Outlines
π§ The Sound Mind and Fearlessness
The speaker begins by discussing the concept of operating with a 'sound mind' and how it relates to fear. They reference a person who does not acknowledge God, leading to a depraved mind that does not seek truth and instead engages in wickedness. The speaker then transitions to the main topic: having a sound mind. They read 2 Timothy 1:7, explaining that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and discipline, which some translations interpret as a 'sound mind.' The Greek word 'simus' is highlighted as key, meaning using a sound mind with moderation and self-control. The speaker emphasizes that a sound mind involves thinking things through with discipline and self-control, contrasting this with fear, which is not a rational conclusion when thinking clearly.
π Society's Depravity and the Sound Mind
Continuing the discussion, the speaker explores the attributes of a depraved mind, contrasting it with a sound mind. They reference Romans 1:28, detailing a list of negative traits associated with a depraved mind, such as being haters of God, insolent, arrogant, and disobedient. The speaker then connects societal issues with a depraved mindset, using examples like untrustworthy behavior in politics and the normalization of pedophilia. They emphasize the importance of acknowledging God to avoid a depraved mind and discuss the role of the church and government in this context. The speaker also highlights the importance of a sound mind in discerning truth, using the example of the Bereans in Acts 17 who compared teachings to scripture.
π« The World's Misinterpretations
The speaker addresses the world's current messages on sex and gender, challenging the idea that gender is flexible and can be changed or multiple. They argue that the Bible does not support gender confusion and that the concept of gender dysphoria is a modern invention. The speaker emphasizes the importance of using a sound mind to compare what is heard with what the scriptures say. They also discuss the topic of homosexuality, using biblical references to argue that it is unnatural and against God's design. The speaker encourages listeners to use their sound minds to discern truth from societal influences.
π Homosexuality and the Biblical Perspective
The speaker delves deeper into the topic of homosexuality, acknowledging the struggle and legitimacy of same-sex attraction while firmly grounding the discussion in biblical teachings. They reference Genesis 1:27-28 and 1 Corinthians 7 to argue that the natural order, as created by God, is for a man and a woman to be together, not for same-sex relationships. The speaker emphasizes that the Bible does not condone homosexuality, describing it as a degrading passion and unnatural act. They also discuss the consequences of such actions, as mentioned in Romans 1:26-27, and the importance of renewing the mind to align with God's will.
π The Complexity of Natural Law
The speaker further explores the concept of natural law, explaining that the natural function of a man and a woman is to reproduce, and that same-sex relationships go against this natural order. They discuss the idea that the parts of a man and a woman are designed to come together for reproduction, and that this cannot happen in same-sex relationships. The speaker emphasizes the importance of not justifying wrong actions based on desires, and the need to deal with wrong desires rather than manipulating God's word to make them seem acceptable.
π Jesus and the Call to Truth
The speaker discusses how Jesus and the apostles pointed out sin, contrasting their approach with that of judgmental Christians. They reference several biblical passages, including John 8:1-11, Matthew 18:5-6, Matthew 6:24, and Matthew 18:15, to illustrate Jesus' teachings on forgiveness, the consequences of sin, and the importance of addressing sin in love. The speaker emphasizes that Jesus cared about the consequences of sin on individuals' lives and wanted them to experience joy and peace through obedience to God.
ποΈ The Misuse of Words in Society
The speaker addresses the misuse and manipulation of words in society, particularly in the context of politics and religion. They discuss the difference between a democracy and a republic, clarifying that the United States is a republic. The speaker also challenges the label of 'Christian nationalist', explaining that the founding fathers did not intend for the church to govern the country but rather for the government to be founded on God's principles. They further discuss the concept of colonialism, arguing that the historical context of conquest and control does not equate to the actions of the early settlers in America.
π³ The Roots of Freedom and Faith
The speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding the historical context and motivations behind the founding of the United States. They argue that the settlers left Europe to escape religious persecution and sought a place where they could freely seek God and practice their faith without government interference. The speaker refutes the idea of Christian nationalism, stating that the goal was not to impose a state religion but to have a government that recognized the principles of God.
