practice and as we were about to drop

the gate I think U Hunter Lawrence

forgot to put the bike in first gear

they start in first gear here and he was

switching but nice nice recoup by him

and good start by Justin Cooper along

with a lot of these other guys pleaser

Anderson next and somehow Hunter still

with a good start let's go down to JT

it's interesting you say that about

first gear that was the question all

weekend long first gear or second gear

and remember we're at elevation here

we're at 5,000 ft so that affects the

power it affects how that delivery is

going to be off the start remember those

guys have P shoted every single time

that's where they've been on tou table

is getting off the line not so much in

this first start and it has to be just

because of the change not everything

exactly the same different gearing

different first gear versus second gear

and you saw the results of that so far

and you mentioned James Anderson here in

second on the green 21 used to these

conditions yeah this is a localish saw

his dad who you don't often see at the

races but he was here today and said

yeah at least once a year they would

come and race a big one here if not more

than that growing up so he's fairly

comfortable maybe more so than some some

of the others but he's going to have to

deal with Hunter Lawrence now yeah Jason

he looks good his bike looks good uh to

me there's it looks very um fluid like

as far as it's not really so rigid so

when he's leaning a motorcycle not

kicking around so I think Jason's in a

great spot for him he's watching Justin

Cooper get away but Justin bar in front

of him not really holding him up if Jet

and Hunter don't respond soon Justin

Cooper's going to have a 10-second lead

and they will not be able to close that

down just exactly Hunter Lawrence was

not able to in Moto two of the two class

here a year ago thanks JT Hunter

Lawrence trying to get Bara as Anderson

did while we were talking track side

they've got to because yes Anderson

going quick and Cooper continuing to

extend that lead so sense of urgency

here from Hunter to get Bara and he does

yeah nice move of um Hunter up that

inside and yeah you can see and it's

it's funny to watch jet Lawrence behind

him like he's standing up because those

guys are battling just like okay what

are you going to do and that's to bring

Chase ston in in back into this thing

and kind of if I'm chase ston you got to

wonder like is he you know feeding off

that confidence what he was able to do

last weekend they said they kind of ran

out of time and then to JT's point and

yourself James then just go back to what

you know because it works I'll tell you

what works right now laen trying

everything to get Anderson J and

Anderson doing everything he can to hold

him back yeah and speaking of History

these two guys got history as well from

that same race in Salt Lake City so you

you can see the games being played a

little bit and yeah that wasn't a a race

pass it was an aggressive pass but if

jet going to get away from him CU you

know all all bets are off with Jason

Anderson right there but as Justin goes

and as this race goes on that's where

he's losing his time in these Corners

him slamming into these walls and those

guys are not just uh they're able to

continue that momentum and that's been

the biggest difference I see between

those three as Hunter Lawrence almost

goes down trying to get back to the

inside right there dig deep that's

Cooper's mechanic getting three more

laps is what they're telling him let's

see how many laps there truly will be

there's still 7 minutes and two to go

they might be just saying that this is

the critical juncture you've got to keep

this Gap where it is yeah and Justin's

really quick in this first uh segment

he's about a half a second faster in

these guys pretty much every lap so this

is a part of racetrack that he has

dialed in and some it's a little bit

more open I think you can sweep around

the corners a little bit better so maybe

he feels more comfortable here but when

the track gets a little bit tighter in

the middle part the The Hondas they seem

like they're closing in and I think it

comes down to just a little bit of line

selection between uh the 32 and the 96

and as that time that he was able to

hold these guys off you could see the

distance that he lost by one corner

being able to make the inside and Jet's

probably going to have to jump on Justin

as well otherwise that his older brother

is going to be gone and then the lap

Rider held up Cooper so he couldn't get

back to Hunter jet leaping up the inside

seals the pass there it is and as

quickly as he was he went to first and

third and still a great ride by Justin

Cooper but that was as quickly as they

strike both brothers could jumped on him

quickly you know Hunter talked last week

about that 450 will wear you out do you

think that was a little bit maybe a

factor for trer leading yeah I think

it's I mean it's the realization that

hey you're leading this 450 and

eventually these guys are coming and I

mean still it's a great rod and I think

no matter what happens to Justin Cooper

He's going to be better off after this

yeah that was a big one and I was

noticing Chase Exon uh Jason Anderson

was starting to catch Chase I just felt

like he was more uncomfortable and then

we saw Jason we see Jason Anderson just

a little bit further probably on the

same lap go down as well but that back

end and that KTM kicked out and Chase

was on for a r him and to be able to get

this win Jason um it might be another

one coming here in a few another hour or

so but hunter Lawrence here's your guy

unbelievable this family coming from

Australia and getting to this level to

maybe be the two best in the game Moto

one Colorado goes to Hunter

Lawrence there's jet not quite 100%

after last week's crash Road well I'd

say for about 25 minutes of this 30

minute and two laap race in the end his

brother pulled away and this is not what

chase ston the championship leader

coming in wanted sixth place here to the

results Cooper holds on for third ston

after the crash recovers for sixth

for them starting the race way back and

Degan and V it's a rematch they battled

