Transcripts
okay so Samsung launched their latest
Galaxy a series phones the a55 and the
A35 they look a lot like Samsung's
flagship Galaxy s24 series but with some
Corners cut to get them down to a price
that's nearly half but then what things
did Samsung cut back on how much better
are these from the previous year's
Galaxy a series phones and how do these
phones compete with some other phones in
this price segment in terms of features
and cameras let's go one by one first
things first it's easily the most
premium looking phone in this price
segment you get glass back very similar
camera Islands metallic frame and a
redesigned speaker Grill and you know
there also a design upgrade from last
year's Galaxy a series phones see last
year the a34 had a plastic B with a
plastic frame and the a54 had a plastic
frame too but with a glass bag and now
both the A35 and a55 have glass bags and
the a55 has a metal frame with a brush
Metal finish it feels good and it's got
that premium touch that you just won't
find in other phones in this price
segment now the other big upgrade is
that both these devices are protect
using Gorilla Glass victus Plus on both
the back and the front in fact it's the
same protection that we saw last two
last year with the Galaxy s22 Flagship
series and yes both the phones are rated
for IP67 water and dust resistance as
well I mean to say the least I think
these phones are really
durable now look obviously flagships
like the Galaxy s24 series they have
Gorilla Glass Armor they have ip68 water
indust resistance but then they're also
twice as expensive at half the price the
a55 or the A35 I think I'm pretty good
with gorilla glass victus plus and IP67
rating but there's one key design change
the Key island so the volume and the
power button are now placed on a
slightly elevated metallic Edge and
Samsung calls it the Key island it
doesn't feel too different in terms of
usability but I just think it's a design
accent for a series specifically now let
me touch upon the colors so I've got ice
blue here for the Galaxy a55 and I think
it looks absolutely stunning uh it's got
this subtle muted blue to it but there's
also a navy color in the a55 and both
these colors are available for the A35
as well however the A35 additionally
comes in a lilac color which I've got
here and two more things both the phones
have a hybrid SIM tray so you can run
two SIM cards or one sim card and expand
storage by up to 1,000 gigs and both of
them also have studo speakers with
support for Dolby Atmos so they sound
pretty good but now let's talk about the
displays and look Samsung displays have
always been one of the best and even in
this segment both of them are 6.6 in
Super AMOLED displays with adaptive 120
HZ refresh rate and 1,000 nits of
brightness so pretty much the same as
last year except the Galaxy a54 was 6.4
in and this here is 6.6 in now but that
aside these are definitely one of the
best displays in this price segment I
mean whether it's watching movies or
YouTube videos they just look so good
the a55 is also certified for HDR
playback on Netflix Outdoors despite
being thousand nits their Vision booster
algo just ensures that you get Supreme
visibility even in bright sunlight
however I think there are two areas that
Samsung can improve first is just make
them ltpo displays I think that can
hugely save battery and second cut down
on those bezels I mean they are clearly
big now the next thing a lot of you
would be interested in is the camera
performance and look there are pros and
cons to it let me explain so going by
the specs both phones have the same 50
map ois primary camera and 5 megap macro
camera but we have an 8 megap Ultra wide
on the A35 and a 12 megap Ultra wide on
the a55 both phones have a couple of
features like short suggestion that
guides you to move your camera to create
a better frame or even things like autof
framing during video that automatically
zooms and Frames your video and you know
autof framing can be very helpful
especially when you're taking videos of
you know a group of people but you know
what let's look at the camera samples so
let me first show you some regular shots
that I took with the a55 primary camera
and in broad daylight the pictures look
quite nice right I mean even when it got
a bit cloudy I think it captured the
greens quite well not too much
sharpening and the textures are also
decently captured it maintains an even
tone good balance between shadows and
highlights during nighttime too pictures
came out very well of course ambient
light around helps to make those
pictures look better but even then for
nighttime these seem good lights aren't
leaking or getting Overexposed which is
also good to see I also tried the
portrait mode and I felt this could have
been better especially the focus falloff
initially the default blur strength was
set to very high so the blur fell too
abrupt but once I fixed the blur
strength to low the portrait pictures
turned out to be slightly better now one
thing that both the a55 and the A35 have
is a special night portrait mode and by
the way this was in very low light
conditions and for that I think it did a
pretty good job however the a55 it does
have an AI ISP which is what makes night
portraits look even better than A35 also
the selfie cameras on both the phones
are a little different so the a55 has a
32 megap selfie cam whereas the A35 it
has a 13 megap selfie camera first here
are the Selfies taken on the a55 in
portrait mode and I think they're really
nice good skin tone nice face detection
and even around the hair if you see it's
quite accurate also please feel free to
download all these photo samples from
the link below to evaluate the quality
for yourself and here your selfies taken
using the Galaxy A35 and I think even
A35 captured selfies really well the
details the textures and even in low
light
it's really not bad at all and let's
also take a look at a video that I shot
using the front-facing camera of the a55
so guys I'm shooting this using the
front-facing camera of the Galaxy a55
and unlike most other smartphones in
this price segment this one does have a
4K uh front-facing uh video capability
most other manufacturers they actually
just give you 1080p so I think this is
absolutely great and I'm not using any
external microphone it's shot straight
into this camera and this is how it
sounds like also so here's a 4K video
sample shot using the a55 and you know
the footage is incredibly stable as well
and colors look nice and natural but in