π Using the Sound Mind in Prayer and Worship
The speaker concludes by encouraging the congregation to use their sound minds to discern truth and to base their lives on the teachings of the Bible, not on societal manipulation. They invite altar ministers to come forward to pray for those in need, emphasizing the importance of prayer and the support of the community. Transcripts
if you're operating in love power and a
sound mind you will not have
fear why is that why is it if I'm
operating in a sound mind I won't have
fear the lack of acknowledging God leads
to a depraved mind said a person with a
depraved mind does not acknowledge God
therefore does not search the scriptures
for truth therefore does what is wicked
and
evil all right y'all ready to get in the
word today all right today we're talking
about having a sound mind what does it
mean to have a sound mind I'm going to
read a scripture that is most familiar
in being associated with the statement
having a sound mind 2 Timothy
1:7 For God has not given us a Spirit of
timidity or fear but of power love and
discipline now stay with me for you who
have uh uh versions that say sound mind
instead of discipline I'm going to
explain that but here's something I want
you to notice when we restate what's
actually being said here God gave you a
spirit of power God gave you a spirit of
love God gave you a spirit of discipline
or sound mind now why does some
translations use the word discipline
instead of sound mind or use sound mind
instead of discipline here's why the
Greek word that's actually used there is
simus
simus that word means the definition of
that word simus is using a sound mind
moderation and self-control using a
sound mind moderation in other words
using self-control and moderation to
think things through the discipline to
stop and think the discipline to use
self-control and moderation when
thinking things through so having a
sound mind is the discipline to use
moderation in self-control in your
thought process that's going to make
more sense later I promise you but in
this verse you need to understand
there's a compare and contrast going on
he's actually saying he didn't give you
this he gave you this he's comparing the
two he's contrasting timidity which if
you go back to that Greek word and this
is why most of you have a translation
that say fear the word actually means
fearfulness he didn't give you a spirit
of Fe fearfulness he didn't give you a
spirit of fear or timidity but he gave
you love power and a sound mind in other
words if you're operating in love power
and a sound mind you will not have
fear why is that why is that if I'm
operating in a sound mind I won't have
fear because fear is not a rational
conclusion when you think things through
you don't ever think things through and
stop and say what we should do is be
afraid you don't get to that point when
we're faced with fear we know that's not
coming from God God did not give us a
spirit of fear so this can't be of God
we must use a sound mind to think
through what's trying to bring fear so
we can overcome whatever it is you with
me so today we're going to investigate
how to have a sound mind how do you
operate in a sound mind and to do that
I'm going to start with a compare and
contrast I'm going to start with the
operate the opposite what a sound mind
is
not is not this is what a sound mind is
not Romans 1:28
haters of God insolent arrogant boastful
adventurers of evil disobedient to
Parents Without understanding
untrustworthy unloving it's a long list
in it unmerciful and although they know
the ordinance of God and that those who
practice such things are worthy of
death they not only do the same but also
give hearty approval to those who
practice them now that was a mouthful of
scripture and a long list but I think
it's pretty clear that a
depraved mind is not a sound
mind we what we have attributes when it
comes to a depraved mind is that it
leads you a depraved mind lead you to do
things that are not proper and then it
gives this long list of here are the
things that are not
proper so do we live in a Society in a
culture that has a depraved
mind thank you here are a few examples
of what a depraved mind led to one of
the things on the list
untrustworthy how can you be trustworthy
if you open your borders and give free
hotels and debt cards to people who
illegally come into your country but
those who legally are homeless and vets
you don't do anything for
untrustworthy wickedness can you say
minor attracted people sofen up
pedophilia and call it minor attra
Wicked greed have you ever looked at the
politicians income before they go into
office and after they come out oh my
gossip and slander later on we're going
to talk about what is Christian
nationalists haters of God don't want to
offend you we're going to talk about
this more than a minute but the majority
of the lgbtqa I A++ Community haters of
God don't like the fact that God does
not like what they're doing inventors of
evil man when I read inventors of evil
this was the first thought that came to
mind a drag queen hello a drag
queen how did these people get this
depraved mind do you know what tells you
