次世代プロセッサーはIntel
IntelCoreIntelCore
ウルトラとなることが発表されています
こんなイメージですねここがブランドに
なりますのでIntelCoreだったり
IntelCoreウルトラとなったりし
ますそしてここが少し見づらいですけど
ブランドレベルということで今までと同じ
ように5とか7とか9とかそんな数字が
入りますこれまでと違うのはこのシリーズ
と書いてあるところが今新しいのは1に
なっててるんですけどもこれまでは13
世代とか14世代とか例えば1360とか
ですねそんな風になってましたこれが世代
じゃなくてシリーズとなりますまずは1
から始まると60とかこのskuは変わら
ないとこの最後のサフィックスはクロック
シア数の制限が少ない系とか出てくるんだ
と思いますこのブランド名というところと
世代からシリーズに変わったっていうのが
大きな変更じゃないかなと思いますねこの
ブランドが変わるのは次世代プロセッサー
からなんですね6月の時点の次世代なので
すでに2023年12月に発売されてます
この発売されたコードネームメテオレイク
世代以降のプロセッサーをさしますとこれ
がややこしいのはそのため全世代の
マイナーチェンジ版がCoreiでまだ
発売されてるんですね私自身も間違えてた
んですが2023年6月これ以降に発売さ
れるブランドが変わるんだとちょっと思っ
てたんですが次世代のこのメテオレイク
世代以降のプロセッサーのブランドが
変わるあるんですよ全世代13世代とかと
呼ばれていたもののマイナーチェンジ版が
14世代としてCoreiとして年末年始
に発売されてるんですねつまり中身はそれ
ほど変わらずクロック周波数がちょっと
高くなっただけとかそんなマイナー
チェンジ版はベースは古いものなのでそれ
はCoreiシリーズとしてまだ発売され
てるんですよただこれもおそらくそろそろ
最後になるんじゃないかなと思いますね
Coreiシリーズはそして非常に面白い
のがAppleブランドに間違われること
を防ぐ狙いがあるんだとIntelの担当
ディレクターが語ってるわけですよつまり
これまでのCoreiシリーズとかのi
ですよねIがつくってAppleによく
あるじゃないですかAppleになんか
関係あるのかと思われると勘違いされると
いうことを防ぐ狙いが今回のブランド変更
にあるとつまり愛がなくなるわけですよね
じゃあなんでこのタイミングなのと
AppleがIを使ってたのって随分前
からだと思うのでなぜ2023年なのかと
いうのが私も疑問だったんですけども
とあるニュースサイトで実はAppleは
IntelからAppleシコンに変更し
しましたよねAppleM1とかM2とか
M3って発売されてますけども2023年
の段階でAppleStoreには
IntelのCPUのものがえプロモデル
だったかななんかまだ残ってたんですよね
でそれがとうとうなくなったと2023年
の段階でIntelがなくなったという
ことになったのでAppleとIntel
の円が完全に切れたこのタイミングで
ブランド変更したんじゃないかという話も
あってあそれはそれで辻合うななんて思っ
てましたメテオレイクで今回作られた
IntelCoreウルトラこれが
2023年12月に発売されましたがこの
特徴を見ていきたいと思うん
です今回発売されたIntelCore
ウルトラはまずノートPC用が発売されて
ますこれまでと異なりコンピュート
グラフィックス等の各タルを組み合わせて
1つのCPUパッケージを作成してるん
ですねこれまでは各タルで分けるなんて
ことはなかったわけですよイメージとして
はこんな感じです外から見た目はこれが1
つのCPUに見えるんですけど実は中に
このようにタイルで分かれてるわけですね
こういったタイル構造とすることで将来の
製品においてこのうちのCPUタイルだけ
をカスタマイズするなんていうことも比較
的容易にできるそうです今回のこの
Intelコアウルトラにおいてもこの
タイルが全てIntel製じゃないんです
よね確か半分ぐらいは他のIntel以外
のメーカーが作ったものをタイルとして1
つのCPUのパッケージに収めてるとそう
いうま分業もしやすくなるみたいですね
このコンピュートタイルいわゆるCPU
タイルですけれども高性能Pコアと高効率
ECOREこれは今までもあったんですが
それに加えて低電力LPECOREという
ものも統合しましたこれのあるおかげで
非常に負荷は低いんだけど処理時間が長い
ような何か例えば何かの写真をずっと見
てるとかYouTubeみたいな動画を見
てるとか非常に負荷の低い処理は低電力の
lpeコアに任せることでよりバッテリー
が長持ちするそうです3つ目の特徴として
AI処理用のnpuIntelAI
エンジンが統合されてますこれ多分
Intelで初だったと思うんですよね次
でお話しする内容に非常に深く関わる内容
になってますのでAI処理用のnpuに
ついては後ほどまだ詳しく説明いたします
そして私も嬉しい上位機種にはIntel
アークグラフィックスを搭載しました
IntelアーってIntelが作ってる
グラフィックスプロセッサーユニットに
なるわけですがこれまでもCPUとは別に
載せるというパターンはあったんですよ
ただそのパターンの時はいわゆるGPUを
