🌞 Avoiding Sun Exposure Affects Fertility

The first paragraph emphasizes the importance of not avoiding the sun, as natural sunlight is a vital source of vitamin D, which is linked to higher AMH levels. The speaker advises enjoying the sun responsibly, suggesting 20 minutes of exposure between 11:00 and 2:00 without sunscreen, and highlights the correlation between vitamin D and AMH levels. The goal is to increase vitamin D levels to support healthy AMH levels, although an increase in vitamin D does not guarantee an increase in AMH.

05:02

🌿 Chemical Pesticides as Fertility Disruptors

The second paragraph discusses the harmful effects of pesticides, particularly Roundup, on fertility and the endocrine system. The speaker recommends ceasing the use of such chemicals in one's yard and suggests natural alternatives like vinegar for weed control. For those who rent and lack control over pesticide use, the advice is to minimize exposure and inquire about safer alternatives. The paragraph also touches on the importance of consuming organic food to reduce the intake of harmful chemicals that can affect fertility.

10:05

📝 Reducing To-Do Lists for Fertility Health

The third paragraph focuses on the stress that an overloaded to-do list can impose on the body and its impact on fertility. The speaker encourages saying 'no' more often to non-essential tasks and reducing the daily burden on the adrenal glands and nervous system. By doing less and allowing more downtime for rest and recovery, the body can function more optimally, which is beneficial for ovarian function and fertility.

💧 Ensuring Quality Drinking Water for Fertility

The fourth paragraph addresses the importance of clean drinking water for fertility health. It stresses the need for a good filtration system to remove chemicals and toxins from water sources. The speaker also advises against using plastic containers for storing water due to potential toxins like BPA and recommends using glass or stainless steel bottles. The goal is to minimize exposure to endocrine disruptors that can negatively affect fertility.

🚫 Avoiding Conventional Tampons for Fertility

The fifth and final paragraph warns against the use of conventional tampons and pads due to their pesticide-laden cotton content, which can introduce harmful chemicals into the body. The speaker recommends using organic tampons or pads without applicators and chlorine-free pads to avoid exposure to toxins like glyphosate and dioxin. The vagina's permeable mucus membrane allows for easy absorption of these toxins, which can have detrimental effects on fertility.

Mindmap

Keywords

💡AMH

AMH stands for Anti-Müllerian Hormone, which is a hormone in the blood that is used as an indicator of a woman's ovarian reserve. In the video, the speaker discusses the importance of AMH levels in relation to fertility and how certain behaviors can potentially affect these levels. The video aims to provide advice on improving AMH levels for better fertility outcomes.

💡Sun Exposure

Sun exposure is vital for the body to produce natural vitamin D, which is linked to AMH levels. The video emphasizes the importance of getting sunlight to boost vitamin D, which in turn can support healthy AMH levels. However, it also advises taking precautions to avoid excessive sun exposure that could lead to skin damage.

💡Pesticides

Pesticides, such as Roundup, are chemicals that can be harmful to human health and fertility. The video points out that these chemicals are endocrine disruptors and can negatively impact egg quality and ovarian reserve. It encourages viewers to avoid using such chemicals in their yards and to opt for natural alternatives like vinegar for weed control.

💡To-Do List

The concept of a to-do list in the video is used metaphorically to discuss the importance of reducing daily stress and burden on the body's adrenal glands and nervous system. The speaker advises viewers to say 'no' more often to non-essential tasks to allow for more rest and recovery time, which is crucial for optimal ovarian function.

💡Drinking Water

The quality of drinking water is highlighted as a key factor in maintaining fertility. The video differentiates between filtered water and water sourced from potentially contaminated sources. It advises using filtration systems to remove chemicals and toxins and recommends drinking from glass or stainless steel containers to avoid potential endocrine-disrupting chemicals that can leach from plastic.

💡Tampons

The video discusses the potential risks associated with using conventional tampons, which are often made from cotton that has been treated with pesticides. It advises against using such tampons due to the possibility of absorbing harmful chemicals through the vaginal mucosa. Instead, it recommends using organic tampons or pads, which are less likely to contain harmful substances.

💡Fertility TV

Fertility TV appears to be the name of the series or platform from which the video is derived. It is likely a resource that provides educational content on fertility-related topics. The video is a part of this series, focusing on actions that could potentially harm fertility and offering advice on how to improve it.