right there in that scripture how to get
a depraved mind they did not see fit to
acknowledge God they did not see fit to
acknowledge God the lack of
acknowledging God leads to a depraved
mind so when we decide not to
acknowledge God in our school system not
to acknowledge God in our government not
to acknowledge God in our life it leads
us to a depraved
mind so now we know what a depraved mind
looks like like it's a very long list
and I'm not going to spend the day going
through each one of those but then if
that's a depraved mind what is a sound
mind look like how do we determine and
get a sound mind because I think that's
what we want let's look in Acts 17
10-2 the Brethren immediately sent Paul
and Silas Away by night to Berea and
when they arrived they went into the
synagogue of the Jews
now these were more nobl minded than
those in thessalonica for they received
the word with great eagerness examining
the scripture daily to see whether these
things these things were so therefore
many of them believed along with the
number of prominent Greek women and men
Noble minded here if you go look in the
definition Greek wise of what does it
mean to be Noble minded it means
comparative minded to be a comparative
minded individual it makes more sense
when you understand that because what
they did was they heard something and
then they compared that to the scripture
to see if these things that were said
were so are you with me they were
comparative minded you're telling me
this but what am I going to compare that
to to know if I'm getting the truth here
I'm going to compare that to the word of
God to see if what you're saying is true
they received it they compared it to the
scripture to determine its truth so stay
with me a noble-minded person a person
who Compares is the person who hears
something and searches the scripture of
God to see if it's
true I'm giving you time to write that
down listen they had the discipline they
had the sound mind to compare what they
were hearing to what God Said a person
with a depraved mind does not
acknowledge God therefore does not
search the scriptures for truth
therefore does what is wicked and
evil a person with a sound mind is one
who acknowledges God searches the
scripture therefore walks in
truth you got it fair enough all right
God bless you have a good
day let's get into this are you ready
because we're going to go into some
topics of
today and we're going to say if we were
to use a sound mind compare what we hear
to what the scriptures say where would
that sound mind lead us to as uh in in
um in comparison to where a depraved
mind would lead us to and I'm going to
start with and listen before I even get
into this I want to say hear me all the
way out hear me all the way out I'm not
mean I'm not judgmental I'm not critical
my topic today is what are we hearing
and how does it compare to scripture so
we're going to start by talking about
sex and
gender sex and gender the world is
telling us right now that gender is
flexible that you can change genders
they're even telling us you can have
multiple genders at the same time are
you have you heard that okay so do you
know that if you search gender in the
scripture you get zip zilch none not a
conversation on a person's gender
compared to what sex they are why
because if you look at any dictionary
written prior to 50 years ago or updated
prior to 50 years ago and you look up
the word gender this is the definition I
went and looked myself the definition of
gender is sex male or female that's the
definition of the word gender until we
started messing with the definition of
the word gender do you know that when
you look in the 66 books of the Bible
every single one of them gender
confusion issue is never mentioned there
wasn't a single person that said to God
I know you made me a man but I think I'm
a woman there wasn't a single person
that said I know in my soul that I
believe I'm a woman even though I was
born as a man it doesn't exist why
because gender dysphoria gender
confusion the ability to change your
gender the desire to be a different
gender than you were born with is an
issue of mental instability it's an
issue of the mind not of the body it's
an issue of the mind it's not truth
something is off to make you think you
are other than what you are A sound mind
can determine that the scripture says
there's no gender confusion in God's
word whatever he made you that's what
you are
however there
is there is an example in scripture of
someone who had multiple genders at the
same
time oh it got
quiet multiple genders I'm going to show
it to you because we call that person
the demoniac of the
gines who had a legion of spirits in
him and when I thought about that I
wondered I wonder what the demon IC of
gine used as his
pronouns did he use us and we and they
and them I don't know let's go take a
look it's in Mark chap 5 verse 9 and he
Jesus was asking him so we have that
established he's a hymn what is your
name not what is y'all's name what is
your name so Jesus is using him and your
pronouns and he that one person said to
him my name is Legion for we are many
and he began to implore him earnestly
not to send him out of the country now
