habits I think that that's probably been
one of the biggest realizations in my
life where it's not something that you
do once or it's not something that you
do even for a week or a month but
something that you can put forth for
yourself to do on a daily basis over the
long term that's how you have success
and ultimately those are what people
call as habits so in this video I'm
going to be sharing with you guys five
habits that only take up 5 minutes for
each of them and although themselves
might not seem so profound might not
seem like something that's significant
because you're only doing that for 5
minutes I promise you if you do them
collectively especially over the long
term you're going to see a lot of the
positive benefits from it and I
attribute a lot of My Success that I've
had up to this point in my life to these
good habits so I'm excited for you guys

age in today's digital age we're
constantly bombarded by the thoughts the
opinions the emotions the judgments the
expectations of other people usually
through our phones and on social media
I've said this many times before I think
social media has its place it can be a
powerful instrumental educational tool
if used intentionally right but what's
usually the case and I'm guilty of this
as well it's not intentionally but it's
mindlessly and we know that the
algorithms are going to capitalize on
that so if the first thing that you're
doing when you wake up is reaching for
your phone and scrolling through Tik Tok
Instagram or YouTube whatever it is that
is um of enjoyment to you the algorithm
is going to keep you there for a little
bit and you might think that the 5
minutes the 10 minutes the 15 minutes
that you're spending on it might not be
significant because you're going to have
that time later on in the day back
there's actually a more serious more
dangerous problem that's Brewing
underneath that might not seem obvious
to you but it will showcase itself in
the progression of your day and frankly
the progression of your life I'm going
to speak about about that right now you
see I I think about my mind and I think
about minds in general as a sponge it
will soak up the information that you
give to it and your mind sometimes is a
problem in terms of identifying what is
of importance and what's not of
importance if you haven't set your
intentions right if you haven't actually
aligned what it is that is of value to
you all this information that comes up
to you is just absorbed and that becomes
a foundation it sets the tone for the
remainder of the day and you can imagine
how problematic that really is right so
if you're consuming meaningless content
the first thing in the morning things
that are going to be prevalent on social
media a lot of times also is negative
right because positive news doesn't
necessarily sell as well it doesn't do
as well in terms of Engagement so a lot
of what you see is going to be negative
in some form or another or perhaps it's
just for entertainment but again that
entertainment can you ask yourself how
meaningful is that to you when when
you're waking up right and that's the
first thing that you're absorbing it's
still not a good thing for you to do
what happens a lot is after you finish
watching whatever content you feel
lethargic and it's hard for you to get
your day going what I encourage you to
do is not have your phone nearby you
when you wake up I have in seen any good
excuse for somebody to convince me that
having a phone near by you when you
sleep is a good idea uh maybe if you're
doctor being paged that's okay but
usually I would recommend just getting a
analog alarm clock having that wake you
up having your phone not in your
vicinity because the Temptation is too
great and the consequences are too great
to even play around with and so you go
through your morning routine but a part
of that morning routine should be these
Reflections this is an opportunity for
you to block out the noise right without
the noise of podcast on in the
background or music on in the background
or social media on the background
without the screens up without any of
this stuff up it's your time your
opportunity to actually listen to your
own voice and say okay what are the
things that I did yesterday that I did
really well with right that I could
continue to improve upon or build upon
what are some areas that I was weak at
yesterday that I can do better at today
so it's your time for honest
accountability that looks in the form of
these Reflections it can be a really
powerful way for you to set the tone in
a positive manner and it doesn't have to
be this profound thing right so five
minutes especially if you've never done
this before five minutes will make the
world's difference right and trying to
understand okay this time is important
for me to align myself so that I can
make the most out of today and if you do
that on a repeated basis you'll start to
recognize its power and so I completely
urge you to do it yourself habit number
two daily goal setting now that we spoke
about reflecting on what you did
yesterday now let's speak on what we're
going to be doing today to make the most
out of it right and so you've understood
your weaknesses and your strength now
how is it that you're going to apply
yourself today so that you can make the
most out of it there's two issues that
people happen to do here one they won't
make goals for themselves at all they'll
think that oh I'll just figure it out
I'll just I'll just take the day as it
comes with me and I think that there's
some truth to that you want to be able
to not necessarily have a rigid schedule