low light while the footage remains to
be stable it does seem like there's a
bit of you know Focus hunting or
breathing around the light so just
something to keep in mind since we are
talking about photos and videos let's
also take a look at a couple of editing
tricks that these phones have let's say
a picture looks dull to you you could
just remaster it by tapping a button and
it will give your picture a slight lift
there's an image Clipper that Clips out
subjects in your pictures which you can
then save as stickers or just drag and
drop them into notes email or a
conversation there's also object eraser
in case you want to remove something
from your image and it works quite well
again small small software based tricks
that can really elevate your photo
editing experience and that's where both
these phones really shine and outperform
other phones in this price segment it's
their software first of all they both
ship with Android 14 and they come with
the same software as in the s24 series
to one UI 6.1 so you get a lot of the
new features that came with one UI 6.1
like you know effects on the lock screen
wallpaper widgets on the lock screen you
get more battery protection options you
can set custom alarm backgrounds and a
lot more but that's not what makes the
aies special it's got features that you
just won't find in any other smartphone
in this price segment first Samsung
guarantees four generations of os
upgrades and 5 years of security updates
no phone no smartphone company offers
that in this price segment second both
these phone come with Samsung wallet and
additionally the Galaxy a55 you can just
tap and make payments with this you can
also add your debit or credit cards you
can connect UPI accounts and securely
import and keep your government IDs from
digilocker third there's quick share
with which you can freely and quickly
move files between Android smartphones
and Windows laptops like if I want to
send a 1GB file I could do that within
few seconds also if you want to send
something very sensitive you could do so
by turning on private share the person
you send it to can't share it ahead or
even take screenshots and you can even
even set a timer while sending so that
file will automatically expire in that
duration and they also have secure
folder and maintenance mode in fact if
you want to know more about secure
folder I've done like a full video on
that I'll leave a card here so watch
that after this video but you know
what's interesting to see is how all of
these security features are actually
working on these phones it's actually
all because of nox Vault that offers
Peak levels of protection from software
and Hardware attacks in fact I'll leave
a link below in the description if you
want to know more about that but
I can say with 100% confidence that
these are one of the most secured
smartphones in this price segment now
look compared to a flagship you don't
get Galaxy AI features you don't get
generative wallpapers no Samsung deck no
wireless charging I mean things that
will generally cost more those are the
things that you'll have to compromise on
but then that's why you get these at a
much lower price lastly let's talk about
performance so both these phones are
running exus chips the 1380 on the A35
and the 148 on the a55 with 8 gigs of
RAM as the base variant and this time by
the way the galaxy a55 is the first a
series phones to come with 12 gigs of
RAM now here's the reality these exus
chips do not outperform chips that are
sold on other phones in this price
segment but exus phones in general I
think have come a long way like you know
the exus 1480 it offers improved
performance over its predecessor it
handles daily tasks multitasking
switching between apps without any
issues like I played Asphalt 9 and it
ran absolutely smoothly and despite
longer gaming sessions it didn't really
seem to heat up even if you're a casual
content creator you'll be able to edit
4K videos on the phone and Export it
sure it might take a bit more time but
it'll surely be able to do that without
any issues but having said all of that I
wouldn't recommend these phones if
you're a performance or a gaming
Enthusiast these phones are more about
everyday conveniences you know user
Centric features and it's packaged to
deliver more per user rather than be
single ly focused on just performance
also both of these phones have 5,000 m
battery and they will easily easily last
you more than just one day on a single
charge sadly it still supports 25 W
charging only Samsung come on we would
love to see slightly faster charging on
these phones now now guys alongside the
a55 the A35 Samsung has also launched
its latest fitness band the Galaxy Fit 3
which I've been wearing in this entire
video it's for about 5,000 rupes now
it's not exactly a smartwatch but it
does quite a bit of what a smartwatch
does see you get all your notifications
and you can read them it monitors your
heart rate blood oxygen stress and sleep
it can track your steps and exercises
you can't type to reply back to the
notifications but there are quick
replies that you can select from if you
wish to respond to incoming messages and
for its price I think it's got a
fantastic premium feel it's a really
good looking 1.57 in amulet display and
it's really lightweight and I I think
right now there's like a 500 rupes
discount on the Galaxy Fit 3 so you
should be able to get it for about
$44.99 if you buy it right now and since
I'm already talking of prices the Galaxy
a55 it starts at $399.99 and the Galaxy
A35 will start at 279.99 after Bank
discounts overall I believe the a55 and
the A35 offer the most complete package
as a phone look other phones in this
price segment they're either trying to
be to camera Centric or very gaming
Centric or very design Centric these I
think are trying to balance all of those
points in a singular phone just the
right mix of Premium design that meets
durability camera that meets Ai and
editing features unparalleled software
experience with promise of up to four
generations of os upgrades I think they
pack quite a bit but if Samsung really
cuts down onto the bezels on these
phones um brings in Faster charging and
puts in more power into those exus chips
these would easily be the most
unbeatable phones in this price segment
anyway that's it guys about the Galaxy
a55 the A35 the fit 3 but if you guys
still have any questions doubts concerns
please put them in the comment section
and I'll definitely help you guys out if
you did enjoy watching the video make