there were a large herd of swine feeding
on the nearby Mountains and the demons
implored Jesus him saying send us into
the swine so that we may enter him do
you see this one man saying we are many
send us he's got a gender multiple
gender going on there so I guess this
man's pronouns were we and us but the
reason was clear and the answer was
Deliverance I'm just going to leave it
at
that but now we get harder we get
tougher we get into a more sensitive
subject and what we're doing today is
saying what are we hearing and what does
Scripture say we're going to take a look
at
homosexuality and this is what I want to
say if you're here
today this struggle is
legit it is real men Desiring men women
Desiring women that is a real legitimate
struggle what I want to do today is just
go back to the scripture and say okay
how do I deal with that what does the
scripture say what are we GNA do I'm
going to start with my one and only Old
Testament scripture that'll make sense
when I clarify that later Genesis 1:
27-28 God created man in his own image
in the image of God he created him male
and female he created them God blessed
them and said to them be fruitful and
multiply fill the Earth and subdue it so
from a very Baseline sound mind A sound
mind would say how can to men be
fruitful and multiply how can two women
be fruitful and multiply they can't but
do you know the scripture tells
us sorry I got to look around for just a
minute yep okay the scripture tells us
that we should be engaging in the act of
procreation I'm saying it that way
because of the age of some people in the
room
the act of procreation scripture says we
should be doing it okay 1 Corinthians 7
1 through 5 please watch the words that
are used and the definition now
concerning the things which you wrote it
is good for a man not to touch a woman
because of
immoralities it is good for a man not to
touch now I'm going to tell you in
advance and it's going to be explained
as we go that this is an unmarried man
touching an unmarried woman sexually I'm
going to give you proof of that verse
two because of immoralities each man say
man is to have his own wife a man is to
have a wife and each woman say woman is
to have her own husband let me show you
what we just defined we just Define that
a man has a woman Woman as a wife and
that a woman has a man as a
husband agreed verse three the husband
remember defined as a man that a woman
has you're a husband you are a man that
a woman has must fulfill his duty to his
wife what is a wife a woman that a man
has a man has a woman called a wife and
likewise also the wife a woman that has
a man as a husband to her husband who is
a man that has a woman so let me just
clarify what that verse just said in
verse three a man has a wife a woman has
a husband the husband is a man that a
woman has a wife is a woman that a man
has and a man fulfills his duty to a
wife and a woman fulfills her duty to a
husband that's what we just read
sound mind in the homosexual culture a
man has a husband and a woman has a wife
so this scripture is verifying that a
man has a woman as a wife and a woman
has a man as a husband let's keep
reading the wife does not have authority
over her own body but the husband does
and likewise also the husband does not
have authority over his own body but the
wife does now we're going to explain
what he means by that that stop
depriving one another stop depriving
what was the subject that we were
talking about when we started the
conversation men touching women men
touching women so he's talking about a
husband and a wife and says don't
deprive each other of the
touching children in the room that goes
on in a marriage except by agreement for
a time so that you May devote yourself
to prayer for most men that's about six
minutes sorry and come together again
don't miss this come together again come
together for what to touch come together
to touch again so that my favorite two
words in the Bible Satan will not tempt
you because of your lack of
self-control what's he saying Satan will
tempt you to touch a person that is not
your wife or your husband because you're
depriving each other so come together
again and touch again
on remember the topic unmarried men
touching women sexually and that
touching is called immoral here's the
proof look at verse 8 and N but I say to
the
unmarried and to widows what do
unmarried people and widows have in
common they don't have a spouse now
we're back talking to
singles unmarried and to the widows that
it is good for them if they remain even
as I Paul is saying just stay
single but if they don't have
self-control self-control to keep them
from touching people that they are not
married to then let them them marry why
because it's better to marry and to have
someone to touch than to burn with a
passion and not have anyone to
touch I don't know if you see that this
scripture defines who should be enjoying
the act of
procreation a man called a husband and a
woman called a wife no other options are
addressed in Touching because none other
exists so there's no need to clarify
but the scripture does when we go into
the Bible and this where I want you to
