instagram reels you're not getting the
views and the reach and the engagement
that you're looking for today i want to
give you three reasons why i actually
believe that pinterest idea pins are a
much better platform and idea than doing
instagram reels so the first reason why
i like pinterest idea pins over
instagram reels is because pinterest has
a longer shelf life than instagram does
if you've ever posted a reel on
instagram then you know within 48 to 72
hours pretty much you've gotten the
entire amount of reach that you're gonna
get unless you get a video that goes
viral but we know that that very rarely
happens so you know after that 72 hour
mark you'll stop getting views likes
comments and things like that but i'm
going to show you a couple of slides
right here on screen that show you our
top performing pins over the past 30
days that are idea pins and go ahead and
look at the date as i show you through
these some of these are months old a
couple of these are even more than a
year old and they're still getting reach
they're still getting views they're
still getting engagement reactions and
things like that and they're bringing in
leads for our business when you create
an instagram reel the problem is after
three or four days all the hard work
that you put into it is pretty much gone
whereas when you create a pinterest idea
pin that can last for months and years
after you create it which i think is a
much better strategy than an instagram
reel the second reason why i like
pinterest idea pins over instagram reels
is that pinterest is an seo platform and
instagram is more of a viral platform so
kind of like i was saying before you
know after about 48 to 96 hours you know
tick tocks and instagram reels unless
they go viral and get pushed out they're
pretty much dead in the water after
those two to three day mark but a
pinterest idea pin because it's seo
friendly as long as it's you know you're
using great keywords in the title you're
using great tags related to what the
topic is that you're discussing that can
be searched for over and over again as
long as it's relevant content so if
you're creating evergreen idea pins
which means it's a concept that stands
true to the test of time it's something
that doesn't change that's why you're
able to get those views months and years
you know on down the road as opposed to
an instagram reel because it is an seo
platform so it's something that people
can continue to search so that's the
second reason why i love idea pins more
than instagram reels and the third and
final reason why i love idea pins over
instagram reels is there's just simply
less competition it seems like every
single business owner is on instagram
creating reels but honestly very few
business owners are utilizing idea pins
for their business which means there's
simply less competition for you as far
as your niche and industry goes so when
you create those idea pins you can know
that you're only one of a few probably
in your niche and industry that are
pushing that type of content out whereas
on instagram you're kind of having to
fight for space fight for views and
engagement because there's so many
different types of business owners on
instagram and that just seems to be the
kind of go-to platform as far as social
media goes so there's just far more
competition on platforms like tick tock
and instagram than there is on pinterest
so hopefully this video was helpful for

personally think pinterest idea pins are
a better long term play for your
business than instagram reels instagram
just has so many algorithm updates and
changes and glitches and things like
that that it's starting to turn a lot of
people off to the platform in general
and especially towards instagram reels

and only getting you know a couple
hundred views at a time but as you can

earlier we're still getting thousands of
views on idea pins that are months and
years old and so if you're one of those
frustrated business owners you know i
would recommend highly just repurposing
your instagram reels onto pinterest just
put a few up put one up every single day
repurpose that content and see how it
does because honestly it couldn't hurt