you want to be able to take life as it
comes and be able to adapt to it and
then make the most out of all of your
situations but you should have a plan
setting forth for you as you're
approaching it right so the second issue
is you make too many goals for yourself
I think this is probably the common one
when someone starts to try and be
productive in their life they'll just
make this huge to-do list but that can
be really overwhelming especially if you
have developed the discipline up to that
point in time to be able to execute all
of them right so instead what you should
do is focus on a few wins right you're
going to make a list of to-dos if you
want to call them them or goals but then
prioritize them of importance right of
meaningfulness to you and then go ahead
and practice executing them so what
we're doing here is actually training
you to be decisive right is an ability
to not be 100% sure that this is exactly
what you're supposed to be doing but
anyways taking action and then learning
as you go right so what a lot of people
do is they'll fail to start something
because they've never trained themselves
to be able to prioritize and then
execute so it's that two-stage thing
that we're working on here and it only
takes 5 minutes so what you're going to
do is create a list of things that you
have to get done you're going to
prioritize them and you're going to
practice executing whichever ones that
you did prioritize whether it's three or
whether it's five of them and you're
going to practice making decision to
actually apply them in that day is it
going to be perfect are you going to
know exactly what you should be doing
every single day are you going to be
absolutely sure that those three to five
things are the most important no but
that's not the point here we're trying
to train you to be decisive and I
promise you this decisiveness is
actually going to pay off in the long
run when you are in that situation which
most people wouldn't take action you're
going to be the leader you're going to
be the type to take the steps or learn
along the way so what we're doing here
is setting your goals and practicing
executing them is a really good habit to
utilize habit number three continue a
positive habit from the day before this
is an odd one perhaps and I don't think
I've seen many people talk about this
but this is so important now we've
talked about the power of Reflections we
talked about the power of setting
priorities and then executing them and
practicing decisiveness but we have to
practice discipline or continuation of
our goals or the ability to actually
follow through with our goals whatever
you want to call that that's also a
skill right and what I see a lot of
times is people are really good at the
first few days of achieving their goals
of the first month or the first two
months when the emotions are high right
when they're inspired when they're
motivated but when that emotion dies
down can you stay committed to what you
said that you would do and so one of the
habits that you should get in the habit
of doing is prolonging one or continuing
one from the day before and it can be as
small as making your bed each morning
right so you can understand how that's
within the first five minutes but it's
teaching you discipline it's teaching
you how to set a goal and we've already
EX executed it one or a few times but
how to continue on with that and you'll
see that you'll get better with whatever
that goal was so maybe you're making
your bet a little bit faster that's
probably not the best example but let's
say that your goal was to create content
on a daily basis right and so we can
understand that creating content whether
it be a story post whether it be a tweet
or whether it be anything of a short
video it can it can be a very short
amount of time that you're spending
making that video even around 5 minutes
right but you'll start to recognize if
you do that over and over and that
you'll get better at it you'll become
more efficient at it you'll learn how to
systemize it you'll learn how to make
that process into something that's more
streamlined right but you would have
never known how to do that if you
weren't able to continue doing it on a
daily basis if you weren't consistent
with it so that's a positive habit take
something that you want to continue and
a part of your daily routine is to
prolong something from the day before
and this again is teaching that level of
consistency which I think people tend to
overlook they think either consistency
something that they have that's gifted
to them or they just don't have it but
in reality it's really a skill that you
should practice and a habit is a great
way of doing that habit number four
gratitude journaling I think that this
is extremely extremely powerful right
when I think about gratitude I think
about its ability to create this layer
of protection on your mind so that
negativity can't infiltrate it and and I
get this common all the time and I think
it's one of the best compliments that I
get whether it's in the workplace after
I completed my internships or whether it
was with my friend friends or whether
it's with my own company and the people
that are employed underneath me all of
them I think the one thing that they can
always say to me that means a lot is hey
you have such a great energy about you
you have such great positivity I love
your perspective I love the way that you
light up a room and I think that's so
powerful cuz that's the one thing you
can control I can't control sometimes of
how much money I came from I can't
control the type of environment that I