hang with me all I'm trying to do is
just compare what does the scripture say
on this topic the scripture does say
that men can wrongfully desire a man and
a woman can wrongfully desire a woman in
a passionate way let's read it Romans
1:26 and 27 this is hard and I'm just
telling you if you're struggling with
this today bear with me bear with
me for this reason verse 26 God gave
them over to a
degrading passion what is a degrading
passion we know what passion is the
conversation starts by saying they have
a degrading passion now and the word
degrading by definition in the Greek
actually means dishonor or
disgrace they have a passion that is
dishonorable or disgraceful what does
that mean for this reason
God gave them over to a degrading
passion he said that's what you want you
got it for their women exchanged the
natural
function what does that word mean
natural function those are key words
we're going to dig those up they
exchanged the natural function for that
which is unnatural that we still it's
not clear yet they did something where
they exchanged what the natural function
was for the unnatural 27 and in the same
way also men now he's going to clarify
abandon the natural function of the
woman and burned in their desire toward
one another men with men committing in
decent acts and receiving their o in
their own persons the penalty of their
error what's he saying it is natural for
a man to desire a woman it is unnatural
natural stay with me for a man to desire
a man and I have heard so many
conversations with people interpreting
scripture to say that God condones the
homosexual relationship but I don't
think you get much clearer than this and
I'm not bashing homosexuals I'm trying
to say where do I stand on this the only
way I can know is this is what I'm
hearing but I got to go back to God's
worth and find out what is truth so I'm
saying let's be honest in the
conversation about what does the
scripture say you don't have to agree
with the scripture I'm just asking what
does it say it says they have a
dishonorable and disgraceful passion God
says what they're doing is unnatural God
says men exchange the natural function
toward a Woman by having a burning
desire for other men God says that
because they are doing it they receive a
penalty and God says that what they are
doing is an
error so in this scripture it says that
what they're doing is unnatural the
Greek word for unnatural means against
nature what they're doing is against
nature what does against nature mean
when it comes to men being with men and
women being with women listen to me this
is going to be really
complicated but when a man uh the there
are parts of a man that are
designed to be with a woman and parts of
a woman that are designed for a man and
the natural function would bring those
things together to
reproduce that's what nature does it
reproduces after its
kind be fruitful and
multiply and when a man exchanges the
natural function of being with a woman
to to be with a man it's a dishonoring
disgraceful passion that cannot
naturally reproduce and the scripture
says the same for women with women now
this is why I said hang on with me I'm
not a jerk I'm not a judgmental
self-righteous Christian Pastor jerk
that's not what I'm doing at all I
realize that there are legitimacy to
struggling with same-sex attraction it's
real for some people it's not doubtful
in my mind I don't think they're making
it up I don't think it's pretend I think
they truly struggle with it and it's not
an easy thing to deal with when I read
the scripture and he says this is not a
rightful thing to do it is a depraved
thing to do but listen to me many people
in this
room have desires that are contrary to
Nature and contrary to God's word
it is another thing that we have to look
at and say what's wrong to make me think
this is okay when it's not truth we have
to deal with the wrong desires not
justify wrong actions because we have
wrong desires not manipulate God's word
to make it look like it's okay to
operate in wrong desires not just
justify hear me close not justify that I
was born this way so it must be from
God let me tell you why a sound mind
cannot accept that line of logic if that
were true that that desire was put in
you from God then according to God's
word everything that is sinful could
have been a desire that God put in you
and there's nothing for you to overcome
you just need to roll with whatever
sinful desire he gave you that doesn't
make sense with the scripture it's
contrary to the word of God God doeses
not make us sinful we choose sin often
times based on desires that are
degrading
passions and when I examine the
scriptures I read things like Romans
12:2 don't be conformed to this world
don't be conformed to this world but be
transformed by the renewing I'll explain
that in a minute renewing of your mind
this is where the battle is it's in the
mind so that you may prove what the will
of God is that which is good and
acceptable and perfect not that which is
depraved the will of God is Not depraved
our minds need to be renewed I taught on
this once before actually years ago I
think what this scripture is referring
to when it says our mind has to be