💡IVF Cycle

IVF, or in vitro fertilization, is a process where eggs are fertilized by sperm outside the body and then implanted into the uterus. The video mentions that AMH levels are used to set expectations and determine the best protocol for medication during an IVF cycle. It underscores the significance of AMH in fertility treatments without suggesting it's the sole determinant of fertility.

💡Endocrine Disruptors

Endocrine disruptors are substances that can interfere with the body's hormone system and potentially lead to health issues. The video identifies pesticides, chemicals in plastic, and certain substances in tampons as examples of endocrine disruptors that can negatively affect fertility and are advised against.

💡Organic Products

The video emphasizes the use of organic products, particularly in the context of food and feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads. Organic products are recommended to reduce exposure to pesticides and chemicals that can act as endocrine disruptors, which are harmful to fertility.

💡Fertility Journey

The term 'fertility journey' is used to describe the process and experiences individuals go through when trying to conceive. The video offers support and guidance for this journey, encouraging viewers to seek help and make lifestyle changes to improve their chances of conception.

Transcripts

play00:00

A few months ago I shared this fertility TV episode called 7 Fertility Killers, and you

play00:06

all loved it.

play00:08

You always ask me what you should be doing, but what about what you shouldn't be doing

play00:14

to try to improve and increase your AMH.

play00:17

In this video, I'll share a few easy things you need to stop doing today, because they

play00:23

are not helping you and your egg reserve.

play00:26

If you're excited about this, then please give me a thumbs up, leave a comment below,

play00:31

let me know if you like this topic and more importantly, why don't you chime in and let

play00:35

me know what your AMH levels are.

play00:37

And I want you to subscribe so that I know that you like this topic and I can do more

play00:41

videos like this.

play00:43

It's not going to be the basics like just quit smoking, drink some water, get some extra

play00:47

sleep and rest.

play00:49

You already know all of that by now, especially if you've been watching other episodes of

play00:54

Fertility TV.

play00:55

We're going to go deep into this concept and I'm going to cover these five topics of things

play01:00

that you need to be avoiding. If you know you have low egg reserve and you are serious about

play01:05

improving your AMH and overall fertility and having a baby is something that you really

play01:10

want, then I highly encourage you to click on the link in the description below this

play01:14

video to apply to qualify to join my program and more importantly to speak to a real person

play01:19

on my team to see how we can best support you on your fertility journey.

play01:24

Now, let's get started.

play01:26

So as we get started on this topic about AMH and the five things that you need to stop

play01:31

doing to improve your AMH, I do want to remind you all that AMH is not a predictor of your

play01:38

fertility and how or when you may become pregnant.

play01:42

Its main value is really in setting proper expectations on the outcomes of an IVF cycle

play01:50

or to assist your reproductive endocrinologist or fertility clinic in determining the best

play01:55

protocol and plan for medications for an IVF cycle.

play01:58

So it doesn't mean that there's not value in having your AMH tested, and in the information

play02:04

that I can give you, but I don't want you to put all of your fertility, weight and burden

play02:10

in this one number.

play02:11

It's just one piece of the overall fertility puzzle that we need to address for you.

play02:17

Okay, so number one, avoiding the sun.

play02:20

Most of us have been taught that as good as the sun is, we need to avoid a lot of sun

play02:27

exposure on a regular basis because it can damage our skin, maybe cause skin cancer and

play02:32

so forth.

play02:33

I'm not here to argue about those points.

play02:35

What I do want to state is that first and foremost, getting sun exposure is extremely

play02:41

valuable and important.

play02:43

And the number one thing that its value has is that it provides natural vitamin D.

play02:49

We also know that there is a correlation between vitamin D levels and AMH levels, specifically

play02:56

that when we have lower AMH, we tend to also find that we have lower vitamin D, and so

play03:02

we want to improve that and increase your vitamin D levels to help support and increase

play03:09

and get accurate healthy AMH levels.

play03:11

Now, it doesn't mean that if we absolutely increase your vitamin D that we will absolutely

play03:17

increase your AMH.

play03:19

That can happen and hopefully does, but it does not always happen.

play03:23

So what I would encourage all of you to do is to enjoy the sun.

