Q & A
What is the concept of the 'INTP army' mentioned in the transcript?
-The 'INTP army' is a metaphorical concept where the speaker is encouraging INTPs (a personality type in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) to subscribe to their channel, which is focused on content related to peas. It's a playful way to engage the audience and promote interaction.
How does the speaker describe the self-critical nature of INTPs?
-The speaker describes INTPs as being highly attuned to logical inconsistencies, contradictions, and paradoxes. This can lead to them being pedantic and harsh when pointing out these issues to others. However, they are also very self-critical and harsh on themselves, especially when they behave irrationally or fall short of their own high standards.
What is the advice given for dealing with reoccurring scenarios that an INTP might dislike?
-The advice given is to increase one's tolerance or 'fitness' to these scenarios, which means accepting them as inevitable and focusing on returning to a normal baseline state as quickly as possible. The speaker also suggests embracing negative emotions or less than ideal self-states and finding ways to make them useful.
How does the speaker relate the concept of physical fitness to emotional resilience?
-The speaker draws a parallel between physical fitness, defined by the ability to quickly return to a baseline heart rate, and emotional resilience. They suggest that instead of avoiding embarrassing or irrational situations, one should focus on recovering from these situations swiftly and seamlessly.
What is the irony the speaker points out about INTPs?
-The irony is that while INTPs are fully aware of the issues that their high standards can cause, they also recognize that the irrationality they often dismiss in others can affect them as well. They are aware of their own potential for irrational behavior and the challenges it presents.
What is the advice for INTPs who want to start a YouTube channel?
-The advice is to initially focus on the practical setup aspects such as buying a camera, finding an editing software, and setting up the recording environment. The speaker suggests not to get caught up in the larger decisions like content or channel name at first, but to get everything in place and then bring in the perfectionism when ready to start creating content.
Why is it important for INTPs to find a balance between their comfort zone and discomfort?
-INTPs need a balance because being in a constant state of discomfort can discombobulate and overwhelm them, while too much comfort can lead to stagnation. They thrive on pondering and perfecting things, which is easier to do from a state of comfort.
How does the speaker suggest INTPs approach debates or discussions?
-The speaker suggests that INTPs should initially use their extraverted feeling (Fe) function, which involves charm and a more receptive approach. This can make others less defensive and more open to the logical insights that INTPs can provide.
What is the main challenge INTPs face when starting a new project or task?
-The main challenge is getting started on the small and boring aspects of the task. INTPs often find the intelligent and creative aspects of a project easy and enjoyable, but setting up the environment and initial conditions can be daunting.
What is the speaker's view on the importance of truth and how it should be communicated?
-The speaker believes that while truth is important, telling the whole truth right away is not always the best approach. They suggest easing people into the truth, being charming, and making the other person feel that the insights are being shared rather than imposed.
What is the final piece of advice given to INTPs in the transcript?
-The final advice is for INTPs to use their power of mind to affect the world positively. The speaker encourages INTPs to share their insights in a way that others can listen to and agree with, leading to interesting or positive outcomes.

Transcripts
okay so before we start iit peas are
pretty well represented on this channel
in terms of how many videos we have on
them so naturally I thought let's create
an INTP army don't worry I've thought
this through this army is predicated on
the fact that these will be robotic
soldiers remote-controlled from your
bedrooms to join this INTP army all you
have to do is you guessed it click the
subscribe button to our channel
rather than being one of those intps who
just watches from the shadows without
subscribing self-critical intps are
highly attuned to logical
inconsistencies and things
contradictions paradoxes they can come
across as extremely pedantic and even
harsh when they point these things out
to others but one possibly overlooked
way that this manifests is being very
self-critical and harsh on themselves
mainly this is when they behave
irrationally now one quick look at
people in practice or even in
evolutionary theory will tell you that
human beings on Logic have a very
tenuous relationship at best
the ultra rational and scientific
approach to life is a very recent
addition to humans nonetheless as
optimistic as it is I tepees try to live
this way and when they fall below their
own high standards which is inevitable
it kind of messes them up a little bit
for example if they got into an
extremely emotional argument or heated
confrontation is going to be this
residual sense of self judgment over the
perceived loss of control that they've
shown this self-criticism and overly
high standards is not just something
that comes up after events have happened
it's something that can stop them doing
things in the first place their desire
to be exact and precise halts their
productivity greatly they're often
detailed orientated perfectionists when
it comes to things that they care about
and if you want to get lots of things
done you have to to a certain extent
sacrifice those perfectionistic
tendencies as Moriarty says to Sherlock
in one scene that's your weakness you
always want everything to be clever
sometimes things don't need to be clever
they just need to be done here's the
irony though
intps are actually fully aware of this
but they are aware of the issues that
their own empower
be high standards can cause them they
are aware that the irrationality that
seems to plague other people that they
put into their stupid zone can just as
easily afflict them as well in a sense
intps and their approach to life is
fighting against human nature at least
the way human nature is in this current
stage of our evolution