renewed look at the word re again going
back to something previous and new what
was it like when it was new that's not
my child mind it is the mind of man in
the garden where my not mind would be
rebr to the new place of the mindset
that Adam and Eve had before the fall
where I was in love with God I was
obedient to God and God was blessed in
me and I was walking in his ways and I
was not hiding are you with me I have to
have my mind renewed back to that status
between me and God that is pure and
wholesome and holy but a having a sound
mind and comparing what you hear to the
scripture goes beyond sexual
issues now we've covered a couple sexual
issues but I want to go beyond that and
things that the world is telling us the
world is telling Believers right now
that God is love and Jesus commanded us
to love one another and listen to me
Love Is Love Therefore you cannot call
out sin in others you can't because
that's self-righteousness judgmental a
told you don't be judged or you will be
judged Jesus is so loving that he never
called out anybody for being
sinful unless he did
let's go look I'm going to look at John
81-1 you know this story it's the woman
caught in
adultery straightening up Jesus said to
Heroman where are they where are the
Pharisees who were condemning you did no
one condemn you she said no Lord and he
said I don't condemn you either go most
of them stop right there go okay you're
not condemned nobody has the right to
judge you go Jesus said said go from now
on sin no more he called it out he said
you are in a sinful place now that
you've received Mercy go and sin no
more Matthew 18
5-6 and whoever receives one child in my
name receives me Jesus talking but
whoever causes one of these little ones
to
stumble of these little ones who believe
in me to stumble it would be better for
him to have a heavy Millstone hung
around his neck and to be drowned in the
depth of the sea this is Jesus Jesus
saying you want to mess with the
children it'd be better if we put a big
rock around your neck and threw you into
the sea that's
Jesus that's Jesus's words
and and I want you to wonder can we say
that to a minor attracted person or a
drag queen it'd be better Jesus said
uh Matthew
6:24 Jesus says no one can serve two
masters for either they'll hate the one
and they'll love the other or they'll be
devoted to one and they'll despise the
other watch this next statement you
cannot serve God and wealth you cannot
serve God I don't know about you but it
sounds like Jesus is saying you can make
a wrong decision everything is not
subjectively right there are wrong
decisions you want to follow this world
go follow this world you want to follow
God follow God but you can't do
both Matthew 6:14-15
for if you forgive others for their
transgressions Jesus speaking your
heavenly father will also forgive you
but if you do not forgive others then
your father will not forgive you
your transg
ow ow because it sounds like what he's
saying is there's actually a problem if
you don't forgive
people and by the way did he not just
say you won't be forgiven your
transgressions he just said you're
sinning too and you won't be forgiven
yours if you won't forgive others
consequences will remain in place
Matthew 18:15 last one
if your brother sins Jesus talking Go
and show him his fault in private if he
listens to you you have won a brother I
just want you to repeat this Go and show
him his
fault Jesus is saying point out the
fault point out the sin go talk to your
brother about it and if he listens to
you then then you've won him
over now let me tell you the
difference in Jesus pointing out
sin and judgmental self-righteous
Christians pointing out
sin here's the difference the judgmental
self-righteous Christian says I know
it's wrong you're doing it and I need
you to stop it because it's wrong I
don't do those kind of things you do
them and you need to stop them because
my God is unhappy with you and we've got
a problem with you and you are a sinful
person Jesus
says do you know how much this is going
to mess up your life if you keep doing
this do you know the consequences that
are coming I don't want those for you I
want you to have Joy I want you to have
peace I want you to rejoice and you
can't do that if you're going to
continue to act in a way against God
who's trying to bless you you are
missing out on the blessings of God
because you're stepping over into the
kingdom of darkness and not able to
receive what he has for you because
you're not forgiving other people but if
you forgive them it would open the
blessing for you you see one of them is
saying I care about what happens to you
because of your actions
this one over here is saying I care
because you're doing wrong and I want to
point it out because I don't do
wrong when we learn to tell the truth in
love our brothers and our sisters and
even the unbelievers will
say man he really seemed to care about
me when he told me
that he really seemed to understand that
if I continue to look at porn it's going
to wreck my marriage
so some people would say yeah but when
you read those scriptures Todd aren't
all of those people talking about
Christians pointing out the sins of