後付けでけるのと一緒になるので消費電力
も非常に大きくてそのノートPCは非常に
大きくて重たいACアダプターを持ち歩か
なければいけなかったんですねIntel
アーに限らずIntel性のCPUで
グラフィックスをそれなりに重視すると
それをノートPCで実現すると大きくて
重たいACアダプターを持ち歩かなきゃ
いけないとかバッテリーが数時間しか持た
ないとかですねそんなことがよくあった
わけです外付けとして売っていたような
IntelアーgrafixがCPUに
内蔵されましたのでより消費電力の低い
ものができたわけですね既に発売されてる
IntelCoreウルトラのノートPC
を見ると汎用的な100WのUSBパー
デリバリーのACアダプターで使えてまし
たねこれ便利ですよ専用のACアダプタ
持ち歩かないでえUSBのパワー
デリバリーのアダプターで使えるので軽い
ものとかね選べるじゃないですかそして
スマホとかも充電も同時にできますから
USBのパワーデリバリーで充電でき
るっていうのはね非常に大きいんですよね
そしてIntelCoreウルトラとかの
このシリーズは外で1日中使えるような
設計となっているそうですIntelの
CPUでグラフィックスをそこそこ使い
たいと外でちょっとした動画を編集したい
とか写真のPhotoshopでちょっと
修正したいとかですねそういうことをやり
たい人にはですねいいんじゃないかなと
思いますねそしてこのwindows12
との関係です
よもちろんこれはあくまでも推測になる
わけですがIntelの幹部が2024年
の夏頃だったかなWindowsが
リフレッシュされると発言してるわけです
ねリフレッシュというのは新しい
Windowsが出るということだろうと
推測が経ったわけですが今回ですねその
Windows12の目玉になるだろうと
言われてるのがAI処理が現在のクラウド
処理からクラウドプスローカルの
ハイブリッド処理へ移っていくんではない
かと言われてます今までのチットGPTと
かそういったAIって基本的には自分の
パソコンで処理してんじゃなくてパソコン
で打ったらその情報がインターネットを
返してチャットGPTとかのサイトに飛ん
でいってそこで処理されて何かしらの
グラフィックスとか文字とかが結果として
で返されてパソコンで表示すると自分の
パソコンではあまり頭を使ってないって
ことなんですよねクラウド上に投げて
しまうと精密な処理はできるものの
やっぱりインターネットを返して投げて
戻ってくるわけですから時間がかかるわけ
ですよものにより蹴りですけれどもそれ
ほど精密なものが必要ないパターンであれ
ばローカルの中で計算してローカルっての
はつまり自分のパソコンで計算して素早く
結果を返す方が効率が良いっていうことが
あるわけですよねAIの処理によって
クラウドを使ったりローカルで処理したり
ということが今後はできるようになる
だろうつまりそれがハイブリッド処理と
言われてるわけですがそのAIのローカル
処理パソコンでやるにはnpuが必須な
わけですよAI専用のそして今回この
IntelのCPUに初めてAI用の
npuが搭載されたこれはWindows
12との共業の可能性が高いとつまりこの
後Windows新しいAIに最適化した
Windowsを発売するからその前に
AIに最適なパソコン発売しといてくれよ
とこういうことじゃないかということです
ねまIntelのWindowsがね
リフレッシュするよIntelの発言と
合ってるわけですよねそしてIntel
だけじゃなくてIntel以外のAMDと
かそして今後Windowsに参入すると
言われてるqualcomこれもAI用の
npuを今年搭載し始めてるわけですよ
Windowsに関わるであろうCPU
メーカーが全てnpuを搭載してるという
のはこれはもうねWindows12への
準備との見方が濃厚になるのは当然だと
思います推測の意は出ませんけども
Windows10から11とかとは違っ
てnpuが搭載されてればローカルでAI
処理ができますからよりリッチな体験が
できるでしょうしnpuがなくてもそれ
だけの理由でWindows12に上げる
ことはできないよとはならないと思うん
ですよ前回windows11の
ハードウェアの足切りでかなり品質を変え
ましたからね期待も込めて推測してると
いうところですねはいそれではまとめに
なり
ますIntelがリブラを2023年6月
に発表しました20233年12月発売の
メテオレイク世代以降でCoreウルトラ
と従来のCorei7などは使用しないと
いうことになってます逆に言えばメテオ
レイクじゃない従来のマイナーアップ
バージョンである14世代のCPU等は
まだCoreiシーズで発売されるので
混乱しやすいというところですねそして
IntelCoreウルトラは低電力LP
ECOREAI用のnpuIntel
アークgrafixを搭載するなど全く
新しい構成になってますこれは楽しみです
ですねIntelCoreウルトラは
もちろん各CPUメーカーはaionpu
を搭載し始めており2024年にAIに
最適化したWindows12の発売が
予想されますnpuを使ったローカルでの
AIどの程度のレスポンスがあってどの
程度の制度が出るのかこの辺りも是非試し
てみたいところですはいそれでは最後に