play03:26

Now, if you know that you're going to be spending eight hours in the sun, then yes, we do need

play03:30

to take precautions, make sure we're covered, we've got a hat, maybe some sunscreen, but

play03:34

if you're just going to be out on a regular basis, then I would encourage you not to use

play03:39

sunscreen and to expose your skin as much as possible.

play03:42

One of the guides that I like to give for natural vitamin D support is to go out in

play03:47

the middle of the day in the sun between 11:00 and 2:00 for about 20 minutes or so, maybe

play03:53

a little bit more, maybe a little bit less on a regular basis with as much skin exposure

play03:58

as possible.

play03:59

So the best would be totally nude if you are in a private backyard and don't have any worries

play04:04

around.

play04:05

Otherwise, get into a bikini or a bathing suit and get out in the sun and expose your

play04:09

skin so that you can in increase those vitamin D levels and also increase hopefully your

play04:15

AMH level.

play04:16

So stop avoiding the sun is number one.

play04:19

Number two, stop using pesticides in your yard.

play04:24

That's right, we need to get away from using Roundup because it is toxic.

play04:30

It causes harm to your body, your fertility and your endocrine system.

play04:35

These chemicals are fertility killers and endocrine disruptors, and that is definitely

play04:40

something we do not want.

play04:42

When we are trying to preserve our egg reserve or ovarian reserve and preserve egg quality,

play04:49

we need to avoid chemicals and pesticides and toxins.

play04:54

And the number one chemical and toxin that I find used everywhere and often, unfortunately

play05:02

find when we do testing inside of our bodies is Roundup and pesticides.

play05:07

So you all need to stop using that in your yard.

play05:10

Now, if you can control it, there's lots of natural things that you can do to address

play05:16

that.

play05:17

Vinegar is one of the best ones to address weeds.

play05:19

The other way is just pull them out.

play05:21

Get some exercise and get some hard work by yanking those weeds out of the ground.

play05:27

But also you can use some vinegar.

play05:29

So that is the best way to avoid it, if you own your house and your yard and that is something

play05:33

you can control.

play05:34

If you rent and you don't have control over it, then we want to avoid exposure or constant

play05:41

exposure to that.

play05:42

So you want to ask if they are spraying, if there's something else maybe that they can

play05:46

use instead.

play05:47

And if they are, you want to know what the schedule is so that you can stay away or avoid

play05:51

contact and breathing the air when that is happening.

play05:54

By the way, those things are also used in your food as regular pesticides in the produce

play06:00

that we get, which is also why the quality of the food that you get is so important and

play06:03

making sure that it's organic because that will at least, maybe not always totally avoid,

play06:08

but at least reduce and eliminate as much as possible that piece of the puzzle.

play06:13

So that is number two.

play06:15

Number three might sound funny, but it is absolutely true.

play06:19

Stop adding more things to your to-do list.

play06:23

Your goal is to reduce the burden on your daily life, on your adrenal glands, on your

play06:31

nervous system.

play06:32

So the only way to do that is to do less, not do more.

play06:36

It's important here that I want to encourage all of you to say no more frequently.

play06:40

When people ask you to do something, if it doesn't work for you, if it doesn't fit into

play06:44

what you really need to be doing, then I want you to avoid that.

play06:48

Stop trying to pack into your schedule all of these plans, whether social or otherwise.

play06:53

Try to eliminate so you have more downtime to rest, recover and rejuvenate.

play06:57

Give your body and your nervous system some time to recover and to just settle down.

play07:05

So number three is don't add more to your to-do list, eliminate more.

play07:10

This will allow your ovaries to function more optimally, to do what they're meant to do

play07:16

instead of being in this constant fight or flight response, because we're always trying

play07:19

to do, do, do, do, instead of rest, rest, rest, rest.

play07:22

That is number three.

play07:24

Number four is all about your drinking water, and this is about avoiding bad drinking water.

play07:30

I know that sounds simple and you might say, "But what does that really mean?"

play07:34

Well, here are the two main things that we need to take into account when we are talking

play07:39

about drinking water.

play07:40

One is filtration, and two is the source.

play07:44

How are we consuming it?

play07:45

From where did that water live?

play07:47

So we want to make sure that the water you drink is as clean as possible, filled with

play07:52

as little to no chemicals or toxins.