grew up in I can't control a lot of
these things that people think are
important but but I can control my own
energy I can control my own effort I can
control what I bring to the table on a
daily basis in terms of the emotional
aspect of it and it goes a long way
right like when you are a positive
person you uplift the entire environment
of whatever place that you're in and so
I think that that means a lot to me but
how do I do that it's a lot of times due
to my gratitude journaling right or it's
an ability to be grateful for the things
even if it's not physically writing them
out it's me being aware of it cognizant
of it look I came from a background in
which there was a lot of not so pretty
things right I grew up in a very poor
immigrant Family household there was a
lot of relationship issues there's a lot
of financial issues uh my parents got
divorced there was a lot of depression
in our family there's a lot of things
that were holding me back when I was
younger when someone would tell me hey
you can't allow that type of negativity
to continue dictating your life I would
kind of be offended by that like I would
be like you have no idea what you're
talking about like you have no idea what
I went through right and I would get
very offensive I would be very defensive
about the whole situation but in reality
they were right that was the type of
Awakening that I needed and there I got
to understand that that there were
things that I could be grateful for in
the midst of my struggle that there were
things that I was taken for granted on a
daily basis the fact that I had a family
at all the fact that I had a bed to
sleep in even if I was sharing a room
like the fact that I had the level of
support the fact that I was able to get
an education all these things were
things that I was grateful for and when
I could align my vision that way when I
could look at my life through a
gratitude lens right like I'm grateful
and I'm lucky to be in this position I'm
very blessed to be able to be able to do
this right it it transforms everything
that you do and it really does ignite a
level of energy a level of positivity
within you so I always tell people that
the positivity is important but it stems
from gratitude and I hope that you're
able to practice that on a daily basis
and again 5 minutes right you don't need
to be practicing gratitude for this
extensive period of time literally if
you want to be making it part of your
journaling session that you already have
in your mornings great if you want to do
it in the mid part of your day great
sometimes I just have my notes sheet on
my phone and I write things out that I'm
grateful for and then when things are
going a r then I'll take a look at it
I'm like yes this is my ability to to
stay grounded even in that moment
however that looks like for you i'
encourage you to try it yourself habit
number five water your relationships
this is a serious problem of mine where
I am the worst texter ever I am
absolutely atrocious with it and I know
that it's not a good thing I'm the type
where I'm so fully engulfed with what
I'm doing in terms of my work and now
that I'm spread out kind of thin with
business and with school and everything
in terms of my work sometimes I don't
necessarily have the opportunity to
respond to a message and then it there's
so many messages each day and it gets
lost in the fold and it's such a bad
habit of mine that I've developed and I
don't want that to be the case I want to
showcase other people that they are
meaningful to me right and that I
totally respect their time and I totally
respect the relationship that they have
with me and so I think watering
relationships are such an important
aspect of my personal development as
well because at the end of the day we
are social creatures and I'm not saying
water all your relationships right water
are the ones that are important to you
water are the ones that are in your
close Circle that actually want the best
for you and want the best for them like
the selfless types of relationships and
what you should do within that 5 minute
span is just reach out to them right
whether it's a message of hey I'm
thinking about you and I'm wishing you
the very best today hey I'm just praying
on you hey I'm just been thinking about
this because of X Y and Z that came up
in my life and I just want to wish you
the very best of luck whatever that
message is a very short one just let
people know that you're thinking of them
in your close Circle what I'll do within
that span also a lot of times is call my
dad and just say hi like how's your day
going um I miss you and just that close
relation that you have with your family
members or with your close people around
you even a small text goes such a long
way in terms of watering that
relationship because it needs that
nurturing too and so if you're somebody
like me where maybe messaging people
isn't your strongest suit and you get
fully heavily engulfed in your work
let's keep each other accountable and
not let that be an excuse to not respond
to the people that mean a lot to us
right so spend a little bit of time
nurturing that relationship on a daily
basis and it will go a long ways in
terms of them knowing that you respect
them and them knowing that you care for
them and that's important okay with that
being said that are all the five habits
that will only take up 5 minutes of your
day and I think that they're going to
make a profound impact on your life even
if each one of those themselves aren't
necessarily this long span this
intensive process all of them together
on a consistent basis will make a big