other Christians quite honestly no go
back and study them for yourself they
were not Christian onch Christian
conversations in every case that Jesus
was talking about but I want you to
consider this what was the message
message of John the Baptist Jesus Christ
and the apostles what was the message we
call it the gospel correct and what is
the gospel you are following Satan you
are not acknowledging God you are lost
in your sin but Jesus has provided a way
for you to return to the father help me
out how do we share the gospel without
pointing out
sin how do we say you're living
righteous and in the truth and you need
to
repent yeah see the issue is not
pointing out sin the issue is the way we
point out
sin next I'm going to shift gears I'm
going to shift gears and I'm going to
talk just for a little bit about using
your sound mind in the secular World
using your sound mind in the secular
situation let understand what I mean in
just a minute I I believe that our
society especially in our country we as
Believers must
recognize that there are people in our
country trying to twist definitions
twist words and twist Concepts and we
have to be solid on what they're
actually saying and doing I'm going to
call it
manipulation okay but here's some
examples
what's going on in our nation with the
word
democracy I got news for you you need to
write this down this is special
information that is going to be very
very valuable to you the United States
is not a
democracy never was the United States is
a republic and you need to know the
difference between what is uh democracy
and what is a republic and if you're in
a kingdom group you get to deal with
that this week here's another word that
I'm hearing coming out those Christian
nationalists what is a Christian
nationalist I'll Tell You by definition
here's what a Christian nationalist is
it is when you want your country
governed by a religion that's what a
Christian nationalist I want my country
country governed by religion by the
church and I want you to know that
Washington Jefferson and Franklin were
not Christian nationalist they were
Believers that wanted a government
founded on the principles of God they
did not want a government that's run by
the church like they had in
England let me give you some sound mind
backup to that I went to the library of
Congress I began reading in the Library
of Congress about the founding of our
nation this is in our documents our
country's documents our explanation of
why people came to the US the religious
persecution that drove settlers from
Europe to the British North American
colonies sprang from the conviction held
by the Protestants and Catholics alike
in Europe that un formity of religion
must exist in any given Society this
conviction rested on the belief that
there was One True Religion and that it
was the duty of the Civil Authorities
the government to impose forcibly if
necessary in the interest of saving the
souls of all of its
citizens here's what I'm
saying we left your Europe and came to
the us because we did not want the
church running the country we did not
want a forced religion are you with me
so we're here because we want you to
have the freedom to seek God here
because we want you the freedom to do
your understanding of scripture instead
of the government's imposed
understanding of the scripture so why
would a people who left to come here
come here and then say we want the same
thing we had back back there we are not
Christian nationalist what we want is
God back in the principles of our
government we don't want the church
running the
government we want the government to
recognize don't kill
children no one is saying that the
United States should have a forced
religion this is political rhetoric to
get Christian in influence to back off
out of our government it's an
intimidation factor it's a manipulation
to call you a Christian
nationalist last one another
word
colonialism colonialism if you've gotten
very far into it you begin to hear this
word a lot here's what colonialism means
controlling and exploiting of people by
a foreign
group I'm going read that again
controlling and exploiting of people by
a foreign group I want you to hear me
out that does not make our Colony system
when we came to the US
colonialism there's a difference between
having a colony and colonialism but on
this subject of stepping in and taking
over and controlling and exploiting
people by a foreign group every
everybody say every
every every country in history has been
conquered by someone else the United
States is not exclusive in that when
they came to the US not exclusive in
conquering a land or a territory why
because that is a constant in our
history as long as we have been on this
planet and listen to me even in the
Bible the people of God conquered people
and took their land
is there righteous and unrighteousness
in that yes but we're getting into
absolutely ridiculous conversations like
there should be restitution there should
be restitution to the Native Americans
because we came in and took their land
but listen to me if you're a Native
American who are we giving restitution
to because the commanches took over the