play07:55

So we want to make sure that we have a good filtration system at your faucet so that you

play08:01

can be getting healthy drinking water.

play08:03

Even better would be a great filtration system for your whole house to filter all the water

play08:09

that comes in, whether it's going into your body or on your body.

play08:13

So that would be the first part of this.

play08:15

And the second part is often we are drinking water that comes out of plastic.

play08:19

It's coming out of the pipes and then we're putting it into plastic.

play08:22

We want to avoid that as well because that causes other problems.

play08:26

We've been talking about chemicals and toxins a lot in this video and this is no different,

play08:31

whether it's actually in the water before you filter it or it lives in this plastic

play08:35

where you're then getting some sort of BP, whether it's BPA or other BP, then the bisphenol

play08:41

is not something that we want and does cause all sorts of problems to our endocrine system

play08:46

and our fertility, again, also endocrine disruptor.

play08:50

So we want to make sure that we are drinking out of glass bottles, or I've got my other

play08:56

one here, stainless steel as well.

play08:59

Whether it's the stainless steel glass like this or cup or a stainless steel or glass

play09:04

bottle that we are going to pour that into.

play09:06

Now, I know some of you have reached out to me and said, "Well, I have to buy in plastic

play09:10

for whatever reason.

play09:11

There's nothing else I can do."

play09:12

Well, then we want to get it out of that as quickly as possible.

play09:15

And I would encourage you to look for other options that might allow you to get away from

play09:19

buying plastic altogether and there are those options as well.

play09:23

So number four is about drinking water and what you are going to do to make sure you're

play09:28

getting good quality drinking water.

play09:30

I want to thank the sponsor of this week's video, Fairhaven Health, the maker of quality

play09:35

fertility supplements.

play09:37

Okay, number five, stop using tampons.

play09:40

Actually, what this should really say is stop using conventional tampons because conventional

play09:48

tampons and actually most tampons and pads are made from cotton.

play09:53

Well, cotton is a natural resource that is farmed, and like we talked about previously

play10:00

with our own house, when we are trying to get rid of weeds and so forth, we use pesticides.

play10:04

Well, the same is true on cotton farms.

play10:07

They use tons of pesticides and in this case, Roundup.

play10:11

And cotton has been found to have a ton of glyphosate, which is the main ingredient in

play10:16

Roundup.

play10:17

And so we want to avoid that whether we are consuming it orally or you are using it vaginally.

play10:24

And the reason why this is also important is because your mucus membrane in the vagina

play10:29

is extremely permeable.

play10:31

So when you put this tampon and insert it into the vagina, it's going to get easily

play10:36

into the bloodstream.

play10:37

And so then you're putting these toxins directly into the vagina where actually it's very close

play10:42

contact to the uterus, and right into the bloodstream, which is exactly what we don't

play10:46

want because you are getting these chemicals directly where we don't want them and they're

play10:51

easily and highly absorbable.

play10:54

So we want to avoid that as much as possible.

play10:57

So the first rule of thumb that I recommend here is get rid of the tampons and use pads.

play11:02

Now, sometimes tampons are still necessary, but whether you're using tampons or pads,

play11:07

I highly recommend that you use organic tampons or pads because the cotton is not sprayed

play11:15

and the likelihood of having glyphosate in there decreases dramatically in that situation.

play11:22

Now, there are other reasons why we might find conventional tampons to be dangerous

play11:26

or harmful for us and cause problems to the endocrine system, so dioxin are one of them.

play11:31

They're dangerous and there's a byproduct of bleaching.

play11:34

We also have odor neutralizers in those products and dyes potentially.

play11:38

We already talked about the pesticides and then fragrances as well that we might not

play11:41

want in there as well.

play11:43

So the best thing that we can do is try to get organic tampons or pads, and I highly

play11:48

recommend getting the ones without the applicator.

play11:51

I know it might be more challenging and something that you're not used to, but that's what you're

play11:55

looking for.

play11:56

And on top of that, also chlorine free pads.

play11:59

So that's my guide and why that's so important.

play12:02

So number five is avoiding using conventional, the keyword, conventional tampons.

play12:09

So what are you going to start to stop or change now from the five that I just mentioned

play12:14

that I want you to avoid or stop, If you do have some fertility questions, you can also

play12:19

leave those below and I will do the best I can to answer them.

play12:23