okay so let's dish out some advice
because you know I'm 25 and I clearly
know everything about life so what do
you do when there are reoccurring
scenarios in your life that you dislike
but you know are inevitable such as
behaving irrationally or simply just
doing things that make you feel bad in
some way here's two options increase
your tolerance / fitness and embrace ok
so point 1 what do I mean by increased
fitness well Fitness in physical terms
is defined by how quickly you can return
back to your baseline heart rate and
this concept can be taken and applied to
other scenarios - so rather than trying
to avoid embarrassing irrational
situations instead see them as
inevitable and focus on returning back
to your normal baseline state as quickly
and seamlessly as possible if you do
something you perceive to be silly or
embarrassing or below your own standards
just delete it and move on as the saying
goes you're only as good as your last
performance so this can go both ways
whether you've just done something
really stupid or something really
impressive don't get too hard on
yourself but at the same time don't get
to impress myself either learn from the
past focus on the future point to
embrace it think Bruce Banner and the
Hulk what is a super intelligent nerdy
guy focused on figuring things out and
created then there's the Hulk who is
just the embodiment of rage and
aggression very unreasonable and kind of
stupid but extremely powerful if you can
take your negative emotions or less than
ideal self and make it work for you in
some way suddenly your bad moments can
have some kind of silver lining or be
useful to you taking action
ing PS are not huge expanders of energy
most of the time or should I say they
see thinking as an activity when someone
asks an intp you what they've been up to
today I can see them trying to say I had
lots of in
thoughts without something insane more
conventional or mundane kinds of action
can be very draining for intps here's
the issue I've noticed it tends to be
the small and more boring aspects of
getting started on something that tends
to mess idps up the intelligent and
creative aspects of things are easy for
them okay not easy but they enjoy and
get drawn to those things so much that
eventually they'll just figure them out
it's the setting up the environment
that's the difficult thing for them for
example let's say you're an INTP who
wants to start a YouTube channel my
advice would be initially don't spend
any time thinking about the kind of
content you wanna make the name of the
channel or any of the big things like
that that stuff you just figure out
eventually focus all of your initial
energy on the boring set up kind of
stuff buy a camera or use your phone buy
a stand to put it on find the editing
software you going to use etc don't just
do one of those things then try to start
to perfect it and master it get
everything put in place then take a
breath then bring the perfectionism back
in when you're ready to go INTP is the
time to sit down in front of a camera
then off the top of the head give some
impressive or insightful speech then
realize that the camera was off
basically my advice is to actually sweat
the small stuff your comfort zone for
intps having introverted sensing in
their third shot means they really enjoy
their creature comforts their habits
their routines I've mentioned this many
times before so I'll be brief on this
topic people say that you have to go out
of your comfort zone to grow and I think
that's true but I think the people can
also take us too far by advocating that
you constantly live outside of your
comfort zone in my experience yes
throw away comfort to push yourself and
to grow but when you want to create
things especially as an INTP returned
back to a state of comfort and create
from there
intps need to ponder and perfect things
being in a constant state of discomfort
will discombobulated them and overwhelm
them at the same time too much comfort
leads to stagnation offending humans I
mean people so this tends to come from
the imbalance between their top and
bottom functions TI and Fe when you see
someone like Richard Dawkins debating he
see I like a hammer to hit people over
the head with IE even heard a peer a
federal scientist of his asked him why
don't you try to charm people into
seeing your point of view try to be
seductive in your arguments rather than
so logically combative when you start
off with one of us is right on one of us
is wrong you're instantly putting the
other person in a position where they
have to admit that they're wrong
which for lots of people is just never
going to happen even if you are the kind
of person who yourself would admit when
you're wrong there's no reason to think
that would automatically apply to others
or that they would somehow see that and
respond in good faith if an intp were to
start by using their bottom function and
come out with that kind of extraverted
feeling charm and in a sense holds their
biggest weapon back it gives room for
the other person to open up and then
depending on how mean you want to be
letting them open up can mean they get
falsely secure and reveal too much and
then you can swoop in and just point out
all the logical inconsistencies with
what they've said oh and this is what I
would advise get people into a position
where they're less defensive and more
receptive to your insights you'd be
amazed at not just how willing people
are to hear your insights
but how grateful they can actually be if
they feel you're sharing your insights
with them rather than attacking them
with them if you care about the truth
then telling the whole truth right away
is not always the best move ease people
in be as charming and schmooze E as you
possibly can without making yourself
physically sick int P is often have so
much to give and when you can take those
insights that you've been analyzing and
pondering over give them to another
person have that person listen to you
agree with you then use those insights
to do something interesting or positive
that is a fantastic place to be in as an
INTP simply with the power of your mind
you get to affect the world also as well
as subscribing which I know you did at
the start of the video feel free to
check out our patreon as well which I'll
link down below in the description
in case you haven't noticed we have some
pretty cool typology themed mugs that
we've designed personally I think these
would be a pretty solid present just
make sure you've typed the person right
first before you buy them one
