying

play23:01

to obtain this mastery that was always out of my grasp, regardless of how many

play23:06

certifications I obtained, I always never felt like I mastered any of it.

play23:10

Um, and so these days I spend more of my time on that, but

play23:14

the mantra hasn't changed.

play23:15

It's still, you know, learn, um, share what you learn that motivates me to

play23:20

to learn and then through that process of learning and sharing, I'm growing

play23:25

and as I'm growing, I'm learning more.

play23:27

And, uh, so it's just, it's not in really any specific order because it could be

play23:31

in any order, just learn, share, grow.

play23:32

But for me, it does seem to be learn, share, grow, learn, share,

play23:36

Mm hmm.

play23:37

From a motivation perspective, it's share, learn, grow.

play23:42

So,

play23:43

Mm hmm.

play23:44

what is one of the goals that you're currently pursuing?

play23:48

Andre.

play23:49

I would say the biggest goal I'm pursuing now is taking, uh, having

play23:53

a bit more balance in my day.

play23:55

Um, I've never had a balanced, uh, life from that perspective,

play24:00

like in a balanced day.

play24:02

If you look at my life over the course of...

play24:05

10 years period or something like that.

play24:07

You, you, you, you see balance through high highs and other highs.

play24:12

It's transitioning from one big goal to the next.

play24:15

There's really never a downtime.

play24:16

Um, and this downtime, I just need time to connect with myself.

play24:21

So my biggest goal is to be, take more time to reflect, uh, to write down

play24:26

what it is that I'm reflecting on.

play24:28

And then stay true to my mantra, just share what it is that I'm learning as I

play24:31

go through those experiences, um, in case they might benefit someone in some way.

play24:38

Mm-hmm.

play24:39

That's it.

play24:39

That's my biggest goal right now.

play24:41

I, I'd love to be able to do that and, um, it becomes just habit, habitual, and

play24:49

then go after maybe another big goal, but in a way that it doesn't sacrifice that.

play24:55

Mm-hmm.

play24:56

. Mm-hmm.

play24:57

the approach doesn't, I don't sacrifice that, that, uh, It just becomes habitual

play25:01

and part of who I am and how I live and, but, and then whatever else I

play25:05

pursue, I do it in a way I don't have to sacrifice those, that, that focus

play25:09

it's a healthier way of living for me today.

play25:11

I wouldn't change the way that I did it before just who I am.

play25:13

I learned a lot through those experiences.

play25:15

Um.

play25:17

Everybody has to honor themselves and be authentic to themselves

play25:20

and you can, we should be mindful that there are sacrifices.

play25:23

Absolutely there are sacrifices, but, uh, today in this stage of my life,

play25:26

no, I want to be healthier in terms of having more balance and, um, and just

play25:32

have more fun all the time with whatever it is that I'm learning and sharing.

play25:37

Um, so it's not as rigid if you will.

play25:41

Like I will get this done no matter what I can, I can go through any obstacle

play25:45

and I will do it headfirst, you know, and I don't care about the impact of it.

play25:49

I'm going to, I'm going to get there.

play25:51

Andre if some of the listeners would love to get in touch with

play25:55

you, what you have to share through Learn, Share, Grow, what would be the

play26:00

best way for them to get connected?

play26:05

I think the, I'm very open to connecting people on LinkedIn.

play26:08

Um, I do get hit.

play26:10

Sometimes I fall for getting hit by the people that are out there, you know,

play26:13

trying to collect private information from me or spam me or these things.

play26:16

But.

play26:17

Uh, you know, like I'm open to connecting with pretty much everyone on LinkedIn.

play26:21

Um, I'm not a person that checks email, uh, even in the corporate world.

play26:25

I don't check email very much.

play26:26

And if somebody tells me there's an email, uh, but yeah, I'm available on LinkedIn.

play26:31

If somebody wanted to follow, you know what it is that I'm

play26:33

posting, they could just follow up the, actually I did it strong.

play26:35

You could follow hashtags on LinkedIn.

play26:37

I didn't know that, but you can, uh, you can just follow hashtag #LearnShareGrow.

play26:41

And most, I mean, I'm not the only one posting with that hashtag, but

play26:46

I am probably the one that posts the most with that hashtag consistently.

play26:50

So follow that, uh, reach out to me on LinkedIn mail.

play26:53

If you just want to have a start a conversation, I don't

play26:56

spend a lot of time in there.

play26:57

So I'm not one of those guys that, uh, even any kind of texting or writing.

play27:02

I'm not like a back and forth and back and forth and back and forth all day.

play27:04

You know, I'm not that kind of person.

play27:06

I'd rather have a conversation if it makes sense.

play27:09

Um, I typically don't have time these days for mentoring.

play27:13

I get a lot of requests for mentoring, um, that come through

play27:16

like I could love to have a mentor.

play27:18

Would you be my mentor?

play27:19

I just don't have the time and energy to put in, uh, but, but if there's

play27:23

something that I can help with a perspective or just want to shoot some

play27:26

ideas back and forth, that helps me to grow as you're learning and sharing

play27:30

and you're sharing it with me and I can share it back then I'm growing as well.

play27:34

So I'm very open to those kinds of things.

play27:37

Wonderful.

play27:38

Thank you so much, Andre.

play27:39

Thank you for sharing your journey, your ups and downs and lesson learns and

play27:45

your advice for people that will, will Pursue such a prestigious certification.

play27:53

And it seems like you need to be invested.

play27:56

You really need to get connected with your why.

play27:59

And I believe that what you shared would help other people really get

play28:03

connected to that, really understand for themselves and then understand

play28:07

what will the journey intake and then get, get to where they want to be.

play28:13

Thank you.

play28:14

I really honor your time.

play28:16

Yeah, I honor the opportunity and thank you for the friendship.

play28:19

It's just so cool that, uh, We've never met in person yet, but we're

play28:22

able to connect in this way through LinkedIn and, um, you know, I consider

play28:26

you to be a friend now and I look forward to supporting you in any way

play28:30

I can and keep doing great things.

play28:33

I appreciate it Andre.

play28:35

Thank you.
