uh kind of
early but uh we are leaving the
shop about to hop in Will's truck and
take off with soccer mom headed for sick
week in
Orlando late night last night but cars
in the trailer didn't die to it like we
were thinking we were going to but
will laughs cuz I thought we'd be on the
dyno before like 10:00 nope didn't
happen wasn't even
close sometimes I'm too optimistic for
my own good I don't know if you can see
me or not maybe not all right let's uh
let's get to the racetrack
and see what we can
do

all right well we have made it to
Orlando Speed World Dragway kind of
crammed oursel in between some people
that have parked their Rigs and already
gone up to start the
event and uh there's a lot of people
here we're going to get the old soccer
mom
unloaded go head up to Tech and then
hopefully get in line and get a run or
two or three today cuz uh the engine has
never seen wide open throttle we'll do a
two-step check here in a little bit too
once we uh get her
out all that stuff so but first get
unloaded and then go to
Tech we are rolling to the techline
which I
believe wraps almost all the way around
the racetrack right now so here's Tech
but the actual Tech is somewhere way
back there a half mile away away so I've
got about a mile of techline to wait
through that's what we get for getting
here
late oh well what can you
do might need to get some gas by the
looks of that little red uh red block
right
there oh
well
well we're moving we were down there and
now we're right
here and I'm
uh battery's almost dead I'm have to
walk back to the trailer and get a
battery shoot down here eating some
breakfast ketchup flavored lace potato
chips not available in the United States
but apparently it's a Canada
thing and it's good really
good yeah sounds weird but really good

brought us brought us some down
so well another 2 hours maybe we'll be
ready to go make a
run well I don't know if you can tell on
the
video but it's
raining welcome to Florida but better to
get it out of the way
today than the rest of the week which
the for weather forecast looks pretty
good for the rest of the week so you
know hopefully it will
be and hopefully this is as heavy as it
gets so I guess we'll uh suffer through
it and see if we can get up to the tech
Barn I ran back to the trailer in the
rain to get a new battery for the
camera cuz you know you guys needed to
know it was raining
today I'm tired I might be a little bit
delusional
today you guys bear with me all right
well we have made it from all the way
down there where you can't hardly see we
probably
have about an eighth of a mile to go and
unfortunately you can kind of see the
water coming off the tractor
there but by the time we get through
Tech probably
be ready to go
race that's my prediction we'll see so
we do still need to do a spool test once
we get to the back to our
pits I've already gone through and kind
of built a boost ramp
that's partially based off some runs
we've made earlier since it is a 388
again use some of the runs we've used in
the pass although after 4 seconds I dro
the Boost to zero or at least the Dome
pressure to zero to try and prevent me
from sending it all the way out the back
door on the the first
pass so that's where we're
at well probably hold off on the next
part of the video till we get into
Tech all right well we are through Tech
all inspected I think oh yeah we got our
number so we're we're good to move but
uh there's our new number a 51f if you
guys want to follow along with us on the
live timing and I think I think the live
stream's a little bit delayed because of
the rain but we'll see but uh now it's
time to finish registration and then go
get ready for a

starting to turn the car around for
making a run down the track going to try
a spool test and see see how it
does this new combination and new parts
and everything's been pretty happy so
far so I think my old tune is going to
work but I guess we'll
see
seemed like it worked to
me all right we're going to try one more
that spooled well but the Boost kind of
was coming up kind of slow still even
when I lift it off so I'm to I've
changed the offset for the rev limiter
to where it's going to make more boost
before it drops the RPM so you may hear
it and come down so we'll see uh see how
it

here H up in a little bit yeah so that's
that should give me the data I need to
that should give me the data I need to
figure out exactly what I need to
change so I'm trying to Target like 9
and 1 12 10 lb so whenever the RPM went
back up it had falling below uh 9.8 lb
of boost so see what we got going on
here and then we'll be ready to go to
the starting line all right everybody
well got me a new helmet and uh been
wanting one of these steelos for a long
while and it's got Electronics built
into it and actually right now I'm able
to talk to will over here through the
headset and he's plugged into a car
harness right now that runs down
to the rugged Radio setup
here and when we're going down the road
we will both have headsets on if we want
to we can listen to the radio we can do
all kinds of stuff and uh pretty cool
kind of put one of these back in mullet
years ago and actually had one in a nail
truck when I was running it and it's
pretty awesome but uh yeah this is be
able to listen to some talk to each
other
better good deal I'm ready to go