Apaches territory and ran them out so is
it the commanches or is it the Apaches
and the here's what I'm saying this
makes no sense this has been common
history that the Strong Survive they
conquer they move in uh and they do what
they do okay but to go back then and say
now we've got to go all the way back
through history and everybody who ever
conquered somebody we've got to find a
way to give them restitution because it
wasn't fair they got conquered it
doesn't make sense how do I wrap this up
let me find a way to wrap this up so we
realize that God has given us a sound
mind and this is all I'm saying today we
got to start using the sound mind that
God gave
us Matthew 23:37 for God for he said to
him you shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart with all your soul
and with all your mind Romans 8:
5-6 for those who are according to flesh
they do not acknowledge God that's what
we're talking about here the unbeliever
the one who doesn't acknowledge God set
their minds on things of the
flesh but those who are according to the
spirit have the Holy Spirit in them they
set their minds on the things of the
spirit for the mind that is set on flesh
is death if we continue with the
depraved mind we continue with the
things it leads to and it leads to death
the minds set on the spirit is life and
peace because the mindset on the flesh
is hostile toward God it does not
acknowledge God for it does not subject
itself to the law of God for it is not
even able to do so and those who are in
the flesh cannot please God as
Believers we have been given a sound
mind by God as Believers we cannot be
intimidated to use our sound mind as
Believers we can speak from a sound
sound mind as Believers we do not
confuse fake loving tolerance and sinful
acts as Believers we do not accept the
world's view of Christianity we get our
directions from the Holy Spirit and the
word of
God said it before and I'll continue to
say it the church must stop letting the
world tell us what we believe
now I'm going to make this final note
because I mentioned it earlier in this
entire message talking about gender
talking about homosexuality talking
about sexual issues I did not use a
single scripture except for the first
one out of the
law although God is the same yesterday
and forever I don't want the petty
argument that we don't live under the
Old Testament overal we don't live under
the old Covenant so all of those things
were old Covenant issues they are not
not they are New Testament New Covenant
issues and I don't want to Cloud this
what the scriptures say everything I
discussed was taken from a New Covenant
perspective that we live
under but to
close I do want to give you some wisdom
from the Old
Testament because see there was a man in
the Old Testament who was known as the
wisest man that ever lived and I listen
to him because he's the wisest man that
ever lived and he wrote this in Proverbs
15
14 the mind of the intelligent seeks
knowledge but the mouth of fools feeds
on
Folly the fools and their Folly are
running rampant in our society in our
country
today Christians we are not fools we
have sound Minds given to us by God we
are to use the disciplined sound mind to
compare what the world says to the truth
of the word of God are you with me all
right then stand your
feet I'm going to ask my altar ministers
to come
forward what I want you to hear today is
I had no desire in my message to condemn
I had no desire in my message to bring
shame or guilt on anyone but with a
sound mind I wanted to evaluate the
scriptures and see what is true Tru so
that I can base my life on truth and not
the manipulation that's going on in our
society right now and every one of us is
given by God a mind to go beyond the
manipulation and get to the truth maybe
you're here this morning you've got a
physical ailment you've got a marriage
problem you've got a financial problem
you got something that's stressing you
out you got something going on at work
and maybe you just need somebody else to
pray for you maybe you just need hand it
over somebody because you prayed out I
done prayed all I know to pray I don't
know what to pray anymore and it ain't
changing what do I do get somebody else
to pray for you these people are
prepared all week to pray for you and
your needs whatever they are please
don't get to your car and think I should
have had them pray for that I should
have had them prayed for my marriage I
should have had them prayed for that
pain I've got I should have had him pray
over that diagnosis I should had him
pray over my bank account whatever it is
take advantage of people who want to
pray for you and
believer recognize that God gave you a
sound mind you don't have to be
manipulated by Society father God in
jesus' name we just stand before you
saying you gave us a sound mind you gave
us scriptures you gave us the Holy
Spirit our job is to take what we're
hearing and compare it to your word we
want to be noble-minded people not
depraved in mind not refusing to
acknowledge you but acknowledging you in
all of your ways so you can set our path
straight we love you father bless us
with a sound mind in Jesus name amen