last week and also chance heus fourth at

the first two races he wants a top three

he wants to show he can run with the

front he's there right now well it's a

perfect scenario if we talked about

whether it was a Tom putting the

pressure on Hayden well we're going to

find out because now they lined up as if

they didn't crash last weekend nice to

see chance himman and be interesting to

watch how he reacts to this now him

being closed normally when he's up here

he's either out front or too far back if

he's getting that confidence maybe he

can able to pass these guys and move his

way up and now we'll really see what

chance heus and how much he's improved

this year yeah second full Pro season

for heus out of Idaho and it's so fun to

listen to Jason when you talk to them I

just told you that I spoke to Hayden and

his his attitude of a establishing

himself and saying that Tom hadn't put

any pressure on him well I asked Tom I

said you know were you putting pressure

on Hayden there does it bother you that

he's the guy no no and he's just he's so

even kill it's unbelievable the team say

that too they say he's so fun and easy

to work with he doesn't get bothered by

anything and maybe it's all the

experience that he has we know he's new

to being over here in the us but we also

know that he is an mxgp world champion

maybe it's that or maybe it's just

personality but it is fascinating to

watch yeah and he is more experienced to

that point than the other riders in this

class cuz he won the essentially the

European version of this Championship

MX2 in the mxgp season Championship

rival out of France lurking in the

number two spot the Gap has been between

a second and a half and just over two

seconds there is the in the blue gear

making the move on a lap Rider second

place James Stewart you're seeing

different parts of the racetrack where

they gain and lose time on each other

yeah I think you know you're watching

Hayden um you know change up his lines

and Tom closing in on him and it just

depends on what part of the racetrack

they're at and to me it seems like

Hayden has to figure out and get his

bike straight up and down on the lean

that seems like the KTM and Tom be on

these flat parts of racetrack his bike

is working so it allows him to be if

there's no burm or no rut he's able to

carry that momentum where Hayden seems

like he's struggling around jik so uh

Levi must have found a a good Rhythm

let's see if he goes up the inside

doubles up the inside of chance and

there you go I wouldn't say chance did

anything wrong Levi just pulled out a

new line was and kind of a line that

nobody went jumped up the inside nice

pass by him that's kitchen the rider out

of wugo Washington on the Kawasaki in

third collectively Tom V and myself have

to keep the pressure on Hayden Degan and

for him he said that needs to be a win

will has gotten to Degan crossed him up

and made the pass

yeah I don't know what happened we

looked like Hayden was off the RAC trck

and I was just saying like man Tom

needed to get a little bit closer um to

to Hayden to make a make a mistake and

Hayden did we can show you big move by

late all right Hayden's going up the

inside this this part is off camber so

this is where Hayden go so he goes down

yeah just loses the front end and as I

was saying the way this track the

corners are all always falling away from

you I mean Hayden got up really quickly

but yeah this was all when I'm talking

about Hayden struggling with the lines

and how that bike is reaction and Tom

capitalized on that but now Hayden's

going to have to get back and try to get

in front of him like ASAP otherwise Tom

might be able to ride off on him oh it

sets up a fantastic run to the end two

minutes and two laps to go that's three

maybe four laps left in this race ah no

line there for Degan but this is another

section they're going to hit this jump

and as they start bending to to the

right Degan setting himself up to the

inside I was shocked it I was shocked

that Tom went outside I was like no he's

not going to go outside you knew that

pass was coming wow what a move by

Hayden clutch move because the white

flag is now out and degan's going to

drop the hammer oh that was a huge

mistake by Tom out like he just saw what

happened the last lap Hayden almost got

him to go outside wow that was a huge

mistake and Hayden got it done as you

can see Hayden saw the opportunity he

was going in for the pass jumped in

there and Tom that was it that was the

pass and it might be the pass for the

win what a recovery by Hayden Degan so

you're saying the should have known

Degan was on the inside of him the

previous lap you just can't leave that

open power a run for the 16 now Tom's

been very quick here he's been able to

stay on the outside and kind of start to

square up on Hayden as he does right now

let's see if he gets the Run he's on the

a move that's what I thought he he had

better lines he was able to square that

corner up and get on the inside of hay

but Hayden shed him down and that was

that was the difference where I said Tom

that was a great move by Chase and as I

was saying be patient I don't think

Chase is going to listen to those keys

that bike that first Moto between the

first Moto sure seems to be working now

as the number four ston looking to

overhaul Lawrence for second not quite

able to make it happen yeah you know

Chas and they didn't put down a lot of

water and the one thing that's different

this weekend that these guys are used to

having look at seon James he just rammed

into Hunter Lawrence and as I was saying

he don't need to be patient that was a

great move and if you're struggling some

days on the motorcycle this is exactly

what you need to do if the bike ain't

feeling good or you're not feeling good

and Jason Anderson he wants to get on

the party as well he just blasted past

jet Lawrence on the downhill and there

is a serious rivalry between both

lawrences and Anderson now he's yet

going for the lead James almost able to

take the measure of Cooper a completely

different Chase ston from earlier today

leaping into the lead can Cooper respond

he does yeah and the way that corner was