racing all right we're rolling up for
pass number one at least I think we get
to roll
up we heard uh them announc some cars
come to the lanes and it was either a
class radio or C-Class radio was really
hard to hear so hopefully we're about to
make a
run either way we're going to stay up
here until until it is our turn to run
if it's not our turn to run
any it's time to go fast actually to be
honest with you guys I shut the Boost
controller to zero at 4 seconds so I'm
not going to be able to go that fast
which is keep me from uh going all the
way to the Finish Line we want to make a
short run look at some data and run uh
look over the car look for leaks look
for all that good stuff
so here we
go all right we're buckled in for first
run of s week
2024 following Alan
Whitaker's absolutely amazing money
Carlo this car is like that that thing's
good it's a show car that goes really
fast so got a few cameras we got that
one we got one back there
somewhere and one on the back of the car
so hopefully they all stay
recording try to give you guys some
decent footage for this week
but this is like I said earlier going to
be a partial pass it's kind of a little
40 through 60 ft I think know it's hard
to tell with all new stater in the
converter new uh new
engine so we'll see see what it does and
then take that data and come back for
run number two in a little
bit

though it was pretty slow it look good
coming down through

get the Jitters out of the
way everything worked well the radio
worked chatting with li while I was Road
coasting down the track the uh boost
shut off basically feels like the thing
blew up but obviously it didn't
everything's happy only 6 lb of coolant
pressure
right I think we'll just look at some
data compared to some of our earlier
runs and see what we need to do
to leg her out a little further next
time and uh if we can get a good maybe
one good pass all we might just put this
thing in the Box for
today all right real good early first
pass 127 332 507 at
130 so uh I'm going to go compare that
to some of our other runs
and see what we need to do to leg it out
a little further maybe I don't know I'm
just happy to be

879 I'm uh really excited about what
we're seeing in the
data uh with these were used spark plugs
we just hit and knock them off the table
put some used spark plugs in it I had
only planned to go 4
seconds we're going to probably put
those back in just cuz we're going to go
a little further this time maybe the
full pull we'll see but the thing that I
think is most telling about that
run couple things so yellow drive shaft
red
RPM green is Boost blue is G meter so
the dotted lines are all
from uh the 745 at 193 pass at
Indie and with the stator change the
engine the transmission fluid change all
the little changes we've made the
car really responded
early so you can see boost wise we're up
1.9 there
G meter is
up
2/10 drive shaft is up through here 4
mil an hour 4 mil an
hour 4 miles an
hour
and do I have Target Dome on here yes so
you can
see Target Dome here comes up plateaus
at 30 so that's all we had 30 versus
49 we get out here to where the gear
change happens and the Boost shuts
off and basically the
car at the gear change is only 1 mph
slower and it
has 11 PSI less boost in
it
so that's
Rowdy I think it'll basically run faster
than 7
50 with somewhere around 30 lbs of boost
for the entire run where it took
Actually I don't even think it's going
to take that much um but I guess we'll
find out this next run cuz I'm going to
turn the instead of plateauing at 32 and
shutting off at 4 seconds we are going
to Plateau this is 30 we're going to
Plateau at 32 and run it out all the way
to the
Finish unless it sounds like it's
turning a whole boatload RPM and I may
clip her off early because we don't need
to go faster than
seven 50 and the air is going to be even
better tomorrow so we're kind of
planning all this stuff and trying to
figure out what we want to
do but if we can get one good full pull
on this next one that was a 12760 ft not
even
trying which a 127 60 fot I would hope
we could do anywhere so this Texas Speed
388 appears to be quite the
Beast I'm excited
like yeah let's go do it
again all right let's see if the camera
lasts I had a rear drive shaft failure
in the right lane we've been sitting
here for a few

water temp oil pressure is great water
temp's great battery voltage is good she

charging that felt like a pretty good
run for how low a boost I think it was
like I think that was only 27 28 lbs of
boost something like that so uh I guess
we'll see you roll the window down and
get my time

see the number right there maybe what's
the number 25 1/2 to 26 1/2 no way there
is no way look at the data
bro so it's a little wavy so maybe we
got some some tuning to do there but
that bump right there is
27.3 wow the SAG there is

needs more power cuz it it falls 1200 on

shift what was it making at the shift 26
26 and A2 yeah right after the shift it