Chase was trying to get back to the

inside and he couldn't off camera but

still just the aggressiveness from Chase

and since they didn't put down a lot of

water on the track it allows these guys

to be racy off the first lap and now was

a nice move and nice attempt by chase

ston this is where ston made the move on

Hunter one lap a go not close enough

back to Cooper that was a nice little

the inside line we've seen this several

times James and seon goes flying and

down and yeah I was going to say Justin

Cooper partly that was because of Justin

Cooper didn't let off the throttle and

that's saw Chase go in there and he

started losing a front tire both rear

and um the front and rear and going off

that jump and yeah he went on for the r

but that was because Justin Cooper

didn't back off the throttle and he

stayed in Chase had to make a decision

he ends up going down but what a move

well two sides of it seon was more

aggressive than usual in this Moto and

it cost him this time show it to you

again yeah so the inside Chase was able

to get over his jump which had more more

momentum and here you go you can see

when he comes up short he just lost the

rear end both ends and slid in but I

think again it was because Justin Cooper

never backed out of that

thing maybe he didn't even see him until

the last moment if Chase was going down

corner anyway Jason whether Justin

was thinking like okay you're really

going to figure out how that arm is if

he was able to get around Hunter then I

knew okay he's been being patient Hunter

is starting to lose to tow to Justin

Cooper I got to get around him but if

his arm was hurting then that's pretty

much where he had and nice move and I'm

sure jet Lawrence is going to try to go

out there Justin Cooper CU that's your

for your overall at that point would it

be massive for jet Lawrence to come back

from a huge crash last weekend and dig

this out and become the overall winner

and he's right to Cooper yeah nice month

and he's had the luxury of been able to

watch both these guys and really study

all day long where where they've been

fast at so he can kind of use that he

knows where Cooper has been good and the

same thing with Hunter Lawrence and

those guys haven't seen um they've been

in front of him most of the day so they

haven't seen jline wouldn't be surprised

if he gets around them pretty quickly if

you do the math if it ends like this

the weekend if Hunter can repass jet

he's the overall winner if jet passes

for between the brothers I don't think

did a great job at holding and you saw

hay Degan all that water on the track

trying to stay up and if it's important

for Hayden with the mud on the racetrack

he's going to try to get around him but

chance heus got a third place start that

first one now he's out front let's see

what he can do with it and this time

Levi kitchen is up front didn't have the

start he wanted in the first race he's

there third behind he

yeah now it's a tough position for these

guys to be in because it's not a full

mud race but how much rain that's been

on the track it just makes it really

just slippery on top and it didn't get

it didn't rain enough to get it down in

the soil so all that rain that water's

just sitting on top of this track is

going to be really slippery these first

few laps yeah is it actually more

slippery this way yeah and the hard part

is it's more slippery cuz as I was

saying the water just sat on top of that

hard base and they're still going fast

so it's not like a normal traditional

mud race when it R when it rains that

much these guys slow down I don't

suspect they're going to slow down too

much on this race no I believe that's

Tom the um in fourth place and he wasn't

he wasn't even close to those guys

though that's jik SW behind him fifth

though he's close oh kitchen sending it

into the side almost got to Degan that

almost the Friendship Zone might have

been over at that moment that was close

that was really close and Levi how

slippery this race strike is I would

have just gave an excuse man I couldn't

stop man you see how slippery it is but

yeah just showed you how they want to be

in front of Hayden they know how this

how Hayden's been strong at the end of

the Moto and don't let him get get that

confidence get in front of him and I

think the way this track will be this

Moto it be more like Levi likes it a

little bit deeper a little bit more um

you know technical being so slippery but

he tried making that move but now I

don't see him in front of him and it

looks like he must have went down cuz

he's he's Behind These Guys oh you're

right good call James so B has lost two

positions he's behind swo and shimoto

and shim's digging this is now a battle

for a podium in this Moto yeah good

shout out to jalik he's been again

riding good all day long and that pace

out I was mentioned about the guys that

get a gap with chance Heyman having the

lead the Gap over Hayden now Hayden

would have to push himself and try to

push to make that uh that distance up

and Tom vat was in that same situation

every time you do that on this racetrack

it's easy to make mistakes we've seen it

all day long and it bit um Tom B this

second Moto he has shown that he is fit

this time he's going to get the lead and

hold it we started the day talking

kitchen the Degan establishing

themselves in this

series I think Chance highness Is For

Real as a contender as well super chunk

those things might be super Chunk in

that gap for the out front but looking

at Hayden Degan and Joe shimoto look at

this pass the mechanic nodding he feels

good because For the First time ever

chadus is a winner as a professional he

takes the Moto win Degan will hold off

shimoda to the

line and that should give Degan the

overall man if shimoda had gotten there

it would have been an overall win for

heus I think Mom's happy enough yeah

she's fine she's fine great ride by all

three of these

guys yeah that was big for shimota too

to kind of reestablish himself as a

player yeah he's going to hold on to the

podium a wild Moto for him but the

mistake chimoto fourth kitchen not what

he wanted in that Moto 7eventh got

passed by his teammate masterpol fifth
